Great pictures when the sun is out. It's like it shines... Right now they do have some construction going on through with scaffolding on the right side.

Paul Onderwater

A lovely piece of architecture and from the steps you can view down the Mall. Beautiful view and well worth the visit. If you are up for it, walk around all the monuments around the Mall as well.

Bill Barannavich

Fantastic, a must visit. Although I would recommend going in the Spring or Fall the heat and humidity of summer can take a toll on your body.

Piotr Sternalski

Amazing place to go to for a tour and visit the US Capitol. The tours are very well run. However, be ready to wait in a long line for security checks (up to 40 min) and later again in the line for the tickets validation even if you booked a visit via internet. Admission is for free. You can use a tunnel and go directly to the Library of Congress. This way you will skip a line at the Library’s entrance. The lunch self service restaurant was surprisingly very good.

Visited the US Capitol for the first time while in Washington DC on business. I was able to coordinate a tour with a staffer and it was well worth it. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the building and provided small tidbits of information that made it even more interesting. I would highly recommend taking the tour if you are visiting the Washington DC area.

Mahendra AC

Very beautiful. Must see in DC

David Borger Germann

Call your local congress representative before coming to see if they have staff available for a tour. Ours did (thanks, Loebsack!), and it was great. We could go at our own pace and take time with our kids. Please note the horrific anti-Native American works of art. Change them or not, they testify to the awful treatment of native peoples on this continent.

Erik Mannery

Beautiful building - don't forget to look up a lot, there is also something new that you will see! The Senate and House chambers were a little surreal to see and the House had a vote going which was fun to sit in on. It was great to get to visit a huge part in the history of democracy.

thirdbirdstudios

Beautiful architecture all around! Even if there is only time to walk around the outside of the the U.S. Capitol, still an amazing sight! The area is SO walkable! Skip the cab!

Paranormal Society

We had an amazing time in our tour of this location. The staff was super friendly and we got to see a lot on the tour. It was very educating and it gave us a bigger picture of our countries history. Well worth the tour.

Wow Washington DC is so impressive with grandeur and with the feel of Roman inspiration. Also I think an overlooked or unknown Albert Einstein memorial is definitely worth seeing. Once you read how complicated and the thought that went into it, you'll have such greater appreciation for it. I believe everyone should schedule the African American history museum, it's amazing. Do the guided tour and it'll open your mind.

C-STORE INC

Great tours, if you have your rep take you on private tour.

This is a must visit in Washington D.C. The capital building is absolutely gorgeous. In the spring time there are many flowers and trees surrounding it to make it even better. The fountain in the front is very unique and perfect for pictures with the building. They have gates up with guards so you can't get really close. I think they do tours but you would have to research that on the website.

My first time taking the tour. Our Representative arranged a VIP tour. It was very small and personal. There’s no cost, but if your going to take a tour book it in advance. It takes about 3 hours or so. It was worth the time. Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.

This is the capitol of the U.S. People, it's as great as it sounds. Historical and interesting. The neoclassical elements are real. I was here

One of key place when you visit DC .Amazing monument & architecture works. Love every single thing about this and outstanding rich history of makes one learn a lot and meet people from all walks of life. Free guided tour available , Remember Sunday it's closed

Visiting the US Capitol was one of the best highlights of my Washington DC trip. I highly recommend creating an account in their Advance Reservation System and scheduling a tour at least three months before the DC trip. There are other tours, like the House and Senate floors, and the North Garden. Check their North Desk for additional touring information- but still schedule at least the main tour months before. Go to your tour line at least ten minutes before your tour time. It’s 45 minutes to an hour (whether you want to count the introduction video). The tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable. I don’t remember her name but guide was a blue-eyed brunette with an optimistic personality. The Capitol is a very popular attraction so expect hundreds of people inside and out. There’s a lot of history and art in one building. Statues containing heroes from each state. The Michelangelo like fresco painting on the ceiling of the Capitol, containing Washington in the center and a lot of symbols. Paintings containing highlights from early US host. There’s also a hallway connecting to the Library of Congress so if you have a lot of time before or after your tour, check that place out as well. Also has a gift shop with interesting souvenirs, and a nice cafe with a variety of American food and Pepsi products.

