REVIEWS OF Chicago Riverwalk IN Illinois

Rohan Malik

Absolutely awesome walkway. Cool breeze. Serenity. Waterside eateries. River Cruise. Fi e dining cruises. A lovely evening stroll it is. Parked yachts make d view even nicer.

Lisa Zamorski

Beautiful view of the river. Ate at Chicago burger company ...delicious. Lovely fountain towards the end of the walk. Umbrella lined table and chairs. So enjoyable.

Agrita Dubey

I took the boat tour. It's a good one to know about the architect of Chicago and how different era influenced the design.

Mike M

Very nice city walk to view architecture and or stop at a great restaurant

Juan Arroyo

Great to do on a nice day downtown. Plenty of options, clean and well secured.

Justin Wise

This was by far one of our favorite points on the trip to the city! From the stroll along the river, to dining and people watching.. Such a fun experience.

Dennis Blaha

I grew up in Chicago when the river was dirty and unkempt. Now it's beautiful and a lovely place to visit. Good restaurants line the river and the architectural view of the surrounding buildings is amazing.

Ben D

Cool place to walk. Definitely looking for headdowners or expect they will crumple as you walk over them before they finish the text

Robert Butler

This was actually the architectural riverboat tour in downtown Chicago. It's a must do. Saves a lot of foot steps and you get to see so much interesting history of the city and what makes it so unique.

Peter van Beek

Big caveat: I was in Chicago in summer and the weather was amazing. The river walk is sensational - teaming with locals and tourists. There is the right amount of bars, food places and toilets along the way. There was also quite a few temporary public installations that had been set up for people to stop and enjoy life at. A must do for anyone visiting town.

Jonathan Witt

I found the Chicago Riverwalk a beautiful sight. The area was clean with lots to see. There are several boat tours you can take to get a better idea of what to see. There is plenty of stores and restaurants to visit. Eventually it might be as good as San Antonio's Riverwalk.

Loulou's Picture

Chicago riverwalk is great. Is it refreshing because you can walk/run by the river. There are outstanding views over the city, its skyscrapers. At the same time, I felt that I was out of the city because it is way less busy and you can barely hear the sound of the cars.

Mark Mckenna

Visited Chicago back in 2005 in February and wasn't prepared for the cold weather, so obviously I stayed more than I would have liked and wished I had the time to visit the Riverwalk. The City of Chicago is amazing, and the People of Chicago are what make up this City! The scenery on the Riverwalk is spectacular and there were a lot of friendly and helpful people along the way! And it helps when you the most perfect weather! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Beau D'Arcy

Really nice in the summer time. Well worth a walk through. City Winery is my favorite stop along the way. City seems to be expanding every year.

David Mercado

Had a nice walk with my wife. You can see boats passing by and people canoeing. There's also restaurants too.

Lisa Jacob

Overall this is a great way to see the area, the architecture and the ambiance of the river. The walkways can get narrow and on weekends it can get a bit congested but they are also working on improvements to the Riverwalk at this time. My family and I enjoyed walking it though.

Suzanne Meyering

Spacious walkways and places to sit and watch skyline and river traffic. Easy to access from street level at several points. Restaurants along the walk.

Atul Nair

A fantastic stroll through the heart of the loop now replete with different commercial establishments mainly restaurants bars and cafes. the old portion still retains some of the natural features that dominated the original river walk. Hopefully any future extension will incorporate more natural elements to isolate users from the hustle and bustle of the heart of the loop.

Amo Cenare

Chicago Riverwalk is pretty new and opened not long ago. We gave it a try this weekend. We were impressed. Very clean and spacious. Plenty of restaurants along the walk and also places for you to sit and enjoy the views. We will come back again. Highly recommend it!!

Mary Livingston

A magnificently beautiful city! So much to see and enjoy. Lovely landscaping, too.

Donna Tauc

Very pretty to walk along the river, water taxi's and your boats run frequently. Lots of restaurants and places to stop for a beverage along the way. Shopping and Union Station nearby.

Michael Uy

We actually took the boat tour along with walking by the river. Absolutely a must see while in Chicago. So many places to see and do and the buildings are gorgeous and interesting to look at. Will do again!

Cindy Spangler

Great place to hang out and take in all the sites when you're in Chicago. would totally recommend walking around and taking everything you can.

Amanda Broseus

Lots of cool restuarants and fun sights along the river. It's a good place for a morning or evening walk, place to grab a bite to eat, or grab a boat for a ride through the city.

