Here you will be able to see the information of people who used the services and products of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building And Visitor Contact Station (Tourist Attraction) in the area close to Delaware.
At the moment this firm gets a rating of 4.6 over 5 and this rating was based on 443 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the highest, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the valuation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of Nature preserve.
Great place for birding... Herons fishing are a common site... So are many different waterfowl and shorebirds... Smaller than Bombay hook which isn't too far...
Beautifully full of crabs
Love this place during the shutdown, less people more wildlife. No bathrooms is a bit of an issue so be sure to go before you go lol
Very beautigul, interesting and peaceful place to visit.
I would say beautiful, but there was alot of trucks and equipment parked there.
Clean pleasant and educational
Wildlife is awesome nice relaxing atmosphere everyone should experience.
Absolutely Breathing. Watch a sunrise. It won't disappoint
Lots of walking paths, birds and nature. Friendly staff
Beautiful place, lovely beach.
Had a nice time there ever though I didn't catch anything.
Awesome as always, just wished they let you ride bikes on most of the paths. It's not like the paths are packed with people.
Nature. That's why.
Love it ! Great place to walk and take in the spice of raw nature.
It has its charm. It's smaller than other parks in the state that are like this (and when compared to other refuges in particular) and has a handful of beautiful views, but leaves much to be desired and their trail maps are a bit out of date (i.e. pieces and extensions of a trail on the map that aren't there in the park) If you're in the area, absolutely stop in and take a walk through it... But I wouldn't drive more than an hour solely to experience this location.
You should visit it, walk around and enjoy the quietness.
Great place to hang quiet
Beautiful. Clean. Absolutely picturesque
If you work, or live with lots of people and you want to get away. Why go to Ocean City? Head into the bay and enjoy peace and quiet. Great for young kids who are curious about nature.
Wonderful place. Very peaceful and full of life.
An enjoyable place to visit.
In October saw lots of birds.Love the trails.Pack a lunch and bring binoculars.
Nice quiet little nook of sussex county
Mother Nature at her best. With that in mind, there will be bugs. This is a wildlife area, not suburbia.
Nice trails and abundant wildlife. Bring binoculars if you have them and don't forget your camera!
Wow, great place to commune with nature. Lots of trails, bring your own kayak, and public restrooms.
Inexpensive, clean, friendly staff at boat - kayak launch. Good for a one day adventure. Plenty of picnic tables. Would recommend if on a budget.
Very relaxing area. Lot of flying bugs, but kids love the beach.
The lady at the visitors center was very friendly and informative. She told me about the trails and informed which trails have ticks and mosquitos. I ended up hiking the Dike Trail to see the osprey nest. The trail was graveled and watch your steps because there were some dog poop on the trail. I was going to hike the trail with the boardwalk, but saw the tick warning sign and decided not to since I recent got Lyme disease. The view is amazing and peaceful. The other trails appear to be more woodlands. This refuge is dog friendly. My girls had fun. There is also an auto tour. It doesn't seem to come with audio though.
Love the history and the wildlife... so many beautiful birds. Wish I had more time n a great pair of binoculars!
Overall, great place for sightseeing all kinds of wildlife. Saw a little bit of everything on our trip. If you're into bird watching, blue heron, geese, cardinals, woodpeckers. There are other kinds of animals like beavers and foxes at certain times of the year. Also mexican families who don't speak a lick of english and will gladly walk up to where you are enjoying your peaceful day and talk loudly, fish illegally with their multitude of rods, dump their kids toys all over where you're walking and act completely disrespectful and force you to leave because they feel like they own the place. But so long as you come on a good day, it's a grand ole time.
Awesome and serene
Beautiful park, excellent spot for crabbing and fishing, or just enjoying the outdoors. Good for bird watching- always seems to be a Blue Heron about!
Stopped by the office for hiking and canoe trail maps. Helpful, knowledgeable staff with recommendations. Dog friendly with leash. Beautiful, rugged wetlands and forest.
