You know that we do not usually stop to give feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Great place to visit
For an out of towner, its cool and you can go take pictures or whatever with 30ft tall Superman statue. The whole Metropolis thing was adopted by the city just because the name was used in Superman's story. They do have a large museum on the square as well but we didn't go in there. After all, its not really a real story. I would recommend seeing it once just to say you have been there before.
Very cool attraction. But that's about it. Great photo opp. Very cute town. Small town feel. There was also a nearby shop/museum across the street. We didnt go in (crabby kids) but it did look very interesting. I loved the old buildings all throughout the small downtown area. Beautiful architecture.
It isn't real impressive but it's easy parking and easy to access. And the price of free is just right.
Had a wonderful experience with the family. Got amazing pictures of the statue!
Very neat must visit
What’s not to love about this place?!?! I felt like a big ol’ kid, magically transplanted into a scene from one of my favorite comics! I was geeked, in case the pictures failed to convey that. Lol! Fun times!
Great for take kids an grandkids to see.
Cool place to check out if you have a couple spare minutes. Won't take a bunch of time to get through, museum included
Seriously, best 5 minutes anytime.
It was pretty neat, some very cool things on display that for us older generation really takes you back.
Stopped for my daughter to get a pic.
It is a quiet nice place, where u can openly take pictures
The statue is located in a small quiet town. I visited on a Sunday, besides my fam and I, we only saw 2 more families, it seem we had the whole area to ourselves. Main attraction is the museum and the statue itself.
Stopped by while passing through. Very unique area. Novelty. Stop by for a nice break from the interstate driving. It is quite a drive from the highway but worth it. Definitely stop by the tourism gift shop there. Very unique Superman gear. Nice for collectors.
I lived an hour away for years, visited once. Now, I live here and drive by Superman statue often. In winter, Superman sports a warm hat, even. Historical aspect of the Man of Steel thru the ages is on display at the museum. Superman is something my Dad shared with me, and I shared with my son. An iconic Hero for the ages. I believe a man can fly!
We had a great time! The girls loved it!
Fun if you need to do a pit stop on a trip. Nothing exilerating, people.
The Statue was amazing. The superman museum next to it was also great so if you visit the statue go there as well. the staff was very nice.
Fun little area of the city.
Just love this statue and the town really plays up it's connection to Superman! I really recommend stopping by to see the statue and nearby museum!
Nice country town. The superman statue and stores were worth the stop.
Awesome time. A bunch of pictures taken
Superman stage was great. I remember watching g Superman on TV in black & white as a kid. My grandkids loved it.
It is a statue of Superman. The whole town embraces the comic books of DC and Marvel. Mostly DC because of Superman. Really cool place for anyone that enjoys comics and whatnot of all ages. The statue is a pretty good size and very easy to see from the roads.
Loved it!!! Been begging my husband to stop by so I can see it and he FINALLY surprises me on our 11 year anniversary trip!!!
The home of Superman in Motropolis I'll. The Stature was larger than life. Wonderful
A lil smaller then I thought it would be... But great spot to take pictures!
Im a big superman fan....loved it!!!
Very unique attraction. You can spend a day exploring this unique and quaint town. Don't forget to check out the fort on the riverbank!
This is an awesome place to stop and take pics.
A pretty cool, tall statue, and a museum u could go in too.
Plenty of parking makes this attraction easy to access. Plus the museum and gift shops near by are very comprehensive in their collections.
Nice place in the middle of nowheré. Hidden treasure this. It's a pleasant surprise
Metropolis, IL and The Superman Museum was one of the coolest experiences. Had tons of great and one of a kind pieces than span everything Superman. The admission price was fantastic as well as all the vintage and current items for sale in the gift shop. The Superman statue in town square was awesome, as well as the Lois Lane statue at the end of town. And to top it off, a large kryptonite rock as well! The residents and museum employees were friendly and welcoming. Fan of Superman? It's a must see. Everyone should visit once.
Only $5 to walk threw! Awesome day time stop, Adam was super and they have things from all the different people that played the Superman role along with toys and a gift shop. Happy that I decided to make the trip.
There is more to this area than just Superman. Yes you will have the giant metal Superman standing on a giant S (It took me 5 visits to notice this), but you also have a bronze Lois. There are of comic and Superman museums here, a pretty good Superman themed gift and true collectable shop here as well. The town also has some antique shops, restaraunts and a mega nice CASINO. So yes, Metropolis Illinois is a great place to visit. Don't forget all of the great State and National Parks in the area. Herons Pond is the only Bayou in Illinois just a few minutes north... walk the trail and boardwalk through and enjoy the wildlife.
Come on! It's Metropolis! You have to see the Superman statue! 20+ years ago, it was a weird dude about 6' tall with size 20 shoes... Now, it's... well... SUPER!
Fun roadside attraction. Museum and gift shop had some fun memorabilia
Great if you are into superman
Great statue of classic Superman. Not much else around except a little museum.
Great place for shirt stop over for comic bool geeks!
So much fun. Well worth $5
It was and is sooooooo awesome place to visit can't wait till next year June 11 - 14 2020
Cool! I don't know this was a real thing until I stopped for gas. And then it became a must see.
