I'm Sure it's a great Zoo.. my first experience unfortunately is that most of the Zoo was under construction.. Check before you go!

Alicia Hunt

Great exhibits with a lot of variety. Well planned out for families! We had a blast!

Dan Birch

We rode our bikes to the Zoo today and loved it. We recently relocated from Miami and are loving Boise. The zoo here is not that big but it is so well laid out and packed with super cool exhibits and Animals that we were blown away. Boise is such a great city and the Zoo is a must see attraction.

Karen C

What a great little zoo. Had to go for the butterfly exhibit. Love!!!

Lee Handler

The new area of the zoo is opening Saturday and it looks fantastic. Cant wait to see the gorangosa area open. Staff is super nice and the food at critter cafe hit the spot..

Georgie McCarty

Fun experience to share with the family. They had decorated for the Boo at the Zoo event. They are expanding. It was well kept, very clean, busy enough for a weekday. Their assistive devices are first come, first serve, and free. The animals are well tended, and not crowded for the space available. They have the basics lions, tigers, and bears. They have a new reptile house. Keepers were available to provide info. Info regarding the animals were available on site.

Jon Warburton

The Snow Leppard is the most beautiful animal I have ever seen.

SKINNY.__.VINNY

Cool but the bear looked depressed when sitting in the corner.

Daisy Mae

This was our second trip to Zoo Boise and our FIRST EVER BOO AT THE ZOO. We arrived about 10 minutes early and the main gate line was long but they opened up multiple entrances to ease the wait time and it was an excellent idea. All staff members, volunteers, and booth venders were absolutely wonderful and made it an enjoyable time for our 2 year old as well as my husband and I. The Zoo did not feel crowded and everyone was very courteous and polite. We enjoyed the new Baboon, Crocodile, and select reptile exhibits. I just wish there was a little bit more explanation on the study of Lepidopterology but the collection they had was BEAUTIFUL. I have been to quite a few Zoos and Boise's is by far my favorite.

Carol Hutchinson

Love the new exhibits. We were fortunate to be there for the Navy Band playing amazing music in the new stage Bandshell as well. Keep up the great work Boise Zoo.

Paul R. Cortez

Great time with my Daughter and my Grandkiddos ...looking Forward to any and all expansion to the entire Zoo in the future...Thanks so much .. PRC

Vanessa Hahn

Wonderful zoo. It's intimate and clean, the animals are all well taken care of.

Elizabeth Adkisson, MS, LPC, NCC

We visit each year. Each year the zoo grows. The dedication to wild animals and education is really been a refreshing focus. I hope this zoo continues to grow and thrive. A true treasure of Boise. Halloween welcomes special little beasties of a different kind.

Trent Hansen

Great place with many great experiences.

Stephanie Villalobos

Staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. The map is easy to read. The zoo itself is clean and inviting. They have events like Paiting With Penguins and Night at the Zoo. They have times where they let you feed the sloth bear and the giraffes! They also support local conservation.

Jaden Brewton

The new exhibits look amazing! They have really made it worth your money with these new exhibits, perfect for the kids!

Brittni Treese

Great place to enjoy with friends and family. The little guy loved it.

Stephen O'Connor

Staff was knowledgable. Animals looked very vibrant and healthy. Overall, it was a wonderful visit.

Ashley Fruichantie

The new exhibit is beautiful! We enjoy the zoo every time we go.

Rena Rhodes

I was so impressed with the changes that Zoo Boise made! It seems so much more open, the animals seem like they are more relaxed and have more room. The new additions are wonderful. We went on discount Thursday and had a blast. So glad we have somewhere to take the kids that can teach the kids while having fun. Good job, Zoo Boise!

Sunbunny064

The zoo has been overhauled and there are more animals than ever. I wish the zoo would have a bigger carousel donated to it. I was very impressed and cannot wait to go back. My grandson loved the butterflies.

Joel Nydam

An excellent place to spend some time with family. We went with some friends and had a blast touring the new areas as well as the taking in the "riverboat" trip. The highlight was the gibbons, which fascinated my kids and delighted their parents.