Liza Perry

Everyone needs to do this if the weather permits. Beautiful place. Loved it sooo much!! Great food and drinks all around.

Jason Lohner

Many outdoor, artistic seating options available. A pleasant walk in the city and the area is populated with friendly people.

Josh Fraijo

Absolutely amazing. Got to know some in-depth history of the city and the buildings. The fireworks at the end were great, they lasted about 10 minutes. All in all, would definitely do again and recommend. Did not bring camera unfortunately

MaryAnn Valencia

Great river walk! My only issue is all the steps to get up to street level, still a great experience

Georg Bräunlich

Always worth a visit, but in summer it's cooler. When the trees are green and the bars and shops are open, there's a unique atmosphere down by the river :)

Denise Kyzelis

Nice place to walk by the water...which is surprisingly clean. The bathrooms unfortunately are crowded and smelly. Also, I cannot imagine being here in summer with more crowds....it was pretty busy in fall, and felt too busy to be relaxing.

Ryan Merryman

Beautiful scenery. The water was gorgeous too. Great place for a walk or run too.

Lupita Montoya

My fiance and I really enjoyed our walk. There was live music in one of the bars around. Can't wait to go back to visit again

Mimi Pham

Great place to go for a scenic stroll or have a glass of wine and unwind. There are multiple food venues along the river walk and withing close proximity to the river. You'll be able to see people kayaking down the river. Best time to go is twilight when the sun sets and the night comes to life!

Etta Bourne

Great sundown cruise. Best of both worlds.

Ashwin Dhanasekar

Beautiful riverwalk. Lot of options to sit down, eat, drink, or just hangout. Well maintained. Run and bike friendly as well.

Keahna

I just loved everything about downtown Chicago. My family has lived there for years, but I've never experienced downtown until now. It's just beautiful! Lots of tourists in the summer, but definitely worth hanging out anyway.

Zach Wheat

This is a really great experience. It's nice to find this amount of green space in the heart of the city. There are also a lot of fun bars and restaurants along the River Walk. After sunset the display projected on to the Merchandise Mart is really cool and something you should watch if you're there around that time. And the entire River Walk is dog friendly.

Jhamari Hogan

Chicago is beautiful, especially the tourist spots. I'd recommend to both residents and tourist. Theres plenty to do in this area and plenty to see.

Brian Ridge

I got my steps in for the day. We just kept walking and taking pictures of all the awesome buildings and bridges. This part of the city is awesome.

Quintijo Ellis

Definitely a nice way to walk along the lake. It was a bit crowded when I went but I don't know if that is how crowded it is all the time. Definitely is a great place for friends and dates.

Paul Sober

Great place to let the kids burn off energy running around and exploring near downtown.

RESHMA kAMAL

Beautiful city with one of the best architecture, restaurants, and entertainment. Thank you chicagoans for your hospitality and kindness.

Chris Smith

Beautiful place to go for a walk. Maybe the best part of Chicago.

Bipendra Timilsina

Only one side was good to walk and other need to maintained well.

Deb C

Great walk around the River! Cloudy day = less crowds! Perfect weather . Many places to eat and drink . Get a cruise around the River .

Jack Sweeney

Great adventure through the city nice to get away from the roadway and get closer to the river. Nice places to sit and eat! Multiple places to also dock boat.

Mary Mostachio

Amazing how beautiful it is, especially at night. If you like night life come to downtown Chicago, but don't forget your wallet. You're gonna need it!

elda bime

It is one of the most beautiful views of the river. It has a very beautiful stretch and therefore sees a lot of tourists every hour of the day. The architecture of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen.

MPAM

Excellent place to hang out. Lots of energy in this area. In summer every Wednesday at 9:30 PM and Saturday at 10:30 PM have beautiful fireworks. Restaurants, kayak rentals, restrooms, etc are very good recent additions.

c2sealy

The Riverwalk is the perfect scenic route. Likely not expected to be a short cut, the Riverwalk has a few distractions that each mayor seems to have more of an interest in favoring. The Riverwalk can be more and greater. The work on the south end of the river should make for another interesting addition. Can't wait!

Achille Verheye

Pretty nice in summer, pretty empty (but beautiful) in winter with the river frozen over. Cool vibes, lots of bars popping up, good times.

L Hu

Beautiful. Walking along the Chicago River with quaint restaurants and lush foliage. Romantic and peaceful at the same time!

