We stayed in the yurts! It was fun! Pretty empty in mid May, most trails were still closed. Saw loons, swans, pelicans. Didn't stay there too long, but would definitely come back!

Such a beautiful place to kick around and have a picnic. We enjoyed going through the old buildings and learning a little bit of history of Herriman State Park. We LOVED the three mile loop hike around Silver Lake and along the river!

Love this park. The Staff is very nice. They have great events for families throughout the year and it is such a great place to go snowshoeing, etc. The yurts are fun for overnights. I haven't stayed in the cabins. Too many options of things to do for me to list. Go experience it!

Lori Corbett

Fantastic fly fishing. Be at the top of your game. The fish are wary and smart.

David Butler

Beautiful place and usually good trails, surprisingly, I got there before they groomed the trails for the day. But usually they are well groomed and taken care of. It was fun braking trail for a change around the back side of silver lake.

Samuel Arriola

Very nice and big state park. Lots of trails for you to explore the area. I went in winter to do some cross country skiing. Mostly easy to moderate trails, not to bad for beginners. Plenty of warming hunts, and you can see swans and ducks down by the river.

Jan Schoenmakers

A hidden gem - this is very different from Teton & Yellowstone: a super-quiet, peaceful place that, instead of high mountain landscapes offers wide-open grasslands, pristine lakes & fens and fragrant forests (plus a really quaint ranch!) you can explore without running into other people all the time. The park staff are the nicest people ever, we felt more like a part of the family than like mere visitors. My kids and I loved it.

Cody Diehl

Beautiful! Well maintained grounds and trails.

Ned M.

Definitely a hidden gem.

Peter Moore

Beautiful area; it was a nice place for a picnic. The 5 dollar day pass was well worth it even for a few hours. The staff were all very friendly.

Ethan Burch

Fun place, things to do all year round. Some trails for hiking and in the winter there is some scenic xc skiing to do. Decent pavilions for picnics and groups. Plus the proximity to Island Park and West Yellowstone means that if you are in the area you can see many other sites as well.

Thomas Mason

Neat place to visit for the whole family

Jim Stinnett

Great for hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing. watch out for horseflies in the summer.:)

This place is amazing. I would call it fresh history that you can tour and easily imagine the glory of this place in the early 1900’s

Rich B.

Wonderful park, both for biking and XC skiing. Nice conference facility.

Jill Beck

Great trails, fantastic scenery! Facilities are well kept and the rangers are well informed.

MICHAEL THOMPSON

Stayed in a Yurt and it was a great experience. Be prepared for a 1.5 mile hike to get to your secluded spot. No water or inside plumbing but a clean and well maintained vault. Bring a water purifier to use at the water you cross over about .25 miles from the yurt. Elk, coyotes, and a lot of Sandhills. They provide wood for heat and gas cook top. Light from a Coleman lantern. Sleeps 4 comfortably up to 6.

chris rumrill

Very pretty very mellow. Wonderful wildlife. The lake we road around was calling and beautiful

Christian Lenhart

Historic ranch land ranging from hilly forests to sagebrush fields to grassy meadows, all laced with trails for hiking biking and horseback rides. Some of the old ranch cabins are for rent for overnight stays, and are very comfortable.

Rodney Roberts

Beautiful

Khan Singh

Fun biking and hiking trails.

Man Gyong Kim

Before visiting Yellowstone.

Rick Bassett

Been here many times. The yurts are highly recommended. Excellent place for family outdoor vacations. Make sure to book a horse ride with Dry Ridge Outfitters.

Nick Fullmer

Awesome beginner and intermediate single track mountain biking great hiking and horse back trails

Pete Milosevich

This park is mainly used for going on horse rides. However you can go to a parking spot with great views of the river with mountains in distance. You quickly see why the head of union pacific railroad owned a good part of the land here. There is a nice 1.5 mile walk that goes along a nice lake with trumpet swans and pelicans. However, it was a little muddy for most of that hike along the lake.

Chelsey Keim

A great place to enjoy nature!

Barbara and Jim Williams

This park is a hidden gem! Restored buildings, lots of history and amazing views of the river and land surrounding the park. Beautiful!

Scott Kemp

It was fun to see the park great for family

Elaine Tobias

Went cross-country skiing there. About 2 feet of snow, well packed and groomed. For a small $5.00 fee you can ski through some of the most beautiful scenery around. Lots of water birds, beautiful wide trails, or if you prefer take a second on single-track trails through the trees. The warming yurt, provided by the Idaho Falls Nordic Ski Patrol is a wonderful lunch stop. I highly recommend this adventure.

Joann Shults

Such a magical wonderfull place! The historic buildings are like stepping back in time, you can almost feel how it was like way back when, its a Wildlife Refuge so when hiking the Whimsical trails you never know what kind of little or big critter you will encounter. You can Snowshoe, cross country ski or ride your fat bike in the winter, stay in a rustic yurt or a historical cabin that Harriman has for rent, but no matter when you go to Harriman State Park it will always be a memorable time.

kip rhodes

Only campers there last night. Snowed and was really pretty. Lots of swans, geese. And ducks on the river...