Victor Mazo

Lots to see and the petting zoo is awesome. The zoo is not big by any means but they have recently added to it and I am optimistic that they will keep this trend up. Very educational and fun.

Jackie Brewer

Meh. We were having a weekend in Boise with friends, all of us from Salt Lake. We found the zoo online. The giraffe feeding was the clincher for us to go- we didn’t even check-in to the Airbnb first because we didn’t want to miss it. Went straight to the line excited to get up close to an amazing animal. After about 30 min in the blazing heat, the line still wasn’t moving. I asked an employee if sometimes the giraffes don’t want to feed at that time? He said “yes”. The execution of the experience is horrible. Not organized at all. We left without feeding giraffes but I was determined to walk around and at least get my ten bucks worth. Out of dozens of animal enclosures we saw only a handful of animals. Truly a disappointing zoo.

Nicole Lema

The newly remodeled areas are great! Lots of hands on learning experiences and add-ons. You can feed animals, do a cruise in a boat. Great local zoo

Charlotte Hsu

The boise zoo is a magical happy place. The new gorongosa exhibit is very cool.

Eva Gann

The new remodel is absolutely amazing! We had a ton of fun!

Lisa Olaveson

It's not humungous yet but has a good variety of animals. More to come when construction is finished. We can't wait to come back. A lot of fun for the family!

Christina Feeken

It's a good zoo. The animals were very active all the workers were nice. It just needs a little TLC, in the cleaning and keeping habitats clean.

M Robinson

Particularly enjoyed the variety of animals, the personable interaction with zoo keeper staff and the opportunity for animal encounters, feeding goats, sheep, and a bear, walking amid butterflies, a delightful experience!

Alex Langebeck

I have been here a few times, but the last time was a few years back. They did a huge remodel and added many new fantastic structures. My little one loved it and begged us to come back again! The zoo is always a great place to go but if you haven't been there in more than 2 years you need to go again and see the awesome work they have put into updating their facilities!!! Good Job ZOO BOISE!!!

Letisia Tapia

Make sure to take a map to not miss anything. The new exhibit is awesome. My kids loved it!

Alesia Nelson

This place takes excellent care of their many residents and does a great job educating the public about the animals and where their from. Gives you a taste of what it's like to live in the African bush documenting wildlife. They have great conservation goals and help alot of places, animals, and people. They've even been helping Idaho raise money to help treat weeds to prevent wildfires from destroying our land and animals. I can't say enough good things about them.

Hannah La Jeunesse

Had a great time, food was good. There was lots of shade and you get to feed giraffes!

Rattanak Nhok

Nice selection of animals with good habitats. Easily done in an afternoon.

Kassandra Sa

My son loves coming here! We spend about 3 hours here each visit! I recommend getting the family pass! Hubby and I are only $75, my kid is free! Just opened up a cool new expansion! I wish all the exhibits were bigger but it's a zoo. Definitely a biweekly visit here!

It's pointless to argue

Wife and I went to see new exhibits about 12pm, it was about 80 degrees everyone(animals) was sleeping. I recommend but pick your time and temps carefully or you get to watch all the animals sleep(yaawwn..)

abrams familywc

Had a wonderful visit. Price is right, park layout with plenty of shady trees, and best of all the animals. The new section and conservation projects are way to go on point. Thank you Boise zoo!.

Anthony Randall

Terrible views of the "habitat" and most of the animals were either missing or inside and not viewable.took the kids for their 1st trip to a Zoo. They were bored within minutes and have no interest in going to any other zoos. Such a let down.

Simon Billinge

They are doing a good job of updating. Sad to see some of the primates picking paint of the walls and eating it

Mathel Castleton

Great layout and a good variety of animals. Go early before too many people get there.

Jennifer McKay

Love all the work they've done. We had such a great time.

ZimplyG c

Lived it so much!! The staff were so welcoming and sweet. Some sections of it were empty or going through maintenance but I still enjoyed the beautiful walk around it. It is not a big zoo but definitely worth visiting.

