REVIEWS OF Bruneau Canyon Overlook IN Idaho

Logan Martin

An amazing and beautiful place.

Zach Brown

One of the deepest canyons in a land filled with canyons and a state with the deepest canyon in North America! The vast, untamed, desert wilderness that surrounds the canyon betrays its existence. Until you are on the edge, it is difficult to believe it exists.

Peter Funk

Best canyon Overlook in the whole us

Rory Fargo

The view from the top is fantastic. Next time I'm going to be there in the morning to see how it looks. Don't know if there's any trails along the river but looking up to the top would make sight worth seeing.

Took the wife on a surprise lunch here, and what a surprise it was! If I hadn't known where we were going, I wouldnt have believed it was there. The latest update makes for a very safe visit, just don't attempt a descent into the valley, there have been several deaths and it doesn't seem worth trying to find a way down. Bring some water and a picnic lunch, and sit awhile since it's so far out, and take it in!

Tim Bondy

The road into the overlook is very rough. The scenery is great but it's a long way to go just for a 15 minute visit. Bring a mountain bike and ride the roads and trails in the area to extend the stay and make the trip worthwhile.

Great out of the way attraction! The overlook has a wheel chair accessible viewing point and vault toilets. Pack your lawn chairs as there are no seating areas.

This is not a common place of interest as it is out of the way to get to. But definitely worth visiting if you are in the region.

The view is awesome! The canyon is quite narrow and that makes it look deeper than it really is. No one else was out there - very peaceful. I'm excited to explore more of the area.

Sandra Moran-Jewett

Majestic.

SAM DUCHARME

Awesome, just awesome!

Awesome lookout over a nice U-bend in the ~900 ft deep Bruneau Canyon. Also if you have a capable jeep or 4x4 and are up for an adventure, you can drive a few miles down a primitive road to the Robeson trailhead. (Maps are around there). From there you can enter the wilderness and hike down into the canyon by foot. The road is quite rocky so no cars or car-like SUV's should attempt. Only decently equipped off road vehicles or you'll end up stranded... Great short hike and beautiful and peaceful place to camp.

Sergei Bobyr

Impressive views left and right. Surprisingly easy to find once researched online. Solitude guaranteed. More adventurous souls can drive 4wd to Roberson TH and decend 600 ft to the river.

Jordan LaCroix

Awesome view, but a long drive from Boise. Combine this with the Bruneau Dunes to add a nice pitstop halfway along the drive.

Bryan Hermans

2000 feet straight down is one spooky canyon. It is like a big crack in the flat basalt plateau. Some complain that it takes too long to get to the overlook. That is part of the wonder: a middle of nowhere spectacle. We were humored by the bombing range warning sign too.

Joshua Cornelius

Love this spot, especially for milky way photography. Amazing geography.