Some people do stuff here that are trying to "make America great again"

charles lacy

I honestly wish the people we have in office and it does not matter to me. If it’s a Republican or a Democrat could honestly just do what’s best for our country it seems that everybody wants their own agenda and at some point they’ve all forgot about what they got in office for. Working for our country. I honestly believe other countries look at us and are laughing. They think we are fools. We fight like children we will not be leaders for long if we keep acting like this. I really wish they will wake up and do what’s right for our country and stop fighting let’s work together for the good of our country or we will fall because we cannot be leaders let’s lead and stop fighting who cares if you’re a Democrat or Republican in the end of the day it’s our country that is what is important please stop the fighting. I don’t do social media but if anybody agrees can you help pass this around so we can wake up Washington. Surely the rest of the world is watching us and I’m sure they think we are fools not leaders.

David Steinberg

Very cool and interesting place to visit

Aleksander Szymczyk

Owned by privately owmed FED. Great! They are scared of losing their power. But they are going to.

pratik thakkar

Most beautiful architecture I have ever seen

Leanna George

The building was a massive yet the architecture had a Roman look to in but the inside tours were amazing the building itself looked Beautiful love it would go back

Sabik Thazhathethil

One of the best experience I had.

Kevin P

The experience of touring this place is incredible. You get to see such cool rooms and art. I learned a lot on the tour, and wish I had booked through my representative so I could've gotten a gallery pass, but that means I'll have to come back and do it next time!

Matt Porter

We did not take the tour due to time constraints. Instead we chose to walk around the Capitol. The architecture and the area around the Capitol is incredible. Next time I will plan ahead so that we can take advantage of the tours that are offered.

Probably the most impressive building I've had the chance to visit in my entire life. I'm a huge fan of neoclassical architecture and this building, as a whole, is a superb achievement. The building sits imposing on a hill, dominating the National Mall, directly looking to the astonishing Washington Monument obelisk and to the "Parthenon inspired" Lincoln Memorial building.

ivana gobbo

It is our first time in Washington DC and we love it. What a beautiful city. The US Capitol its mind blowing. The architecture and the perfection of every little detail just take your breath away. The tours inside the Capitol are completely free. If you don’t have reservation, they’ll fit you in the next tour available. After seeing the Capitol, we went to the Library of Congress through the tunnel that connects both monuments. Very nice experience.

Stephen J. Lautenschlager

The U.S. Capitol is an absolutely must-see when in the D.C. area. I had the privilege of touring and visiting the Capitol on a number of occasions while living in the D.C. area growing up as well as during family visits and business travels. It is beautiful visually from so many vantage spots both inside and around the exterior and surrounding campus.

Interesting tour. Usually fully. Need reservation. No charge.

Spellbounding architecture and great place to visit in DC.Just inspiring and a top attraction in DC.

Joshua Owens

I loved visiting this building. There is so much to see and it's a huge piece of American history.

D Paul

The building was nice, but was like visiting a nursing home. Not sure why we elect people who should be in retirement villages.

This is a great place to visit if in DC. The place is a great example of excellent architecture. The capitol dome is a unique piece of art.Our guide Ms. Anne Mary gave us the best of her knowledge during our visit. If you are an ardent lover of American history and political sciences, do visit this place!

You used to make good decision when Obama was in office

Great Washington DC Monuments by Moonlight Electric Cart Tour. Beautiful sites to see at night. Tour guide Steve was fun which added to the informative evening!