Nice place bring bug spray
A beautiful quiet place. Great trails informative staff. Bird watching is great.
Lovely place to see birds.
Gorgeous views, I love the fact of preserving the land which we need to keep doing instead of building more... This land belongs to the animals.
Best birding venue in southern DE. Great kayaking and hiking too. Waterfowl and deer hunting in season.
Not too crowded. Good sand, not rocky. Decent shell hunting.
Love the serenity of this place!
Very quiet, except for the wildlife. Flat, short easy walking trails. Overall nice experience. Lots of turtles. The nesting Osprey are a must see. Staff very friendly.
If you're in the area, this is a must see for wildlife viewing! Near the HQ are a few trails and a boat/kayak launch. Go beyond the Visitor's Center and see some of the marshes while you're there. I love the peacefulness and calm of this refuge!
Great place to spend the day exploring nature
Great place to crab or fish IF you know the tides and can handle the hellascious current
PEACE and quietness
A great place for family outings!
Great place for bird watching. Swamp area along Prime Hook Road is a great place to observe multiple different spices. You can do it even without leaving your car. Access is free. Several parking lots are available if you are interested in hiking or running.
Fun place. Very beautiful
Very nice walks in and around a tidal salt marsh, the half-mile boardwalk trail leads out over wetland with a long boardwalk that leads out into the marshland and past a revolutionary period cemetery.
I adore this place!! Absolutely gorgeous views!
Bug attack! Our hike lasted 30 seconds!
It is great this time of year, breezy and few bugs.
Launched a canoe on its maiden voyage on September 6, 2014 under blue skies and a light breeze. The water was barely a foot deep, making paddling a bit of an art as we tried to avoid stirring up the thick dark sludge on the bottom. A vigilant osprey left her nest and circled in wide arcs overhead, warning us (or signaling her mate) to find a new route, which we certainly heeded! Despite the occasional whiff of decay coming from the murky waters, the time together for my sister (Maryland) and me (Seattle) was precious and memorable. A kind soul, Bob, from Newark, gave us a hand securing our canoe after his speed walk with hand weights; what a guy!
Great birding opportunities and views!
Saw a pair of nesting eagles there that took my breath away. Worth the drive to visit any time of year.
Nice visitor center. Lots of mosquitos
Plenty of trails, beautiful landscape, plenty of wildlife, kayak/canoe trail, hunting, fishing and more to do.
Went to get national park pass and people were very helpful
Beautiful place to see.
Had a great time, wasn't aware that the waterways were very shallow, but wasnt a terrible hindrance to the kayak. Got to enjoy peace and quiet with the wife, in nature. What else can you ask for?!
Great place to kayak
Tons of natural trails amd lakes/ponds with long docks. Saw plenty of hunting signs. Great place for the dogs to stretch their legs!
Beautiful well maintained refuge
Love the peacefulness and birds
Natural wildlife to watch all year round. all seasons every thing is out.
Not kept up. Thorny vines taking over the boardwalk, for example. No paid staff there on last day of price promo. Felt sorry for the volunteer having to explain that repeatedly on the phone to callers, let alone to us.
Nice trails and everything, except they seem to not care as much for the trails like they used to.
Walked all around and just Loved this area .
Myriad of lighting moods and winged creatures abounded.
Wonderful place for birdwatching! We had around 60 species. Plus there were Fowler's Toads everywhere. We had blooming Indian Pipes!
Very disappointed hardly any big birds, those that were there were far off. Scenery was very nice, but that was not what I went for. This is my second time there and it will be my last. Bombay Hook is about 15 mins from my house, and it has never disappointed me. If the eagles are scarce, there are always Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets or Snowy Egrets and other birds.
Beautifully kept refuge with driving and walking trails. Informative visitor's center and gift shop. Bring your camera!
Plenty of trails and nice views of the wetlands. Make sure you bring mosquito spray during the warmer months.
It is a wonderful place to take pictures and enjoy nature.
