If you like early American history you have to visit the Crypt. I literally stumbled on this.

I am not sure the stars really matter here -- the whole campus was amazing, and the crypt was an interesting part of the naval history there. John Paul Jones was a fascinating character whose remains were relocated to the crypt below the cathedral. The tomb is ornate, marble with dolphins, and JPJ's history can be found on the walls encircling it. Worth visiting if you enjoy random historical tidbits!

Attention to detail is amazing. What a great opportunity to honor the first Navy officer in the US's brand new Navy. We loved the breadth of information included.

I've not yet begun fighting.... Bring your IDs to get on base, there's a handicap entrance around the right if the church that takes you strait to the crypt, also it's ok if you are not with a tour, just hang back, and wait for them to go, then follow. If you enter cathedral go up and make a left then take those steps down.

(Translated by Google) The crypt where the hero of the American revolution is buried, the father of the US Navy, the Scotchman, the admiral of the Russian empire, awarded Catherine II to Ochakov. The world is small, the story is common. Located on the territory of the academy, you need a passport to visit. (Original) Крипта, где похоронен герой американской революции, отец флота США, шотландец, адмирал российской империи, награжденный Екатериной-II за Очаков. Мир тесен, история у всех общая. Находится на территории академии, для посещения нужен паспорт.

The crypt is amazing. The fine workmanship and attention to detail is phenomenal. A must see if your visiting the campus. This is my third visit to it. Use to have a honor hard. But our leadership deemed it unnecessary. For some reason traditions seem just to be fading away.