Francis Brooks

Great picturesque walk along the river. Fantastic views. Good few bars along the side as well

Tim Williams

One of my favorite parts of Chicago! Such a great place to walk, run, sit. The architecture. The views. You should not miss taking a walk along the Riverwalk when you are in town. Absolutely worth it. If you get a chance, be sure to check out Art on theMart. The project art on the side of an enormous building along the walk. The show starts right after sunset every evening. It's spectacular.

Milton Shockley

I had fresh oysters and which were great and the fish is good also. Interesting to watch the bartenders as they prepare drinks. Great location right behind the Wrigley building.

PYRO NATION

Amazing walk.. drinks, food and people interacting was amazing

Mason Seglin

Absolutely love the Chicago Riverwalk. Great place to bring a lunch and hang out on a nice day.

Rebma Dawn

It’s a beautiful place! Found this little beer garden that had some great sandwiches!!

John McGuire

An outstanding example of Chicago utilizing a once defunct river that was an eyesore that is now a architectural tour gem! All the great architects fled to Chicago after the Chicago Fire to rebuild the city. Viewing Chicago from a boat or simply taking a walk along the river is now an amazing experience for anyone who wants to see some of the Worlds premier building's. My suggestion is to experience the " Oddessy " boat tour...absolutely amazing and the service staff, food and cleanliness of the boat make it a great place for a brunch. Definitely check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Holly

The northman has an excellent area that's usually less crowded than other places. Cider is their specialty but they have some great beers too!

Geoff

Really nice walk. You can see Chicago architecture and historic landmarks. There are a number of wheel chair access points too.

Johmartz

One of the nicest riverwalk I've visited. The water is turquoise green and very clean. It is well lit at night and safe.

Tondaleo Allen

The Riverwalk is relaxing, fun and great workout potential. Also, the architecture along the walk is phenomenal.

Deb Gunsch

Did the river tour and then enjoyed so many places along the river afterwards. Lovely area, but I struggle with the wealth of this area Vs what is going on in South Chicago

Nancy Winesburg

Out of this world. So much history in In Chicago. So much to do, so much to see. People are so friendly everyone... whether they live there, visiting, and so much culture

Kris Peterson

We had a great time walking down the Riverwalk toward Navy Pier. The paths are wide, there is good food and drink spots, and it's a great place to people watch. Because it's by the river it can be a little cooler than the city which was a welcome relief during our stay.

Lacy Vardeman

We loved walking downtown! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the area. I was also surprised at the lack of homeless people around. I do not mean to be tacky, but Austin and Denver are downtown areas I will not be returning to due to the sheer number of aggressive homeless people all over, so thank you Chicago for making your downtown area nice for visitors. I think if you are in the area, you must stop and check it all out.

Melissa Blank

Really beautiful riverwalk with lots of dining and diverse crowds. Very fun!

Harrison Martin

Beautiful. Visited mid summer and you could still see the green covered river. With the lights lighting up all around and the river full of excitement this truly was something to be remembered.

Rucha

There's not much to see or do. It's a pleasant walk by the river and a few drink options but not much to eat. It'll nice to have a few more restaurants and shops around.

hania tabassum

Awesome.!!! Loved walking around and taking boat rides inside the city. Very well planned and maintained.

Tiffany L

Haven’t walked the whole thing but it is certainly beautiful where I’ve gone. Restaurants and seating areas are another wonderful addition to the experience.

Bobby Robinson

It is a very nice boating experience cruising through on the Riverwalk in between major builders with the family

Sweet Pea

Peaceful. Accessible to seating, nice grass areas, some food selections, drink selections... good exercise and family friendly. Not to mention being right by the water, with various boat tours, kayaking, private boats, jet skiing and I'm sure much more! Lovely experience

Samuel Waggoner

We were impressed that this riverwalk was so close to the water going by. The path is very well lit and night and feels very safe with lots of foot traffic in the summer. There are also many places to sit along the way, a movie with art/performance art that gets projected on one of the buildings from 9-10p.m., and places to stop along the way if you want food, a drink or ice cream.

K Dodd

Super Cool place to walk along and hear music and have drinks and also have some food if you want. Fun place and lots of people out and about walking. Loved it.

Muhammad Sajjad

In the heart of Chicago beautiful place to walk . Family friendly, nice seating areas, good food available. Live music make atmosphere more lovely. Even night time it’s lit n safe . I consider it’s my favourite thing in Chicago to walk here and feel n enjoy surrounding . Must experience

MYST1C_SUSHAE

It was really nice, and you could see tons of buildings. Oh, and check out the picture I posted of the infinitely tall building. It's an optical illusion.

