Historical venue woth great acoustics. Everything sounds great here.
Beautiful venue, always clean and friendly staff. Usually host art loop once a month (1st Friday) for free.
I hadn't been here since the early 90's on a school trip and I now live two hours away in the DC area. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I went in with an open mind. My boyfriend and I saw Video Games Live and the whole night was absolutely amazing!! There's free parking on Saturdays and Sundays, and there were plenty of spots near the Grand. Will Call was a breeze, the ushers were SUPER helpful and nice, and it was just an all around great venue. We will definitely be back!! Well worth the two hour drive!
It was a beautiful place with different designs
One of the best place to see a show
Love this Theatre. Beautiful architecture. Amazing History, with a very wide variety of shows to choose from. A wonderful place to see any performance.
Great entertainment venue in Wilmington.
I love the grand it's a beautiful venue with wonderful sound a rich history and a wonderful place to see your show
They have great visitors. Wide verity of shows. Always enjoy myself.
Street parking for tour bus
Really great place to see a comedian or musician. Really intimate and closer setting compared to most of the other places I have seen comedy shows or musicians. Actually see things you might not get to see elsewhere do its smaller venue. Think Nirvana unplugged with some of the musicians and in your living room with your comedian friend. There are lots of good restaurants/bars nearby. This is one of the few streets that make you glad you are in Wilmington.
Love this theater really enjoyed it ! My husband and i love this place it is immaculate! The shows are awesome
Wonderful historic venue, also home for First State Ballet and Theater. The venue still has the historic decor and atmosphere eventhogh it has been fully renovated and restored. It's a great venue in Wilmington, DE for concerts, theater and Ballet performances.
Love It
Great venue employees were extremely helpful
Wonderful historic setting with great entertainment.
Wonderful historical Opera house! Amazing performance by violinist Damien Escobar & Staff member Mr. Ward provided exceptional hospitality.
Great sight lines for most seats. The sound is usually good throughout the house. The acts are not as varied as they used to be (maybe too many options in the area?). There are jewels to be found. Usher staff is friendly and efficient. Box office is hit or miss.
There's not a bad seat in this place. It's beautiful inside. They do a good job of having a diverse mix of entertainment.
Classic Albums Live Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was amazing!
Amazing architecture, quality performances come often
Great acoustics in this venue
Went to the Rhapsody Concert.
Love Joe Biden and the theater is awesome
old world style
AMAZING I FINALLY GOT TO SEE CHRIS D'ELIA LIVE AT THE GRAND OPERA HOUSE IN WILMINGTON DELAWARE, IT WAS A BLAST. AND ALL THE OPENING ACTS KILLED IT I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH CHRIS'S NEW ONE HOUR COMEDY SPECIAL HE BLEW ME AND MY FIANCE AWAY... THE 9NLY THING I HAVE TO SAY BAD ABOUT THE THEATRE IS ITS VERY SMALL SO BE PREPARED TO BE CRAMMED IN THE THEATRE AND SEATING THANK GOD WE WERE IN THE FRONT ROW OF THE BALCONY SO WE COULD PUT OUR FEET OVER THE EDGE BUT OTHER THAN THAT AN AMAZING PRESENT FROM MY FIANCE.... GREAT NIGHT ALL AROUND
Great venue.
Wonderful venue.Second time seeing Pink Martini what a performance.Beautiful music and singers.Great orchestra !
Great ambience, fantastic viewing orderly ushers.
Went to The Mavericks concert in Copeland Hall, sound and lighting effects fantastic. Staff was polite and helpful. First time seeing the group but have their old 90s hits. The Mavericks were fabulous, they entertained us for 3 hours the audience loved them. Best concert I've been to for a very long time. People were dancing, clapping, singing. Wilmington was a nice surprise and I would definitely come to the grand opera house again and again. Wonderful night.
Pleasant venue. The Credence Clearwater Revival show was excellent. The Grand quaint, clean and inviting. The ushers we're helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the show.
Beautiful place, no bad seats, great acoustics and amazing performances
Gorgeous theatre, intimate setting to see anything.
Great wedding, great venue.
GREAT SEATING. VERY VERSATILE PLACE. WATCH THE POLES THOUGH.
LOVE IT! Easy Street parking nearby.
Two shows in two weeks. A great variety in their line up and the venue is great.
Always a great time! This is a real gem, the venue is outstanding and the staff always excellent.
Awesome evenings! Boney James was awesome thr sound was great!
Loved the Pink Floyd laser show. I wish the sound would've been better. I didn't care for the 3D glasses, I actually liked it better without them.
Great venue, great show
Never been here
It's a landmark. The huge French windows with red drapes are grand Very eclectic gathering
Good
Always good entertainment!
The Grand is one of the best venues I've ever been to for any performance. They have a great variety of talent from music to comedy, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
Love this theater!! I wish they would play all shows in here instead of the Baby Grand. I wish that the ushers weren't so stuffy and allowed us to take pics, videos, dance. But I still love this venue.