There really isn't anything there. The weeds are all grown up. The mosquitoes are terrible. Basically it is a dirt road with a circular turn around on a swamp. The flies and mosquitoes were insane. Someone had dumped the head and hooves of a wild pig there and flies were swarming everywhere. The brochure makes it look like a whole lot more than it is. Save yourself the trip.
Beautiful, peaceful place.
The drive down was pleasant. The route was well marked. This is a wildlife refuge so you will not find very many amenities. There is a clean portolet in the parking lot. There is parking to accommodate numerous vehicles.
Nice outdoor place to see
Great place to go birding, especially if you love shorebirds.
Nice and peaceful place to go to take some stress off
Great place for nature lovers of every age, any time lof the year
Nature at its best.
Great trails!! Very well done boardwalk that is definitely worth the trip. The visitor center was closed, which was rather disappointing, but the rest of the visit was great. Bring deet.
Crabbing is nice
Go ahead and make it Delaware's National Park already.
Overall, our dining experience was good. We were greeted by a pleasant member of the staff and escorted to our table by a really nice young man. The gentleman who waited on us was pleasant as well. Fortunately we were only a table of 2 so we got right in, and I say fortunately because the place was packed. Items on the menu are not cheap, you're most likely not going to take young children here because of price and I didn't notice anything a child would eat on the menu.
Beautiful. Walking paths. Water. Serene n quiet.
I think this was my favorite place to go out of our trip. Really unique. We saw a ton of wildlife and flowers. They have a nice native plant garden that labels the type of plants.
Great place for observing would like. Great photo opportunities. Also a great place just to get away from it all.
This place ia a gem. Definitely a great place to take the family for an outing. Trails and wildlife is amazing. Be sure to stop by the office. It has wonderful maps, gifts, souvenirs and more.
Great place to take a walk
Beautiful scenic walk, restful.
Nice place to walk along the water. Would have been nice if office or gift shop had been open to get more information.
Well worth a visit.
Nice for a short easy walk, make sure to go to nearby beaches to find Horseshoe crabs (or their remnants).
Beautiful place to view wildlife, take a hike or just relax. Tons to do and see. While here I saw so many bird species and even Bald Eagles, Hawks, Owls and much more. Protect this place as it is truly a national treasure.
Beautiful remote area in Delaware aand broadkill beach is awesome
Beautiful scenery but not much to do
Watch out for the green flies
This place is great, lots of walking trails and a driving tour. The beach on the south side is very nice.
Probably the nicest natural landscape in Delaware. Crabbing, fishing, kayaking, bird watching, canoeing and cycling are all excellent activities here. Be warned, you will need bug spray.
Great fishing and quiet atmosphere
Lovely quiet place, however could use some clear guidance on parking.
Great open marsh, nice for a walk or to look for raptors.
Amazing place!! Don't miss this hidden gem!
I love my wildlife refuges and this one has a visitor center that is open on weekends is A plus in my book. Super relaxing super quiet, nice trails and it's not in the new blue goose stamp book, but they have a stamp.
Very nice nature walk.
Not many places to drive to if you are handicapped and the mosquitoes were herendus.
Very beautiful nature park. Quiet and clean and nice flat trails.
Love this beach. Peaceful and beautiful. Little store that makes home made donuts and great sandwiches. Alittle expensive but u are at the beach!!!
Very nice sereen place for a walk.
I love this place. We saw peace, in the woods. There was no outside noise, just the sound of nature.
Lots of wildlife, especially waterfowl. In the spring the area is covered with snow geese. It can get buggy in the summer with green head flies and mosquitoes. The horseshoe crabs come ashore to lay eggs on the beach in June and if you see on flipped over upside down please just turn right side up. They have no ability to bite one claw you so there is no danger to you but if they have lost their tail they cannot right themselves.
Nice beach. Nice homes to rent.
Good place to fish, didn't catch anything
Beautiful, great for bird watching, gorgeous sunset
Beautifully preserved natural landscape that is home to some amazing species of birds.
