Richard L. Dunnam

Super cool place. A safe haven to play as you like. Awesome sets. And you gotta see Neil Peart's R40.

Jason Crook

Cool place to go spend some time with your kids it's super cool.

randal olson

Fantastic experience ! Equal enjoyment for kids and adults .

Louis van Belle

Kids loved this place. They could hang on the drums and play around. They even provide earplugs!

Allison Russell

Such a unique place! Our children got to enjoy a day of learning through play. We went on a day when it was raining and our kiddos were a bit stir crazy at home. The cost can't be beat; $12 for anyone 18 and older, $5 for ages 6-17 and free for anyone 5 and under. This was the second time our oldest has been there and it was like a whole new adventure everytime. Our youngest at 6 months was even able to find a bit to play with and make some music. Our middle child who is the most fearless had the most fun and ran from one percussion instrument to the next and had a ball. It is definitely worth a trip or two or even ten!

Michael Tate

Went right at opening time with 5 and 8 year old kids, so there was no crowd. The Center has a number exhibits which tell the history of drums in different cultures, the science of percussion instruments, and how the instruments are used in film making. This part is interesting, but you move throughout it pretty quickly. The best part of Rhythm is the hands on interaction with the drums. There is a section in the back with two sound proof rooms where your family can play as loud as you want. The Center itself is new and everything looks quite nice. We had a blast, but go in expecting to only take 1 to 2 hours.

Tabitha Jackson

My girls love that they can touch almost everything at Rhythm! However it is small.

Joe Young

Loved the Neil Peart R40 Kit..

nate998877

Really cool experience at a reasonable price.

Yvette Keene

Get ready for some noise. They have earbuds for free and earmuffs for little people. My kids had a blast. We definitely went through the whole Museum quickly though. It would be great if they offered headache medicine for the parents lol. Bathrooms were clean and they have water fountain. Drinks aren't allowed which is understandable but with little people extremely hard. Not much staff walking around. Had to go look for someone a couple times.

Santhosh Arasan

Never knew there were so many percussion instruments. The best part is that you can try most of the instruments and kids enjoyed it!

Melinda McWhorter

Interactive and awesome!

Paddy B.

So much fun! Came here on a high school band trip, definitely a highlight

Mishka Mishka

Little bit expensive. Great place to visit with kids, especially those who like percussion

Matt Vipond

Great destination for the kiddos when in Indy!

Steve Pressnell

Love this place, our three year old loves exploring here!

Justin Johnson

It was raining on a Saturday morning, so I decided to take my 4 yr old son to Rhythm! I couldn't have made a better choice. This little enclave of drum heaven is truly a gem. Amidst the hustle & bustle of the mall area, this place is located in the same building as Panera, but has its own unique walkway to reach the center. First and foremost, the staff was courteous from the moment we walked in. The center is designed in a way that leads you around a circle in order to explore the various drum-related activities. Due to this factor, you never feel cramped even though the center is not that large in size. There are more drums located within those walls than I had ever seen in my life, and my son had an amazing time playing the different instruments. Rhythym! provides kids with a safe and creative space to enjoy music.

Brian Brooks

Great place to visit for all ages. Lots of hands on to interact with and even two studios to play full drum sets. Visited with two adults and two teens and all had fun.

Nevaeh Wiley

I loved coming to this place, I love it! I have went here about 14 times. I love playing Star wars music on the mallets. 5 star from me

Donna Baumgardner

Good place for families to go

Keirstin Minton

Very fun time for the three-year-old birthday girl and all of her family and friends. I liked that the set up was very spread out in the kids were able to play with a variety of instruments, especially the drum circle!

Neil Farr

Visited Indy so many times and didn't realize this place existed. I started drumming a couple of years ago, but whether a beginner, expert or someone who never played before in their life, this place is a great way to spend an hour or two. Pretty much anything you can hit to make a sound (including giant cymbals, wood blocks and more) as well as classic drum kits (and even one made out of Lego) are here. And much of it you can have a.go on!

Dale Miller

Great great venue. Outstanding choice for any size group or gathering. Corporate or personal. Really immersive and touch OK kind of museum, touring spot for any gathering or entertainment. Thanks for being a great place.

Amber Alford

Fun for all ages! At first I thought it was too small, but there are so many instruments to play. In the end, it was just right.

