Beautiful scenery here there isn't a lot to it but what's there is worth coming there. The cave is pretty cool too

This was a beautiful area to hike around and explore, the cave was fun and the travertine formations were beautiful. We also enjoyed exploring the rest of the preserve, checking out the active springs and birding. This site is on the Idaho Birding Trail.

This is not the most expansive cave I've been to by any means. But I found it absolutely breathtaking! It's almost entirely popcorn formations all over the walls, sometimes 3 feet thick in areas. It's not as closed off as traditional caves--there are naturally formed skylights from outside in several areas that let in light and warm air. Still, there are plenty of tight spaces to crawl around. When you initially come into the cave, it splits off into 3 directions. The right side goes the furthest (we didn't follow it to the end because it got too small for comfort for a few members of the party), but all directions are fun to explore, and there are a few neat offshoots to look into, too. Definitely bring a helmet if you're planning on crawling through the smallest spaces. It's pretty dusty in spots, so coveralls might also be a good idea. Go when there's no chance of rain, because the cave gets a lot of runoff inside it. PLEASE respect Idaho's beautiful caves and don't graffiti. Pack out what you bring in, and pick up some trash if you can carry it. This is such a beautiful cave, but it won't stay that way if people disrespect it.

My husband and I were on a short trip for our anniversary. While out geocaching, we met a man who directed us here. What a lovely little spot that we would have otherwise missed. We walked around the Cascades, but did not explore the cave.
