I loved the experience. It is great for kids and adults as well. CJ was our miner and he was great and really cool. Jennifer at the entrance was very sweet and informative. The truth is that everyone is amazing.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon and I really enjoyed my experience here. I first went ahead and did the gold panning - they show a very brief video to point you in the right direction as to how to pan for gold. We then went on the underground tour and it was a very interesting experience. The first thing you immediately notice is that there's water actually gushing into the mine (just like any other underground mine), but they have pumps that pump the water out. We then walked in the mine for about 40 minutes and then came back up. There are certain parts of the mine which are not accessible since they are too flooded and the tour guide will show you that. Hard hats are provided for everyone, so I would suggest using them especially if you are tall. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything out in detail. When you come back up, there's a small gift shop for visitors to check out. I would definitely recommend this mine to everyone who hasn't been up to north Georgia and explore the history of the Dahlonega gold rush.

Dave Cipriani

Wonderful place to visit. Staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Many stairs and steep paths but they go slow and never rushed anyone. Plan on spending and hour there.

Jennifer Howe

The tours are fun, and the gem mining was great; my kids got tons of cool rocks to keep! Great place for kids.

My family and I visited the gold mine on a Saturday and it never felt crowded or rushed. This was one of my favorite attractions while on our vacation. Our girls are ages 5 and 7 and they were entertained as well as my husband and I. They offered a brief history of the mine which was entertaining and short enough that the girls did not get bored. We purchased the $50 gemstone bucket and the girls shared it. It took them about 20 minutes to pan through the entire bucket. They ended up with plenty of stones to share. Overall a great experience.

Kayla Hoskins

Had a great time touring the mine, our tour guide was friendly, informative, and engaging. Would recommend this for people of all ages.

The hidden gem of Dahlonega! No pun intended! Me and my fiancé came here on our first day in town and had a great time. The gold sifting and mine tour are educational. For us, the best part was the gem buckets. We ended up with some amazing specimens! Not only can you find great pieces, but you can have them turned into jewelry. We are having one of our blue topaz’s turned into a pendant, and having a ruby turned into my wedding band. This place is a must visit in Dahlonega!

Wonderful experience no matter what age!!

Buy the package deal with the gold history museum. Learn about Georgia gold, pan for it, sift for gems, and go into a historic underground gold mine.

Jim Adams

My wife and I enjoyed the experience. It was a very warm day and the mine was really nice and cool. They gave us some good instructions on how to pan for gold. Can’t wait to take our granddaughter back so she can go down in the mine and pan for gold.

Sheaelisa Sheaelisa

What a wonderful and unique experience we had from start to finish. Loved exploring a real mine and learning about the miners from our very friendly and experienced guide. We would definitely recommend this adventure to friends and family. Thank you!

The staff is very kind and welcoming, Very clean restrooms and the well kept. The mine tour was so fun and informative, great place to spend a hot summer day. the gold panning was fun for all ages and the gemstone buckets are well worth the money.

Kenda Hettinger

Kids love to find the gemstones. You get to keep everything you find and they help you identify what you have. They will also take your stones and cut them into jewelry.

Dan S

Pan for gold and enjoy an amusing tour. Great fun.

Brigitte Lee

Wanted to find something to do while driving thru Georgia that would be fun with my in-laws and daughter. Came across this place from a flyer at one of the visitor centers so we decided to go. We got there just in time since they close at 5pm on Sundays. We arrived at 4:30pm and was immediately greeted when walking in the door. We purchased our tickets for the gold mine panning and mine tour. Cost about $80 for 5 of us. We got our tickets and headed back to watch a video on how to pan. After the video we got our pans and had some fun panning for gold. Pretty quick experience. The staff in the panning area were very pleasant. After, we headed back inside to find out where to go for the mining tour. Was told to wait out back which we did after taking a stroll in their gift shop. Purchased some souvenirs and tried to make small talk with the lady working the front but she want too friendly. Made our way to the mining tour which our tour guide was very cool. Cool experience if you're in the area. Be sure to wear good shoes since the floors in the mine are wet and can be slick.

