REVIEWS OF Skydeck Chicago IN Illinois

Great views. Fun elevator ride to the top. They are doing construction, so there is a lot of roundabout walking to get to the attraction. Really fun to step out on the glass and look more than 100 stories directly below.

Fish

Elevator stopped and wouldn't open for a few minutes while it was packed wall to wall with people. Mildly terrifying. The deck itself is pretty nice though.

Lilac M.

beautiful view from 103rd floor. It was amazing experience. The line were kinda long, but they only give us 1 minute to stay in the glass.

Randy Hoyum

OMG. What a view of Chicago and all the area. Midday on a Tuesday, no long lines. Hang on for a 100 floor elevator ride in less than a minute!!!! The que line was full for the glass box experience, but the wait was only 30-40 minutes total. 4 different "boxes" and staff was pretty good about moving people through with 60 seconds a group(90 secs if 4 or more in group) It was a fun experience, for this 1st time visitor to Chicago area.

Komal Kubsad

Amazing views of the city from here. Just be there as early as possible in the morning. It opens at 9 am, and if you can make it at that time it is the best experience. Later you go longer the wait time and longer queues and more exhausting.

Helenore Kelenore

The glass feels real cold and thin. Not plastic like you might think. You get 1 minute per group and then the staff makes you move. I was confused as to why they have this picture of this couple while you're standing in line... The Skydeck is relatively new... So why the heck are these two 80s hooligans on the wall? Look for them for a good laugh!!!

Amanda

Great views of Chicago and the ledge was really fun. Kids liked the elevator ride too.

Samantha McKeown

I hates heights, I went up for my mom and ended up loving it. Being able to see the city at night is amazing. You were able to look out from a normal window but the best part was being able to see the city right below you. Elevator was so fast once you were on you were up to floor 103 in 60 seconds. Highly recommend

Very cool to look down on the amazing city of Chicago in Illinois, United States of America. There is a cool entrance and a long elevator ride to the top. There are interesting facts about the history and height of the Willis Tower. You get a 360 view over the entire city. On a good day, it's amazing to get to look at Chicago from a different perspective. There is a glass floor section that you can stand over and take pictures in. I highly recommend going here if you visit the beautiful city of Chicago. I had a great time here and I highly recommend you to come here. I would visit again if I could, you cannot find anywhere else in the world that will give you this once in a lifetime experience.

David Vassallo

The view is amazing but that is simply thanks to the location that happens to be atop of one of the world's tallest buildings. The experience offered by Skydeck Chicago is very poor at best. Downstairs is a bit of a shambles due to construction work going on but the worst thing about it is the amount of people they will attempt to cram in during busy periods using only two elevators. Expect a 3 hour plus wait on a weekend as they make people stand in an airport style queue. They attempt to sell extortionately priced 'fast passes' (75usd per person) by shouting loudly and unprofessionally at the hoards of people making the place seem like more like a cattle market. Once you finally do get to the security check, you are (rather) forcefully asked to pose for a picture (that could have just been specific to the staff member working the day of our visit). I feel they could provide a much better experience for visitors introducing some sort of slot booking system on busy days to avoid the huge queues. But judging by the high numbers of positive reviews people must be happy to wait. Call me impatient but in my opinion the view isn't worth the wait, there are other options for Chicago which I would recommend trying unless you really feel strongly about Willis Tower. If you do, go at 9am on a weekday morning like we did on our second attempt and you will only wait around an hour.

Tylar Brooks

The view was spectacular. I could see everything and was just in awe. The entire trip took 3 hours from start to finish. While look wait times are expected it was not pleasant to wait for so long in a very crowed area with no air. It became very hot and uncomfortable in line. Perhaps small fans could be placed around to help keep people cool.

Ivonne M

Such a great experience, it was a lot of fun to see how high above you were and see right below you. We only have a limited of time to take pictures so that's not fun but I understand since there are only 2 and so many people are doing it. It's a great thing to do for a tourist and for someone who is not afraid of heights!

Mai Te

Spectacular view of the whole city. They only allow you stay on the deck a very few time. It was worthy the cue, though.

Loulou's Picture

Great experience. The waiting time is very high. You'll spend more time waiting than being on the skydeck

The Informative Droid

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. This is one of those few places where you can go 103 stories above the ground. the view from above is absolutely stunning. You can get a 360-degree view of the entire city and even some of the outskirts. And best of all, there is a glass box that suspends from the tower into the middle of nowhere. You can stand on the glass box appreciating mankind's ability to defy laws of gravitation. There are many mementos you can grab from the skydeck, which unfortunately, are very expensive, or rather overpriced. Tickets for adults cost $25 (13 and above). Kids of ages between 3 to 11 have tickets worth $17. Younger people are free. Please visit the Willis Tower at least once, because this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You will remember this trip forever till your last breath.

Sarthak Banga

Amazing! Jump over this place to get some awesome views. Memorable first visit on my birthday. What else you need? Grab on your tickets now!

Oleg Somov

This is an incredible building. Impressive design and idea. Very entertaining attraction with unbelievable experience. Must see for tourists. Also, the staff is very polite and friendly!

Darius Lahoutifard

Once in a lifetime experience. View above the clouds. Scary skydeck but worth the experience. Got many exceptional pics. 4 US states visible from there. Must see place.

Karl Bentjen

Really awesome! Don't pass on the skydeck overhang nonsense... It's totally worth the wait in line! Do it!