Miguel Angel

The Riverwalk is a good place to walk around, drink, eat, entertainment and more. There is something to do on each side of the river. I saw runners, joggers among locals and visitors. I like what they have done with the walkway, enjoy the summer nicely. Feel free to kayak, boat ride, rent a boat or relax and have a drink.

Apollonia

The river walk is nice. The river on one side and the nice shops and places to eat and drink on the other. Nice walk on a good day. My issue is that it's not as accessible as I feel it should be. It is a very long walk. There are plenty of places to sit down but not many places to leave. And the only way to get off is to go up. Way up. Like two flights of stairs. I managed but after walking what seemed like a mile to even find the stairs, it was hard. I think it would be a bit much for small children, strollers, wheelchairs, or people with issues walking. Couldn't find an elevator or pathway up that didn't involve stairs. No ramp in sight. Had I known what to expect, I would have choose an alternate route.

edna mode

Amazing variety I've Eatery and adult beverage establishments. Lots of security. Beautiful scenery walking along the river down to the lake. Great option daytime or night

Carolyn Edwards

A lovely walk with some restaurants and exhibits. Expected more, but nice walk before taking architectural boat cruise, which is a must for anyone visiting the city.

Aspen Tng

Great in the summer for a walk. Walks can take as long or as short as you like because you can enter and exit the Riverwalk from various points

John Muller

Enjoy a nice walk or relax by the river. Great place to enjoy the day.

Ricardo De Leon

Wonderful place to take a walk in the evening. Many vendors and restaurants. Definitely one of my favorite spots on Chicago. Whether you're a tourist or a local, it's just a great place to walk. It's amazing how the city has reconstructed and repurposed the Chicago River.

dnshift1

We got a chance to walk the whole way of the Riverwalk. It was a good walk throughout the city and stop by at all the street food stalls along the way. The food trucks are as awesome along the way.

Lili Lara

Loved it. During the day there is so many people walking here, it's a peaceful walk right in downtown Chicago, there's some areas with benches and food/drink stands and restaurants. During the night the view is amazing! Chicago is wonderful!

Dimitris Protsios

I loved it. You can walk there for hours and enjoy the river . There are lots of places to have a coffee, a drink, something to eat. They are upgrading the Riverwalk and it will be even better. A must go if you visit the city. You can find a place to relax or a place to have fun with your friends. Wear your walking shoes and go for it.

Cruz Nestler

Newly finished this year 2019! So clean and a wonderful get away inside the big city!

Sarah Genest

How can you not give this 5 stars? It's perfect! Loved walking this day and evening with my partner.

Lisa F

Beautiful views , interesting people. Even at night we enjoyed our walk.

David Conner

Scenic, great place to cool off a bit. Really enjoyed the boat tours but just being around here before and after was nice.

Amritha Prasad

Beautiful. I enjoyed the walk. In the heart of the city, yet very serene. Highly recommend the architectural boat tour in you are planning to hang out at the river walk.

Robert Oostema

Great any time of the year. We found free parking on Clinton near Fulton...Bonus!

Kylie Yokoyama

One of my favorite things I experienced while in Chicago. Loved the atmosphere, all the patios were dog friendly. Beautiful walk and the different seating areas have been well thought out. Loved all the design elements. Leads you right down to the Navy Pier. A must go and see if you are visiting Chicago!

Steve Damron

Well kept up and very beautiful in the summer time. This is a great walk to see great architecture of the buildings that make up the unique Chicago downtown loop area. Enjoy the wonderful views and you can have a variety of restaurant choices too.

Noemi Lozano

I love the changes that have made and looking forward to going back. Love the steps they added where you can sit read a book or watch the boats pass by and just relax. Nice for a walk around date to.

Mahima Srivastava

Love Chicago Riverwalk. Walked here many times and also did a free walking tour. Gorgeous architecture and buildings all around. Very iconic and excellent history of the river front. If you have time take the architecture boat tour as well. Loved that too.

Joseph Petrovich

Nicest river walk in Chicago which is not to say it rivals San Antonio's but it is nice and clean. Some nice river cruises are offered. And you have some cute bars and restaurants.

Iris Rogers

This Chicago Riverwalk is great!! I walk it as often as possible. They just finished redoing the east side(going towards the lake). It's beautiful and well designed. Plenty of seating available and it's a nice place to go...especially doing the warm months.

Karen Bauer

Chicago's Riverwalk is not to be missed on your next visit to Chicago. Tons of quaint little places to eat, grab a drink or just sit and relax.