J Neal

My family loves this place! Fun for the kids and the adults.

Javier Cruz Fonseca

Great place, it is fun and very interesting.

Tiffany Harding

Awesome place with very friendly people!

danny smith

Very good experience Tristia and the other miners sorry couldn't rember there names but there wonderful people .Dalonega is beautiful and the people are kind .it's very expressive motel rooms buy ta great experiance .5 stars from me and my family

Sheamus Kenny

Mine tour is interesting. The panning and gems are highway robbery, as is the gift shop. They purchase concentrates and add it to river sand. If you want a real panning experience at a reasonable price go up the road to Crisson.

Nina Estep

Loved visiting here, staff was awesome, very helpful and knowledgeable. The history is there is awesome! Lots of great gifts in the gift shop at good prices. The tour was awesome, that's a must do if visiting the area. Looking forward to bringing my family there in the fall.

Simone James

We loved every bit of this experience! The tour, the guide, panning for gold and sifting for gems. It was very informative. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great day trip. You will not be disappointed!

Debra COX

Nolan was a GREAT tour guide-interacted well with kids and adults alike! Informative staff and very friendly and helpful throughout:) will definitely visit again she my youngest gets a little older!!

Jennifer Lynn Bollhofer

This was our second year taking our kids here. CJ was our tour guide both times and we weren't disappointed. The kids loved being able gem mine and take home gems to show off to family.

John Nickell

Pretty good mix of fun and history. Made it a rainy day event and had a good time.

Amanda Miles

The consolidated gold mine was so much for for our family. A smidgen of a money pit, but one we got to the actual tour JD, our tour guide, made the whole experience worth it. When you first get in they give you a color ticket and I assume they allow everyone enough time to "pan for gold" first. You will watch an instructional video on how to pan, but skip it and have someone help you. The kids practically lost all of their gold flakes before someone came and showed us some tricks. The experience was fun though, and the panning came with admission so no harm no foul. Since my 3yo was free we splurged and got the gem mining which our kids enjoyed a lot. For a 3 and 6 yo we got the $15 bucket (look for the small print) and it was more than enough for them. They left happy with their "souvenir" gems. Again, JD our tour guide was really great, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. You can tell he thoroughly enjoys his job!

Timika Stanley

Everyone was so very nice, helpful, and energetic. Our tour guide, Jason, was awesome!! We enjoyed learning the gem stones with you guys. The atmosphere was just pergect for the family and newly weds, like us. I would highly recommend this historic and fun filled experience for anyone with a love for people, nature and history. Thanks guys, Timothy and Timika.

David Brodosi

Great place to take you family in the summer! The mine is nice and cool. My two boys really enjoyed the tour. My wife, who doesn't like closed spaces, was comfortable while on tour. Lots of space to move around.

Laura Erickson

My fiance and I needed a weekend get away so we decided to check out Consolidated. And we are so glad that we did! We got there when they opened at 10am and stayed till almost closing! We "soaked" in every part of it. I haven't had that much fun in years! We were first greeted by Jennifer and then Nishala. By the time we left Nishala had us feeling like family. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. Miner Sam gave a wonderful tour of the mine. Then we went gem stone mining and found lots of gems. Miner Mike helped me with designing my earrings. I decided on three stones a Ruby, Blue Topaz and White Topaz. The Blue Topaz are my favorite. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to come back in a week for my birthday with my sons and my mom!!!

Carrie Peek

This was so much fun! Our guide Nolan was very funny and knowledgeable. I loved getting to walk through the underground mine and learning about how the miners extracted the gold at great risk to their health and even their life. Highly recommend!

Kristin Hensley

We took our 3 year old today and we ALL fell in love with this place! He loved panning for gold and the tour was so fun and informative. Everyone that worked here was so friendly and helpful, we would recommend this attraction to anyone!

Andrew Kan

Amazing experience going through the gold mine. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. They have other activities like gold panning and gem mining. They were very fun, especially for kids. The staff was very helpful if you don't get it at first.