The United States Capitol, often called the Capitol Building, is the home of the United States Congress and the seat of the legislative branch of the U.S. federal government. It is located on Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Though no longer at the geographic center of the Federal District, the Capitol forms the origin point for the District's street-numbering system and the District's four quadrants. The original building was completed in 1800 and was subsequently expanded, particularly with the addition of the massive dome, and expanded chambers for the bicameral legislature, the House of Representatives in the south wing and the Senate in the north wing. Like the principal buildings of the executive and judicial branches, the Capitol is built in a distinctive neoclassical style and has a white exterior. Both its east and west elevations are formally referred to as fronts, though only the east front was intended for the reception of visitors and dignitaries.

Our tour guide was awesome and funny.

Nathaniel Pyron

Beautiful design. Breathtaking. Would love to work in DC.

Yolanda Prevatt- Dillah

I loved the pieces of art on the walls and the ceilings

I haven't been back to DC for years. Definitely call your representative or senator to set up a tour of the capitol. Luckily, I got a guided tour from our respected senior senator's aide. It was fun to go places were most people weren't allowed to go or did not have to Saturday attached to a tour group. Riding on the train was also fun. Definitely would recommend a visit to just see where things get done in the capitol no matter how you feel about the current adminstration.

Harrison Mason

Very friendly staff and helpful in navigating such a beautiful building. I have a state capitol library card and it is a great place to study law with the expertise of the state's legal librarian.

Christopher Diestze

Nice history lesson to walk through. Love the architecture. Dont love the workers! lol

SupremeToasterTV

The US Capitol Building is truly one of the greatest pieces of architecture I have ever seen in my life. And it is a great place to visit for someone wishing to learn more about the US government and our democracy.

Mark Skinner

Enjoyed the opportunity to tour the capital and see how elected citizens serve our country. Place has a lot of influence.

Jay Fernández

Great place to visit; it is an amazing museum: for tourists!

Tcwilliams 123

Very Amazing Experience Especially from our tour guides from our State representatives office

Ethan

The way the washington dc government and mayors office treat people with disabilities is completely wrong. They refuse to honor the ADA. They refuse public accommodation. They refuse to allow service dogs access with their facilities. Cant file a complaint in a timily manor due to their refusal to provide accomidations. Then they dont take the complaints serious at all. Beware this city, its leadership are flat hostile to persons with Disabilities.

K M

Even if you don't go for a tour, the lawn and gardens surrounding the Capitol make for a wonderful walk. In the spring, the flowers are absolutely lovely and in winter, the hills make for a fun place to sled. There are great photo opportunities and it gives an awesome view down the national mall.

I came from INDIA to visit United States Capitol on 4th July 2019 with family at Washington D.C, USA. It is one of the most wonderful historical US Government building where we can see the statues , Images and paintings of great personalities of USA at United States Capitol Visitor Center. It is maintained with neat and clean with all facilities and also a store , restrooms etc. I had a great time in my life when I visited United States Capitol Visitor Center ,Washington D.C., USA

Nathan Yamamoto

A cool place. Started in the back, where it was all gated off, which was still great for pictures. Got a guided tour inside, which was much bigger than I thought it would be. Great design and such, impressive. Gift shops and such I think are a little overpriced, even for tourist items. And the most important thing? I learned that in there, it's illegal to sit on the floor, due to a fire hazard. No joke- it's a real rule.

Zaccai Gleason

Great place to learn a little history

The tour guide we had was incredible - obviously super knowledgeable and capable (shout out to you, Blake Lindsay).

Anoushiravan Vakili-zarch

The capitol has lot to offer. There are speciality tour for house and senate. Also general tour of capitol. Staff are kind and helpful. You got to find your representative for speciality tours.

John Muhlhauser

Wow! Amazing architecture! I absolutely enjoyed my visit! Even though there is a partial government shutdown I saw no signs of trash or negligence here. It wasn't crowded so it made for some really good pictures to be taken. I was blown away by the size and detail of this building!

Danda Naveen

One of such giant monument which you can see in capital city. Worth spending time to visit for a quick look and snaps!!

