Stunning part of town, and a must visit if you're in Salem. This neighborhood is good for wandering and exploring the quaint streets with beautiful historic home after beautiful historic home. This is a beautiful historical district in Salem Massachusetts that showcases a lot of Samuel McIntire's architecture. It's just a few blocks of neighborhoods and easy to walk around and see all of the good buildings. The Ropes Mansion Gardens are open to the public and definitely one of the first things you should check out if you are interested in this area.

Great Little Shack in the middle of Salem. I mean, how could tasty seafood in butter toasted bread not be good.

Thomas Rowen

The McIntyre Historic District is a treasure of architecture that makes Salem very unique. Go to the visitor's center on Derby Street and check with a National Park Service guide for more details.

If you want to get a taste of the real history of Salem beyond the witches take a stroll down Chestnut & Essex St (cut through adorable Botts Court) and Federal & River streets. Gorgeous Federal, Greek Revival & Victorian architectural homes. Read the historic plaques to learn more about the original owners.