Hans Jaquez

Excellent place to bring children and learn about mining

Nick Horton

Didn’t know GA had gold mines, especially one that’s open to the public for tours. We took the whole clan to the Consolidated Mine in Delongia, GA. 18months to 65 everyone had a blast. Started out with some panning for gold then had the kid find gems in a bucket of ore on a water table. Actually found some really neat and beautiful stones. The entire staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the history of the mine. Special shout out to Miner Mike at the gem table and Miner Jason who was our tour guide in the mine! Very safety oriented and eager to share everything he knew about it. My 6 year old had about 300 questions and Jason and the team took all the time to answer everyone of them! Highly recommend especially on a warm summer afternoon as the inside of the mine is nice and cool! Thanks

Shavon McMurray

I went with a friend from out of town and had a blast. Tom was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable about the mines. All of the staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful. Enjoyed panning for gold and gems. I'm hoping more of the tunnels get cleared eventually and the tour expanded. I will be back with my daughter, I know she will greatly enjoy the experience. Highly recomended.

Alan Bildzukewicz

Miner Greg was great! The place is great and our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly.

Chris T

Very interesting and fun. You should go.

El Jefe

We had an amazing time with the Mine tour, Gem mining and the mining for Gold! Love all of their hospitality too!

Melody Cromer

I'm going to go here because I've heard so much about it down throughout the years! So many folks have went and told me it was tons of fun worth every penny! They stayed busy and the whole town was awesome to behold!

Micheala Chavis

It was an awesomely fun experience. Visited from Pickens SC. Took our three kids. Ages 2, 6, and 11. They all had fun. I would totally recommend this for families. We panned for gold and went on a tour down in the mine. My 2 year old had more fun playing in the water at the panning tables, not so much down in the mine but that's expected. My older two kids enjoyed the whole experience, they even got put to work and was paid for their time and efforts. They also offer gemstone panning and have a wide variety in the gift/souvenir shop.

elaine dixon

Went there today,LOVED it. We had so much fun. The staff there were very nice and so friendly. The sweet lady showed us the name of our stones. Our tour guide in the mine was awesome. Can't wait to bring my kids up.

Claudia Wallace

It was great we all enjoyed it... We will be back again soon

scott s

The tour is good but a bit over priced. The gift shop is decent but has the same stuff you can find anywhere. The prices for gem mining are FAR to high.

Gregory Hager

An amazing experience!! While visiting the area for my sister's wedding, we wanted to see something that the area was famous for, and the Consolidated Gold Mine did not disappoint. The tour guide, Miner Nick, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. After the guided tour, we took part in a gold panning activity where we uncovered four pieces of gold! Great times.

Yuji

The place was very exciting, I went here on a field trip and I had a blast I hope the next people who come here will find it very nice and amazing to learn about how they used to mine gold as I did.

chris crisis

Awesome place to visit and learn about. The tour guide was funny and friendly. Fun place for a family.

Amy Jo Tweedell

Neat tour in a real mine. The kids enjoyed panning for gold too (which was included with the cost of the tour.)

Joell Ashley

The staff here were very welcoming and friendly. The gold panning was fun for kids and adults, and the tour was wonderful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the information understandable for all ages. The mine was a wonder to experience. I will recommend this to others visiting the area

Greg Goss

Better than other "panning for gemstone" type places. Our family had a great time panning and talking with Miner Mike.

G- mo

Met the owner. What a kind and fun guy. Awesome and clean place. Tour was super fun. Got some beautiful photographs. Def recommend.

Tammy Enzman

This place was lots of fun. The people there are very friendly and helpful. Just make sure to wear closed r toe shoes and a light weight jacket (you will be going into a cave like setting.

zorro

We had an incredible time. I highly recommend it for people of all ages! Our tour guide Chris was so fantastic! He was kind, informative and really enjoyed his job. Everyone there is so helpful! I would say this is a must for everyone! I will be back!

monica hutto

The whole experience is great! The staff is friendly, fun and filled with information!