Miss Miko

Its $25 admission. Great view of the city. You only get 90 seconds on the actual skydeck for pictures. Its worth it if you want to check it off your list of things to do.

Essence Smith

In my opinion this was a complete waste of time and money. I am perfectly fine with the $25 cost. However, I think the quality of customer service and the experience could be enhanced. We went to visit the sky deck around 7:30 and entering the staff was lovely. Once we got to the top and closer to the observation deck it was a complete 180. After waiting in line I experienced the worker arguing with a lady over a picture. He could have simply taken the photo but instead he rather waste time arguing. When it was our turn they were rushing and asked us to share the deck with other parties because they were closing. It was very uncomfortable because the other guest we were supposed to be sharing with didn’t get the memo and was in the way. The worker kept telling us to come on but wouldn’t talk to the other group. Finally they moved over but time was already winding down, and with our party of 3 you only get 60 seconds. We asked the worker to take our photo for us and he had an attitude. The pics came out terrible and we were pushed along. The site was absolutely beautiful but I just don’t think it’s worth the experience. I was visiting Chicago for the weekend and this is always on the tourist to do list. Don’t waste your time.

Matt Zealand

Had an opportunity to visit here at night. It was a wonderful experience, it wasn't very busy which made it even better. You can stand on a glass floor and see all the way down to the street if you aren't to nervous of heights.

Tom Backes

Great views over Chicago, perfect to take some nice pictures of the skyline from above. But 25$ for non-fast-lane ticket is definitely overpriced. The queues for the glass floor were super long so I didn’t even bother to try it out. The gift shop is average and also quite expensive.

Thomas Moore

It was a spectacular view of the Skyline and the surrounding area. It was cool to be able to see 4 different states Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin from the same place 103 floors high in the sky.

Vivek Mangipudi

It's a nice place. Nothing magical. But can check off of your bucket list.

Zaid Jumaily

Very nice experience. Must see if you're visiting Chicago. Very busy and you might need to wait for 60 minutes to get to the observation deck. They have fast line but you have to pay $75 versus $25 for the regular one.

Nate Ulsh

Really cool opportunity at 103 floors up to see the city. There are windows on all sides of the building to glance at the 4 angles of the city. Just be careful if afraid of heights as the glass floor is pretty wickedly cool!

Owais Ahmed

Amazing view from the top. Just crazy tall structure. You have got to go here when in Chicago.

David Kenny

Great views and worth the admission price. Avoid peak times. Cues can be very long. Cost - standard ticket 25 fast pass 75 Time required - 45 mins to 1 hour if not busy

Barb

Beautiful views but not worth the price. Long waits throughout to get to the 103st floor to find a longer wait for the glassed in boxes that overhang the building. Do not reccomend.

carlos moreno

The vies is amazing, but there is almost no fresh air. Enormous lines. Restrooms to far away from the end of the lone. Not going there again

Douglas Baldwin

Great views. Fun elevator ride to the top. They are doing construction, so there is a lot of roundabout walking to get to the attraction. Really fun to step out on the glass and look more than 100 stories directly below.

Jackie and G

This was a great experience to see all of Chicago and other neighboring states! They said it was a 45 minute wait but it went very quickly. They had good organization and kept the line moving. We were able to take plenty of photos in the 60 seconds. It was also cool to see how tall this building was as you rode up the elevator. It’s a great change to take some funny pictures with all of Chicago below!

Sascha Horstmann

Extraordinary views over the city, during the week it is less crowded than on weekends so no fast pass needed there

Alan Peters

Best views even on a misty day. We pre booked a date b4 arrival. In hindsight we should had went along on a clear day. Or check the forecast then prebook the night b4. Standing out looking down though glass. It's an experience. Worth the entrance fee? If it busy you could have an hour queue. Then only 30 seconds on glass. We had a cloudy misty day so where able to have about 4 times on glass. Only 4 minutes queues.

Suman Adarsh

A wonderful experience indeed. It is a delightful treat to view the Chicago skyline from above them. The process of reaching the sky deck is quick and smooth and ample time is provided to take pictures. A must see place for people not afraid of heights.

Erin

This experience was amazing and so worth it! I read previous reviews about the wait times and decided to be there when they first opened. Best idea ever! The wait time to ride up the elevator or for The Ledge weren't long at all. We purchased our tickets online prior to coming, so we went right up. It was super hot up there since it was sunny out and a hot day.

My Nguyen-Soy

This was my second time visiting the Skydeck with my family. I went on a Friday morning in June. Arrived at about 11. Bought my general admission ticket ahead of time so I didn’t have to wait in line. We were told one hour wait to get to Skydeck. It took us about 30-40 min to get to the top level where the ledge was, but there was about a 30 min wait to get to the ledge while on the top floor. They were also selling ticket upgrades (Fast Pass) to skip the line on the top floor for additional $30. We opted not to purchase these and just wait it out. Because it was so busy, you only have 60 seconds on the ledge for photos for parties of 4 or less, and 90 seconds for parties of more than 4. The time goes by so fast that you don’t even get to soak in the scenery and the view from the ledge. Very rushed. Not worth what we paid in my opinion. This is in contrast to the first time I went 3 years ago in the middle of January. A lot less crowded and we were able to take our time on the ledge without being timed. We got to truly immerse ourself in the experience of being 103 floors up high that time. 5 stars the first time, 2 stars this time for the cost, wait, and rushing. Overall 3 stars.

