This has to be at least tied for the spot of the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. When I went it was actually much less crowded than many other beaches I had gone to. The sand is pleasant and finer than many of the beaches around the island. The water is very clear and there is plenty of patches of coral and fish close to the shore to snorkel if you want to do that. Overall a very beautiful, clean beach with great views of the ocean and some islands.

Nice neighborhood beach. Parking can be hard to find as you’re designated to one side of the road and along side residents. But safe neighborhood. The beach isn’t very deep as you are sharing it with residents back yards that warn “no trespassing” and boats that are moored on the beach. No bathrooms or showers where we were.

It's a beautiful beach in Hawaii, what can you really say? Think this was the one where I boogie boarded for a bit; decent little swells for a summer on the east shore of Oahu. Generally very calm though.

I loved seeing there turtles!! I know we should protect them but there was an old man there volunteering yelling at people when he didn’t need to. He was definitely annoying. Anyways stay away from him so you can enjoy seeing the turtles. They are pretty big and cute. It’s funny seeing how the water pushes them on and off the shore.

Super quiet and amazing beach. Water was like crystal. You can see many fishes by your eyes without goggle. Not many public restrooms but it is worth to visit.

Lanikai Beach is the most beautiful and breathtaking beach I've ever seen in my entire life it's blueness is beautiful you can see in the water the sand is soft on your feet and it's never rough so kids can play in the water. Also it's not that deep unless you go far out the only thing that sucks is their is no showers to rinse off all that sand.

An absolute must see! Please remember to clean up after yourself. It's in a residential area and there are no bathrooms or designated garbage areas. It can get crowded and hard to find parking but it's definitely worth the wait and hassle.

Serene beach to relax and enjoy the view. Few tips: * There are no public restrooms here. So use Kailua beach park before/after this stop * There are multiple entrances to this beach, one after every 3-4 houses. So no need to park near the point shown by google, you'll find a way * Park carefully, you can use two parallel to beach roads and it's a minute or 2 walk. Don't block driveways and watch the signs. * We went on a weekday 3pm and it was not crowded

One of the best beaches on Oahu. Little to no cell service (T-Mobile anyway), no bathrooms/other services, and finding parking in the neighborhood can be tough if you aren't there early. Beautiful white sand beach and excellent snorkeling on the reef if those aren't deal breakers for you.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches that I have ever seen! It is extremely busy and parking might take a bit if you don't show up really early. We drove around a couple times before we found a spot, but luckily only had about a 5 minute walk. The beach itself was very full, but it didn't matter to us. Everyone seemed very friendly too! The sand is soft and so white. The water is a gorgeous blue! There are beautiful islands visible as well! We just chose a small spot, threw our stuff down and got in the water! The waves crash frequently and make it pretty fun. The sand under the water is full of very small broken shells and stones, but it isn't painful. We loved this beautiful beach and worked certainly return if we had time!

I loved this beach so much because of the snorkeling. There is a lot of coral just off the beach teeming with life. The coral underwater canyons are prefect for exploring the tropical fish and sea life. The coral was much better shape than and more colorful than Hanauma Bay, but the depths were similar. Tropical fish, sea turtles and coral plus all the beautiful view of one of Oahu's most scenic beaches. Also there are a bunch of outrigger canoe groups who use this beach to launch their boats.

Lovely and lively, both in respects to the people there and the wildlife. The fish population seems much higher than when I visited in 2014; there are some fantastic swims waiting to be had. The people are just as great; tons of friendly tourists and locals hanging out all over. The Lanikai age group canoe club teams are a nice daily activity So nice!

It's super cowded and hard to find a parking spot. However it's fun to do the hike close by and then come down to the beach. The beach has some of the best sand on the island and the water is beautiful. Just please respect the residents that you are parking around.

The water was beautiful and clear, as well as the whole beach being really clean. The water was nice and cool, but not cold. There are two islands a little ways out, adding to the gorgeous scenery. The water had only light waves, really not much more than enough for a rippling effect. With younger kids, that's a really good thing.

Parking was a bit hard to find and For best access to the beach use Access 7. It took a while for us to find the best entrance, but it was well worth it once we found it. It is so gorgeous! I highly recommend you visit this beach.

Amazing beach with nice views, soft, white sands, and clear, blue waters. I recommend coming here during low tide. Parking is free but can be challenging to find a spot, so come here early in the morning. Lots of space to lounge on the beach or under the shade of trees.