Robert Wallenmeyer

The Boise Zoo is soo amazing different species of birds, lot's of animals and reptiles etc. They've really have done an awesome job with the zoo. The admission is reasonable and is well worth it. The parking is free for the first two hours but admissions will give you a form extended hours to put on your dashboard. Enjoy yourselves and have fun!

Ben Harris

Zoo Boise's new Gorongosa National Park exhibits are clean and new, and made me feel like I was in a big city zoo. Unfortunately, the rest of the zoo still feels the same: slightly rundown and in need of some maintenance. While I'm sure Zoo Boise is doing incredible things with their conservation program and their staff is trying their hardest to provide a good guest experience, the zoo continues to be as lack-luster as it's always been.

Kimberly Badigian

I liked the zoo although some displays were closed and they had no elephant and no flamingos no bird sanctuary no zebras and I don't think they have a hippopotamus either :(. They did have a beautiful tiger , giraffes ,lions and lots of goats would love to see them get more animals there..:) still had a nice time there though.

Steve Young

I really liked the zoo here. I'm from out of town and really enjoyed myself quite a bit. I got there before it was too hot, but was able to see hyenas play and fight over food, saw amazing large cats (my favorite), and the Sloth Bear. That thing is super adorable and loved watching them feed it. I'd take her home if I was allowed.

Michael Hudnall

Great zoo for the price. Not the biggest location, but lots of exhibits in the area they have, and staff are very knowledgeable about all the animals. With kids, you can expect to be able to spend 3-4 hours there.

Tricia Ellinger

Family friendly! Buy an annual pass for the whole family, you can't go wrong. We can stay the afternoon or just drop in for an hour, the new addition is amazing.

Brad McMurdie

We enjoy the zoo. Sadly there was a decent amount of construction tbag made it not as enjoyable. We have enjoyed our time at this zoo previously.

Ben Studer

Oh wow! Lots of great changes!! This zoo is small, but delightful. Animals are close and exhibits clean. A great experience

Richard Gaskill

After the construction this place looks great! We had an awesome time here and learned a lot at the same time.

Sherry Anderson

Had a wonderful time with daughter, grandson and son-in-law here!

Matt Prien

I love zoos!! This is a pretty well rounded zoo. I wish you could walk all the way thru without backtracking. My kiddos like the giraffe enclosure and of course monkeys. My daughter always wants to get dipping dots and we love em as well. I like that they allow you to vote of certain projects and the front entrance.

Maresa Youngberg

Medium/small ish sized zoo, but the price is smaller to match compared to what we are used to. I liked that the zoo has a fair amount of shade from mature trees. We enjoyed it.

James Verhage

nice place, very reasonable and free parking included with admission if you park near

jeannine smith

The new construction looks great. The animals may be hard to find but that gives an air of exploration to the visit. The gibbons were hooting today and seemed to be entertaining the crowd on purpose.

Matthew Simmons

This zoo has come a long way since I was a kid. They are currently remodeling to bring in new animals right now and making exhibits nicer. I'm impressed with their continuous efforts to make the zoo bigger and better.

Nate Black

Boise isn’t a huge town by any stretch of the imagination but Zoo Boise holds its own. There are plenty of animals to see and the grounds are nice and adjoin a great park so there is plenty to see and do for the whole family.

Lindsey Seever

By far the very best zoo I've ever visited. We arrived at 4 p.m. and sought every single animal except the crocodile up close and active. I would recommend this Zoo to anyone and everyone

Daniel n Erica Downs

This place is one of our quick road trips we like taking. They aren't a huge zoo but they do have a great variety of animals and aren't expensive. They just opened done new exhibits and have done a great job with them. We recommend Zoo Boise to any zoo lover!!

Gary Ainsworth

They are in the process of doing a lot of work, so there wasn't a lot to see. Hopefully it will be a better experience when they are complete.

Deanna Pietrowski

Zoo Boise did a wonderful upgrade to it's park. We visited on 7/24/19 and were pleasantly surprised since last time we had visited which was a couple of years ago.