SPZ Aruba

The view is unbeatable. Phenominal view. The line is unbearable and when you get to the Skydeck you feel rushed from the crush of the people. Go super early or late. At night it is gorgeous and when clouds are rolling in it's gorgeous. The only way the crush of people would get better is if they built another Skydeck below the existing level. But I don't see that happening.

David Hirtle

The staff kept people moving. Was impressed with how quickly the lines moved. Beautiful views. They charge a lot for the pictures they take of you. I recommend they also email the pictures to you for that price incase something happens to the pictures they took of you

Amit Batra

Must visit if you'd like to see this gorgeous city from above. Awesome photo ops, make sure to carry a polarizer filter. Majestic views of the city.

Carlos Cordido

Lots of tourists on weekends. You get about a minute to take pictures on the Ledge's glass boxes after lining up. If you want to, you can go in line again to take more pictures on the Ledge's glass boxes. Staff is ok. Views are amazing. Went on a sunny day, then on a clear night with CityPass.

Supermom pooja

If you have lots of time then visit this place.it took 4 hours standing in line with kids its not worth. But grow ups can go and enjoy the view it is really good. Hardly 2 min they will give you to stand on glass box take pics. That is it.

Bec Jane

Fabulous views! Wish the windows were cleaner or there was an outside area (like the Empire State Bldg) for clearer photos. Lines weren't bad at all.

Abhishek Ranjan

An excellent view of Chicago from the top. The best time to visit is right at sunset. The view is mesmerizing. You can get a better price through multiple third party vendors rather than at the counter.

John Shirts

I've been to the Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. So my expectations were based on those experiences: smooth operation, satisfying experience. But it was not so here. I listened in complete disbelief as workers barked to expect it to take 3 HOURS. We had even purchased our tickets ahead of time online. Every step of the journey was slow from the wait through security to the wait for the return elevator. We were there on a Saturday in October--not exactly prime time for the windy city. I would only recommend this on a frigid Tuesday in January and only if you have no chance to go anywhere else to see such a view. Or if you have money to burn, do splurge and spend the extra $50 for the fast pass. Otherwise, stay away and enjoy better things in downtown Chicago.

Matt Albrecht

$25 bucks a pop (maybe $20 online through 3rd party vendors), only you can say if it is worth it. The view is impressive, but the wait is too long to go up. They hustle you through the glass ledge (60 seconds for groups of 3 or less) - and there is a 90 minute wait for that too, on top of the 1-2 hour wait just to get to the elevator - which they pack. Never short to bend visitors over even MORE, they sell a 'limited number of fast passes' for $75 each (per person) to shorten your wait...which in turn LENGTHENS the wait for everyone else, thereby 'encouraging' more people to buy fast passes! ! Crafty devils! Anything in the name of a buck!! And parking across the street? FIFTY BUCKS! We found an open lot about 1/2 mile for $10 (after 2pm, weekend). Now the powers that be will say "the Ramos are owned by the city if Chicago - they set the rates". That may or may not be true, but nothing says, "welcome to Chicago!" like 'GRAB THE ANKLES! And take it deep'! You can do better Chicago

Ryan Cooper

See Chicago up close, from above! We got in and through security quickly, and had a fun time looking down over the city. Breathtaking views and fun photo ops. The elevator ride is kinda cool too. That thing really moves!

pratiksha sathe

Mesmerizing place. Wait times can be from 1-2hrs on weekends. Try to reach there 2hrs before sunrise to get amazing twilight pictures. There are 4 cubes for ledge so check which has less wait.

siny Raphel

Must see place in Chicago!!! It’s a mind blowing experience. Standing on glass 1000’s of feet above ground. But waiting time is very high. We went there on July 5th. It was very crowded. It took 3.5 hrs to reach the deck. On the deck each group is allowed 60-90seconds. If you have fast pass you can skip the line but it’s $75 otherwise it’s $25. With kids it will be really tiring . In the beginning fast pass was included in city pass but from this March they stopped it. So you’ll have to pay extra $30 for fast pass if you have city pass . For all other passes it’s $50 extra. You can opt for professional photos. They are expensive but good if you wish to picture your moment on the deck. Full set of pics are $40 but you can select individual pics or soft copy for $30 too.

Alex Gakh

Interesting attraction but too many people, takes too long time to reach the viewing point.

Kenny Dube

It's a Chicago staple for tourists. The line was long and the time to take pictures was short (as expected). If you really want to maximize your picture time, consider getting the fast pass. You get a shorter line and get to go as often as you like.

Carl Street III

Best place to get a view of the skyline of Chicago. I honestly love going at night. Seeing so far that the lights start to flicker. Wouldnt suggest to additional hour to get 45 sec of the glass deck. Just my opinion. It is also currently under construction and it may be a little hard to get in.

Sri surya shankar Neerukonda

Awesome place and a fantastic top view of the city from the top of this Willis Tower at a staggering height of 1450 feet. If you are acrophobic you guys must try this place. Because I am very scared to land my feet on the glass but once I landed I am comfortable and enjoyed the awesome view from the top. People will go crazy here posing for weird photos and with wild

Niesa Lenox

Awe-inspiring and definitely worth the price. A must visit spot for anyone visiting Chicago and a great opportunity to take pictures of the city. It’s also fun to send pictures to your friends who are afraid of heights to mess with them

Jessika Pazol

The view was stunning!... but the waiting time in the line... ☹️ ridiculously long. There were 5 lines to make: 1. the lobby line, 2. the security check-up line, 3. the general admission buying tickets line, 4. the elevator line, 5. and once up, the skydeck line. All these lines summed up today more than 3.5 hrs which was a pitty because I only had 1 day to see Chicago and because of these a considerable portion of my time was spent doing the Willis Tower line.