Lula Turner

We visited with a large school group and a tour company. We had tickets and only waited about 10 minutes to get into the tour. Starts off with a video and moves into a guided tour with headphones connected to the guide. Don’t fall too far behind the group or you will lose connection and miss interesting information. When we were there the House was in session. Allow plenty of time. There’s also a cafeteria in the lower level. Very strict security - bag inspection (like everywhere else), no outside water allowed.

Sridhar Srinivasan

Very Good Looking Building in the National Mall @ Washington DC.. For viewing and Photograph This United States Capitol building looks better than White house.. Lot of Greenery around this Building..You can take 1$ Circulator Bus from here to go a full round of National Mall.. We viewed from outside of this Building only..

Adam Tuiletufuga

The Capitol Building is beautiful in form and representation. Removed from the politics of it all, the building has come to represent a democratic society and does so with a level of grandeur not often seen in American architecture. The amount of detail in this building is amazing and the short, but sweet, tour they regularly offer 6 days a week is highly informative. My favorite room is the Rotunda, which features 8 massive and important paintings that many Americans will have seen in their textbooks during school, such the painting of President Washington's surrendering of power when he left the office (the first peaceful handing over of power). This location is a MUST-SEE when visiting Washington, both the outside of the building and the free tour inside.

Charlie M

"Legendary?" home of the US Legislature. Who at Google wrote that? 5 stars for the place, 1 star for the Google caption. Who meets there? Justice League of America? "Iconic" may fit the White House. Did Google somehow think no one would notice?

Cornelius Davoren

We had a private tour from an intern working in our congressman’s office. That made all the difference as we had a personal guide to tell us so much of the history of the Capitol. The views of the capital rotunda are absolutely breathtaking, and even school-age children can appreciate the history and the statues that are present contributed by each of the states. You can do the visitor center afterwards, and there is a café in the visitor center.

JHOANNA P

i love the expirence, i was there 2 year ago. it was magical , i love this area ,there is a lot of to see on Washington, Dc : Museum , historical places, its a Beautiful City , i want to come back soon...

jimmy brown

Cool place and very cool history plus a nice tour of some of the rooms and the statues / art along with some stories. The only gripe is the security guards lack respect and grabbed our portable cooler we placed out of the way because you can't bring in beverages and threw it in the trash and couldn't do anything about it as we were already past security and watched this happen outside. Didn't see it in the trash bin after the tour probably buried under filth. Make sure you don't bring anything you care about if you decide to go.

Returd Studioz

Sushi was great, really liked the salmon nigiri! Had to pay extra for some more soy sauce however. Decent experience all-in-all, would suggest to choose the all you can eat option on workdays for 18.99!

Beauty of heaven. I love it soo much. I enjoy this place.

Fantastic free tour. We did the pentagon tour first and were very disappointed so this tour was a nice surprise! We booked a few weeks ahead and arrived before our time slot so they moved us up to the earlier tour. You are given a headset so it’s easy to hear your guide. The tour covers some of the major rooms, history of the building and the statues. Overall it was very interesting and a beautiful building to visit if you are in DC

Douglas was our tour guide today and was absolutely amazing! He made the tour fun, and he was full of knowledge. If you visit the Capitol you better hope you get to have Douglas!

It was first time to visit here and its is beautiful place. Well maintained and good for educational tours. The staff are polite and friendly. Gets crowded so come early. The souvenier shop has a lot of stuff. We went there during the cherry blossom festival. Tons of people around. But it is worth the drive. A must visit place.

The Capital Building is massive. While on another part of our weekend journey, our eyes could not seem to stop wandering the floors, the walls, the ceiling, the paintings, the writings and the silent sounds of times gone by in our history. The steps to the capital, the height and expansiveness of this building is key to understanding what our forefathers thought of our country and what it would be like in the future. It's basically an office building with such memory and history posted on its walls. It is like a history course that you can take in one day. Take notes and breathe it all in. If you're on a tour listen well. There's a lot of activity here during the day plus all the people that come to visit. It's amazing that it's in the shape that it's in.

