REVIEWS OF National Mall IN Maryland

Loved the African American National Museum; the staff very well organized with attention to detail. The exhibits are fantastic and cover the entire aspect of the Black Diaspora in America.

Sheshes S.

I attended the George Washington... graduation here for my daughter. I've never been to the Monument, ever! Walking through that area, the park, the surrounding buildings, shops...felt, well...monumental! That's all I can say. Heartwarming.

Heather P

When we visited it was close to 9/11 many of the streets were blocked off for events or extra safety. With that being said we found parking even though that was confusing. We were able to get a spot and pictures of both the Washington monument and the white house. Note this is not a shopping mall like some might think. The area is clean and feels safe to walk around and explore the area.

Superstar Kels

I love this place especially at night. The ambiance is great. I love just walking around and seeing other people admire our great city

Dominic Swayne

The grass looks better than ever and it was relatively clean! Lots of people. Great weather. Couldn't ask for a better weekend visit.

Garrie Lain

Absolutely amazing and somber memorial. I just wish parents taught their kids why they should not be running around, screaming and riding scooters at the memorials. The memorials represent my family and the families of many others of Americans. From Tucson Arizona.

craig clark

I love going from one end to the other. Hit a couple Smithsonian museums along the way and the monuments too. Nice walk in the spring.

Jim Collins

There is nothing like the DC mall area to stir ones emotions. Whether it is the simplicity of the Vietnam Memorial, the starkness of the Korean Memorial or the grandness of the WW2 memorial. Each creates awe and a sense of reflection. With Lincoln watching from his place of reverence, staring at the reflection of Washington's monolith, you cannot get a better feel for America's place in the world.

Joseph Bordelon

Excellent park to observe & appreciate the National monuments. Everything was free to view, was in a nice location, a lot of people locally around so it's safe. Parking is tricky though.

Landon Harris

It is a beautiful place, I would totally visit again! Lots of things to keep you busy and entertained. Also, check out one of the food trucks, some of them aren't that bad.

Dewaine Beard

I have a ritual whenever I am at the National Mall. I start walking at the WWII memorial, pondering the tremendous sacrifice made by our greatest generation to free the world from the brutality of Fascism. Then I walk along the reflecting pool to the Lincoln Memorial. I slowly ascend the stairs and take the time to read the second inaugural address and the Gettysburg Address in full. Then I consider the commitment and sacrifice required to fight for and hold these United States together. It strengthens my resolve to.serve my country.

Emilie Kane

The National Mall will always have a special place in my heart. Heart of the US. Perfect for walking, photos, and getting snacks and food at a stand or food trucks.

Home on the Capitol is an energizing and a near endless sightseeing exercise.(& I do mean exercise). Can say so much to the experience. Epic views, comfortable freedom and a host of entertainment. Always special.

Rianna Raines

It was amazing. Loved getting to take my son there. I definitely recommend the bus tours and if you want to go up in the Washington monument get there early. They start giving out tickets at 8:30 am

Idalmis Ramirez

It is a magical place. When you see all the landmarks you would only dream of seeing on tv, right in front of you. I loved it. It represents who we are as a country. All the history involved. It was amazing. Just put on a pair of comfy shoes and be ready to walk.

Crystal Charles

Had a wonderful time here in Washington DC. So many things to do here and to explore. Even had fun with the Uber scooter that was available to get around the city for on 25 cents per mile. Was on the scooter for 16 minutes 8 miles cost me 4 dollars. The train and free bus won’t disappoint.

junksquad1958

If you visit take the ride in elevator. Tickets are free but be their at 8 30am to get one in lower ticket booth below monument it's worth the wait and you won't be disappointed

Stephen Butler

Second time I’ve been there. I really enjoyed this visit, wasn’t as hot. There’s plenty to see, so take your time and camera. Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.

Tony Reynolds

The Mall is one of Washington DC's iconic landmarks. It is also a major urban open space for walking, skating, and biking. Museums are clustered on and near the Mall so there are activities for every inclination. Frequent festivals and events are held there as well. Food trucks, bicycle rickshaws, and walking tours add to your options.