Nisha Boo

What a great experience! For a person who is afraid of heights I sure did enjoy my time here on the 103rd floor. I would definitely recommend visiting the Sky Deck when visiting Chicago. Beautiful views. My advice, the best time to go is during a weekday in the afternoon where there is a lesser crowd.

Elena Zimareva

Great views!!! Totally worth the money. The wait was pretty long on Sunday around 5 PM. Waited for around 40 minutes to get in and plus 40 minutes to get to the glass floor.

cody ossmann

The best view in Chicago. You can see 4 states from the deck. Really breathtaking.

Chris

The views from the Skydeck are spectacular. We went on a cloudy, foggy day, so there were some sites, such as Wrigley, that just weren't discernible. The glass balconies are very controlled by the staff; tourist groups are granted approximately 60-90 seconds for their own pictures after the staff takes a picture of the group. I would recommend visiting on a pretty day. Military members are free with ID!

Matt Albrecht

Sandra Gutiérrez R.

Don’t waste your money !! It doesn’t matter that you buy tickets online you still have to wait 1.5 hrs to get up and another hour to get to the ledge. No staff during the line to assist. This is a waste of money and time, not worth it. John Hancock is better !

Robert Wallace

Not the cheapest with a family but seemed worth it. You are timed in the clear cubes but otherwise can stay as long as you'd like. No pressure to leave. We got there at opening and there was no wait. Go early! There is a gift shop both at top and bottom.

Hannah Soltys

Had a positive experience here, but we made sure to arrive early in the day to avoid most of the long lines. As someone from the Chicago area, I actually expected longer waits and more standing around than there was so I was happy with my experience. I could see how if it was crowded that the place wouldn't be as enjoyable. Also, i was pleasantly surprised by the short elevator ride. They do jam you in there with as many people as possible, so I wouldn't recommend this experience to anyone who is claustrophobic. The fast pass is also probably worth the extra money here if you don't like lines or unwilling to arrive early.

Derek Dukey

A must see attraction in Chicago. Where else can you step 5 feet away from the building in a totally glass enclosure, 103 floors above the streets? I went on an overcast day and many people were saying they were disappointed because you couldn't see the city below, but it was a remarkable contrast of getting into an elevator on the rainy Chicago streets and when you get out it looks like the description of heaven. Pure white clouds as far as you can see in every direction, and bright, shining sun! I think it should be seen in all of the available weather that Chicago has to offer (which is varied and often). They let you take your own photos for a few minutes, and some of the attendants are more strict than others. There's a small gift shop up top, but the views are the real memories.

Yumna Rizvi

The experience was good and the view was beutiful but they only gave 90 sec for the group of 9 people! How could 6 people can enjoy the view and take pictures in just 90 seconds?

Trevor Sones

From the windows and the sky deck itself, it’s a great view depending on the day you go. If it’s cloudy out you’re obviously not going to see much, but if it’s clear out then you should expect to wait a while since there are going to be a lot of people especially on the weekends. But in my opinion the wait was worth it, you get to see a view unlike any other in the city. (:

Beulah Lane

Such a cool attraction. You get exactly 30 seconds or maybe 45 to enjoy the view that your paid for. That was a bit off but I get it. The line would never move. The ride up (and down) the elevator was filled with popping ears! It's slightly confusing on where to go once you get to the 103rd floor. You are just required to wrap around the floor to enter the line. We bought a city pass so we got a type of "fast pass" which was amazing!!! Our window guide took at least 20 pics with our phone for us. He was courteous and pleasant. The view is so awesome. We would def do this attraction again.

Zaara Khan

This place is amazing.. To be on top of the world and see it from there.. One must go there atleast once ..

Slay G

AMAZING!!! Definitely a MUST DO in your lifetime if you in Chicago. Can be somewhat pricey but without a doubt worth it. Breath taking views!! Lifetime memories. Be prepared for a wait time tho. Me n my son checked in at 1:30pm and left at 6pm.

Christopher Stephens

I wish I could say this place was work the visit but sadly I cannot. Maybe this place was better in it's heyday when it still belonged to Sears. Now it's only a tourist trap that's been on getting as much money as it can. The ledges are the main draw and the wait time to spend either 60 or 90 seconds is not worth it. I visited the Seoul Tower this past summer and it was great. It was planned to have tourists so they made a large section a glass floor so there would not be a line to wait. Also, they didn't charge you more to be moved to the front of the line where the wait time would be only ten minutes versus the hour to hour and a half. Also to have the convenience of waiting less time, it will cost am additional 30 dollars. Lastly, the elevators need to be upgraded. Throughout the trip to the top and return, it felt not too safe. And there's no one from the staff on the ride with you to can you of your feel anxious. This is just another developer/owner milking an asset without investing in it. I did it so I can check that box but I won't return and I cannot recommend. Give this one a pass on your trip to Chicago.

Anne F.