It's a beautiful beach but nothing you can't find around the island. Parking is a bit of a pain but the beach does have facilities so that's nice. Also, don't expect to find a "hidden gem." This place is very well known and gets crowded quick.

Great beach to go to but no parking lot. Must find parking around the neighborhood. However, if there's a holiday on a Monday or Friday, there's no parking allowed so must find another way to come or you could get dropped off or park at Kailua beach and walk.

I’d recommend coming here (and even taking a quick power nap) after hiking at Lanikai Pillbox. It’s very peaceful in the morning. Not too crowded, not too hot.

I absolutely love this beach, my favorite place on Oahu. Snorkeling was great just a lot of coral reef to navigate through but you still see beautiful ocean life. Parking is the only problem, it is very limited and you are parking on the side of the road. It is a very congested area.

Definitely the best looking beaches in Oahu but the crowds and parking bring it down a notch. Nice white sand, clear blue water, and usually a nice breeze. Not much to see when snorkeling, and although you see lots of kayaks the rental place is not near by.

Lanikai beach is a special place... if you're looking for a place to fish, Lanikai is it...if you're looking for a nice beach for your kids, Lanikai is it... the sole challenge is finding a place to park... please be courteous to those that live there...park legally and everyone can enjoy a treasure on Oahu.

The beach itself is fine, but don’t get misguided by the many photos that portrays it as an hidden paradise. In the weekend it’s often overcrowded, and it makes hard even to find a way out of the neighbourhood. Personally I’ve never been there during the week, but in my opinion Oahu has plenty of other options

As many others have mentioned, this beach is one of the most beautiful you can find on the islands. One of the best features is that the super horrible lack of parking actually prevents the beautiful how to resend from becoming overcrowded like the Waikiki shores. you can kayak, snorkel, lay out in the sand, or drive around for an hour looking for parking. Anything is possible here, with an emphasis on relaxation if possible. Lanikai Beach definitely reminds you to slow down, that is, after you rush your butts to get there as early as possible. then again, we went at 1 p.m. after a very late start in the morning and managed to find a spot just as people were leaving the hottest part of the day. Bring a nice beach umbrella, and you are set.

I’m loving this beach, it’s amazingly beautiful with clear waters, white and soft sand, not as crowded as some other beaches here in Honolulu, and warm during summer months. I also love seeing the islands near by, they look beautiful in the background and make for awesome photos. Parking is somewhat of an issue though, I had to circle around twice to get here and found that it was just by luck that I was able to find parking. My hope is that they’ll start opening up more parking to the public because I could have easily been searching for parking for a whole lot longer,

Lanikai means "heavenly sea" in the Hawaiian language and when you see it you will know why. It is a pristine Beach and a locals and visitors favorite. Its Mile long Beach of fine white sand and surf less turquoise is perfect for a beach day with the kids and enjoying the view of the world's famous Mokuloa Island. Lanikai Beach offers no public facilities such as restrooms, showers or water fountains.

Lanikai Beach on the East side of Oahu was just lovely. There are no public facilities which can make it a little tricky but it is walking distance from the facilities at Kailua beach park. The beach is beautiful and quite small. It wasn't crowded at all while we were there. The water is calm and perfect for swimming or snorkeling. The ridge walk, Lanikai Pillbox Hike was spectacular. The views were incredible and it was the highlight of our time in Oahu. It is a steady, steep hike and you will need the appropriate shoes and some water, sunscreen etc. It is such a wonderful change from the built up beaches of Waikiki etc. Well worth the trip.

Lanikai beach is absolutely gorgeous! The sand is soft and the water a stunning blue. There are a lot of large rocks where you might spot some fish. The slope is gentle and you can go a decent length without things getting too deep. There were a lot of people on the beach but we went on a Friday so that's to be expected.

Do the Lanikai pillbox hike and reward yourself afterwards with a visit to the beautiful Lanikai beach! Pristine sand, clear water, mild waves that are great for toddlers and young children. Note that there are no facilities and parking is limited.

Beautiful water but crazy busy and not a very wide beach. Also, parking is a nightmare. I’d suggest going somewhere like sunset beach instead. The parking trouble isn’t worth it for this beach. You can find just as beautiful ones all over Oahu.