Leanne Ramsey

Great place. Nice tour of the gold mine, tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Kids enjoyed panning for gold, which was included in the cost of the tour. We found 5 gold flakes in our pan, which they put in a tube for us to keep. It is a little chilly in the mine, 50 degrees. Wear a jacket and it is muddy, so wear boots. Our daughter is a rock collector so we paid the $30 for a bucket of gem stones. It produced a lot of rocks for her to keep. She enjoyed that the best. All the staff were very friendly. Fun little family trip.

Counting Kills

We had lots of fun panning for gems. Would have loved to go through the mine, but with the wife being pregnant she wasn't feeling up to it (that's not to say there is no reason pregnant women cant go through, there is plenty of room to maneuver and good air ventilation, she just wasn't up for it today.) Highly recomend.

J Assad

Came with school field trip. Great experience and fun for whole family. Amazing history about the gold mines right here in Ga!

devon strickland

We had a rainy day which kept us off the local hiking trails. We decided to take my 7 year old to CGM. We had a great couple of hours! It was very informative and my son loved the panning and gem bucket. The mine tour was pretty amazing. Everyone, I mean everyone, from the friendly folks in the gift shop, to the tour guide, to them gem identifier who helped us name the stones my son sifted out of the bucket were fabulous! Super friendly, funny and engaging. This was a pleasant surprise on a rainy afternoon!

CRAZYhamm

Took my mother and girlfriend out here for a bonding day, and let me tell you...IT WAS AMAZING! Even our tour guide was amazing, he was able to make everyone laugh and was very respectful and knowledgeable. There is also a gift shop here that completely is fair in price and the items they sell are great. Definitely recommending it to friends.

Jody Sanders

The tour was very thorough and well done. Our miner, Tristan, was friendly and knowledgeable. We were also able to pan for gold as part of our admission. Overall, we were impressed and found it worthwhile

Kevin Laird

Fun and interesting trip underground. About a 45 minute tour of the mine. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny.

George Heart

Of all the Goldmines around Dahlonega and Helen, this is the most fascinating! The underground tour was awesome and the miner tour guide quite funny. Learned a lot about how morning worked in the days... We also panned for gold in their mine and everybody went home with a wee bit, but real gold from the stream. Souvenirs were, off course, overpriced. A wee bit of a tourist trap, but worth visiting. Recommend you visit the Old Court House and Gold Museum in downtown Dahlonega before hopping over to the Consolidated. It will give you a good understanding of the mine and the history.

Just Cruzin

Place is super neat and interesting. The staff was very nice and helpful with everything.

Edgar Bernache

Had a great time very friendly staff

Cody H.

Last weekend I took my 3 little ones (3, 6, 8) to the gold mine that I loved as a kid on school field trips decades ago. We had a blast, prices were reasonable and the staff provided great customer service. I think I had just as much fun as they did and we worked on being brave during the mine tour, they all handled it very well and want to go again soon!

Rebecca Beck

Wonderful time! Found an awesome Emerald plus a smaller Ruby and Garnet

Tiffy-T Amend

This place was fun and family friendly— our tour guide was Jason and he was terrific!!! Semper Fi~ Highly recommend this for something fun to do if visiting the area!!! Staff was super friendly-

LilyNoLikey

It was nice! The gold mines were rich with history. The tour in enjoyable and our tour guide was funny. The panning for gold and gems was fun too, especially when you find out how many flakes or what kind of gems you get. The staff was nice and friendly, all having a nice sense of humor. I would recommend to go, but it might be a little costly.

Katelyn Gray

Very much enjoyed the gold mine tour and it was very educational. Our tour guide, Jason, was very upbeat, nice and intent on safety. Wear tennis shoes!! We got to gold pan after and came up with 5 pieces of gold all together which you get to keep, then paid to sift a gem bucket where we found multiple different gems and stones. Will definitely visit again!

Gary Davis

Had a great time there Mary was wonderful to work with with the gems and the designs for cutting for the jewelry!