Karissa Montgomery

Had the best time at the Boise zoo a couple of months ago. It was my first time going to Boise and didn't even know they had a zoo! My boyfriend and I were just walking exploring this beautiful park when we saw a giraffe statue behind a fence, but then it moved! It was real and in a zoo! We followed the fence to the entrance and had a wonderful day viewing the animals!

John Zacharias

Went with a group of friends including my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I struck out on our own and enjoyed the many different animals. It was a bit of a cold and wet day, so a lot of the animals were inside their barns and/or sleeping. I'm not complaining though, it was still really interesting, fun, and cool! The Tiger was awesome to watch. And Lions are definitely bigger in person. The Sloth Bear was interesting to watch as he watched us. Oh my!

Sarah Jordan

Zoo Boise is always a fun experience. I love that they offer vouchers now if you will be exceeding the 2 hour parking limit. Good call Zoo Boise!

Jonathon Buckler

It was a truly great time at Zoo Boise, for me as an adult and my two girls. The staff was awesome in every way. The kids got to hand fed giraffes, see live bats, hissing cockroaches and so much more. It was an inexpensive experience that the girls will remember for a life time. Excellent smallish zoo. They've done an excellent job with limited space and funds. Giraffes were a big hit. Snow Leopard. Monkeys are great but need new habitats.

Jaxxton Clayton

It was a lovely way to spend a fall afternoon. They have added so many exhibits since I was last there. I was impressed!

Karla Rogers

We LOVE Zoo Boise. Interactive exhibits with a llama, goats and sheep. The butterfly exhibit (when open) is AMAZING!!! Reasonable prices on food and drinks for a downtown attraction. Benches at every exhibit for resting (my parents love) 3 bathrooms located throughout the tour. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and visibly present throughout the zoo. Animal exhibits are clean and well maintained!!!! Parking is reasonable and there IS a loading and unloading area at the front for handicap, strollers, and elderly.

Wying Silvestri

It was okay. Some of the habitats could be cleaner and bigger, maybe even brighter as long as it suits their natural habitat. They were depressing to see in that state. Some of the glass was so dirty. I believe the best ones were there newer more open habitats so hopefully they will look into upgrading the older ones so the animals can enjoy a cleaner environment. Otherwise it was okay, some different animals I've never seen before like the sloth bear.

Rachel Wittwer Erickson

It's an okay zoo! It just doesn't have as much to it as I feel like a big city should have. The new addition is nice but not much is different (meaning animals), just expanded more.

Jeremy Taylor

Always amazing way to spend an afternoon. The renovation looks amazing!

Sheldon Wood

Great fun for the kids! The new extension looks way nice too. The kids loved feeding the goats and the butterfly enclosure

Katey Hurd

Perfect day for the zoo. The animals were out and active. It's a clean little zoo and the new building are nice additions.

paul shaw

Great zoo, lots of animals which appear to be well taken care of. Great place to go stroll and enjoy some education as well

LIFE

Nice tiny zoo, you can walk everything in about an hour or two. Loved the place!

Donna Laswell

Done some great Renovations for all the family it's a beautiful place to go and a lot of fun

Kirstyn Bowers

Now that they have finished expanding it's even better! You definitely have to go earlier when it's warm out because a lot of the animals are asleep in their dens to keep cool.

Misael Baza-Macedo

It's a good small zoo perfect for maybe taking the kids for an hour or 2 but not many animals to see.

Hannah Shea

Our experience at the Boise zoo was outstanding!! My 3 boys are very energetic and in a constant state of motion, they need something fun that can keep up with their busy little lifestyles. The zoo had so much to offer that even as my little ones ran around as much as they could there was always something to captivate their attention or even help them pause and reflect. There are learning experiences and hands on exhibits for busy little fingers. And new and exciting opportunities galore

Jonelle Lee

The animals need bigger enclosures. Minimal effort on decorating the enclosures as well. Was a decent experience. Highlight was feeding the goats.