View was great but the timekeepers were really rude . They pack as many people in one ledge ( even if you're a group of four they squeeze more people in there with you ) and then the timekeeper tells us " you're ruining other people's pictures " . There's simply not enough room . If you don't want people getting into others pictures , don't pack six people in a space that's meant for four. $23 for a long wait only to get hustled around when you get there and have the staff make you feel like a waste of their time . Not worth it .

Jesus Lazo

My first time ever inside a skyscraper and it's also the second tallest skyscraper worldwide. It was an amazing experience. I really loved being able to know it

Nelly Sophia Orozco

Surreal! If you go to Chicago, definitely come! You get to see the entire city and pictures from there are amazing. It is just breathtaking the whole view and architecture of the city.

London Hampshire

Lesson learned, don't go by yourself. You will receive a different experience than everyone else. Employees opted to not take the professional photos like big ('big' meaning 2 or more...) groups received, and I got to share my photo opportunities with complete strangers. Wouldn't be annoyed if this happened to other people as well, but I was treated as 'lesser than' because I choose to have adventures by myself.

Alesia Selezneva

Nice views but so dirty windows! A clear sunny day through those windows looked like a nasty rainy evening. The glass balconies are cool, the best time to take pictures are morning and night because they are located on the west side of the building and after 3-4p.m. the sun makes it hard to enjoy the views. Also they offer a $30 picture of you standing on the balcony which is crazy. (For each of 4 balconies!!) So bring a really long selfie stick and place your camera near their camera to make your own free amazing shots.

Eliot Ward

Wow, I didn’t know that this place could get so crowded. We went later in the evening on a weekday and I was glad we did. It looks like the lines and wait can and do get really long during peak hours and weekends. Lots of history. Gift shop only so so, but the building and the history is spectacular.

Ryan Cooper

See Chicago up close, from above! We got in and through security quickly, and had a fun time looking down over the city. Breathtaking views and fun photo ops. The elevator ride is kinda cool too. That thing really moves!

BG HOLDINGS

Cool and awesome view of the city. Very worth it for the admission fee. However, get there early or you will have to wait around 60-75 minutes to get up the elevator. Once up there, you need to get in skybox... But warning you don't look down. The first look down is the scariest.

Nafis Khan Chowdhury

Very nice place to hang around with your friends and family. Almost 1353 feet tall building. You can see the scenic view of entire Chicago. Also part of Michigan and Indiana state. The extra 4 feet long glass edge part will add the most adventurous experience in your life. Love this place.

Mylene López

What a View! It's beautiful. You should try it at least once. You can take as many pictures as you want. Once on the deck depending on your party is the time allow for you to stand there and take your pictures. They will also have a team member taking a picture of you - a really nice one- that pic will be available for sale. 1 pic is $30 or a whole package for $40. The admission tickets are $25 but you may find them cheaper if you buy online.

Angie McCoy

My husband and I were on a weekend getaway from Texas. This past weekend it was so overcast and rained the entire trip. This was my first trip to Chicago, and I was eager to see all I could in the three days we were there. We had tickets for the Skydeck and held out until the last day due to the weather. Upon arrival, there was no line at all...nice. The employees were quick to let us know there was 0 visibility. We were bummed, but it was our last day and we had tickets. I'm so thankful we went when we did because winding through the building on a nice clear day, that line would have been insane. When we got up to the sky deck, It was super hot like there was no air flow at all up there. We were literally in the clouds, it was so cool. I could see some of the city as the clouds parted for a few seconds at a time. The clear ledges you could step out on were free game, so we took advantage and did take plenty of pics. Most of the pics we took have clouds, but I was able to look directly down and see vehicles on the ground. One day, we will go again and hopefully enjoy a clear view of the city from that high up!

ABIN JOSEPH

The one experience you cant forget in the Chicago Downtown. If the clouds are clear you can see the neighboring 4 states and the beautiful lake for which the ends are the sky. You need or prepare as there now long waiting ques to enter the Sky deck. Reaching the top you can go to the mirror end to take pictures. Ques are the most difficult part to overcome.

Fernando Gandini

Lines and more lines and no air conditioning! The view is awesome but it's definitely not a program if you are with small kids or old parents!

Pympjuice ChIraq

The Skydeck view of course was amazing. The lines were very long I imagine because it was a Friday the day before the air show but it took about 30 minutes to get to the Skydeck. Once we got up there to wait staff was not very friendly at all but that wasn't what I was there for. I guess they figure everybody supposed to know all the rules and what we're supposed to do to get our pictures but of course I did not but the overall experience was amazing.

Samuel Waggoner

It’s a long, long, long wait before you can step on the deck, which are so few in numbers. Always carry a stroller for the kids. Don’t come if you cannot stand for an hour at least , or pay extra to skip the line. The views are great, and so is the wait. 103 stories high view all around the city. Sky deck you stand on plexiglass and look down. They take your picture then you have 90 seconds to take pictures. Great on a clear day. Week days are much better. Go early lines get long.

Muhammad Sajjad

Amazing view of the city from here . More higher than Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower 1300 feet approx . N experiences To stand just on glass at this height and if u get enough time to feel it really life time experience(little scary as well ) . But every one should try to see once . Highly recommended.

Debra Wiedemann

If you go, you must do both a day and a night in the BOX! The view looks so different depending on if you are in the sunlight or moonlight! At first I was terrified!!! But the 2nd time up, not so bad!