G Party

A wonderful addition to the city. Pleasant and relaxing.

Phyllis Patton

One of my favorite places in the city to go. It's calm relaxing beautiful views and now has restaurants throughout the walk. It's becoming more accessible but has more work to do on that front. We had a stroller which made it more difficult than usual to navigate.

Dustin Webster

The Riverwalk is I think a really great example of what a city can do with a space like this. It was pretty cold when I visited, which kept it mostly quiet, but it is still a great place to walk around and sight see. Although I had heard about the architecture here, I didn't really appreciate it until seeing it, and the Riverwalk offers a great vantage point for many of the interesting buildings. I'd very much recommended a stroll through here on a visit to Chicago.

Maureen Rzasa

Talk a walk along the River walk. The architecture is amazing.

Jesse Baird

River 'walk' is what you should expect. Running and biking, while possible, isn't very fun because of how narrow it is and all the turns it makes. It's great that this exists though because it's great to be able to walk along the river away from the busy streets!

Kathy Skerritte

It was a good boat ride. The city views were relaxing and surreal. To tell you the truth I started out not really feeling the city as much as I was told I would. However, getting a history lesson about how Chicago came to be was an eye opener. Admittedly, the tour was a little long and winded (no punt intended).

Vikram Gawade

I really enjoyed the river walk. The water is clean and the boat rides are really fun.

eD Dixon

You just gotta see this place on a warm summer day. It's like a vacation spot right at home. I live here but feel like a tourist when I visit. Worth the time and experience.

Easa Jr.

We had nice walk at river. It is so romantic and quiet place. River was so clean. But there is no many choices of restaurants/ bars.

Reema Gandhi

Yet another wonderful sight to behold, stroll or dine in at — Riverwalk is free to visit and offers considerable fun activities. Chicago Riverwalk is enveloped in by High rise buildings including Trump Tower. Cycle boats, Local Cruises, Water Taxis can be booked/rented on-site or online if you wish to explore more! But keep in mind some Water Taxis/Cruises are available until November only. Sip your drinks by Lakeside restaurants, Cafes, and Bars. We spent about an hour here strolling along and observing local cruises in the Lake.

Nedra Washington

With my first time down there and I have family in from Canada and I took them down and ended up being a very nice experience we walk from Navy Pier to the river while trying to walk to Buckingham Fountain LOL

Michael Duffy

Stay away during lunch hours. Tourists and inconsiderate locals lollygagging and taking up more space than they need makes navigation impossible. During the early morning or the evening though it's great for a run or to get a different perspective of the city.

Sara Estes

Great place to hang out after work. Enjoy a glass of wine at one of the bars while you watch ineubriated boaters do silly things.

Jason Kidman

We did the architecture boat tour and it was fascinating. The amazing yachts on the water are pretty awesome too.

Philip Mansueto

A wonderful family venue with all that’s necessary 2 keep Every family member, no matter age, Intrigued. A myriad of vendors, boat tours & the ever popular etc.

Marian Caporusso

Odessey lunch cruise was fantastic. Interesting info from our narrator Pete, good food, great service and wonderful views of the city from the locks to Chinatown.

Chip Crawford

Scenic, touristy and casual. It's a must stop ambulatory destination if you're in the area, a lot to take in and quite enjoyable.

Jonathan Stofer

The Riverwalk is a good investment at the city made. There is beer and bathrooms and lots of bridges. Definitely a nice place to go.

Kieran Rons

Brilliant tour of the beautiful river and city! Well worth doing the architecture boat tour with Shoreline! I loved it!

Tim Yates

I loved the Chicago Riverwalk. Take a slow walk along it on a warm summers day to appreciate the stunning architecture. Very relaxing.

Janette Cotton

Great views of the city, a must see for tourists, plenty of cafes and eateries etc nearby

Kayode Adebayo

This walkway gives a serenade and picturesque view of some important buildings and offices. Very nice way to spend the evening. Come take a walk!

james harrison

Just amazing it's nice to see a place like this amongst all the buildings. This was a very beautiful experience.

Garrett Kite

Absolutely loved spending time walking along the Chicago Riverwalk on my last visit to the city. Such a beautiful area with a really nice walking path and endless restaurants. Will definitely spend even more time here next time I’m in Chicago.