Live music in the street with a car show the day we came through... Awesome small town Americana vibe!
Really cool statue!! A fun place to stop and visit. We took a fun family picture here.
Go visit it.. Museum free. Time spent free. Had some fun.. 30-45 of good memories. Well worth the stop !
Really fun place to take your kids.
Pretty cool place used to go alot as a child traveling to Tennessee to visit other family
Got there at 330 in the morning but it was really cool!
My family and I absolutely loved the experience! As a super hero fanatic, It is neat to visit a town revolves around Superman. After all, the town's name is Metropolis! There is also a nice shop near the statue that has anything super hero related that caters to both children as well as the collector. Such a great family experience. Highly reccomend!
Super cool store, very friendly employees, great for a quick novelty shopping spree. Something for everyone! DC Collectors will absolutely LOVE it here! ❤
The statue is great, but the town is a little sad. :( Went to the little shop too. It has a lot of great stuff, a bit pricey but good.
Every time I travel East I stop in Metropolis for a photo of Superman with my dog. It's a good place to spend a few hours in a cool small town. The people are very nice also. Been stopping here for 35 years on trips! On this trip, it was the first visit for my dog, Boo.
Statues were nice Very disappointed with Superman Museum & Gift Store. What museum??? There were some concrete statues, a few wood cutouts of the characters where you could put your head on their body, an old phone booth, a car that was suppose to be the one used in a movie. Gift Store??? ... TWENTY DOLLARS for a 0 month onesie with the Superman emblem on it. --- WAY OVER PRICED! Won't return.
Cool place to visit with several interesting shops to browse.
Went there during a 2002 Superman Celebration and had a great time. I'm no comic book geek, but being around people dressed up as superheroes, was pretty cool. Had the pleasure to meet Noel Neill who played Lois Lane, Adam West, went to dinner auction with them and won some nice things which we had autographed. Really nice people, awesome museum. A great experience. Something to check out, but you gotta go with the flow and it'll be a great memory for you.
My dad would stop here when I was a kid. Over 40 years ago so I dont remember what it was like, but I enjoyed it when we stopped there with our kids
Because we got to take tons of pictures and go to gift shops it is a beautiful place !
Fun place to swing by if you're passing through. Must see for Superman lovers.
Neat little tourist attraction. Quaint main street with shops and a large Superman statue in front of the town square. Great photo opportunity. Interesting little museum and Superman memorabilia.
We have been coming here for 19 years for Superman Celebration and always have a great time; listening to the guest, playing Superman Jeopardy, and viewing all the great costumed revelers dress as their favorite Superhero. The museum's are …
Up, up and away! Great to spend some time with the Man of Steel :-)
Only 5 stars if you like unique road trip stops.
Fun little diversion on a road trip.
Great place to stop with the family and stretch your legs on a road trip.
It's a good idea to have been able to make it to the meeting and I will be able to do anything for the kids and the other one is in the house and I will not be able to do anything else with him and anyone else who might want to check with.
Been here many times & it's a great navalty for a historical movie location
Super cool spot, always raising my eyebrows
They have this⬇ and the museum that is $5 for adults and a certain age of kids are free with paid adult admission. There was a bench blocking the age of children free! EVERYTHING S U P E R M A N!!! That's why it's awesome and because of " Truth, Justice - The American Way "
It's a great likeness of the comic book Superman. Believe it or not I played the part of Superman for the festival in June for 5 years. It was a hoot.
I love him, he is so strong.
Definitely worth a moment to stop in and see!
Basic tourist attraction. Great set up for pics and selfies with Superman.
We stop as often as time allows. First time touring the museum. Worth the $5 .
Excellent pit stop on our road trip.
I'm an avid Superman fan! Anyone would thoroughly enjoy This though!
It has been a long time but from what I can remember the place was so unique. From being a huge Justice league cartoon and Superman 2 fan this was an incredible experience. Oh yeah it has casinos on boats that remain docked
This place was very interesting real nostalgic
This place was awesome kids really liked it
I took pictures for someone else. People were lined up to take pictures.
This was our 3rd time stopping by this little town. We were driving from NC to NE and this is a nice break. In all the times we've stopped we have never found a restaurant there. They seem to be all on the outside of down town. That's the only negative thing I have to say.
It was alot of fun for my youngest and it was like walking through a timeline toy shop
You HAVE TO Visit Metropolis! Great photo ops! Smash a Penny Souvenir gets something for each visitor...
Coolest thing ever!
Very cool family friendly place. Love all of the little shops! Kind of expensive but that's what you get with a small town tourist attraction I highly recommend you bring your children to this amazing site! For added safety the police station is just across the street so no worries on that front!
Was a really cool little stop on our road trip.a few minutes of the highway, cool little spot to walk around and take pictures with the family to stretch our legs. Liked like a fun little town. Clean.
It was fun to see the statue & take some pictures! We stopped across the street as well at the shop but didn't go through the museum. The shop had tons of Superman & other superhero memorabilia (It seemed a little overpriced, but to be expected at a touristy spot like that!)