Vishwa Sai Haneesha

The five stars for its breathtaking view of skies of Chicago. This has been a tallest building in the world for a while. The gift store has all the cool stuff to stock as your memories. I should be honest in saying that if you don’t have a priority pass then get ready wait in line at least for 2 hours on any day and anytime. In the rush hours you could imagine how much longer it would take. Must visit place in Chicago!

Keith Campbell

Of course on a Sunday we knew it would be busy, but it's an incredibly long line. The adrenaline once you get to the top is worth it though. You get 30 seconds if you wait in the separate skydeck line once you get to the top. So worth the extra wait !!

Helen Wells

This was so amazing it was 1,353 feet in the air overlooking the city of Chicago,IL.Enjoyed the views of the city hadn't been in Chicago,IL for over 30yrs. Was great!!! Everyone should visit this Skydeck

Kat

Nice place to go once in a lifetime. Went around 9pm. The wait to get onto the deck was long and was only limited to about 1 minute per person. Difficult to only spend one minute on the deck when you want to work up the courage to walk onto the glass and admire the city. It is fairly expensive and you don't get much for what you pay for. The view itself is beautiful and you can spend as much time looking out the windows.

Zeliha

Worth the visit. At 103 floors the Skydeck Chicago offers incredible views of the city and the lake. The elevator is super fast. You can spend time as much as you want. Great place to visit and creat memories... :)

Irandira Gonzalez

If you’re in Chicago you have to get a picture in the skydeck. I recommend you download Boomerang and get a fun jumping picture. Also practice your poses before you go there. Because you will only have about 30 seconds to get your picture. Also military can get in for free

Twinkle Mehra

Don't think twice just visit. It's a great experience on the 103rd floor. BEST VIEW of Chicago. The only thing is u get 1.5 minute to click your picture that too we were 4.

Bryon Winger

Don't bother if it's busy unless you consider standing in lines for literal hours a great experience. The actual box part is 60-90 seconds. Just doesn't seem like a 'must do' .

Claudia Compostella

Panoramic terrace with a magnificent view of the city, located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower (Sears Tower), too bad that there was a queue and you could not stand for more than a few minutes on the projecting balconies. We unfortunately found a cloudy day, but still worth a visit.

Lieutenant nico NPD

I would have liked to spend more time in the box and would have been better if box wasn't so scratched up. But overall fun great views.

Santiago Tha Wayne Carter 6

It's a great experience, but its pricey and it does have a VERY long wait. But it is manageable and the memories are worth it.

Ed Hutter

Great views of the city and lake! And those little glass boxes overhanging the city street are surprisingly exciting! It is a thrill to stand on that glass so high up!

Doug Clark

Spectacular views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. Long lineups for the elevator up and for the "Ledge". Visitors were not processed efficiently through the Ledge lines.

Pamela Schwalbach

Well organized, helpful staff, plenty of views of the city even if you didnt want to step out on the ledge.

Johanna Lainez

Amazing views!!!. Waited for an hour in line to do the ledge view/pictures. There is a $30 fast pass option but we preferred to wait. Then a line to get off the elevator. Totally worth it!

Scott Cox

Great views of the city, but be aware for long wait lines and high prices. Skydeck is located on the lower lobby two floors down. We went through security before buying the tickets for $25 each. They say the wait is between 45-60 minutes before getting on the elevator, but we only had about a 5 minute wait because it was a Sunday night. There was another 45 minute wait for the Skydeck Ledge, but we waited about 20 minutes and only had 60 seconds on the ledge. Fun to check out, but the entire experience could be better. 103rd floor reminded me of security at an airport. Nevertheless, fun to see the view

Kimberly Sandbulte

I was scared to step out into the glass box! It was definitely a cool experience! Not sure it was worth the $25 and more than an hour wait. The staff did warn us it would be 2 hours. We went at dusk, which was a beautiful time to be there.

Jennifer V

Very long lines! First line is for security. Second line is to buy tickets (I recommend buying online and skipping this line). Another line to get on the elevator. While waiting in this line there was no AC and it was super hot. Nowhere to sit either. Then, once up in the Skydeck, there was another hour long line to get on the glass ledges. We were so tired from waiting in lines that we decided to skip the glass ledge. We went on a Saturday at 4 pm.

Shivangi Arora

So amazing!!! The views are breathtaking and totally worth the cost and wait time. They usually give around 30s to enjoy the view / click pictures. They are generous enough to click some for you. If you wish to click few more pictures you need to re-enter the queue. We went there after rains and the view was totally clear. Also the waiting line was not that long which allowed us to enter multiple times in the queue without much hassle. Since it was evening we could get both kind of shots - daylight and citylights. You can also check the souvenir store having some really cool stuff!

Dondré S

The sky deck was a really cool tourist attraction. Being from south Carolina and living now in Washington DC I don't get to see very many tall buildings. Being up that high in the clouds was just amazing. A view of the city. Not being able to see the ground at certain times, looking down only seeing clouds was very cool. It was very organized and didn't take too much time. I went on a weekday so the lines were very short.

Sam gaia

Lines are long even on a Tuesday but the view is amazing and the staff is wonderful! We didn't wait to go in the glass boxes because of the long lines but there's still an amazing view even without the glass bottom balconies. Way worth the trip!

