Very cool observation platform. My nephew loved watching the huge trucks work!

Small observation area where you can watch them working in the quarry. Surprisingly cool to see. Not something you can spend an hour at, but it's worth the drive to visit it. Kids would love this place but might lose interest quickly.

They've got an observation deck set up where you can get a good view of the whole quarry, and with all the fencing it's quite safe. Whether you are interested in the geology or the mining equipment, this is a sight to see. We ended up there on a day when they were not working and still enjoyed the experience, so I imagine if you can get there when the equipment is operating, it would be even cooler.

It's well off the beaten path. You really have to want it. There is no admission, no tour guide, in fact, there's no one around. But, if you want a great (but safe) look down into a huge working quarry pit, this could make your day. You get a clear view from the top of trucks and conveyer belts.

Deondra Hopkins

Awesome experience! Kids had lots of questions about the quarry

You can climb a staircase and watch them work the quarry. We stop by from time to time. My kids always enjoy it but it holds interest less then 5 minutes.

Drew

It's a bit off the beaten path, but if you're in the area and willing to take a 10-15 minute detour to get here, I'd recommend it. There's no cost, but be aware that the observation deck closes at sundown. As a parent, it's a unique place to take the kids to show them the huge machines that work in the quarry. To be frank, the scale is really pretty crazy. Trucks that have tires that are as big as my car, look absolutely minuscule when they're in the middle of the quarry. Just a unique place to check out for a few minutes, I still remember coming here with my Dad and watching the big trucks move, and happy that I can still take my kids here.

Tony Martin

Very beautiful spot to look at ,for being what it is it will shock you , just go see for your self the observation point is very cool .

Aimee Garrison

All around neat place! Very interesting to watch them work and cool to watch them blast if you get a chance to observe it. Free observation deck.

Amazing views. Lots of hawks gliding around just about everywhere. Would be nicer if it were a bigger observation deck, but hey, you can't beat the views for the price (it's FREE!!!) Had one of the employees from the Hanson approach me and offer me binoculars to use, which was definitely a bonus, as it made the hawk watching even better. I would recommend bringing your own binoculars to improve your experience instead of relying on the benevolence of others. Definitely can't see anything else like this around the Fort Wayne area, that's for sure.

Nunyabiz ness

Definitely a hidden gem!

Bret Hall

Pretty cool area.. Over looks a deep gravel pit.. Not much goes as scenery. But very interesting by the depth of the pit dug

Bryan Burgett

Very interesting. I never knew this place existed until a friend took me there. This would be a great place to bring kids.

Candace Zolman

Beautiful lookout. There were so many geese down in the water. This was about the only place that was not frozen.

Pam May

Interesting place to visit.

Stacy Merriman

Love the view; very peaceful.