Must visit if in DC. Go online and reserve a tour to go through the lines faster

Heaven Victory

I’m 17 years old and did not find this boring at all. I’m also not that into history but seeing some of the stuff they had in there was an absolutely amazing experience that I will never forgot. It’s worth every penny!

Victor Wilhelm

Really cool. Make time to do the tour. Simply amazing. #travelformortals

Arish Ojaswi

They offer great indoor tours as well. Remember to book in advance.

Debisree Ray

The most iconic building in the world history of democracy and politics. It symbolizes world’s oldest democracy. Even if these do not bother, you must visit, for the sake of architecture of the building. The arena is wonderful. There are some guided tours inside, which you must take. There are several online sites, where you can reserve these tours. You need to research them much ahead, otherwise you might not get them. These are always in big demand! Also, the tour might take at least 2-3 hours. So your entire Capitol Hill trip can take a good 3-4 hours. Plan accordingly. Again, it’s highly recommended and a must visit while you are in DC area.

Danago

The Capitol building in Capitol Hills can easily be seen from the National Mall area. On a clear day it is truly a great sight.

Adam Davis

A 12x18 oil-on-canvas, John Trumbull’s Declaration of Independence hangs in the U.S. Capitol’s rotunda (where it has been since 1826). It depicts 47 individuals, of which 42 were signees of the Declaration. The Committee of Five (standing center) include Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Livingston and Sherman. A great and historic painting!

Joshua

Tours are well organized and informative, just make sure you get (free) passes in advance or go during an off season.

Kevin Song

This is a great place to visit for an educational field trip or to take you and your family with for about a couple of hours. The tours are captivating, and you can go back to America’s past through the different locations and learn how the government runs. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are visiting DC.

Shannon Fair

Beautiful place very busy though. I like more low key but once in a lifetime must go to place.

Stanislaus Suares

Great place to visit to know American history, it's Independence struggle and the organs of the government.

Joshua Imholz

Didn't get the chance to see the inside, but got to enjoy the views outside. Highly recommend walking from here to Washington monument.

Anush John

"There’s a “whispering gallery” in the Capitol. In some areas of the National Statuary Hall, you can whisper and still be clearly heard yards away. "

Soumya Khatri

A great place to visit but avoid national holidays its way too crowded no parking and difficult with kids

Brett Noorda

Rating the Capital Tour here. Going in I was very skeptical--I find most tours kinda boring and uninformative. This tour, however, was great. First, you get headphones so you can always hear your guide, even when you are way across the room (as I often was looking at this painting or that statue). Our guide was very knowledgeable and clearly answered every question our group could throw at him. The art (paintings, sculptures, architecture) was impressive, and my only regret about this tour is not having A LOT more time to spend taking it all in.

Leafar Lee

Beautiful building and good free tours! The tour guide explains about the history of the Capitol and shows the most important rooms. We loved it very much! I definitely recommend it if you are in DC! Also you don't need to have a reservation (you can but you don't need to). Restrooms are very clean. It's well located at the eastern end of the National Mall (not far from the National museum of Natural History, National Archives Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, Sculpture Garden and the National Air and Space museum). Thanks for all! United States Capitol Visitor Center.

Great place to visit with a family when in D.C. kids loved it and got to learn some history

Marlee Collins

Just don’t leave the tour early if you book a timed reservation. The tour guide asked the entire group of others to clap for me when I had to leave the tour early. SUPER EMBARRASSING and not Necessary to make light of someone having an issue to which they couldn’t continue on.