Donna Valentine

Incredible. Was humbled to be there. So much history, so much honor shown to the ones before us that gave their lives for our country.

Curtis McLaughlin

Great evening out. We took in the sights while working on our pedometer goal. Downtown DC is a beautiful sightseeing destination. Museums are informational and free. Fun for the whole family.

Alexander

The National Mall is a nice place for walks and looking around. The Lincoln Memorial and World War 2 Memorial are particularly nice to look around. The Washington Monument is a place that I normally like to hang out at but it was closed off the time I was there. Rent a scooter or a bike and ride around it's a very nice scenic route.

Gautham Pasupathy

A great place to visit to see museums and monuments about America’s history. Can get very hot/humid during the summer day, and would also recommend mosquito repellent.

Ali Sadat

Fantastic, there was a heavy thunderstorm when we were visiting and the folks at David's Tent kindly provided us refuge. In spite of the weather we could see the Washington Monument, the White House, Capitol building from a distance, US Treasury, and most importantly the Air and Space Museum. Great day out for my family!

V S

Fun exciting day of historical exploration! We spent an entire day (walked 11 miles) and still did not get to see everything there is to see. The best part was it barely cost anything. Loved D.C.♥️

Carmine Esposito

Very inspirational. Touching statues of 3 soldiers from Vietnam war. The trick is that someone has to explain its symbolism. We had, Dre, a great tour guide from Hop On-Hop Off. Lincoln Memorial was awesome. We saw it at night.

Yuri Markov

Must go place for all. Specially if you want to meet your "neighbor" from another country. God bless America!

Kristen Harden

Best experience ever. They really cleaned up the area. More than impressed. We make yearly visits now.

Brian Gutierrez

Beautiful place for a stroll or a detailed tour. The memorials are magnificent and detail the history of our wonderful country. Parking can be easier on Sundays as much of it is free or unrestricted.

Joshua Hrdlick

Will take an entire weekend to see it all, but plenty of free museums and monuments to go see. Native American museum was very good, African American was great too largely focused on the culture, Natural History is a good one for the kids. Food trucks are always parked in case you get hungry.

Ryan Linthicum

I'm a local DC resident and love to walk home through the National Mall. It feels like DC's living room. Plus you never know what new and exciting thing will be happening. Always the best spot for picture too!

Historically interesting, worth exploring. As Americana as you can get it anywhere in the States in my opinion as a visitor. To describe this space as GRAND is an understated expression! There's so much to discover and explore either by foot or tourist buses or taxis. A wonderful and atmospheric environment for all ages. One needs a week at least, especially for someone visiting for the first time, to absorb the enormity and elegance and vibrancy of this place. Absolutely worth visiting and exploring.

Tia Cherie, DVM

We visited on Thursday, in the afternoon and there was very little foot traffic. The memorials are well kept and the walk from our hotel (about 1.4 miles/38 minutes) took us past a few street side vendors. We visited the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and Reflection Pool. Wishing the Washington Memorial was open, but I'm sure the renovations will be worth it.

Adrian Ortiz

One of our great areas in the USA. The Mall "park" is huge and has so many different museums to enjoy. Many are free since they belong to us to enjoy. The area is great for exercise and just to reflect on the history. There are many forms of transportation you can use. Rental bikes, scooters, metro, cab, bus. Just pick one that works best for you and have fun.

I was wondering why was this place called the National Mall After a while I understood that every time I go to a mall, its because I want to go to different stores and get a variety of items. So this area a the jewel of Washington DC. It is loaded with lots of historic and public buildings. Museums like the Smithsonian and monuments such as Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, The Capitol, The White House. If you are looking for a place that embraces the richest part of the history of the United Stated, so this is the right place. The gardens are beautiful and invite the traveler to walk from one side to the other. You will probably need a whole week to visit each place in detail. Reservations need to be made in advance in order to get access to some buildings such as the Capitol and the White House. At some other places if you are lucky, you might get a ticket to get in. Most museums and monuments access is free and the best time to visit them is at the beginning of Fall or by Spring so you can also see the cherry blossom festival. National Mall should be visited without the pressure of a prepaid tour. You can plan a couple of days visit all by yourself. There are several hotels and apartments for rent. So there is no excuse to enjoy DC's Jewel.

