Last night was my first time going to Mt. Cuba Observatory and I wish I had gone sooner! My girlfriend Katie and I loved everything from start to finish of my experience there!! Prof. Stan Owocki gave a great presentation of topic “ Colliding Galaxies”. What I loved and appreciated from him was his passion on the subject and his enthusiasm for wanting to share all of his information with everyone. Katie and I had a chance to talk to him after the presentation which we both throughly enjoyed!! Also would like to say thank you to Greg, who hosted the second part of the presentation and guided everyone with setting up and looking through telescope and showing us different parts of the night sky and where everything was located and his vast knowledge of Astronomy. Honestly, after going there and talking with both Greg and Stan, it makes you really want to open your Astronomy books back up and learn everything you can and all of the things you forgot. I left there feeling inspired! And I want to say thank you to both Greg and Stan for that!

My family and I went to Mt. Cuba Observatory last night to view a memorial star and had a wonderful experience. The staff is very passionate and knowledgable about astronomy. We learned about finding the star, explored the planetarium, and finally saw our star through the telescope. Mr. Weaver also took the time to show us and teach us about a nebula, a double star, and a few more interesting astronomical sights. Thanks for a great evening!

MCAO is open at random hours all year. Most summer evenings there are classes being conducted. A new project to expand the facilities is currently underway with the addition of two new telescope domes.

Juan Martinez

The workers were very nice and taught my group about new and interesting things about astronomy and the tour we got was very good.

Nice place to visit in very close about a mile away from me

Not what I expected. Attended a public night. Presentation was very informal, presenter seemed to meander and repeat a lot of things. Then we went into planetarium which was interesting but uncomfortable to look straight up for so long in chairs that didn't help you recline to get a view. And again, didn't seem to have a plan of what they showed us. Very out of the way location. It was scary driving home in such an isolated area. I was alone so that was probably a mistake. Be prepared for a very low key unstructured session and you might feel better than I did.

Gerald Weaver

Wonderful planetarium shows, nice views of celestial objects through their telescopes.