Michael Dowden

Always love our visits here. It's very educational, with information about music and instruments around the world and over time. But there are many hands-on opportunities as well, including a gong near the entrance and two practice rooms with full drum sets. Many percussion instruments here you won't find together in other places. Great for kids and adults alike.

Brittany Hankins

I unfortunately was pretty disappointed with my visit today. I came to Rhythm! Around 4 and 8 years ago and it is nothing like it used to be. The mirror wall is gone, there was no audio playing for any of the videos to teach you about percussion, as well as the screens being so dark you could barely see them.. the big wall of auto played instruments (you pressed a button and it played the instrument) was gone.. the celestaphone didnt have its own special place like it used to, and looked to be in less than good condition. Overall the museum felt empty. There didnt seem to be a learning aspect about the place like there used to be. I brought a future percussionist there (along with 7 other people over the years) to learn and she didnt get to do much of that. I used to adore the museum but I'm not sure I'll be bringing people back after this time.

Karyn G

All of us enjoyed placing the different drums and percussion instruments.

Brittany Crawford

We took a few youth from our church and they had a blast!!!!!

Barbara Ellis

Fun for ages 2 to 68!

Robert Edwards

Exciting kid friendly extravaganza!

Aaron Martin

This place is a hidden gem. The kids had a great time and there is enough to keep adults interested as well. Well worth a visit.

Brian Baxter

It was awesome! My daughter loved it - it’s great for kids and adults.

Laurel Blough

Fun to do even with my fourteen-month-old. It was not busy and had enough interactive things to do. The air conditioning was broken though, so I hope they get it fixed soon.

Lawana Penrod

I have two special needs children and they love being able to roam around and bang on the drums and other percussion instruments!

Nancy Belcher

Loved this place! Went on a Monday early afternoon. Very few people there. Lots of wonderful interactive displays and an activities. The 4 year old has a great time!

Jackie Albright

We ABSOLUTELY love this place!!!! Had the best time ever and my kids are in college!! I highly recommend this museum if you are visiting Indy or just feel like banging on some drums. This is an Indy must do!!!

Bertha Mac

My grandson and his friend loved their visit. They had arranged activities for the kids to learn about drums .we all sat in a drum circle. The kids as well as the grown-ups, got to practice playing drums in the special drum room. To see all the different kind of drums that exist around the world was educational and fun.

Terry Denslow

Worth the time and money spent. (For me and my family. )

SharkyPlays 037

Really admersive and interactive

Lynn Tolan

Great for everyone! Educational and interactive. Live jazz music on MLK Jr Day which we enjoyed. We'll head back for more exploration.

Miranda Potts

My daughter loves it here. It’s a great time and a great value.

eric burgeson

Had my kid's 4th birthday party there. Great for all ages!

Stephen Kapalko

Entertaining and fun for the whole family- the Rythm! Discovery Center is in the heart of Indianapolis, giving you a brief period of time to enjoy some fantastic percussion history and instruments. As a percussionist, I absolutely loved it, between the playable drumsets, electronics, mallet instruments, etc, this was a great experience.

Metal head Dad

My boys absolutely love this place. Kids are encouraged to interact with almost all of the displays. Is a wonderful place to let kids discover music and have a ball. We make a point to visit every time we are in Indy.

Don P Price music

Absolutely love this place! Saw Kenny aronoff drum last night . Ive been drumming for almost 50 years. Very exciting place. Ill be back !!!

Sarah Diane Salisbury

Fun place for kids (or kids at heart) to explore percussion sounds and instruments. Many hands on exhibits!

michael lillis

Amaizing place to get my drumming fix while visiting! An amazing collection!

Backwards Rabbit

This place is amazing to me. the practice rooms are nice and have different reverb settings. the electronic drums are fun. there are many really cool and some very old looking drum kits on display. have to say I am in there every chance I get. I have never encountered any rude employees or customers. Debbie at the front desk always informs me of any activities going on or any days the place may be closed. just a great place. indianapolis has a lot of bad areas and a lot of crime and with that not too many things to keep youth busy or heading in the right direction. seeing places like this is great. I wish we had more things around to spark curiosity and keep people occupied.

yun-yi lin

What a fun respite from a long convention!

Rajeev Dhanawade

Great place for kids to get to know about rhythm and percussion instruments. Smaller kids may be scared of the loud sounds especially from the gongs.

lemonshakeup !