Pao Garacu

It's literally a deck/window, not an elevator or whatsoever and you only have 2min to take a picture. Also, it's $25 per person so it's not bad but it's not that worth it either

Maria Bazan

Skydeck Chicago is amazing!! The views are spectacular!! I will suggest the VIP fast pass, it worth it!! Especially if you go on weekends or holidays the wait can be up to three hours!! my one complaint about the skydeck is that the time that you actually have to be out on the ledge is only 60 seconds so you can feel a bit rushed to take pictures. They do take one official picture but the price of it is $30!! But overall the experience is worth the price

Michael Bertram

The Blue Angels were practicing the day we went. Additionally, they have a military discount. I am retired army and my wife and daughter also have military id's. All of the tickets were reduced by half at least. What a venue. What a day.

Marcus Smoot

Maybe we chose the wrong day...but seriously, 4 hours to get through the line! Not worth the wait. Wait to get on your plane! It’s just as good.

A Desousa

Lots of construction going on at Willis tower. We made it to the entrance to purchase our tickets after going through a security check and a very confusing line up. Once up to the 103rd floor we were able to navigate through the people to get some pretty awesome pictures of Chicago from an amazing vantage point. The skydeck was super! It seemed that the employees were very laid back and on their phones but still managed to time each party for their allotted slots in the glass compartments and take pictures for those who asked. Overall the $50 for the two of us was fine to spend for an experience that we will probably never do again.

Robert Lee

It's wasn't as crowded as we expected. We went in September in the evening and got in to do all that we wanted. The views are definitely worth it! The people there to help take really good pictures for you on your own phone. We got a good value for the skydeck through Chicago's citypass. I highly recommend that if you're touring around.

남태규

Day and night time both are good do visit. 4 sky decks and have around 1 min. Limited time for you. If you want to save the time buying the fast ticket or visit before 8:30 AM

Pati DeCorah

Great view of our city. We decided to take a chance on the view while it rained outside and was foggy. They give you about 30 seconds to 40 to get pictures of your own. They also take your picture with their cameras . Nice idea and fun. Would love to come back when the weather is clearer.

Shanice Edwards

Beautiful scenery from all 4 points of the floor! It’s better to purchase the City Go Pass and get the opportunity to visit this attraction plus 2 more or however many you choose to purchase as a package. I will be back to try out the drinks at the bar that they have tucked in one area if the floor. They have the TILT attraction but I decided against it as being up that high already had me a bit anxious. Overall, it’s worth a visit!

Srinivasan G

Second tallest building with 103 floors in United States. A must watch attraction in Chicago to witness the aerial beauty of the downtown. Enjoyed taking photos from Ledge’s glass box extended out 4.3 feet from the Skydeck. Good amount of information about the building and historical information on high raise building architectures . One the best experience I ever had.

Miguel Balderas

This place has a great view. You can see 3 other states besides Illinois from the top. The place has so much history. It's not the newest/nicest building but it has its charm. The skydeck is pretty cool. I'd recommend to go when there's no vacation. The line can get pretty long.

Katarina Vukasinovic

Amazing vews and not a long line at all. Everything goes pretty fast. Plan to spend about up to an hour here, including the gift shop. While you're there, don't miss visiting the Money museum, which is a walking distance from here. It's free and educational and you won't spend more than 30min here.

kedar gholap

Great attraction. Good all round views. This is one of the 2 famous observations decks in Chicago. The other being 360 Chicago. Both have their charms. The Skydeck has the additional benefit of The Ledge being included in the admission ticket. The Ledge is an all glass balcony that juts out of the Willis Tower. It makes for a great place for selfies and group photos. Visiting the Skydeck after sundown is also a great idea when downtown Chicago is lit up by thousands of lights. The nighttime views are a different experience. Recommended. Worth the visit.

Nerf kid productions Nkd

It was a long wait, very lively, kind staff,a very surreal experience going 103 stories above the ground and a very fast elevator ride up

osbaldo martin

Great experience, but when you have to be in line for close to 3 hours for just to be able to stand on glass for 90 seconds, but i loved it if you dont mind being in line.

Mike St John

This place was so cool. The views are incredible and the staff is friendly. They have a great gift shop and incredible views from what feels like the top of the world. I highly recommend visiting this attraction. During busy times there can be a bit of a wait, yet there are exhibits on the construction to view while waiting in line.

MOUNTAIN TOP CAPITOL

Not worth the long wait....by the time you get to the top, it’s very small area with not city historical info on the view, and most of the view finders were out of order. There mini shop took up a big chunk of the sky deck.. Not impressed with this attraction sorry.

J R

Amazing views and history boards. The only caveat is you are limited to I think 60 seconds on the glass ledge. Of course they are accommodating the long lines that pay $25 a head to go up to the 103 floor.

Jackson Crawford

I brought my desk lamp up here for meme pictures and nobody gave me a hard time. Thanks for letting me develop yikes lamp in your skydeck

sparramore

If you have the opportunity to see if the Earth is not flat this is one place you could kind of get a feel for the curvature of the Earth... oh yeah and the view is awesome.

Tamia Lemmones

Cool spot as always. Changes from prior year, they have an attendant manning the line to take pictures which ensures no crowding or tourists impeding on your space for 2 minutes.

Jason Pruitt

Well worth your time. Go here. Take pictures. Have fun! You will enjoy the experience. Do your best to go when the sky is clear so you can see far!

Michelle Marshall

We got their as the sun was setting, but just missed the twilight by the time we got up. We had a short wait. The video presentation before the elevator ride up is very well done. It is entertaining and informative for all ages. I was very impressed with it. It was short, fun, and an interesting commentary on how society has changed in corporate America as well as the history of the building. The ride up also has a brief and fun video. The views were fantastic. Even though we missed the sunset, the night time scenery was clear and magical. We went on a Thursday night and the crowds were not bad, but there was still a patient wait to get on one of the sky boxes.