Andrew Enyart

Very unique park and there's more and more to the park if you keep digging for sights to see.

Charlynn Goller

Beautiful

Grant Roth

It is a beautiful place.

Brendan Abbott

Beautiful countryside with a huge network of paths to walk, bike, ride horses, and even cross-country ski in the winter. Has a few historical cottages you can peruse, and even rent for family or work events. I've been in both winter and summer, and each is a unique experience. You can easily get lost if you don't pay attention to where you are going, and the maps they provide are difficult to read (and find where you are).

Jer S

Went bike riding with family for Father's day. This park is so beautiful, but gets crowded.

James Cook

Beautiful place

Marie Iannucci

Beautiful state park with many trails, all accessible for biking. Trails are compacted cinder/gravel and well maintained, suitable for CX, cruiser or mountain bikes. If riding to the park from the Mesa Falls Byway, or the Yellowstone/Warm River rail trail, it's easy (and free) to enter from the "East Gate' located north of the Mesa Falls Byway on Highway Route 20. There are multiple restroom locations and places to get water.

Cindy Rasmussen

Gorgeous day at Harriman, not all trails were groomed, but lovely

Sheldon Wood

Joseph Ballstaedt

It has nice trails for cross-country skiing in the winter. When my wife and I went, it seems that we had the whole place to ourselves.

David Houck

A very pretty setting with the ri b.c er, hills and birds.

Bibi Younessian

Absolutely wonderful solitude!

Nancy Bigham

What a great place!! I love the swans

Eric Whittekiend

Great staff! Very responsive to questions and working on issues we had while visiting.

Tyrell Cellan

There is a visitor station here that sells the most authentic souvenirs in the state, so you got your kid a stereotypical teddy bear that everyone else has, how about an Idaho black bear or a mtn blue bird plushie. Most original gifts award.

Dean Chandler

Beautiful place, nicely redone, and we'll maintained

Sean Adamcik

Not dog friendly

Mike Paananen

Winter wonderland. Great staff and amenities. #fatbike heaven. If you are looking for a winter adventure where it feels like you have the world to yourself, Harriman State Park is the place. Plenty of trails that wind around small lakes or follow the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The yurts are tip top and the staff at the Ranger station are warm and welcoming.

Andy Mueller

One of the prettiest places in Wyoming. Great in summer and winter. World class Nordic Skiing venue.

Norville Rogers

Great Haunts of Harriman!

BeckyLord Lord

No dogs allowed on trails was the only bad thing about the park.

Chayla Teske

Such a beautiful park to visit in all seasons of the year. We helped with the Haunts of Harriman lay October. It was decorated so cute and they had plenty of candy for all the kids that came! It's the safest environment for trick or treaters! Definitely will be back next Halloween!!

Puppys and Hailee things

This is the best place on earth my grandpa has done a good job with the park!!

Donnie MacKay

This Park is a hidden gem. There are so many fun things to do here. Amazing fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and animal viewing. Moose, elk, and deer are common as will as many birds living around the lake and river. So much history here with the ranch. The winter activities like cross country skiing and snowshoeing are so much fun. There's even yurts your can rent. It's well worth your time to bring your family here.

Rex Hoopes

A great old ranch to stay at, comfortable, close to Yellowstone, and some nice river to fish.

Another neat gem tucked away in SouthEast Idaho. Great trails for horses, bikers or hikers. If you get a chance take a walking tour through the old Harriman Ranch. Way to go Idaho!

Kort Black

We love riding the bike trails in the summer and skiing the groomed cross-country trails in the winter! The park is absolutely beautiful.

Tamra Andersen

We take kids from our school up for 4 days and stay in the bunkhouse. And they have a great kitchen area that provide seating for all the kids. It is a great area and the kids had a good time.

Mtnxplor S

Beautiful! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can bike, hike, or ride horses on the miles of trails. Support the park, if you don't have Idaho Park pass, and pay the very reasonable day use fee. Fun to look for otter, elk, deer, bear (signs of anyhow...tracks, stumps torn apart...), birds.

Alan Dudley

I really like Harriman state park. Good things to do and good trails. Really pretty with all the birds and I am looking g forward to taking advantage of the X country skiing.

Glenn Roth

Great facilities. Good trails for cross-country skiing.

Great place for Mountain biking. Bring your fish pole! Very close, like 3ish miles from Riverside Campground and you can access from snowmobile trails, instead of riding Hwy 20!

Robert Hidalgo

Tour guide very informative and just a pleasure to listen to learned a lot very appreciative will tell all of my friends and yes we will be back

Hannah Scherr

Had a really nice 5 mile hike out here yesterday. My route is in pink on the yellow map picture, I parked at the ranchview lot. Really had to pay attention to the turns and map numbers while I was out so be careful not to get lost. I saw 2 gray owls, a bunch of trumpeter swans at Golden lake, and was lucky to hear the elk bugling. It was muddy, lots of horse poop to dodge on the trail. I'd recommend if you're in the area and want to see something new.