C C Anthony

Great place for all Americans , black and white. We need to know our country's history in order to understand how it shaped our nation. This place takes you on a journey that leads you to understand this country

Landon Harris

Best time to go is anytime. The Mall is a great place to take family or a romantic date. You have a plethora of things to do. Museums or restaurants or just the ambience of the surrounding view. Even if your from this area I think you would truly enjoy what you see.

Erica Caesar

Always worth coming here because of the variety of things to do in the area. It is motivating and provides a nice uplift. The grounds are lovingly maintained.

What's not to love about green space in our nation's capital. Usually lots of people and during the day and early evening very safe. Great photo opportunities of the monuments.

Gazooke

Definitely a very cool place to visit and I really enjoyed seeing it. However when me and my family went it was upwards of ninety degrees outside which was extremely unpleasant considering how little shade there is. But even though the weather was bad it was extremely awe inspiring to see the monuments that were built to dedicate the history of this great country.

Kazimiera Gallegos

Love, love and more love for DC. Felt so patriotic. If only the politicians could feel the love for this amazing country of ours and started putting it first.

Jason Charnock

This place is awesome. The grounds are meticulously landscaped. Great place to take a walk. Depending on the season there may be a lot of people but there is plenty of space. It is a wonderful experience to have seen our great nation's Capitol. Bring your walking shoes.

David Morgan

Caught the moon landing anniversary program on the Washington monument. It was so inspiring, and it was stayed out of any political muck. Refreshing!

Yolanda Williams

Awesomeness with a historical feel to it. Love going there especially when the pond is filled with water it reminds me of videos of the Martin Luther King Speech.

Amanda Broome

Even though it was crowded with people you can access it fairly easily and can still feel the solemnity of the monument. The great imposing nature of the building and statue, the stateliness of the marble, the gravity of the engravings all serve to send a sense of awe to all.

Amanda

We always love coming here. It's not too much of a walk there but be prepared to sweat and put on those comfy walking shoes. We always go in a cooler season hoping to not have a heat stroke.

William Henry England

It was so hot when we went to see all the monuments along the national mall, but it was worth it! I gave my friend from Australia a tour of the mall and they were blown away by how beautiful it was and the scale and architecture of the monuments.

Tommy Dye

Loved it loved it.. First time ever going here. But now that's I've been, probably won't need to come back. But it was cool to see everything for the first time.

Larry VP

The National Gallery of Art is one the nicest building among the Smithsonian structures. It is a place to feel one with art and beauty. Both buildings are connected underneath by a very cool tunnel...you must visit this building.

Lisa Henderson

Loved all the museums! So many of them to see. Definitely need to wear good walking shoes because the museums are huge. Absolutely fantastic places and things to see. Would like to return to see what there wasn’t enough time to .

Sri Pabbathi

There are a few places that make me happy to be in. And the national mall, Lincoln Memorial and the WWII monument is one of those places. Once you find parking nearby..easy to walk from Lincoln to Korean war Memorial and then to Vietnam and to WWII ..all in three hours and can squeeze in a lunch from the food trucks.

Elizabeth Wingate

Beautiful plants with different variety flowers, if you're a lover of nature go there I recommend. .it's relaxing just siting and looked around you....

Leonard A. Carrion

The is a must visit. If you've not been here, put it on your bucket list. Lots to see and great exercise for those who like to walk and take in fresh air.

Alex Jain

Great landmark. Nice place. Make sure to visit when it’s not too hot outside. The walk area is pet friendly which is a major plus. Highly recommended in my books

K Jennings

The mall is one of my favorite places to walk. It is friendly and inviting with wonderful monuments all over the place. Every time I go, I find a new monument.