Michica Trillo

Awesome experience! You only get 60 seconds on the ledge and it goes by fast, so take pictures quickly! It's expensive, but they do give complimentary tickets to military!

Alan Haywood

Very cool. Cost was not bad. Even on sunday there was no wait to get up to the top, but a 30 minute wait for the glass floor part. I skipped it. Great views, was fun to check out.

Tyler Do

View is incredible. The line was long so they only gave you 90 seconds to take your pictures. Staff was helpful with taking your pics. The gift section is pricey, you're better off shop at a gift shop downtown.

Wild World

It's really cool and trust me, the glass won't break. If you are 3 people or less I think it's unfortunately 30 or so seconds for pictures while you get 90 seconds if you have a party of 4+. Be ready for a LOT of waiting. I waited probably 1 and a half hours to 2 hours, but definitely worth the wait. Go ahead! It'll be fun having a bird's eye view of the city!

Laura T

Beautiful view!! Definitely worth checking out! the tickets were a little cheaper online. I went in the evening and the line up wasn't to bad so we got to go on it a couple times.

Kimberly-Anne Jaco

Do it!! Do it!! Do it!! Worth the wait, and the time and everything! Such a cool experience. The line goes a lot faster than you think it will. We went around sunset and looking at our pictures, I couldn't have picked a better time. Such a great experience and a great time. We were able to get a ton of pictures and obviously had to stop off in the gift shop. It is an absolute must do

Dale Ku

Great view to the entire Chicago. Tick all the boxes and as good as it can get. The wait it a bit long tho. Prepare around 2 hours for the experience.

989memo

Long lines, and you have only 60 sec to take photos on the edge. I recommend you to go early morning to avoid the lines. It really doesn't worth going there during weekends or afternoons. See the photo below, the long line to the edge.

Bilal Khan

Utterly disappointing! This is rated as one of the best things to do in Chicago, but it is not worth the hype or the cost of admission. After waiting almost 2 hours to get to the top, you are forced into the tiny deck with multiple other guests with no room to take pictures let alone move about There is no indication when your time starts or when it ends and before you know it you are being forced to move along The view on the deck is not the greatest either, you mostly see just the suburbs (not sure why they did not pick one of the other 3 sides) The glass is also very dirty, didn't seem like it was cleaned on a regular basis The worst part is the staff, they are rude and insolent, I realize it's a part time summer gig for most of them but at least they can be respectful or feign a little bit of interest in their work Save your $25 and skip this attraction

Kyle Larkin

A must do in Chicago to experience one of the worlds tallest buildings. I highly recommend arriving around 9:30/10am so you beat the giant lines that form later in the day. Once upstairs, skip straight to the skydeck and experience the rest after. Enjoy!

Megan Herrle

The view was cool but the wait was 2 hours in total. Line after line. And you only get 60 seconds to take all the photos you want.

Vikram Gupta

Best thing to do in Chicago. You can spend time in observatory as you like. No time bar in observatory but in the Glass cube time is limited for one minute only. Management clicked pics with roof mounted camera and the will also help you to click with your phone.

Lauren Knowles

It was pretty cool. There were long lines. If you have any fear of heights don’t go on the sky ledge. I have a very mild fear of heights and I freaked out, couldn’t look down, and crawled off the ledge while looking up. Did have some great photos though. Even if you don’t do the sky ledge, the views are pretty cool.

Tohme Tohme

It is a must go in Chicago. Go up there during sun set it is an amazing view of the city and the lake. I recommend everyone to visit Skydeck in wills tower (sears tower) when visiting Chicago.

Melanie Byer

So amazing!!! The views are breathtaking and totally worth the cost and wait time. Wait time in the queue for Skydeck wasn't bad at all, considering it was prime time Friday afternoon during summer break. I can't wait to come back in the winter!

Joy Taylor

The line goes by pretty fast. It would be nice to get an extra minute though. You should be able to get a minute per person to sit on the ledge. Otherwise, lower the price of the ticket.

Lucas Villalobos Gonzalez

If you are in Chicago Skydeck is a must. The Willis tower is the highest point of the city which allows you to see the entire city of Chicago from up above. The elevator takes 1 min to go all the way up, expect tourists on fridays and weekends. Is very easy to find and the staff is really helpful

Chelsea Rossberg

This was an incredible experience! My first time in Chicago and I am so glad that I was fortunate enough to experience this, with my sister on her birthday weekend, no less! Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Windy City!

Pati DeCorah

Great view of our city. We decided to take a chance on the view while it rained outside and was foggy. They give you about 30 seconds to 40 to get pictures of your own. They also take your picture with their cameras . Nice idea and fun. Would love to come back when the weather is clearer.

Frederic Sender

One of Chicago’s iconic landmarks and architectural marvels. Put this on your top 10 list of things to see while visiting. With 360 views of the Chicagoland area it’s no wonder why so many flock to take selfies. Pro-tip: purchase tickets in advance and catch the sunset and watch the city light up.

Apryl Gavin

This was a scary to do but it was amazing at the same time. You only get sixty to ninety seconds on the glass platform but it's a doable time. Great photo ops on the way up as well. Would do again for sure