Have a kid whole likes to beat things!! Percussion from all over the world!! Bang your head kid!!! Love the energy of this place!

Kylie Lockett

Awesome little museum to take the kiddos. It’s economical to get in and it’s great for a variety of ages. It’s nice that it’s attached to the mall because you can get something to eat for lunch and then take the kids down the escalators at the mall. It’s a hidden gem in the city I think. It was under construction the last time I went which it definitely needed. I’m sure they made it better with the remodel. Totally recommend it!

bRiT Brit

Had fun. They have live performances here also

LaCrisha Wallace

Interactive museum?? More like total fun for the entire family. We spent over 2 hours here so I bought the annual membership

Sarah Chang

So much fun for all ages!!! Brought my two year old and my 81 year old grandmother. We LOVED it. Very educational and tons of fun. Very reasonably priced too. We will absolutely be back.

Kiera Kurak

A fun place for kids to learn about percussion instruments and how professionals drum. Very clean and well organized.

Rafael Negron

If you love or even just like music then this is the spot for you. It was smaller than I expected, but it was still enjoyable. The entrance fee was very reasonable. You get to play with a lot of the instruments there. I really enjoyed myself. My two year old niece was scared at first, but once she got over that initial fear, she had a big smile and couldn’t wait to touch the next instrument and make noise.

Alice Smith-Goeke

So wonderful! Great Hands-On opportunities. Sometimes it's just fun to be loud. I think the drum circle is my favorite.

Francisco Quiroz

Kids had a ton of fun trying all the different percussion instruments.

Kristen Gamelin

Great place for kids to hang on a bunch of drums! They have a huge gong and 2 sound proof rooms with drum sets in them and another space with a ton of different instruments for the littles to play!

Mark Fairchild

One of the best interactive experiences in the Indianapolis area. I have taken my child there for years and it still ranks very high on his "What do we want to do today?" list. It is a lower cost option for downtown fun, with roughly two hours of entertainment to be had. Try to plan a visit around one of their days featuring live entertainment for an even more enjoyable and immersive experience. A great choice to bundle with other downtown activities for a day of exploring Indy.

Deanna Franklin

My 13month old son who loves music and drums absolutely had a blast. We spent about 2 hours here letting him play everything he could. We were going to visit the children's museum but didn't know it was closed on Mondays so a waitress suggested this place. We're so glad we went because it was perfect! It's definitely an awesome place to visit. We wish they had one in Louisville, KY. We would go weekly because it was that much fun!

rkarra1

Really fun interactive museum about percussion. Loved seeing the historic drum sets, especially the Neil Peart one

Allison Burgeson

Had my daughter’s 4th birthday here. Great place for kids to explore.

Dominik Garcia

It was a lovely experience. There were some exibits with the history of different drums and what they were used for, as well as some drums of importance. They had different "play areas" were you could play some of the instruments and try them out. There many things around the walls that showed how to play certain instruments. The staff was friendly, and welcoming. While the gift shop was a little lacking, they still had some really cool things! I wish they did have practice pads that weren't just the portable one that go on your knee. I wish there was some expansion on the percussive arts overall. There was a focus on more of the concert aspect, and nothing about drum corp., street drumming, WGI, or other activites like such. Overall, it was a fun experience. I would recommend it to those vaguely interested in drums and experienced drummers alike.

Trevor Wein

Amazing stop... fully interactive displays. Perfect for any percussion enthusiast.

Chrissy Mullin

We went on a field trip. It was really informative and fun.

P Dubbs

Wednesday night karaoke

alivia 07

I had a great time with my daughter and will go back again with the rest of the children

Tj Allen

It's a fun place with a lot of hands on Percussion instruments.

Shawn Miller

A fun experience. Lots of unique drums to see as well as lots of percussion instruments to play.

Jeannine C Lester

Enjoyed the history lessons and the entertainment.

Jordan Light

We wanted a place to spend our afternoon in Indianapolis that our 3 year old and 1 year old would enjoy that wouldn't cost a fortune. The Rhythm! Discover Center fit the bill perfectly. Kids under 5 and under are free and while the the Discovery Center isn't that big, there's enough to do that you could easily spend an hour or two there, especially on a day when it's not too crowded. There's lots of different percussion instruments; lots of drums, cymbals, drum kits, a xylophones, and much more. The kids especially enjoyed banging on the pots and pans, as well as the nook filled with smaller instruments. The exhibit on electronic drums was pretty cool too. And let's face it, even as an adult, banging on drums is a lot of fun

Bernita Glover

Amazing experience.