Crystal Whetstone

It's a must see if you're in DC. If you have certain disabilities, it's not going to work as there's TONS of walking. It's mostly accessible but it won't be easy doing it regardless. Wear a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, long sleeves, etc because you'll be outside the whole time. Bring water & snacks & if you buy lunch there, you can find healthy choices but it'll be $23 for 2 grilled chicken sandwiches and 2 waters!

Freda Ocran

Went to part of the mall. My daughter went to Washington monument. It was quiet a walk but worth it. Full of history. The walk was a good workout. I will recommend to everyone.

Stephanie

We did not go inside this time. I was told that the best time of the year is to come in April when the cherry blossoms are blooming so I think we'll be sure to make our next trip around that time.

Himanshu Babaria

This is my favorite place to visit when I am in Washington. So many beautiful museums and monuments to look at. A very nice place to bring kids. Be ready for a lot of walking as the National Mall is huge!

Ganesh Marve

Too many things to cover. I would recommend to stick few which are interest of you. Walking and exploring is more practical than finding parking spots. Try to cover between Monday to Saturday as Sunday is not " full day " here

Tina Steffer

Thoroughly enjoyable. Makes you remember how things could be. Many buildings and monuments under construction but still so impressive. Awe inspiring. Love hearing the different languages spoken and seeing the different cultures.

Wendy M Gibson

The upgrades and renovations that they have completed are AWESOME. As an educator the displays and technological apparatus enhances the displays and may attract more individuals to read and learn about the artifacts displayed at the museum. Everything has be made accessible to all age groups.

Alexander Lobo

mike magruder

Took my 18yr old son for the 1st time to visit the Nation's Capital. He enjoyed it very much. Being in a wheelchair, most places were easily accessible for him

Britt Bentson

The mall is such a fun place to get outside and take a break from the museums. Also a good photo spot for the capitol and Washington monuments

John Becker

The walk through the National Mall is as historic as it gets. Monuments galore everywhere you turn. If you ride a scooter I'd highly recommended it. You'll see 4 times the amount of places than you would if walking. A map is worth having. Water is a must in the summer.

Rockland Mosby

The National Mall looks great - the Park Service continues to repair and improve the grounds. During our latest visit (Labor Day weekend) the Washington Monument was still being renovated. But there's still more than enough attractions and sites to fill a weekend.

M. J.

Went on an evening tour and it was great! Only about 12 of us and the tour guide came with us to every stop. He was knowledgeable and I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the National Mall. We seen different monuments and got a background story on each. I will definitely visit again and do the tour again! The one monument that was packed even in the evening was Ab Lincoln but I did go the month of July so lol. Overall loved it!!

wes godfrey

One of the places I have seem so many times in movies, news, and television but had never visited. The power of the memorials and the peace of the water combined to make it one of my most cherished memories

Jamey Royse

An enduring reminder of what truly makes America great. I love seeing our history, art, culture, science, technology, and the foundational documents of our national Liberal experiment with reasoned governance of, by, and for the people all facing this beautiful public park space inviting our participation and offering to include us in all it represents.

Yesn'tamos

Great! I went for the first man on the moon show. There wasn't a lot of space on the grass to be comfortable but the show was spectacular! Reccomend visiting again just to walk around and have a good meal at the food trucks.

Erich Meier

Such an awesome collection of National Treasures. You can spend days exploring only the 'Mall'. Stop by an information stand for an informative map and bus route pamphlet for the route of the free bus - yes free!

James M. Kamara

It is safe to be. The view is good. The people who visit there are happy people and care for the happiness of others. The air is fresh and a relative quietness. I love to be there occasionally.

Mikkel Helmersen

Rent an electric scooter, then experience the awesome sightseeing that this area offers! Best experience ever. Just be careful when crossing the roads. There are people selling drinks everywhere and food trucks parked all over the place. Extremely tourist friendly.

Gregory Borunda

Just amazing to stroll along the mall and see all the memorials and monuments. If you are on a short trip, decide before hand what you really want to see and stay focused.

Snot-Nosed Little Punk

This is the place for you if you love to watch paintings. You could come here alone and spend a wonderful time to yourself just admiring the artwork.