The word in town is that the statue is actually bulletproof. The original statue of the 'Man of Steel' was only 6 or 7 feet tall and teenagers would take shots at it to see if Superman was actually bulletproof...he wasn't. So, the town commissioned for one that was. For the full story, head over to the Riverview Mansion B&B.
So cute. Big big statue. Lots of cutouts toy can take your pics with. Fun stop just a few minutes off interstate highway
Enjoyed it more than I expected. Didn't realize that there was more than the statute and museum of Supermsn.
Fun little stop on our way through. Not very far off the interstate and a nice little town to take a stretch from driving.
Who knew the town would turn out like that and celebrate Superman with us?! It was kind of adorable and a little sad due to the low amount of people there.
What a random find in Metropolis. Always stop here and is nearby other free attractions in the area. There are other Superman themed areas as well. Statue is roughly 15 feet tall and allows for others to pose with the statue nearby.
Nice photo opportunity and is designed to easily take a picture and not have people in the background. Plenty of parking around and lots of little shops nearby.
It was a fun quick side stop. Museum was closed and most businesses but we got there at sundown on a Sunday. Our fault. Kids enjoyed it.
Very disappointed. Nothing but a large statue and junk store.
My family and I attended the Superman Festival today, and we enjoyed it very much. There lots of interesting vendors to see, lots of variety of food trucks, and lots of people in costume. We will definitely be going back next year!
Iconic statue. It is breathtaking. I went last year around my Birthday and they had a superman celebration. It was the beat birthday in my life. Marvel sucks. DC is awesome
I love over the top America and finding random fun things that make a town. Metropolis was before Superman but when Marvel made it official that Superman (in the comics) lived in Metropolis (comic version) Metropolis (real) made him theirs!
Semi truck drivers be aware, it will be difficult to get a parking spot during the week due to the courthouse being open. The weekend hours would be the better time to find an easy open spot. It was an interesting experience. The store has more than the Superman character on display. It has some novelties which would make some creative gifts. The store is small but it does have a museum in the back for the low price a $5.00 a person.
Liked it a lot. Perhaps they could put some of the money they make during the annual superhero festival back into the gift shop and downtown area. All and all pretty neat
Great place not really a giant statue but its pretty neat!
Dang straight. Where else are you going to see something like this.
An Awesome Place
Ok if you like Superman.
The statue was so fun and amazing! My husband love the museum. The store was super dusty. Lighting inside was bad no way to get a stroller in it. Lots of fun old toys collectables. They need a side walk sale clear out so inventory and restructure the lay out for handicapped people. But it was super fun!
Interesting place to visit while in Southern Illinois. Coffee shop down the street has some good Java.
Would give more stars but it was 3 to 5 miles off the interstate on a slow road. Not the quick stop I thought it was going to be. Still kids liked it.
What a blast! Fun, American experience. We lucked up and happen to be passing by on the first day of the Superman Celebration and had a good time seeing everyone enjoying the idea of Superman
Super cool. They also have a bronze life size statue of the original Lois Lane, Noel Neil, the first lady of metropolis,IL. The official home town of superman
Such a cool thing for a city to have. My family loved it
Very neat tourist trap. If you pass by and have 20 minutes to spare it's worth it. Everyone in superman Square was friendly and polite.
Loved stopping here great town fun shopping. Watch buying sodas from the Outdoor Superman vending machine my soda was 3/4 empty.
Just an interesting place to spend a leisurely day.
My daughter is a fan. We love going and taking pics. We were hoping to get pics of the arm band I memory of Stan Lee but it had already been removed....
I am big Superman fan.
Go to the superman festivals every year. Big fans. This placw had everything superman.
Always a great place to spend some time and look at the attractions. They also have a comic book store next to the statue. I've always had fun here but it's better when you bring your kids. They think it's the best thing in the world.
Absolutely love stopping here! It's a must see if your in the area
The statue is pretty cool, even though I’m not really into comic books. The city would do well though to repaint the street lines to allow more space in the street for safely taking photos.
I've been waiting for years to see this, and I wasn't disappointed.. Very neat little town square..
I remember coming here with my Grandpa Smitty and Mimmiee when I was a little girl and now I'm here with my grandson. What's not to love about Superman?
Fun place to stop on long road trips
Fun little place to stop along the road and snap a pic.
We took the kids and they loved it.
This is totally the coolest thing to see, they even have a museum and gift shop.
Enjoyed the store and the vibe from the town was really cool.
Because, i am faster than a soeeding bullet
Pretty cool superman statue. Neat little gift shop.
Loving going here. My favorite place.
always great to show this off to out-of-towners
I'm still a Marvel comics fan. But well worth the side trip
Well maintained and clean. A fun little stop if you are in the Paducah area.
Cool statue! The kids always enjoy visiting!
Pretty cool statue. Reminds me of when I was a kid when I saw Superman for the first time. Seeing all the old buildings and old phone booth.
Nice to visit while we were in Southern IL! Metropolis is a cool area and very neat! Touristy spot for sure. Lots of people were stopping to get pictures in front or the giant statue! If you are in the area, you should check it out! Cool …
