REVIEWS OF Eagle Creek Park IN Indiana

Scott Keller

Lake is really low this fall. Probably 5 to 8ft. I cant believe how much trash is in the lake and on the trails. Real classy people!

Kayli Cole

I always love bringing my brother's dog here. It is such a lovely park with tons of things to do! Great way to escape the world. :)

Theresa Melton

Excellent! We had too much fun. The facilities were all spotlessly clean. Many friends present. Thank you!

Lilac M.

I had a great time in here. The place is so clean and good place to walk around. Great place for group and pinic. Would definitely go again.

Kandy Trax Entertainment

I was SOO AMP up to actually get some time to go to Eagle Creek Park for the first time. I have family up from Florida and the family Kids. I've heard this was the place to go for outdoor swimming. Only $5 per vehicle was

Timothy Shockley

Good place to go and relax.. plenty of wildlife and nice trails

Marian Martin

Located only a stone's throw from downtown Indy, Eagle Creek is like having a state park in your backyard yet with urban resources easily accessible. We love the 2-3 mike loop that kicks off at the bird watching center and along the way, we pause to enjoy the scenery, listen to the lull of the waves and enjoy the birds. Simple pleasures, you guys.

Ernest Berman

Great for a hike in Indy. Clean and well maintained park.

Alana Lewis

So pretty, a wide range of activities for all age groups or even just walk/drive through to checkout the grounds. Be mindful of entry fee

Renaee Thompson

Nice location to have picnics, family gatherings, and etc. Eagle creek have playgrounds for children, you can get a shelter with large open space for other activities.

Norma Hernandez

Very clean and wonderful nature programs and recessional. Walkways and lake are safe and clean

Patricia Erwin

I really enjoy walking around the water. They have really put in a lot of work on that path. Go see it.

Ashley Honeycutt

If you like nature and hiking and live in Indianapolis you have to go here! Miles and miles of hiking trails. You can also kayak and fish in the large creek. There's lots of birds and the orinthology center where naturalists study and care for injured and sick wild birds like owls and hawks.

Amanda Millan

Love hiking the trails at this park. Its beautiful and peaceful.

tyler&angie Slayton

We love to come to Eagle Creek. We have 3 young children and they love it too. We see deer and other wild life. They also have playgrounds and picnic areas all over. They also have clean restrooms. Huge plus☺. Just an all around great place to visit

Heather Kennedy

my boys loved learning about the turtles, snakes, and frogs during their feeding time.

Dean Trester

Love Eagle Creek. So much beautiful nature contained in such relatively small space.

Bill Melvin

Beautiful venue for a wedding in the woods! Indiana didn't fail to impress, with beautiful Fall weather in a tree and leafy green backdrop for a spectacular wedding day. The banquet room was tight but cozy and the decor, cabin in the woods like. I highly recommend for anyone considering the perfect place to say their marital vows.

Chris Garnas

Really fun once we got over all the stupid stuff.. Lots to do. Pretty park. My complaints were... The bathrooms were the worst I've ever seen and I could smell them from 20 feet away. Literally feces in two of the stalls, on the floors. When I reported it to staff, they said it wasn't their job basically. Somebody else is responsible. Could I talk to them? No. Then the prices for activities were a bit ridiculous. One hour on a paddle boat was almost $40. And on memorial day, we weren't allowed to swim. It was almost 90 degrees out. Overall not that impressed.

Debra Edmondson

Beautiful park, bathroom could use some attention.

Kevin Perry

Years past while my mom was still with us she took me out to this park. It had a very good peacefully and scenic views for us to behold. Not to far far to get to and I'm glad she entrusted me to take the wheel and drive. Wish I took my camera but if I close my eyes I can still picture the beautifull enchanting views. It is probably one of the largest statewide. Worthwhile to stop in with family or friends. Thx mom.

Stephen Chapman

Great place to take the kids or go trail running or hiking - there's quite a bit to do here and it appears well maintained. The folks we met were friendly and the kids liked it.

Shayla Smith

One of my favorite spots near downtown to hike or kayak. A very flat trail for hiking if you’re looking for more of a scenic walk.