Andressa Soto

Great zoo! So interactive and fun! Can't wait to come back.

Lindsay Hadley

Lots of animals, i really liked the updates they've done to the place.

Rebecca Stankowski

Lots of construction and penguin water dirty and most animals had small enclosures. Kids enjoyed it and the giraffes were great. Pond and river are deep green. Needs a lot of work but has a lot of potential.

Emily Laurent

Great zoo, all of the animals were out when we went. The food prices were decent.

Kathryn Norton

The cookies were so fresh and delicious. It was our first time there and the girls there were quite helpful and friendly. Sooo much better than going out for pie!

Marilyn Hornbaker

Always enjoy the Zoo. Took three generations for an outing. Even though it was a hot day (98) there was plenty of shade.

Thomas Rubatino

Compared to the other zoos I have been to, this one is beautiful and so much calmer. The parking is amazing! It’s the perfect family zoo.

Alex Kharchenko

I love bringing my son to the zoo, he really enjoys looking at the animals.

Denise Williams

Zoo Boise is very much improved since the revamp. We had a blast and my children learned so much!

Jeannette Marler

Could have more space for animals. Would like an elephant.

LeAnn Bedal

The Zoo is great place to take out of town grandkids. We all had a lot of fun. Thank you ZOO BOISE.

Christopher Henon

Kind of a small zoo. Good for new family trips with children. They host a lot of events and have lots of education pieces all around. I may change my review after they finish their most recent expansion. It's a little over priced for how small it is, but if money isn't a problem its a good way to see some cute animals during a walking excersize routine.

Nicole Marie

Very enjoyable. Only one complaint is that when I went in May a bunch of the animal exhibits were closed. We were unable to see some of the animals we were hoping to see. But enjoyed it enough to return in the future.

Amanda Larsen

A wonderful zoo. I loved feeding the sloth bear. A great variety of animals. The zoo had some nice shade and great for walking arouns.

Taryn Eldridge

I love Zoo Boise so much. The new expansion was amazing and well worth the wait. I have seen a lot of changes over the years and I'm so happy to watch our zoo grow and become even better. I always recommen the zoo to friends and family who have never been before. I grew up at this zoo basically and now take my children often. I can't wait for our next trip.

Sonya Parsons

Love the zoo. I go every year for butterflies in bloom. The new exhibits are great, I was very impressed.

Jeremy Steik

The zoo is looking really good lately!

Erika Land

We went specifically for the butterfly event and I'll have to say I was very surprised with this zoo! For only $10 there are a lot of animals to see. All the animals looked well cared for. We will be coming back here for sure!

Brandon Gowey

Although some of the exhibits were closed. They seem to care very much about the animals. We were there till closing and one of our favorite animals is the snow leopard. So we went to take one more look before the zoo closed and the handler let us stay after so we could see some the the most amazing things this impressive animal is capable of as he fed her. Just an amazing experience.

Heidi Thatcher

We loved feeding the giraffes with our family. They had great staff, who answered all of our questions about the animals. There wasn't a lot of parking though.

Marah Sendoza

Always fun for the kids. Very clean zoo and the animals seem very well taken care of. Staff is kind and it's big enough to feel like you have had a workout as well as had fun. We had a great time. Some kids were here for the first time and it was awesome! Thanx Zoo Boise.

jeffsrawr

Pretty expensive for the lack of exhibits. Used to be way better and have lots more animals. 3/4 of the zoo seems to be under construction so maybe that is why. Went here 4 years ago and it was way better then. Would not visit again until they get done renovating.

Nina Scanlon

It's great to see the Wide variety of animals. I especially love to watch the penguins play, see the monkeys antics and feed the giraffe.

matthew hill

The new exhibits are great and I'm happy to see a transition from old zoo enclosures to new open air enclosures.