Julius Caesar

Quit bickering over what the president said and fix flint, work on the border and the United States major cities are turning in to cesspools y’all have forgotten who you serve and it isn’t yourself do your duty to the people of the United States, it’s almost to the point where Canada has a more ethical governing body and that’s just a disgusting disgrace we’re better than this and definitely better then the canucks to the north

Clemens Heller

Can highly recommend the tour. At first you get a short introduction movie about U.S. democracy and the building. Afterwards you get a 40 minutes tour with a guide and interesting stories.

Chris Ingersoll

Visited the US Capitol for the first time while in Washington DC on business. I was able to coordinate a tour with a staffer and it was well worth it. The home of the United States Congress and the seat of the legislative branch of the U.S. federal government. It is an impressive building. The United States Capitol Visitor Center, located below the East Front of the Capitol and its plaza, between the Capitol building and 1st Street East, opened on December 2, 2008. Unfortunately it is not open on holidays. You may want to visit in a work day.

Beautiful building. Parking is for capital workers only. You will likely have to taxi, walk, scooter, uber, or bus to get here. There is a free bus service that goes around the National Mall. That line makes around 15 stops including one near the capital. I would recommend it for the elderly and some handicap. There is plenty of opportunities for picture taking here. I do not believe public restrooms are near here. They are near the center of the National Mall or the Smithsonian. National Art Gallery might be another option.

Very educational and enjoyable. Recommend contacting your Senator or Representative to see about a guided tour. Well worth the time. Did you know that for a fee, you can request a flag that’s has been flown over the US Capital building? Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capital’s office. Check your Senator’s or Representative’s web site for details. Very cool gift idea.

We got the House Gallery pass from our congressman and was told it’s open today(July 5th, 2019). We lined outside before 8AM. We asked the Front desk inside when we got in and was confirmed that the Gallery will open at 9AM. We waited at the entrance until 9:40AM but it still was not open. We went back to the Front desk and then they talked over radio and decided to not open today. What a mess! It’s cheating! Cheating on citizens on purpose!

Matt Calhoun

I thought we would have to wait in line a long time, but we got right in to a tour. Our tour ended up being a video, visiting the crypt, the rotunda and one more room so I didn’t feel like I saw as much as I wanted to. The part that I saw was great and I’m glad I didn’t have to wait long. There are specialty tours so maybe those offer other options

If you are in DC, you should definitely try and take a tour of the United States Capital building. The history and architecture in there are stunning.

Brian Anber

Great view from across the street. Lawn right up to the steps. No boundaries like at the White House. Great to see during sunset. Short walk from the museum's in the National Mall.

Rishabh Dadhwal

A minor hiccup but otherwise a must visit

kazumi makwana

very nice place...but closed on sundays to make sure you check availability before you go from Google...as we missed inside the Capitol...

If you are in Washington DC this has to be on your list! We had AMAZING tour guide that was so knowledgeable and willing to answer everyone’s questions. Just being able to see where government happens was a great experience. Most amazing thing I learned was that the dome is just held on by weight. Very impressive! Statues were very impressive as well. Everyone that we came in contact with was so nice! Thanks US CAPITOL for our tour and your hospitality!!!

Michele Diamond

Mr. Christian was our guide on this chilly DC Saturday afternoon. A very professional, well spoken, knowledgeable and all around pleasant individual who has obvious pride, passion and enthusiasm for his work. We learned so much. Your humor, attention to detail and informative answers to our questions are worth mention here. We thank you for a wonderful experience.

Peter Wallsmith

The bathrooms here are really nice I took A big old pee and it felt great.Best bathroom in Washington.

Veronica Dead

Interesting building great place to go for visiting! Our tour guide was very funny and put a nice spin on the history.

It was a perfect Sept day

Saikrishna Rengaraj

Nice place , great tour and awesome tour guide . Tour is free and don’t forget to get into the one of the timings

We ended up doing a tour and it was so nice. If you get a chance go and you won't be disappointed. There is a cafeteria inside that isn't too bad but pretty pricey for what you get. It is also neat that it is connected to The Library of Congress. So you can just walk a short walk through the tunnel and check that out next.