Rick Radcliff

We are trail runners for past decade and my first trip out to Eagle Creek since I ran a sprint triathlon a decade ago. Ran Blue trail today which goes around Lilly lake. Beautiful scenery and beautifully kept trail for hikers and runners. Good mix of some easy downhill to some up hill portions you might walk depending on how great of shape you are in. We will be getting annual pass now. Just moved down the Butler Tarkington area.

Martin Tellez

Eagle creek is a very good place to share time with the ones that you love, or just to relax by watching the waves of the lake

Ben Rogers

Only $50 gets you a season pass with year-round admission to the park! Our favorite is the blue trail, which winds in between the reservoir and ornithology sanctuary for 3 miles of great views! The park is dog friendly (remember to bring a leash) and the best way to spend a sunny weekend.

Mitch

Have been to this park multiple time for rowing completions. The park is well kept and the water is well cared for.

Ac Bivens

Just a place u can relax u can walk trails I love to take my kayak out here and just watch the Eagles in the trees

eric crowder

Great. Especially the guy in the yellow shirt. He parked us and was extremely polite. He directed traffic as we left very smoothly, with and smile and waved as we left. I hope he there every day. It was 1000 times better than yesterday. Thank you

Sinkum

This is the best city park in Indianapolis. It has everything you need at a park. Fishing, boating, (you have to launch your boat at the marina) it has been free but that may change. The park is great for biking and walking, and has zip lining. It's gets crowded on holidays but there is plenty of shelters and places to shore fish.

chris kirk

Love this place best kept secret in indy check out the birds great place to spend the day 5 bucks to get in awsome

Dorothy Salvo Davis

Clean and well kept. Your far from modern convenient spoils

Dawn Newerth

Lived in Indianapolis all my life and went their for the 1st time two weeks ago. beautiful beautiful beautiful. I was attending training at the Peach learning Center. Your GPS hates it but you'll love it.

Taylor Versino

Great park about 20 mins from downtown Indianapolis. Cost about $5 per car for residence and $6 for non. Small fishing lake. Boat Rentals. Lots of hiking routes. Can bike around, but only on roads. Rope climbing course. Rare to see animals besides small ones and hiking is pretty flat through the forest. Still worth checking out.

COMBATKIdo_ GOD

Amazing scenery, great for just about anything Exercise, cook out and swimming

Marc Parton

Great park beautiful grounds nice clean beach lots of hiking trails and fishing spots. Small boat rental.

Erica McCombs

Beautiful park. Well kept. Nature center is worth a visit.

Mark McGuire

Always a great place to get out. Only drawback is some people think there dogs are well behaved enough to be off leash when they are not that well behaved.

Angela Gaines

Great place for kids to learn about nature and birds. Nice trails for hiking

Jack Phillips

What a great park. We spent our time on the water, but looked like many trails. People were fishing and having a fun time. It was clean and well taken care of.

Nicole Harper

Visited in the summer. Rented kayaks, packed a lunch and enjoyed eating on the water. Perfect weather, friendly staff and rental was affordable and simple. Great place to bring the family for hiking, kayaking, exploring and picnicking. Kids will love this location!

Kandas J

Great during the day when you can read the signs. We need more signs, more lights or something to help get us through the park at night. Hay rides & bonfires are the best though!!!!

Mimi Z

Always a great experience their stay is wonderful and welcoming always a great visit and very clean.

Lookout Cam

Its not a safe city to visit.. Average night they have 5 or 6 murders

Bryan Rothrock

Lots of great trails and fun spots for a family picnic or get together

Kathleen Dudley

Wow, this park is huge. Nice picnic areas. We didn't get to see much, and we almost got lost. Would love to visit again.

Derek Wilson

Cool nature spot in the city. Feels like youre getting away from the madness of the city but you're still in indy

Rachel Effler

I love my local park. Trails are either easy or moderate. I wouldn't describe any as rugged. Great for bird watching and relaxing on a trail or two. Rentals are available. Lots of picnic areas and shelters. Support your local park!

Zoie Michelle

Really great place. Big with lots of trail, canoes, swimming, and fishing. Would be great for kids and adults. Admission is only five dollars (for county residents) and you can definitely get your moneys worth here.

