We have driven from Aiken SC to Fort Kent Maine on US Route 1. It has been an awesome trip and I have loved every mile.

Amazing place to get to see. Most people seem to go to the other end of Hwy 1 and take bragging pictures, be different like me and go see this end... LOL... Very nice!

Very disappointed in this site. The town was fine, People were fine. Display was Fine, The other end of Route #1 (Key West) Did a much better display. Drove 4 hours to try and find this and asked 6 different people where it was and got blank stares and had no idea what or where. Lucky the town office was open. We could not even find a place in town that sold SOUVERNIES . Had to have one made at a T-Shirt printing place.

If traveling the entire route 1, really fun stop. Town is cute but dying. Not much else to see or do in town. Outside of town forest galore with lots of great hiking and camping.

What a nice place to visit! The beginning of U.S. Route 1 in Fort Kent, Maine! Beautifull views of the Border between Clair, New Brunswick and Fort Kent, Maine! International Bridge and The St. John River. The river was very high when we visited. Good Parking and a staircase to walk up to see accross the river. I recommend visiting this place! And also if you can make it to key west Florida to see the end of Route 1. My next road trip!