Joseph Ching

The building looks good from the outside and the inside was very lavishly decorated. The interior view of the dome was grand, there are detailed engraving amd painting wrapping around it, there is also a ceiling painting in the center below the done. The state of Freedom was huge! We were taken to an auditorium and a video prevention was shown at the start of the tour. Afterward, Our tour guide Andrew showed us the various chambers such as the original meeting room for the supreme court, the chamber where members of house of representatives and Senates debated - which has now became the room of statutes, and another room with various famous painting where ceremony takes place. After the tour, we got tickets to see the representative and Senates sessions. There is another security and the actual session wasn't very interesting. There is also a gift shop and we bought some items to decorate around the house.

As per my friends visit and some videos This place provide us the glimpses of the American history. Amazing environment . Peace , knowledge one can get there.

carol mccarty

So much history. If you get a chance write to your Congress representative to get a tour. So much more history than just the signage there. Thanks Tim Walberg!

Ghali Majzoub

One of the great architecture inside the Capitol .. what a nice visit and a must once visiting the DC

Soha Alatiby

A prominent classic building with a dome for the Senate and the US House of Representatives and open for tours

Paola Cruz

It was very interesting to be in a place with so much history. If you are a history buff, specifically American history, then it is definitely worth going on the tour. There is so much to learn and every room you walk into is beautiful and detailed. Also, our tour guide was very friendly and took the time to answer everyone’s questions. If you want to do more than the tour and explore everything the Capitol has to offer, it would definitely take about a half day.

Nich Dat

I spent 1 hour here to "gaze with veneration". But that time was not enough to me to idolization that building. I could not go inside, because that day was closing. It is a masterpiece of construction. I admire that. I took many picture outside of that building. I hope I will come back to visit inside that building

Maria Loera

Beautiful building full of fun historical facts and quirks. Definitely worth the visit.

Lily

it is what it is, a very iconic building everyone around the world knows. Definitely worth a visit. get yourself a guide, because these places need to be explained to understand the history of America.

Mr. B

Best is you book your tour time on their webpage. What they don’t tell you on the webpage is, that you can’t see the House or Senate when you are on the last tour. They close those rooms by 4 p.m.

Andy Johnson

The Capitol tour was very disappointing. Basically stand in two different rooms and tell the tour guide where you are from and he/she tells about the statues representing your state. That’s it.

Garrett Hartman

A breath taking building of immense importance found in Washington DC. If you have time for a tour, definitely take one. Parts of the Capitol building are like a museum and have great history. The building itself is quite stunning. Definitely worth a trip!

Benjamin Dadson

Amazing monument. Love every single thing about this and outstanding rich history of makes one learn a lot and meet people from all walks of life. Don't miss out on this place when you visit US.

Steve Myers

This is a requirement visit in Washington D.C. The capital building is completely beautiful. within the spring time there area unit several flowers and trees close it to create it even higher. The fountain within the front is extremely distinctive and ideal for photos with the building. they need gates up with guards therefore you cannot get extremely shut. i believe they are doing tours however you'd ought to analysis that on the web site.

Raymond Terry

Beautiful to see in person. If you go through DC you must stop by.

Jonathan Bolaños Tabares

Probably the most impressive building I've had the chance to visit in my entire life. I'm a huge fan of neoclassical architecture and this building, as a whole, is a superb achievement. The building sits imposing on a hill, dominating the National Mall, directly looking to the astonishing Washington Monument obelisk and to the "Parthenon inspired" Lincoln Memorial building.

蔡明

OMG, I can't believe I'm here.

George Mwasumbi

Didn't actually get to go inside due to the lack of time, but the building itself is an impressive sight, and can be seen from quite a distance while walking through the streets of DC.