Frank Thomas

Zoo Boise is a small urban animal park that manages to feel bigger than it is AND community centered at the same time. They've hit on something VERY special with a youth centered volunteer program. A pleasant and knowledgeable young man helped us learn about the Mongolian history of "Rolling the Bones" (ankle bones of horses, sheep, etc. as a means of forecasting the future). A couple of teens assisting with the butterfly enclosure were friendly, engaged with the subject of their exhibit, and (near the end of a long hot day stationed next to unpleasant smelling animals) took extra time and care of my little ones. With the single exception of a young woman at concessions who was, "too busy" (her words, not mine) to assist with condiments on a lunch order of nearly $100 - and who is to say really, maybe she was - Zoo Boise was a great day from admission to "Exit though the gift shop".

Sean Watson

Pretty fun for the family, except I wouldn't recommend going as soon as they open. All the animals are cold and sleepy still. A little underwhelming as far as attractions and things to do, but still one of the most entertaining things to do in all of Idaho.

Debra Chojnacky

Animals 5 stars! Concession and store employees only rate one star with us! The animals were out and moving around mostly. But, due to the expansion it was difficult to maneuver and figure out where you were. I think I was disappointed because the animals where in different cages and spaces. Some areas concealed one of the animals separating from another. Understanding it is spring and the Animals need separated. I was also disappointed at the end cleanliness of some of the cages . The expansion is inhibiting, because there is so much confusion. It is too bad that a temporary map couldn't be made for this time. The concession workers were rude, they didn't ask if we were having a good time, but more and more concerned about no straws in the regular drinks. They were Kurt no smiles but they always seem to say have a good day after they were indifferent. The store clerk seem to be the worst of the bunch. She was rude, she had a rehearse. Message about no plastic bags anymore. When asked if they had tote bags she said of course and the price and I offered back to her these are plastic. She was more concerned about moving me on. Did not ask how was our visit to the zoo just wanted ice is a customer gone. Of course maybe Saturday's do that for you. The city of Boise has a campaign called be kind. They need to chat with the zoo Boise employees to be kind to the people that pay their wages and visit.

Robert Larson

I have been taking my wife and kids to Zoo boise there whole lives. I have been a season pass holder for over 20 years and watched the changes and they just keep improving the facilities now I get the luck to take my granddaughter also the season passes work at other zoo's they would give a list when you get it if they dont just ask they are very accommodating

joshua martin

Great little zoo with a very nice expanded area.

Riley Winters

Even though this is a smaller zoo, the amount of and type of animals they have is amazing! My favorites are the snow leopards and the tiger. The layout is really nice and flows well. I look forward to visiting again once the construction is complete.

Dawn Wilson

Pretty nice Zoo. I think that the lion and tiger enclosures need improvements. They seem pretty unhappy in them. The giraffes have a nice area. Intrigued to see the new areas that open up July 17th. Should be a nice expansion to this zoo. The butterfly exhibit is pretty nice. Fun watching the volunteers trying to catch the escaped butterflies. I like their petting zoo. The food for $.25 is a rip off, you literally get 5 small kernels of dog food for every quarter. Maybe it is so they do not get overfed, but still.

Christina

Family fun environment. Not only did my kids have a blast, so did I.

Taylor Campbell

The Boise Zoo is an awesome place to spend the day. When the weather is good or they are having a special event the crowds can get intense. Early spring and fall are good times to attend if you'd prefer a more relaxed visit.

Lisa Oquist

Nice clean zoo. Nice size - not too large, easy to do in a couple hours. Love the Giraffe encounter.

Grayson Gersten

We went recently to Boo at the Zoo and had a great time. It was packed, which isn't the norm. Normally, it's busy but not super crowded. Most the animals were out sunbathing and easy to spot from my toddlers line of sight. They have very engaging staff that are eager to interact and share knowledge. We had a great time.

Houston Crudele

Me and my wife had so much fun at this Zoo. The animals were very active making it a fun unique experience.

Amelia Copson

Better exhibit for the butterflies. Something where they can not get stepped on by people not paying attention. More recycling bins would be great. Good price point variety of animals.

Deon Labbe

They did a beautiful job expanding the zoo & adding new critters. The zoo volunteers are very knowledgeable & friendly.