Jennifer Tarin

There is so much to see here and so much to learn. It is quiet and full of people and things to do. Coming at night is a treat as all of the monuments are lit up and it is beautiful.

Gregory Allen

One of the great museums for seeing pieces of flying history. They currently have the spacesuit that first set foot on the moon only a few feet from the Wright brothers flier. Impressive to be at both ends of history in just a few steps.

Sharon Cabuguason

This is the place that you should not pass if you visit Washington DC. You will see sculptures, buildings architectures, historic insights, war memorials honoring ordinary soldiers and also the famous Abraham Lincoln memorial where you will see written on the wall his famous speech. We didn't leave without reading all of it. The great statute is a remembrance of how he had been instrumental in keeping peace not just in US but also within other countries.

Bryan Free

Enjoyed visiting and getting off my but list. A very big building for the 1 statue. Fun, but I probably would not visit again.

Damon Allison

Of course the mall is a must see if you are in DC. Great sight seeing. The only downside we had at the mall were all the food trucks blasting their carnival music. The cross streets were lined with food trucks, which is no problem. Many were blasting music which killed the patriotic mall vibe.

Michael C.

All the museums are free of charge. This is a place that all Americans should visit at least once in their lives, but with so many free museums it is also an enjoyable place to come back again and again.

Millie Kwan

The National Mall is a must see when in DC. Great to watch people as they go by and all the people from the US and many other companies. Also you can see all of the great Smithsonian museums including the new African American museum and the National Gallery of Art. The Capitol is also on the Mall and the National Monument. The Metro has a stop that comes right up in the center of the Mall so very convenient.

Jay Dub

It is the best collection museums and monuments in the city. Very safe and policed by multiple agencies. It is perfect for visiting tourist!

C C Anthony

Great place for all Americans , black and white. We need to know our country's history in order to understand how it shaped our nation. This place takes you on a journey that leads you to understand this country

Becky

Always something to see. Love this country. History needs to be taught to our kids. If not same mistakes are repeated. Keep our feedom.

Mdoc 1970

Wow, such a beautiful place to go and visit! I went also to the National Geographic Museum and the African American Museum. I loved how beautiful the city was.

Danny Moore

United Stated History at its finest. I highly recommend budgeting for a tour that allows you to get on and off. The walking is too much for an average person. Other than that, absolutely fantastic.

David A.

Words can't describe how special this place is. You can feel the importance and the years of history that demand your attention.

Joseph Musembi

This place is a must if you visit Washington DC. There are sculptures, architectural buildings, historic sights, war memorials honoring ordinary soldiers and also the famous Abraham Lincoln memorial where you will see written on the wall his famous speech. Martin Luther famous quotes are also inscribed nearby in Martin Luther King's memorial.

Eileen Taylor

How do I described such a Historic, fascinating area? There are no words. There's a free bus called the Circulator that makes going from place to place very easy. I recommend the metro to get there. Be ready for a lot of walking.

Christina Wieser

What an amazing and huge park! It is so much to see. I recommend to take a bike or a scooter because it is a really long way to walk through the whole park! When we were there it was so hot! So dont forget to bring enough water with you! It is definitely worth going/biking through the whole park!

John H

Beautiful grassy area filled with powerful monuments and statues and pools. Highly recommend Lincoln memorial, Washington monument, Vietnam war memorials (not just the big triangular black slabs, but also the statues of three soldiers and separately, three field nurses. Korean war memorial is pretty moving also. WARNING. THE DISTANCES BETWEEN LANDMARKS ARE LONGER THAN THEY LOOK ON THE MAPS. Also several museums.

Susan Sisco-Berry

Every American owes it to her/himself to visit here at least once! It's a beautiful reminder of what freedom costs and offers a chance to reflect and pay respects to all that have served.

Cameron Burke

Great staff on hand, with knowledgeable advice and direction! Refreshments intermittently available at a perfect distance. Enjoyable for all ages when planned appropriately!