We've been to many shows here, and it's always amazing!
I personally enjoy the theater. I really appreciate the up close and personal seating.
A beautiful historical gem in the heart of downtown Wilmington. The season's shows are varied and entertaining and the staff is friendly and meticulous about taking care of the theatre. The interior architecture alone is worth the visit. Originally built as a Masonic temple and auditorium it boasts beautiful giltwork on the columns and supports and even a fresco painting on the ceiling of its main performance space, Copeland Hall. The Grand contains three performance spaces: the 1,140 seat Copeland Hall, the 305 Baby Grand, and the 1,252 seat Playhouse located in a separate building on Rodney Square previously known as the DuPont Theatre whose construction was completed in 1923.
The Grand Opera House is a beautiful & intimate venue. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. We saw two operas: Trial by Jury, & Scalia & Ginsberg, presented by Delaware Opera. I enjoyed both very much. I'm from the NYC area & go to the Metropolitan Opera. I found the production at the Grand not as lavish as the Met, but still very enjoyable & affordable! If you enjoy opera, give Delaware Opera a try.
Went to see the Nutcracker, wonderful show. Intimate venue but seats were wide and comfortable.
A great place to go. Beautiful inside nice people.
Went to a great concert. This venue is awesome for that.
They don't have their own parking so you have to walk to/from a parking garage /lot about a block away. It's also difficult for wheelchair accessibility. The stage is visible from almost every seat and the seating is relatively comfortable.
My sister had her wedding here and not only was the venue Beautiful but the staff were Sooo Helpful!!!!! Everything turned out Amazingly Well!!!
Excellent service in a beautiful theatre!
Great acoutics and not a bad seat in the place. Some pretty decent pubs in the area, too.
Great place to see any type of venue.
Seats were super tiny but otherwise a great place to see a show.
Great venue for a variety of entertainment. Every seat has a good view
My wife and I have been there many times and have always enjoyed the venue. It's small enough to see well from anywhere, the acoustics are very good.
Great music! Very nice venue!
Beautiful venue, great accoustics.
Saw a nice improve show in one of the front rooms! Offers more than big shows
This beautiful venue is a favorite place of mine to view musical artists. It is small with great acoustics. I enjoyed our front row side view that was elevated from the floor. One nearby woman asked if we were in the "Sistine Chapel." The ceiling art is pretty nice. We parked on the street near the library but there are garages in the area.
The performance was phenomenal and the energy in the atmosphere was awesome!
What a great concert. The Weight Band played two great sets, with the encore being (of course) The Weight. Pic of the set list from the first set, used by one of the keyboardists. Love seeing shows at the Baby Grand.
Great place
Great show , great place
The lay out and productions. Offers free parking a few blocks away.
I went to a concert tonight and enjoyed it very much. The theater is beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely.
They have music lessons for kids or adults. 25 for 30 minutes. For some reason, they don't advertise this amazing service. My kids have been going here for years. The teachers are great. Facilities are so nice. Scheduling is easy.
unusual spot. seats are very small and not comfortable if you are a normal sized person. good acoustics and decent parking close by.
Great location and aqesome sound.
Great view of the stage but no legroom for seats.
I live the shows, the artwork, and the architecture.
Joe Biden loves the opera house! George and Kelly
Great historic venue with excellent acoustics. They've really stepped up their booking game, getting larger national acts. Tall/large patrons may find seating a little tight - if possible, purchase seats in the front rows of the sections as they tend to have more legroom. Adult beverages and snacks available at most shows.
Beautiful old building! Not a bad seat in the house
Great time. Great venue
Great, small venue to enjoy music.
A treasure in the heart of Wilmington. Beautiful venue with outstanding entertainment value.
Great performance with S. Story
Nice venue to see a comedian or show.
Not a bad seat in the house
Great small venue, but seats are so small and cramped. A tall person will be in agony for a 2 hour performance.
Awesome venue building for Live Performances.
Came tonight to see "Classic Albums Live" perform the Beatles legendary Abbey Road album. This venue is an intimate, old theater and a great place to see a show. Tickets are reasonably priced, and the lineup is quality. Parking is a pain, but that's downtown...there is a garage two blocks away, which is open until 1:00am.
The venue is very nice.
Fabulous venue to see a show. Great seats throughout the house, nice lineup, friendly staff.
Came on school trip along with many other schools. All very young children. Staff was very friendly through everything. Very beautiful inside. Clean bathrooms. Comfortable seats. #theater #showtime
Not a bad seat in the hall.
Awesome space to have your special event
We saw comedian Lewis Black at this Great venue for rock seated rock concerts and shows. Good pricing. Nearby affordable parking. Fairly comfortable seats. We go 5-6 times each year to this exceptional theater in Wilmington DE.
This is a great place to see a show or concert. There's really not a bad seat in the place, and ticket prices are very reasonable
A wonderful amphitheater
Pat Metheny was great, as always
The acoustic design was amazing. The building has a historical feel, with a top-notch lighting system.