Joshua Pearson

A small and simple zoo comparative to other metro areas in the west but my family always enjoys our visit here. Animals and exhibits are well kept and informative. Staff is friendly and zoo grounds are clean and tidy. We typically visit once or twice a year in the summer months. Our favorite animal is the ant eaters! Our favorite exhibit is the butterflies!

Niki Oquist

Great zoo, with new exhibits... very reasonable admission and membership fees

Tara Johnson

There were so many interactive exhibits for the kids, it made it fun all along the way. Feeding the giraffes was amazing. Wait for a parking spot though, the shuttle from another park was impossible to find.

Christie Carroll

We absolutely love our Downtown Zoo. Is it the biggest or fanciest zoo we've ever been to...? Not even close but it is still fantastic. They've got great exhibits like the Komodo Dragon and some Giraffes. They've got 3 beautiful lions and as of yesterday (although I've yet to see!) a new tiger. They are in the middle of a huge renovation in which they are adding a large new section with a few new exhibits. They are also improving some of the existing areas which is great to see. Why not 5 stars? Boise is becoming a great craft beer haven so why not get some of the local brewers to set up inside the zoo. Bring in some local wine and food as well. Zoos are so far beyond the burger and dogs now. Why hasn't our zoo kept up? I'm not saying we need sushi and a martini bar but a cold beer from The Western Collective and some bison poutine from Boise Fry Co sounds pretty freaking fantastic.... Right?!?!

Courtney Wood

Really cool when all the animals are out to see. Last time we went it was raining so not as great but my kiddos had a blast. Gift shop is outrageous for souvenirs or apparel which is why i give it 4 stars.

Mariah Daniels

The new exhibits were amazing to see. The season passes are very reasonable priced as well as discount Thursdays. I wish the concessions inside were more affordable, but that's the same with anywhere you may visit like that.

Shá McGary

Price of admission is very reasonable. 4 people & only $25! They have made some nice renovations in the 9 yrs since I had been there

Unruly-boys-208

After the remodel it looks very nice and flows well for the walk around

Mary Cummins

Love the improvements made at the zoo! Especially the sloths! Worth it to re-visit.

Judd Durrant

All my life I had almost only visited the Idaho Falls zoo, and the tigers were always asleep. In boise they must have a younger more proud tiger! He was strutting his stuff right in front of the fences and windows. The other exhibits were excellent as well.

Guy Hadwin

The Zoo is a great place to take children, and the Boise Zoo is no exception. We had a good visit, with no problems at all. It is not as big as the Washington National Zoo, or the San Diego Zoo, but for Boise it is a good place to go with kids. right there in the park is this little gem of a Zoo. Well laid out, easy to stroll through with wheelchairs or strollers. the cages are easy to see into. and most of all the animals look well cared for

Arkt1k

I may be biased because I work here, but this is one of the most awesome Zoos I have ever been to. July 17 2019 is the launch date of our new Gorongosa National Park expansion!

Angel Blackwell

Most any zoo is great for all people , we went on a hot day and during luncg/nap time for all anmial friends who reside there!

Melissa Hancock

Was so disappointed. The whole place was under construction. I felt bad for the animals. The exhibits are way too small. Hopefully the construction will fix this. The ocelot had a limp and could barely walk. Poor thing. You could not see some of the animals because the windows were filthy. All and all I would not go back. I understand the possibility we went at the wrong time of the year but all the animals displayed on the website were absent. False advertising.

Sarah Silver

Recent expansion has brought life back into the zoo. New exhibits are very nice, and the old ones are looking better too. Love the penguins! Also got to feed one of the giraffes. Very fun.

Rachel Mitchell

Lots of fun animals. Helpful options for disabled individuals and average-priced food.

E.S. Bright

This is one of the best zoos I've ever visited. The Butterfly Exhibit was amazing. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable & the price is reasonable.

Isaac Fenison

This zoo is holding up barely. We are from outta town and it was pretty bland in my opinion. I feel bad for the animals but dont stomp on me for saying this. Some exhibits didn't have water for them to swim which I felt was not right. Very small cages for the big fellas and I couldn't imagine myself being in such a small area all my life.