Troodon Rex

Such a wonderful destination for both tourist and locals alike because there is so much to see and so much to do on the national mall. So many museums to enjoy with the family and I recommend you do at least 2 museums a day so you get enjoy the wonders of each museum. There is a free shuttle bus that would take you to the wharf.

Mike MC

The National Mall is simply a stretch of grass along which you will find most of the Smithsonian Museums and a few others. One end is the Capitol building which is well worth a visit. At the other is the National Monument again is worth going in

Mike Freeland

Amazing to see some of America's best monuments and memorials. Absolutely beautiful at night. Only wish they banned scooters in the area. Very disheartening to see the headlights of the little scooters zooming up and down the walkway of the Vietnam war memorial.

Michell Gilman

This was my first visit to DC & I loved it. I came here for the Apollo 11 tribute & it was amazing. I can't wait to come back to explore more!

Christopher

Our National Mall is a very nice place to reflect on how great or country is. The monuments, White House and Capitol building are so inspiring. We go there often to take in the sights and visit the museums. Proud to be an American!

sandeep patel

It's in Washington capital of USA nice and must visit place.its very huge campus there are many things and museum there to visit. Specially if you are interested in USA history. There is space museum which is must visit place.

Jorge Brown

It's my earnest opinion that great countries are built through clear and pristine values that are reflected as the highest ideals and visions. Without doubt USA and Washington are founded in this manner following the steps of the Greeks, Romans, France and now USA. As I write think that Washington was modelled on the Roman tradition and the inclination towards military and strong engineering showcase this. National Mall thus reflects majestic vision of USA ideals and aspirations. Lincoln monument is for me, the most inspiring one.

Randy Wilson

If you're in DC you need to go to the mall. What a lovely outdoor space. If only every city valued art and open green space as much as DC

Stivalis Cardenas Garcia

It is a wonderful place. So much to see, too many places to visit, but never enough time. I will definitely go back to finish adventuring through all those museums.

Joe Watson

Awesome place to visit. Everything is within walking distance of each other. Once we got off of the Metro, everything was right there. The Capitol is on one end of the Mall and The Washington Monument is on the other. You can't get lost!!! All of the Smithsonian Museums run along The Mall. They are all free. You must go through security in every building, but it is not too difficult. It is tough to go through it all, and we were there for an entire week. The memorials are all down past The Washington Monument starting with the amazing and incredible World War II Memorial, you can see the National fountain and The Lincoln Memorial from there as well. Fun tip, if you have the National Park Passport book, you can find Every stamp found in The National Capitol Region at the Washington Monument visitor center. There are many different information stations in the open area of The Mall where you can ask questions, get maps, and any help that you might need.

Jim Baskin

Great to see. Hot in the afternoon but still a great sense of history and a relaxed setting. Lincoln Memorial was very impressive.

Stephenie Shepherd

What an amazing place. Lots to do and see. Learn about our great country.

kelly palmer

Lots of things to do everywhere! Monuments, museums, the atmosphere , people and the food trucks make this place a huge tourist attraction. Good luck parking.

Prem Hejmadi

Well maintained, neat and historical. Involves lot of walking to enjoy the place fully. Camera and water are a must.

Karin Randolph

I'm from Houston and will definitely tell anyone from the south you will appreciate the lovely change of season along with the rich history all around. I dig the beautiful buildings.

La'Teasha Townes

Had a good time. I recommend anyone to visit this area. It was fun and very exciting.

Fatma Madouh

Lovely place for walking, picnic, trying your kite, playing soccer. Beautiful in spring, summer and fall. Nothing much to do in winter except if it is not too cold and it is sunny you might have a quick picnic. There are lots of free museums around here so lots to do or see. You can also visit Lincoln's memorial or take nice shots outside the capitol

Matt Amato

So much to see and do at this National treasure! Combine this and the other local monuments with visits to one or more of the incredible Smithsonian Museums (which are free!). What a wonderful and economical way to take in our country's history!

Paul Derby

Sunset and night time are great times to explore the National Mall and see the beautifully lighted buildings and monuments. Don’t miss the Korean War monument that is tucked away by the Lincoln Memorial. The statues of soldiers are particularly striking at night.

