This was a big park with a little parking lot if you drive here. Rest rooms were not open while we're here. This was a good stop to walk the dog, stretch out legs, go to the play ground or just decompress after driving a large truck through those tiny historic streets of new Castle. Sit up on the hill and over look the Potomac. Or maybe go fishing. Give this review a thumbs up if you read this and enjoy the park. #AdventureKrewe

Nice open space. Walking trail. Small sandy beach area (no swimming, crabbing or fishing allowed). Picnic tables and a restroom facility on site. Swings, sliding boards. Parking can present a problem. It's a historical, small but quaint tiwn.

Was so quaint, was like The town of New Castle came alive in the evening to walk and or drive in to enjoy the beautiful evening before dusk. Harked back to calmer days of old, when people just enjoyed each other, talking, taking a walk, frisbee, soccer in the field, or hopes of catching the sunset as sailboats made their way back in before dark. I thoroughly enjoyed this unexpected jewel.

My favorite park to walk, run, or bike. Great scenery, from ocean going ships on the Delaware side, & all sorts of wildlife & birds on the marsh side. Great place for a picinic, & people watching. From Seperation day festivities, to live music once a week in summer, always a fun time. Several tall ships visit the new pier & dock each year.

The walking trail is very large with benches along the path and seating areas around the park. The trail is very scenic with great views of the river and the trail is wide enough for about 4 people shoulder to shoulder.

I travel through Delaware all the time and somehow never heard of this place. This is a pleasant little park to visit in a well maintained historic town. There was a antique show going on when i went. There are a few little shops and cafes to visit nearby. Very scenic and right off the highway.

Beautiful park with walkway along the river. Unfortunately, no public restrooms. You need to go back in town to the welcome center to use public facilities located there. Short walk to restaurants in a lovely town with colonial past.

So great! It's a lovely place for a family outing whether it be a picnic or bike rides. The other people are quite friendly. There's a playground and a tiny beach, you cannot swim in the water though.

A very nice park at the end of Old Historic New Castle. There's a 3.75 mile run (out and back) along the water front that runs through a slight wooded section and along beach front. Some bugs at dusk, but not too bad. Some birbs can be watched from here as well. Great for sunrises!

A picture perfect spring morning made for an enjoyable 2.5 mile stroll along the Delaware. As time passed, there were quite a few other walkers and bicyclists, but everyone was polite and courteous!

A beautiful but short trail along the Delaware river, Battery Park is an easy walk, with a little bit of history mixed in. There are 2 cute little beaches, that are even sandy at the top, but swimming or even wading is forbidden. For PoGo players, there are a lot of pokestops with a short walking distance.

Loved walking the trail in the early morning hours. Friendly people all doing their thing out here walking, running, bike riding, skating. Sea breeze was a nice bonus just watch out for the geese poop.

What a beautiful place. Well maintained. I was looking at a house to buy that was maybe 50 feet from the park. I would have bought the house but it was out of my price range. I really wanted the house because of Battery Park.

Battery Park and the surrounding area of historic Old New Castle truly takes you to Colonial America! Miles of walking paths and a newly constructed pier jutting out into the water offers great views. It features lots of greenery, fields for a picnic and game of catch with the kids, & a playground—an overall serene atmosphere and nice place for exercising, relaxing, or a fun family day! A beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset. The adjoining town of Old New Castle features cobblestone streets, stately historic homes (reminiscent of Society Hill/Historic Philadelphia), hidden alleyways (one with a replica cannon!), & some cute dining options and stores. An excellent choice for family pictures with the water/pier, historic buildings, old-time doorways, brick walls, and open space.

It's great place for take a long walk, chill in park, have a talk with your partner or family or just sit alone with your preferred way to relax. There's nice long walkway. There are many ducks. Wind is great, great view of sunset and river with waves. Many tables and benches to sit. The surrounding area is historical area of New Castle County. And it is a first place where William Penn first arived. He is a person who founded Wilmington and Pennsylvania. Many historic buildings and landmarks can be found here. So ultimately it is a great way learn about some history and relax on river bank.

The park is part of a historic town on the banks of the Delaware River. It is free. There are places to sit and watch the huge ships going and coming in addition to pleasure boats. We attended the New Castle Antique Show and found 5 items for our collection. Put it on your calender for next year.

This park was definitely more fun than I expected! It has a cute little beach area, a long walking path and is immediately adjacent to a historic downtown area. Did not seem too crowded. There aren't many lunch options in the area.

This is a gem of a park in the middle of the financial district. It has play areas for big kids and toddlers, including 2 swings and a see-saw. It's surrounded by a lovely grass area and is fenced in so the kids are safe to run around and not risk getting into the heavy traffic of The Embarcadero nearby. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting or shopping in the area with antsy kids who need a break to play safely in an otherwise crowded part of SF

There is a walking trail around the river. There is also a small boardwalk. Water quality of river is not that great. You can sit near river and watch sun set. Another good thing is you can see nearby old french style nicely decorated houses. Good place to spend an evening.

I love the breeze off of the water. It's to bad that Delaware has allowed the chemical factories etc to drain their pollutants into the water. Sometimes, I wonder how many five eyed fish are swimming in that trashed filled water. The walking paths in Old New Castle are a nice walk except for observing every two steps garbage that has drifted into the rocks during low tide. Within my 1 mile walk alone I observed the following: Two hard hats ( I imagined all kinds of frightful events that may have happend to these men), a babydoll that had a missing eye, five bottles of shapes and sizes (it was hard to tell if any had a message inside but, I am pretty sure the gallon milk jug was empty), a football, a baseball, a storage tub (again, I had weird thoughts about this tub), several garbage bags, a Coleman cooler, and tons of shoes and shoe inserts. If they could just clean up the water this walk would be five stars.