Ricardo Gonzalez

Call you US congressman's office for a tour, you won't regret it. We called 1 week before our trip and they took care of everything, Andres and Layla from cogressman Vicente Gonzalez's office were great. These staffers not only gave us a behind the scenes but it was great to talk politics with them. My congrssman was unfortunately not there but I'll catch him back home.

BusyGal36

we came here at night time and we noticed that during that Time parking was not difficult. in reality we only came up to the building and took some photos in front of the night lighted building as well as of the other monuments in the city that we could see from there. this is a cool place to visit for sure, it is a must when around town. I did not go inside so I can't say how it works to get inside or if people are allowed inside at all for that matter. But I cannot stress enough that this is a must when coming to town.

Jake Wolfe

Strictly speaking architecturally, this is a beautiful monument to democracy (or, more accurately, republic/representation), regardless on opinions on who sits and what happens (or doesn't happen) inside. Something about the Capitol Dome and its two even sides just feels... equal. Perhaps it's something akin to the idea behind King Arthur's round table, where none were at the "head", and all sat in the same place. Regardless, visually, it works. If only every person who saw it or stepped inside it were as sentimental or philosophical about it...

Micah Covey

Outstanding place of government! Loved walking through this building learning our United States history! Have been here three different times and have always enjoyed it! Visiting the Senate chamber is awesome! Great place to share the Gospel!

L K

Worth a visit. Good tours, very interesting history. It is a sight to behold, see the statues, the beautiful dome, the maps, etc.

SAIF UR REHMAN

Very beautiful and state of the Art Building.

Jasmine H

A little yellow. Yesterday they had the navy band play for a couple of hours. Nice fountains. Nice rain trees. Theres some gardenia that arent in bloom. One of the drinking fountains didnt work outside. The ambulance showed up. A lot of k9 units. Looks like the gaurds stare at people all day. Some of the reporters seemed disgruntled.

Drea S

Definitely a must see ! I didn’t make it inside, but to walk around the outside & being within arms reach was breathtaking! I love DC.

Zachary Yench

Great to see while vacationing with the family, amazing architecture. HOWEVER... considering this is the building that TED CRUZ resides on during his work day, I can only give this location 4 stars. I will say, Ted is very well-spoken and treats my daughter nicely. She would not have graduated the fourth grade without him.

LaRaye

The architecture and construction is great. At night, it looks magical.

S.A. M.

Visited the Capitol Hill with my family 11 years ago, and it was arguably one of the best buildings that I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The guides were friendly and helpful, as were the security staff. If you're ever in the DC area, this is one of the places that should be included on your bucket list!

Alundis Pledge

To see a lot of things I learned about in history was monuments!

Colin Hozey

First off, the U.S. Capitol is one of the most beautiful buildings ever constructed. All of you grouches who slam it because you don't like the people who work there need to grow up. I love visiting the Capitol Building. Show it respect. It is the seat of government. I don't like the president, but I still respect the Oval Office. And finally, it's where I'm gonna be working someday.

Yaser K

You probably know what this is, unless you've been living under a rock! The US capitol is something you should definitely see. Midly crowdy on a Monday evening, but that's expected. Very nice and clean walk around the building with loads of seating and picture areas! Again, a must visit if you're a tourist!!!

Bill Mustakas

I liked the tour. It moved at a good pace.

Isabelle Tran

Beautiful architecture from the outside. Recommended to book in advance for a tour. The park outside is a beautiful place to relax after a long day of touring, including some cherry blossom trees.

Gajendra Chaudhary

I loved coming here.it is luxurious

Frenite

Very historic and an awesome place to visit!

Vincent Gagnon

Impressive building. We enjoyed our tour of the U.S. Capitol, it is as impressive from the inside and it was from the outside. Definitely recommend doing the inside tour, it's well planned out and informational.

Rebecca Tremblay - Vuik

Visited the Capitol during a short business trip to the city. Beautiful architecture all around! Even if you don't have the time for the long security lines, only walk around the outside of the the U.S. Capitol, still is an amazing experience.