Snuffy Maya

Beautiful and free! Come take a stroll and enjoy a fun and scenic walk. It’s family friendly. Bathrooms available. But don’t trust your toddler to be off the stroller. My older girls (4 and 7 yr olds) would love this place. Not sure about my almost 2 yr old. I would panic if she walked. Strap her in her Stroller, is probably good for us since she’s so active! My first time walking here was on date night. Lots of bars. You can go bar hoping or simply bring your own drink or soda and enjoy the sunset. After our walk we went to a local restaurant. It completed our night out.

Tyler Do

It is a lovely walk. Perfect if you have dogs as I saw a lot of people walking their dogs. A lot of bars and restaurants on the side with the river view.

K Bergeron

Pleasant atmosphere but nothing special. It's almost entirely the boat tours, restaurants, and bars. There is a museum whose hours are limited, which deprives many visitors of the full river experience. There are port-a-potties but not many so availability is limited.

Sonakshi Soni

When in Chicago must visit this place. It’s along the downtown area and is a beautiful place. Good for pictures too with family. They have boats, kayaks, restaurants around it and close to millennium park. Must visit!

Claudette van Osch

Lovely way to explore the city and soak up the atmosphere while getting away from traffic. To me Chicago's greatest asset.

Tony Irvin

Looking to get out of the normal, this is a great idea and you don't need to know anyone. Good start for the visitors to Chicago.

Sushma Hp

Best things I have experienced in Chicago. I had been there in the night. That sight and sound of the water, the well lit skyscrapers, the calm breeze, everything was so soothing and peaceful. It's an amazing place!

Jennifer Gaag

The Riverwalk has become the place to be in the summertime. An interesting intersection of history, native plants, wildlife, walking, sightseeing, and nightlife.

William Fitzpatrick

Very well done if you don't mind the tourist stuff. We did a boat ride. Walked around and enjoyed seeing the various buildings. The air show was going on at the time we were there which added an interesting element to our visit.

derepa06

Informative and entertaining. I'm not one who pays much attention to architecture and even I can appreciate how much I got out of that tour. Will definitely come again on my next trip to Chicago. Our tour guide Sam was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. If the tour is Karl Malone by itself, Sam is definitely the John Stockton and other Sam (the ship captain) is Frank Layden

Rosalynn Normandia

I always love Chicago Riverwalk, alot of events and adventures to see and do like kayaking and more stuff. If you like bar hopping, too many bars to hop around.

Todd Elliott

Nice place to spend some time. Beautiful buildings all around. Recommend to take an historic building boat tour.

Richard Lee

As a Chicago native, I rarely go to the Riverwalk. But whenever I do, I am impressed by it's beauty. You can get better food and drink in other places nearby, but they will be less pretty, at least in summer!

Sam Parsons

Really enjoyed walking along the river. The atmosphere is especially great on a sunny Friday afternoon after work. Everyone just kicking back having a drink and enjoying the river.

Ezra Golombek

Amazing and beautiful walkway next to the river. Highly recommend!

Arpan Chakraborty

Love visiting the river walk. My favorite part of Chicago. The perfect place for day drinking! :)

Rod Branch

The boat tour along the Chicago Riverwalk was amazing after dark when the city is lit up. It was chilly that night, so we had the boat mostly to ourselves. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and energetic. The drinks were small but really good and powerful. I’d go back.

Elizabeth Pikes

What a beautiful way to enjoy downtown Chicago. The Riverwalk was full of great architecture to look at and artwork. Plenty of spaces to stop, rest and people watch. There are lots of restaurants surrounding the Riverwalk and water canons shoot across the river every hour or half hour. It does not connect directly to Navy Pier and that's a shame. Short detours can still get you over to Navy Pier if you wish.

Andrew Winkler

About 10 degrees cooler than up on Whacker. Even when crowded the walking pace keeps people moving on. Head East towards the lake there's non reserved seating and bean bags. Trade off was had to get your own beer in line but well worth not waiting for tables to open.

Kurt K

Really nice for just walking with somebody and talking. Lots of places to stop by while walking too. The building look nice from the riverwalk too

The Great Purple Fishlord

Surrounded by architectural wonders. Beautiful location, like being in an art deco canyon! Gorgeous.

Kyle Dettman

Chicago has one of the best rivers I have ever seen and the Riverwalk is the best way to see it. The whole thing is dotted with small cafes and such and you can get boat rides up and down the river. This is also a great place to view the city's fabulous architecture away from the hustle and bustle of the streets.

Christopher Lucki

I was impressed with how much the Riverwalk has been improved since my last walk on it back in May of 2007! Within 12 years the city of Chicago has turned a placid walkway into a thriving urban destination with restaurants, bars and activities. Two thumbs up Chicago.