Nice venue with comfortable seating. Parking sucks
Great place, worth the drive from NYC!
Saw Opera Delaware's production of Gianni Schicchi and Buoso's Ghost. It was hilarious, well-sung, brilliantly acted, and the sets left me agape. Wow!! Bravi, tutti!!!
I've been there a few times and it's a great place to catch a show not a bad seat in the house.
Great place to catch a show
Great show, my son loved mr poppers penguins
I went here to see the Pink Floyd Laser experience (I forget the exact name) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a comfortably equipped venue, the ushers were helpful, and parking was within a block. I would recommend this venue if you see an artist playing there that you'd want to see. It is what you'd call an "intimate" venue.
Never nice venue.
Great place to see a show or artist. Not a bad seat in the house.
Beautiful venue! We've seen numerous comedians here, always a nice time.
Good seating most everywhere. Parking is only a block or 2 away. Fin place to go for an eveni g show. Restaurants close by for before or after a show, too
Clean, elegant, friendly, great acoustics
Awesome venue. Favorite place to see Gaelic Storm! Not a bad seat in the house.
Love this place. I go to 6-10 events a year. Lots more to choose from. Always a good night out.
Very nice upscale venue. Great acoustics.
Incredible decor and acoustics! Performance was amazing!
Love The Grand! Something for everyone ... they bring in a smorgasbord of entertaining acts every season. And such a beautiful venue!
Purchased Tickets only
This is a fantastic little gem. I've seen everything from children's plays to big name comedians here. Its gorgeous, yet intimate. Fun for a date or with family. Nestled in Wilmington, there are plenty of places to park in the surrounding area.
Fun place, small venue so most seats have a great view. Covered parking across the street.
Enjoyed each show we've been here for. Comfortable seating. Good view from balcony. Love the low cost for concerts.
A great place for a concert. Great places to est right by.
Nice venue & sound system for seeing bands.
Good sight lines and acoustics but the seating is really cramped
No seat is bad. Chance to see Lucinda William's. Great show! Wonderful story teller! Also a talented singer/songwriter!
Boney James concert
Amazing old theater loved it
It was really nice been there a couple of times Richard Smallwood Kendrick and the family soul both times was really nice
Always a good show
So there's a big sign that says no video taping or taking pictures, but yet there are people in the audience taking pictures and video taping. One man went right up to the stage and took a picture and the performer even commented that she would take a picture with him but yet the ushers did nothing. So While others are adhering to the rules there are others that are breaking them as always in life but I guess it's allowed at the opera house now. And the ushers don't do their job there's people standing and I know the aisle 3 hunter Edition people can't even get through. And guy stands up for the performance of Jumping All Around into the aisle in front of the seat and it's inconsiderate to the people sitting behind him. . The seats are very cramped I don't think we'll be returning.
It's neat
Love this arena. The acoustics are perfect for the bands I have seen there. Not a bad sear in the house.
Great place to catch a show. Beautiful exterior and interior. The get a lot of really good acts. We saw saw Pink Martini there and we really enjoyed ourselves. Because the theater is old the seats can be a bit tight, especially if you are tall. Other than that it's a great place.
It's truly amazing. No matter what show you go to, you'll have a magical night...... even if you're not too crazy about theater.
It is a beautiful location. There are multiple places to eat around it and parking is not difficult to find. The staff and different rooms are wonderful.
Beautiful facility, good programs
Beautiful old opera house in downtown Wilmington. Love seeing artists here. Not a bad seat in the house.
Zack was wonderful !! Even hooked me up for my Birthday
Beautiful place very historic. Not a bad seat in the place.
Great place for a great show. Easy access.
Among the finest venues in the midAtlantic states. We've attended everything from symphony to prog-rock to stand-up comedy shows here. No bad seats, great acoustics, wonderful staff and volunteers. Parking is easy and cheap nearby. If an act is playing here, the Keswick, and the Scottish Rite, see them here.
Southern Fried Comedy with Nephew Tommy was the best birthday gift my boyfriend could've ever given me! I had a ball!
Wonderful performances! I love the seating and how the whole theater is visible from all seats!
Beautiful old building, many great shows. This particular night, we were there in the smaller of the two theaters to see the First State Ballet do their production of "Dracula." Great sets, great performance, great venue.
We'll run theater experience. Personable, knowledgeable staff, great decor, and abundant history of the site if you want to know. Modern renovations, but kept the class if the theater I remember as the Lowe's movie theater from back in the day (50s and 60s).
Travelled down from New Jersey to see Leonid and Friends. They were awsome and we had a great time!
NOTHING bad can I say about the GRAND. Pick a show and go!
Great place to see an opera!, Especially if you are a newbie! try to sit either in the balcony or the Parquet as the sound will be better. No "sound system" but screens on either side of the stage to "read" the words!. I saw Scalia and Ginsberg and had a blast!
Very small seating. I never sit that close with my 25 years married wife. By the way,I am not a so big guy. They should fix the seating. I will not go back again even the show was good.