Dwayne Pagon

Absolutely beautiful. So many free museums near by pop in a check them out. Or just have a picnic on the lawns of the Mall with the family

Steve Myers

Fabulous spot to visit. An incredible portrayal of American History just as astonishing design and figure. Additionally extraordinary yard space for an image. Park seats and neighborhood sustenance just as nourishment trucks. Can lease bicycles and bikes to rapidly get around. Historical centers are free and furthermore astounding. Exceptionally suggested.

Bedredin Celina

Very interesting sights with the Captiol and across from it the Washington monument and the Lincoln statue. In addition there are many of the best museums in the world here. The Smithsonian museums are worth your time and they have free entry. If you want to see all the museums plan at least 2 or 3 days of just museum visiting! Best museums in my opinion are the Natural History Museum, Air and Space Museum and American History Museum. But if you want to know all of them visit the Smithsonian castle to get the guide to all the museums!

Tonya Reid

Loved it great piece of history. Climbed the steps to the Lincoln Monument and the steps were a piece of cake to climb, it's just when you see it in movies or TV it seems like a lot of steps. Enjoyed my visit.

Gregory Stiller

Enjoyable four days in the District .Got in a few miles. Paying for it now. Now enough benches. As I told one lady the park bench became my favorite site in D. C. Free bus was nice.

Jessica Ericson

Great experience. Do glad these museums are free. Went from one to another got a great few days

Kara Hunter

It was a wonderful experience getting to see the National Mall and all of its gorgeous buildings. I hope to be able to come back some day. There is just so much to see and do in DC that we couldn't possible see everything in the week that we were there.

I M

You take a stroll on a spring day or mild summer or rejoice the snowfall in winter in the mall and you can soak in the history; enjoy the free museums; get close to the powerful. Views are amazing. Only thing is, parking. If you snag a good parking, then everything is amazing.

Hannah Mitchell

We love taking our puppy there and going for runs. It can definitely get busy during tourist season but overall it is very well kept. The scooters are a fun addition- just make sure your riding them on the sidewalk and not the actual monuments!

Daryl Austin

Best time to go is anytime. The Mall is a great place to take family or a romantic date. You have a plethora of things to do. Museums or restaurants or just the ambience of the surrounding view. Even if your from this area I think you would truly enjoy what you see.

Always worth coming here because of the variety of things to do in the area. It is motivating and provides a nice uplift. The grounds are lovingly maintained.

Laura Taylor

If you visit DC and don't go to the National Mall, does it even count? Obviously this is THE place to visit when sightseeing in DC - but it's not for the faint of heart, especially in the summer. Be prepared to walk a lot - things are further apart than they appear, and you can't just hop on and off the metro from place to place. But it's worth it! if you're lucky, a passing runner might even offer to take your picture.

Beautiful views of some of America's greatest buildings and monuments. Great park like setting. Although even though it was October, still seemed a bit swampy.

Beautiful place! Lots to see by just walking around. Great food trucks too. Electric scooters are a great way to go around.

What a great way to spend a October day! No long lines and the weather was great! The best time to visit!

Very beautiful area. It was so fun to look at the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial ,and the reflection pool. It has personally been a dream to go and see the reflection pool and I did it.

The biggest mall I've ever been to but I still couldn't find a Tower Records or Spencer Gifts anywhere! Hahaha. Wonderful walk on a beautiful day. Just look, read and absorb.

After a long walk visiting museums, nothing better than a meal in one of the places located in the park. The preparations are delicious and quite cheap. There are different varieties of hot dog, salad or sandwich. Also ice cream and drinks. You have to line up for your order and when they deliver it to you, you can sit at one of the tables that are around the shops. It's summer and spring is very nice, of course you have to be patient because there are always a lot of people, mainly tourists.

A great place for historical and architectural buffs. A wide variety of subject matter that allows one to appreciate the historical reverence/significance of events, places, timelines and people that contributed to this nation's history. It also serves as a beacon for world cultural connections.