Jordan Holle

Always a good time for me and the dog. Great trails.

Josiah Flores

It was a huge park with numerous trails and numerous things to do, from ziplining at go ape adventures Indianapolis. You can also get lost in the woods, see numerous wildlife in the lake where you can ride kayaks, canoes, paddle boats or pontoon cant miss this if you go to INDY

Chris Perry

The Red trail is so fun!

Neil A Ruch

Love this park! For the most part it’s always clean, only down side is sometimes there are homeless people here drinking their beers or hanging out. Overall, it’s kept up and a lot of my neighbors come here to take a walk with their pets. Love the nostalgic pics around the park too.

Burke Wilhelmus

The trails here are super clean, only saw one piece of litter my whole run

JEFFREY HALVERSON

Very nice place. I'm going back tomorrow! It is a huge and wonderful place to enjoy nature. Good job state of Indiana!

ct ct

Had a great time! Open space! Used the grill. Perfect weather! No issues with other people or wild animals!

DJ Kali9

What happened to this place? Came back here after 15 years now with my kids.. wanted to let them have an experience... Seemed incredibly unkempt... No beach area.. tried to go by the marina but it was more geese dropping than a manageable place to stand.. I was going to pay the 50 yearly fee glad I didn't and paid for one day.

Nkeiruka Joan Ekwealor

The park was nice. The staff was rude The shelter that was reserved was dirty. The bathrooms were locked and the electricity was shut off. The grill had huge holes in it so it couldn't be used. The trashcan at the shelter was already mostly full before we even arrived. Very disappointed especially after having to pay $6 just to enter the park per car after the cost of the reservation for the shelter. Very disappointed. Try to inspect the shelter before you reserve or at least find out if another park has space available.

Jordan Maust

Wonderful park. Tons of activities: ornithology center, go ape! treetop adventures, beach/lake, canoe/kayak rentals, hiking, yoga classes, etc. Tons of shelters for events, housed bathrooms, etc. It’s very clean and well kept. It was a bit confusing getting around, even with a map.

Alessandro Pia

My family absolutely loves this place. We're here at least twice a week running, hiking, walking, or picnicking! We definitely recommend the annual pass (especially if you can pick it up in advance at their Black Friday sale)!

kelly knox

This place is where I had my grandmother's who has passed 100 year birthday party and all the family was there we had a wonderful time

Mike Meding

My wife & son did a marathon This park is great Take the family

Declan Lopez

Great place for a quick hike if I don't want to drive farther to one of the larger State Parks.

Elizabeth Cook

Fantastic location to traipse about year round. Boat, SUP, and kayak rentals in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. The perfect place to unwind after a week in corporate life.

Angel Morales

Great State Park. Quick drive from Indy and surrounding burbs. Beach, reservoir, hiking trails, dog friendly. You can bike the roads but mountain bikes aren't allowed on the trails...hence 4 stars. Orontholgy Center is great as is the other facilities.

Jacob Darling

I love this place. Great hiking and canoeing

James Fan

Good place to handout with friends and family, 5$ entrance fees per car for local residents

Daniel Snyder

Great, large park to meet up and the playgrounds are great too!

Elizabeth M

Beautiful park with lots of trail options! We always take our dog there for walks. Some of the trails can get pretty muddy after a big rain (as one would expect), so just be aware of that

Jerry

Loved it. My daughter's and I had a great time on the paddle boats. Probably go back and rent kayaks next time

Sankaresh M

It's a wonderful place to be with family in weekend. There were fishing ponds, shelters, picnic tables and restrooms. Multiple trails are the highlights! We went on a blue trial-half forest and half prairie views!

Natasha Buck

Our family loves Eagle Creek. It's like a 2nd home in the summer time :-).

Clayton Lesak

This is a gorgeous park with many attractions such as a park, lake, pavilions, water fountains and multiple restroom facilities. There is plenty of wildlife to see as well as beautiful mature trees to admire. This park is great for trail running as well.

dragana polimac

Great park where you can spend the whole day in. There is a fee for entry. We arrived by car and are not residents of Eagle Creek so it was $6 entry for us.