Wayne Wallace

We had such a great time here. Everyone was super friendly. We got to pan for gold, which is a talent in itself, got a few flakes and a tiny nugget to take home. The mine tour was about 30 - 40 minutes and was blast. You get a great perception of what it was like to be a miner and believe me it is hard work for a small pay at the time. The history of the mine is fascinating, basically it was closed and flooded, then reopened when gold prices shot up. There is also a nice gift shop. 5 stars for Consolidated Gold Mine.

Todd

Nice informative tour, without having to be an all day event, for those just passing through the area. Included panning turned up some gold. Very friendly staff, and pricing was reasonable. Glad I stopped. Sure felt better about my job after leaving there!

Jim Haskins

Fun experience, steeped in history. Great people all around and our guide for the mine tour was the best! I highly recommend this activity.

Jeff Smith

Great people. Had a really fun time

Melody Lowe

My daughter's favorite place. Something for everyone.

Debbie g

Our summer camp had a great experience. The staff was so friendly. They made the outing very enjoyable. The cave and panning experience was memorable.

Danielle McFarland

My 5 year old son and I went for gold panning, mine tour, then gemstone panning, and we had an awesome time. Our guide Tristan was very knowledgeable about all the cool facts of the mine and made the tour interesting and upbeat with his quirky personality. All the staff here that we had the pleasure of working with was amazing. Everyone was very nice. I would recommend this to anyone in good physical shape. There is somewhat steep hills and stairs in the mine so not the best idea if you have trouble walking.

Lucy Martin

Great place, Great people. Good place for kids big and small. My grandboys ages 11 and 7 love it there. We went last year and they requested we go again today. It costs to see the mine but you get 1 pan to pan for gold in the price for admission. And it costs extra to pan for the gems.

Bob Albury

Nice little adventure for the family. We enjoyed planning for gold, taking a tour of the mine, tour guide was great, informative, professional. The grandkids really enjoyed searching for gems and ore. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and treated us like miners. Worth the ride to Dalongna.

Eric Jackson

Really fun for the kids. Gold panning and gem mining was great! Miner Chris is an excellent tour guide. I'm sure we will return when we vacation in Helen and Dalhonega again.

Steven Pope

Kids loved it and so did I! Gold panning comes free with the tour, but we also opted to do gem panning. All the tour guides seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. Was a great way to spend an afternoon

Emily Griffin

I stopped here for the sake of my son who loves gold mining. He’d never seen a real underground mine before, so I thought this would be a wonderful experience for him. He LOVED it!! I cannot tell you enough how wonderful and how patient Miner Tom was!! I have bad knees that dislocate, and the walk throughout the underground mine was not easy for me at times, but Miner Tom was a fantastic, understanding guide! After the tour, my children panned for gold, and got a couple of small flakes. Then, they had fun in the gift shop. Overall, this was a terrific memory, and I highly recommend a visit here for anyone traveling in the north Georgia area. It was well worth the trip!

Ariel Alcazar

Well these are my photos from when I visited Georgia back in June as of this year, it was so much fun cause I even got to visit the mines down under so our Tour guide had told us that we were just below the Walmart. Walmart was just right above us while we were in the mine & at the end our tour our group got to go mining for gold ⛏ but when I went mining I only found just two pieces of gold!

Ann Drexler

Enjoyable, informative, experienced panning for gold and walked away with some. No crowds in Jan. and Feb.

Justin Sheffield

Had a very pleasant experience touring the gold mine they had here. Nolan was an excellent guide and he offered a lot of great information and humor! The panning for gold was a neat experience that didn't take too long and we ended up with some gold to take home. take time to do the gem prospecting... what a fun time! Ended up walking away with a ton of gorgeous stones that I could take home and enjoy polishing. The staff was friendly and courteous. Check this out if you are ever in Dahlonega!

Jon Schrage

Very good tour! Much more information than I expected!

Coleton

I came here with my girlfriend to have a different date istead of just being at home or eating out. It was a fun experience our tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable with a sense of humor. I also came back to turn one of my garnets I had found into a ring and the ring was was great quality. Would definitely use them again for jewelery.