This is easily one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen in my life. It's a bit off the beaten path (less tourists) and it was windy, but the water) beach was serene and the water was beyond beautiful. You can find parking along the street behind it on the residential street, and then walk on the marked pathway between the houses to get there. Just be careful - at high tide you might not be able to get back to the path you took down!

The most soft sand you'll feel in all of Oahu. It's like you're walking on powder. This is a community beach so there are no showers. We visited the beach right after the pill box hike sunrise, so the beach was quiet and calm. You can watch the canoes go out and back. There seems to be more jellyfish than usual at the beach so be careful of you are swimming because they are actually quiet small but have a long blue tentacle.

Just wow, this beach is amazing! Soft sand, clear water, and fish and other sea life a safe distance from the shore for amatuer snorkelers. Beware the rocks, they are quite sharp. There are no bathrooms on site so come prepared, and there is little to no shade. Parking can be rough so get here early. I know some of this sounds negative, but despite the small flaws this beach is one of the best I've ever seen.

Beautiful beach with warm calm water. Great fun for our toddler. Lanikai tops the list of beaches to visit on Oahu. Parking is a bit difficult- please obey signs! There were a few baby Portuguese man o wars in the water, but we were vigilant and did not get stung.

World class and for good reason. Far from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. A serene place with great views and a wealth of water sports. Be prepared, however, it is a one mile walk to the nearest convenience store/restaurant for refreshments.

My favourite beach in Hawaii. Softest sand. Clear and calmest waters. Not overly crowded. Very little rocks. Perfect place to dip in the ocean for a swim or relax at the beach with a book or to simply tan. I found the vibes of the people are very friendly there too. Mind you, some people prefer to keep the volume at a respective minimum but depends on the crowd. Parking is free but a bit difficult at times and then you have to walk to the location but it’s worth it!

During my week long trip to Oahu, we went to this beach twice. Parking is at residential neighborhoods and it can be quite crowded in the weekends. Would love to return here again.

Beautiful beach but you have to get there early for low tide. At the end of July, the beach disappears by noon! Calm waters and clean sand make it the best beach we went to on the island. Can get busy but plenty of room to spread out. Good luck finding parking near the public accesses.

Beautiful views, fine sand, warmest water I've been in here. Very crowded, no changing facilities or sand wash off that I could see. The parking is all in the neighborhoods around the beach. It's beautiful but of all the beaches I've been to here honestly it wasn't my favorite.

Easily the prettiest beach in the world! Come prepared with a beach bag, a beach chair and a book, you will not want to move once you soak in the beauty of this place. Water is beautiful sea-green, pristine golden sand and beautiful views in every direction. Getting here is bit confusing as there is no beach park area, just pathways through the residential street to get to the beach. Parking is on the street and does fill up quite early - park legally, watch for No Parking signs and do not park near the bike lanes. No public showers or restrooms. Linakai Beach is a small beach stretch on the windward side of Oahu, beautiful and perfect !

A perfectly picturesque beach with pristine sand and a great view over the ocean. I'd never thought i'd encounter this - but the water was too warm for my liking! The private ownership means that there are no facilities to use for washing off sand, or rest-rooms.

WONDERFUL! Experience with the family. Do your research ahead of time. This is in a community and you will drive in circles to find parking. Fortunately we were able to get prime parking from someone that was just leaving near the main access point. Awesome was not to crowded. What an exciting mix of locals and tourist. SNORKEL? Yes! The water was a bit cloudy after some storms but there were so many fish to see among the living coral. What an experience for the family. Great beach to relax and enjoy some fun watching the fish or if you want you can rent a canoe not far from the beach. (Research). Many were canoeing and dropping anchor just before heading to a small island near by. If hiking is in you interest. You can do a pillbox hike just before hitting the beach. So much to do in such an amazing community. Enjoy!

This beach is amazing. Really enjoyed swimming there. The water is clean and clear. No changing facility though and no proper parking spots, so people end up parking randomly on street sides. Lots of waka ama practice and races there.

Gorgeous beach, but NO FACILITIES! if you visit, please bring a small trash bag so that whatever you take on the beach, you can take off the beach! Parking is very limited and it can very popular on three day weekends!

Wow! I dream of this beach still. We brought our snorkel gear and headed out in the calm waters of Lanikai beach to see some very colorful fish & coral. We played for hours in the soft putty sand while simultaneously napping under large frawns. I never wanted to leave, it was perfection.