Rhiannon Hair-How To's Newman

Ive been zipling there and it is out of this world.

benny18777777

This park is absolutely beautiful and I will definatly be bringing my family back here many times this spring and summer. Its a great place for walks and just getting outdoors and away from the city life and into nature.

Eric Litts

This is my sanctuary. I typically go to the nature preserve section in eagles crest portion. They have 12 miles of singletrack trails to run. The actual park has a ton of acreage, paved trails, kayaking, canoeing, and lots of areas to bring your dog and the rest of the family.

Jennifer Miller

Great for reunions and in the heart of nature! Beautiful setting!

Rob McEwan

Did a long hike here. Was there for the rowing nation championship, pretty area. Go Huskies

Kala Owens

Great little getaway from the day to day, and you dont even jave to leave the city. I come here to clear my mind and get some exercise. Lots of great activities for the whole family, very well kept, and always beautiful.

Shelley Siler

Beautiful, expansive city park with a state park feel to gather with friends and family, do a little fishing, hike, picnic and generally soak up some nature. Much more for us to explore on our next visit.

Kelly King

Such a beautiful morning! Love Eagle Creek Park!!!

Venkat Swaminathan

Great views. No crowds.

Kira Frendreis

It was an overall pleasant experience. I wish that there was a designated off leash dog beach area.

Selina Bradley

Love this place! Trails of varying difficulty, a beach, the nature center, bark park, the water rentals... can't say enough good about it! Only 4 stars because you have to pay a gate fee PLUS activity fees. Want to use the bark park? Gate fee plus bark park fee. The beach? Gate fee plus beach fee. I understand fees for rentals, but it really feels like nickel and diming.

Pam Kinslow

Great outdoor location, it was very hot...the porta potties were full of cobwebs...but we survived!

Lewis Notelling

Great park to run in main trails are well maintained

Dolly Niehaus

Quality of product seemed sub par when I visited this time. I hope this restaurant can stick with their high standards. I'm a regular visitor.

Michael Snyder

When you visit this beautiful idyllic setting, you may find yourself wondering how you could be surrounded by one million people in urban sprawl. Superb facilities & programs for young & old alike. It does cost a few Shekels to get in -- buy the annual pass -- visit a few times & you'll more than get your monies worth.

Celia Grove

even on a very hot day, the hike was great! Still have a lot more to see for next time

Jennifer Guyton

Took the kids fishing at Lilly Lake. Absolutely beautiful a d well kept.

Adam Jones

Beautiful park with wonderful trails, and easy to get to.

Alexis Villacorta

Haven't been able to find a good fishing spot here

Jason Best

Love this park! $5 per car entry fee but if you're going to come often there's a year pass available.

Ahmedullah Aziz

Nice place. Good for family and group picnic. Also have options for boat ride.

James Chmiel

This place is a scam. You have to pay $5 to get in. If you want to go swimming it’s $5 per kid and $6 per adult. Also, everyone has to take a swim test and EVERYONE has to wear a life vest at all times in the water. There is NO beach! 2 feet of sand is not considered a beach. Also there is goose poop everywhere and the tables are not maintained. Why pay $5 and another $5/$6 for a disgusting park.

Erin Mooney

Took our toddler for the first time. Spent most of our time at the Ornithology Center & walking the Bird Sanctuary loop. Easy to walk, even while carrying a kid.

Frankie Rodriguez

Went for the beach, small swimming area. Fee to enter the park and also fee to enter swimming area. Overall ok experience - BUT NO COOLERS ALLOWED? If you are going to spend a good amount of time there in 90 degree heat - coolers should be allowed.

Lori Senften

We walk our dogs on the longest trail here almost every weekend from spring until late fall. Eagle Creek does a great job of keeping the trails safe. It can be very muddy depending on how much rain we've gotten, so I recommend wearing a pair of hiking shoes for the trip. Plenty of bathrooms along the way, but you should consider bringing water.

Mark L Newman

Iggy loves running at the dog park!

Reva Pinkard

Found a quiet place to sit and fish, I enjoyed the early morning peace

Mary Gehret

Lots of hiking trails and picnic areas. Also contains a zipline course

Annina Rupe

Running and hiking trails in the middle of the city! Great escape.