Drew DeMeester

Don't expect a wow - it is a bit small, but we found it quite interesting and worth our time and would recommend to anyone that has any interest in music and rhythm.

Adam Kuhn

Love banging on things and love Rob funkhouser. This place is banging. I also love boomers and long walks around the city with earbuds in but not listening to anything.

Garth Campbell

A really fun musical experience great for kids and families

Asma Salek

Good experience specifically for kids and young crowds where you get to play the drums together. It is not very big but is a fun experience. The price is reasonable, they have student discounts. They have sounds proof rooms for drums and hand sanitizer after you touch all the utensils which can carry lots of germs. Worth a visit.

Matt Eisenbraun

If you're into rhythm-

Mike Condon

Very unique!

Todd Joseph

I took my 70 year old parents, 2 year old son & 11 year old niece and we had an absolute blast. This place is very cool and has so many different types of instruments to play. We especially loved getting a family jam inside one of the sound proof studios. I highly recommend this place.

tom russo

A fun, hands-on museum where you can make lots of noise! I had as much fun as the kids did. We spent about 3 hours and had had the opportunity to use all the playable instruments.

Olivia Underwood

This hidden jem holds a wonderful collection of percussion instruments through the ages and around the world. Visit for hands on learning including drum circles

I Come From The Mountain

Lots of fun and a energetic staff. I would give it 5 stars if there were just a little more to do. It's a quick visit, you might get 2 hours out of it. They have some cool exhibits but here too they could have MORE!

Mike Rettig

A fun and interactive place to explore the history of drums and percussion.

Javier Gonzalez

Very interesting, loved it, though the interactive exhibits are a little worn out and abused (guess that's par for the course of public drums)

Blair Helsing

One of the world's best museums for anyone who enjoys music and especially those who care about drumming and drums.

Geoff McCuen

It's worth a visit. I'm glad we checked it out. It's got some great information and neat history. The unrestrained kids beating on all of the interactive displays was a bit much. Their parents were making no attempt to actually teach them anything. (For example, two kids throwing drum sticks at the top of a drum to see how far they could make them bounce across the room.)

Amanda Ortiz

There were so many percussion instruments here. Instruments made of wood, skin, and metal. We tried them all! We must’ve banged on every drum, shaken every tambourine, and played every xylophone in the place! We really loved the interactive tribal-like circle featuring the many percussion instruments created by The Leedy Drum Company, a company that began in Indiana. Their Interactive Area was also a lot of fun – I can see many field trips having a good ol’ loud time here. So many instruments to choose from. Believe me, my son tried them all! Probably our favorite parts of the museum were the sound-proof rooms that allowed you to play a real drum set and be as loud as you wanted to be – we felt like rock stars! Handy Tip: Visit this museum late in the day. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing and had the entire museum to ourselves. I’m sure it’s very noisy (and migraine-inducing) at peak times.

David Noggle

Really cool place! Lots of fun for kids too!

P Gallegos

This is a fun place! I loved the opportunity to play so many types of percussion instruments!

Chris Jeffery

This was a blast and well worth it! Also, it isn't a huge museum, which is nice if you want to burn off some energy with the kids not have to trek 5 miles when they are done.

Denise Clark

My kids loved it. Mother nature took some effect of their pipes so there was no hot water in the bathroom and a mildew smell in the back parts but other than that it's great! It was the 1st time I had brought my kids. Their adult nights are FANTASTIC. Highly recommended

Melissa Richards

Went here for one of my son's field trip very fun place to be. Just hard to find.

Jake Lazarus

This place is so much fun! From beginner to expert, anybody can appreciate this interactive museum, where you can learn about percussion throughout history, and play untold numbers of percussion instruments. Honestly, it's a blast!

Jonathan Freeman

My kids loved it! Lots of percussion history and hands on for the family.

Beth Bonk

This is a small museum. Percussion history is fairly well represented. We love being able to play and experiment with various drums and percussion instruments! Some things weren't in best working order but we still had a great time. Would love to go when there is a drum circle going on!

Dasmybabiesmoma

Not a huge attraction but very cool none the less. Interactive as it gets. Forces engagement from the kiddos.
