My daughter and I went through the butterfly garden a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much. The tapestries/artwork were beautiful and unlike anything I've ever seen. The plants and flowers are from all over the world. I encourage anyone who enjoys nature to visit.

I really enjoyed this experience. This was my first time going into the River Gardens. The butterfly area was full of exotic plants and beautiful butterflies. To early for the outside garden to be in full bloom but sill relaxing to walk around. The kids all enjoyed being so close to the butterflies. I hope to get to go back when the outside garden is at its best.

This is a nice though small place to visit. It is free with the zoo ticket which is also top notch.

Nice scenery with green and blue environment in Indy downtown. Good place to exercise and spend an evening. Well maintained. Connected to white river and Indy zoo. Garden looks but antique but clam and quite place to relax. The butterfly arenas are worth to enjoy.

This is a really nice indoor and outdoor garden. We went after we went to the zoo and it was a nice way to wind down. The butterfly garden is really cool. The outdoor area is really awesome. It feels like an old fashioned British outdoor garden. You get in free with zoo tickets I think.

If you go to the zoo, you can also hit the gardens with your ticket. The butterfly garden is magical. Walking through the rest of the garden is a great way to unwind. If you're planning an outdoor wedding check out the wedding garden. Even if you can't afford to rent it, it could give you some great diy ideas.

This is such a beautiful place! I think if you wanted to get some nice family portraits taken, this would be a really nice setting for that. Everything was very clean and well manicured. I wish we had more time to spend here.

Peaceful and beautiful. Love the sitting areas and the labyrinth (though we wish it were larger). The flowers are so pretty. They do offer events such as weddings at this location.

The kids loved getting to see the butterflies! While in the garden we got to see a lot of natural wild life. It's a nice break from the zoo and a fun place for the kids to be kids. Tons of great photo spots too

I love this place. Beautiful plants, butterflies, and landscaping. If you haven't been here it's one of the best things to see in Indy, come check it out. Great for kids and by coming here you will be supporting the conservation efforts of the zoo!

We visited mid- March...Wonderful indoor tropical oasis..gorgeous tropical plants...white river garden is free with purchase of the zoo entrance ticket.....additional 10$ you have to pay for parking...however, we have seen people entering white river garden without buying zoo ticket...they just paid parking fee and entered white river gardens from the separate entrance...I'm not for sure if that's because is out of the season or is it a year around thing... ....

Sawa dead possum or it was just playing possum. When is it appropriate to type opossum? Anyway this park is okay. There isn't a swing set but you can easily get high here. No narcs allowed. Sneak into the zoo while you're over there.

If you are going to the Zoo then a must stop is White River Gardens. At very least the outside portion that is free to explore. There is awesome gardens, sculptures, and exhibits to explore. It is much less busy than the zoo beside it. Definitely stop by and check it out.

Loved walking first through to see the butterflies and then the beautiful gardens! Every time I walk the gardens I notice something new! Definitely great to visit when the fountains are on and a great place for kids to visit. Love the gardens!! Make sure to be gentle with the butterflies, too.