Amber Shockley

It's got potential but I think its time you guys update the kid playgrounds & playground signs. This is Indiana and quite frankly our children deserve better than what they were dealt.

Noah King

Beautiful scenery. Peaceful lake. One of my favorite places for a hike

John Gunther

Nice place to visit and enjoy nature without having to travel too far!!!

Christina Timko

Awesome time and great place to spend the day...will be making more trips in the future. Definitely a hidden gem in the city.

latasha reed

Great place for gathering. We did a hayride and bonfire

Kristen Jackson

First time here. It was awesome. So much to do and see. They have walking and running trails. They have bike trails. Swimming (6 per person 2 and under free). They have a roped off area for swimming and then they also have some giant blow up things to swim on. You have to pass a 15 yard swim test to go on them. Plenty of parking some spots have grills. Such a beautiful place so many trees. Would be amazing in fall time.

Richard Schillen

Years ago there was a sizeable beach in Eagle Creek Park. Now one is only allowed to swim in a postage stamp sized area with a raft and screeching children jumping on and off it. I guess it must be the lack of funds to provide for better supervision of a larger swimming area. Not worth the money to take a dip in that little area.

J C

Fantastic place to spend the day with family!!

Sarah Kucherer

We visited the Ornithogy Center at this beautiful park today. It was very interesting and had friendly helpful experts.

C. Gabe Ramirez

Fun park with lots to do in it. Trails, lake, zip line. Download a trail map online so you can check out the trails before you enter. Also parking is all throughout the park.

Valeria Escobar

So many things to do! Kayaking, hiking, riding bikes, and just enjoying the park!

Allison Barbato

Such a beautiful park! There were tons of birds here, including bald eagles. The walkways were somewhat narrow and either gravel or dirt, so it would be a great place to talk your dog/go for a jog, but not biking/rollerblading. Definitely check it out in the fall of you have the chance!

Melodie Baker

The park is really going down hill in the last 6 or 7 years. It used to be my favorite park but hardly worth the price of admission.

Stephanie Galbreath

Beauty right at home in Indianapolis I would first like to say thank you the park ranger who helped me and my family last night although he seemed a little irritated... We got lost and was still in the park after closing he's a hero wish I knew his name thank you gate keeper ❤️

Walid Shuwayhat

Although we managed to visit late in the day we enjoyed the scenery. There were lots of people having great time and doing barbecue.

Tobé Ekwealor

I rented a shelter near a playground for a graduation party. I was provided a shelter with two grills that had holes in the bottom that made them useless. Had to go to another shelter and tote food back and forth because we had guests coming to this shelter. We had to use port-a-potties since the bathrooms were locked. We couldn't get the lights to turn for the shelter either. Terrible experience and a waste of money. I will never rent here again. The only positive was the park was pretty while driving to find the shelter.

Dawn Childress

Used to be a awesome beach years ago now you have to pay to much to swim in nasty water atleast they could have the employees net out the beach area before opening tree branches floating. Plus its overran by geese its disgusting you cant lay tour towels anywhere there is poop so bad it soaked threw my blanket and my towels

Chrissy Mullin

The nature center is nice. I like the bird observation area.

johnnie Cooper

It was cool for the kids needs a bigger swim area but decent for the price

Paul Maney

Spent a nice afternoon walking around the lake. It was very peaceful, not to busy. The trails are marked well.

alivia 07

The trails are my favorite. I love how the path stays clear so I can walk or ride my bike. I walked two miles yesterday as it was nice and hot the day after the storm.

Mr. WRIGHT

The staff is great the park is well taken care of and its a very nice place to enjoy

Brandon

Beautiful place to walk around and see nature close to home. Great to get your steps with a friend. There is an entry fee but it's not that much per car

Sydnee Allen

It's so beautiful here with many things to do including hiking, biking and boating.

Bonnie Heller

Very clean, lots to do here. Hiking biking, off road biking, canoe/kayak/paddle boat rentals. Picnic or cook-out. Extremely large for an in-city park. There is a ropes course and zipline located within the park as well. Could spend a couple of days here easily.