Heather Maxey

They have made so many fun and beautiful improvements to the zoo. We have so much fun going and learning.

Amber White

My family enjoys the interactive zoo displays, and the animals. We always find fun creative things to do and can't get enough...we bought a family pass so we can visit over and over.

Grace Tapia

I'm from Cali and I was visiting the city. This was a great stop in our trip. Took many awesome pictures and saw so many animals. They also had these tokens they give you right when you enter along with your ticket of entry, which you could use to cast your vote in where funding could be better spent in maintaining the zoo. I really appreciated that cuz it gave me a sense that even we can contribute to help improve the livelihood of the animals being taken care of. I loved the energy of the staff and had a great time there.

Charles Williams

An amazing and truly enchanting experience. I loved ALL the exotic species!

The updates are beautiful and such great staff and volunteers. The price is affordable for families. And I always feel like the other guests are polite during busy times. We saw a tiger, lions, sloth bear, giraffes, the butterfly exhibit and so much more. Take money for the carousel, feeding the giraffes (1 and 3pm??? Double check those times before going...) they also offer discounts days! Maybe Thursday? Their website is usually up to date with all the info!

As a zoo, it's okay. The restrooms are small. I'm hoping to be able to write a better review when the new portions open in July 2019. We got a membership, hoping to enjoy it as much as other zoos but I've lost interest in returning until there's more to see or do. The slides and play equipment is a really nice touch for taking younger kids to see the zoo. The slide near the monkeys is fantastic because you can look out on the monkeys from up high.

What a surprise! For a smaller zoo it was amazing! They had some different animals and they were active. Hyenas and African wild dogs were so cool to see. Got to see some natural behaviors which is always interesting.

It was like a nice walk in a park. The penguin exhibit smelled awful though. I don't expect great smells in a zoo but it was nearly unbearable. Overall it was a nice experience.

My visit to the Zoo was great. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The exhibits are well maintained and the animals seem content. My only complaint is that we came in later afternoon and they were already putting animals away. I wish they would do that after they close. It is really cool to have this experience here in Boise.

There are so many animals to see at this zoo. The animals were out and about and the zookeeper's were very helpful with any questions I had. There are plenty of opportunities for the children and adults to have an amazing time.

Great zoo. Lots of interactions as well as a wide variety of animals. Well informed staff as well as lots of signs with information. Can go wrong taking the time see visit.

Clean park with great information. Large exhibits and a great education and conservation program. The Sloth bears were my favorite.

The exhibits have changed and grown a lot over the years. This zoo is so much more than it was when I was a kid or even since my oldest kids were little. We fed lettuce to the giraffe and I especially loved the butterfly exhibit. We could go inside and mingle with hundreds of butterflies! We spent 5 hours there and wished we had more time but they were closing. I wish they would stay open a little later into the evening.

Small lovely zoo with fun variety of animals well cared for.

This zoo is so well taken care of and they are building so much more for these awesome and amazing animals. My mom and I make it a habit to visit tons of zoos, this being out 11th, and it was such a great time. The people we're nice, the animals are healthy, just watch out for geese.

Really like the zoo, it was small but very nice. can't wait to return to this zoo, it was very clean and staff was very welcoming us to the park. Will return to this beautiful garden, it had a pond to paddle boat around. The birds are everywhere in this park. Can't believe this is not really advertise around the cities.

Zoo Boise has grown since I was last there many years ago. Their new African exhibit is a nice addition. Located in Julia Davis Park with mature shade trees makes for a very pleasant experience.

I love the Boise zoo. I know it's smaller and doesn't have a huge variety of animals compared to a big city but it is still lovely. They take great care of the animals and are always updating enclosures and variety. You can book birthday parties and private animal encounters. They do overnight sleep overs for kids and a lot of events throughout the year. They work diligently on conservation locally and abroad. Very cool Little zoo. I go at least twice a year.