Very pretty and boat friendly. Lots of bugs. Bring OFF or come in fall or early spring.
So serene. A great place to take a walk
Quite secluded with beautiful views n nice fishing areas
No wildlife... But the quietest place I have been in a long time... Lovely trail and benches on a walkway over a nice pond. Very peaceful...
Always enjoy visiting this place because of such varied wildlife and their natural habitat. Heard many birds singing and saw great blue herons standing at water's edge.
It was not the best kayaking but if you like to wild life and bird watching it was phenominal.
I will return to hike the trails and to visit Fowler Beach. Mom and I visited the well equipped Ranger Station and got maps and info. This NWR was unknown to me and obviously a well-kept secret gem! We spent a lot of time driving the winding roads and on Route 1 that is the only way to reach the winding beach access roads. Protecting the acres of protected bay dunes and marshlands is obviously an important priority. So expect to park and walk to area close to waterways! The dunes are unharmed and I saw a snowy egret and some turtles and visitors crabbing off a bridge over a stream. I watch, study and maybe photograph Nature and wildlife! Though, this refuge is a resource for permitted hunters of waterfowl in season. I saw info and tags near the eastern entrance. I also noticed a trail head for The National Trail System Florida to Canada. Pack lunch this refuge is purely natural. No pizza or fries!
Beautiful place. Gods country!!! Numerous types of wildlife of all species.
This is a wildlife refuge that 5 other artists and myself visit every year because of it's natural beauty. We rent a place for 2 weeks and go out everyday and paint the lovely vistas and beach and marsh scenes. And it is not too far from activities in Lewes and Milton, Delaware. The sunset cruises up the canals is a real treat, too.
Beautiful place to go
A great place to visit the outdoors for all ages.
My happy place.
Wonderful spot to preserve wildlife.
Beautiful place
Walked on FOWLER beach. It was great. Why don't you come up with a plan that allows people to access all year?
We did the trail along the water from the visitors center. It is about a mile roundtrip. Ery few birds this time year, but did hear peepers for the first time this year.
The visitor center was closed by the time we got there. We wanted to do a walk toward evening. But we were not disappointed in all we did get to see at the refuge. From bright yellow warblers ducks to eagles in flight. Our eyes were filled with delight.
First time visiting and i loved what i saw. My husband and i took our puppy for a walk there today and we definitely be back when the kids are home. Cant wait to check out the other trails.
We walked the boardwalk path and the other lookout path (which is a little longer and joins with the boardwalk) with a toddler in an umbrella stroller. These paths were very well maintained, but it probably wouldn't be the best idea in muddy weather. The lady at the visitor center was extremely kind and pulled out all sorts of things for our little guy to look at. That said, even with the (very lovely) walks, we were only there a little more than an hour, and older kids would probably be bored, as they don't have very new or unusual displays. If you're looking for nature walks, it is a great choice though.
Great place to enjoy the outdoors
Very nice walk. I love it!
Calm and beautiful area
Birding was fantastic. Saw two bald eagles. Also went kayaking in turkle pond and at the visiting center. Kayaking was ok. The canoe trail was difficult to follow and we bottomed out a lot. We couldn't access the channels of turkle pond due to vegetation overgrowth. Kayaking did allow closer access to wildlife.
This is a bird's paradise.
Going to Prime Hook is always a wonderful experience. It's free and there are plenty of trails to walk along the water. Depending on the time of year, you can see many birds like Osprey, Geese, Eagles, Herons, Ducks, Pelicans etc. It's very quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful place to walk around and then visit the beach!
Quiet lovely beach enjoyed my walk on the beach.
had a nice walk saw white tail deer eagles black ducks pintails wood ducks fox and alot of snow geese this place is awesome
It is an absolute beautiful place. I live here and my favorite this is being so close to the water. There are alot of people who fish and walk there dogs. It is super quiet and a beautiful place to live.