Anthony Petrosky

Great place for all ages. Trails can be muddy if it has rained within a few days but you cant be mad about mud being in the woods. Great views, great hiking and running trails. Do have to pay which is a setback forna state park but thats probably why it is so nice. And kids love the nature center.

Krystal Guerrero

The one swimming area at the park is super small. You can not use your own floating toys. There are no dog or coolers allowed in the area. If you plan to fish, boat/kayak, and swim you will be disappointed since you can only get the the swimming area through a gated area and it’s not where near a fishing or kayaking area.

aishat Adebayo

This is a wonderful park and they sure are beautiful sunsets

Andrea Hoyt

Beautiful park with great hiking trails!

David Warstler

Need attention given to eating areas.Trash cans and recycling ♻️ cans were overwhelmed in most areas. Natural areas for walking

Red Ellis

Very beautiful park and very cheap

Justine Ide

Very large park. No trails right by the marina. If you are coming to walk, the yellow and orange trails are in good shape even in wet weather because they have gravel and are frequently used. The discovery center is nice for kids and price is included with 5 dollar park admission. You can pay with card or check or 1 or 5 dollar bills.

Achoti Celeste Jones

This is a good place to exercise lots of people jog here and it cost $5 for residences a lil more for vistors from out of town

Elevated In Nature

Great get away in the middle of the city!!

Darrell Byndum

This is one of the more diverse parks in the central Indiana are. Fun walking/hiking trails, great fishing, cookouts, just a really large park with a variety of outdoor events.

Miss Andrea Reads

I liked the trails and the orthinology center!

Clarissa V

Beautiful place to go hiking with your dog and friends!

Jeff Lovelace

Nice people at the gate, huge park. Lots of trails that are marked by difficulty. The dogs had a great time. Just remember to bring a leash so they can't get lost.

Guadalupe Ramos

Love coming here. Came here to celebrate 2 of my boys birthday party, it's a great location to take pictures outside, just need a great photographer like me

Rex Jackson

Admission price of $6 is very reasonable. The shelter and restrooms were very clean and well maintained. The playground area was nice and the kids enjoyed themselves. The only drawback was the grass needed mowed where the kids played frisbee.

Patrick Reynolds

Nice clean park. Well maintained roads and trails. Great for all families for all ages.

Y Gen

Always great place to go for a long walk or run. Fit trail always fun but its under construction.

Lindsey Stewart

I went on a field trip with my daughter & her school and we loved it! We will be back to see everything we didn't get to see while we were there! Awesome park!

zulieka tillman

Love the scenic views, nature, and the peace that comes with being in a natural environment. The paddle ⛵ was amazing, and for an hour you can rent one that holds up to for people for 30.00 You can also rent patoon boats for 150. for two hours. Rent sup boards, bikes as well as kayaks.

Alex Hunter

All stalls were broken and a flooded drain spewed stuff to the point where half the bathroom was flooded and it stank. Decent park though, just a bad experience

Emma Girdley

Great place for kids and adults to learn, the hiking trails are definitely at a beginner level so everyone can participate.

Nyvonne Milton

The place is reasonable and pretty used by hundreds of people but the lakeside and swimming areas are beautiful

Sarah Salisbury

One of my favorite birding places in the state!

Ally Fleckenstein

Great park! Lots of things to keep you entertained. Home of Go Ape which is super fun for the family!

Tierra Jones

Great Family park! It offers hiking, boating, great nature preserve and education center. A fisherman's paradise. You will not see the same scene twice.

Justin Hunt

Great place to spend the afternoon with your family.

H. Anne Weiss

Next year it will be worth getting an annual pass. Love getting out on the water and feeling the air and sun on my face, but make sure to wear a hat, sunscreen, and other appropriate gear. The swimming area is only open until August first as of this posting date. Kids were HIGHLY disappointed and angry at me that the swimming area was closed on labor day weekend.

Shirley Dawson

Love goin to Eagle Creek it's just a beautiful place all year round

Marcy Kindred

Beautifully kept park and super pet friendly! Gosh I love this place, it is such a gem. It does not feel like you're in the middle of Indianapolis, it feels so rural and secluded. I definitely recommend relaxing by the water or walking your furry friends here!

Kareema B

Great place. Please update the trails, we got lost. Lol
