Great place to relax!

Beach access was very difficult with high sand dunes and a very steep Hill to climb down and back up also the $10 fee for out-of-state parking was a bit much seeing's how my wife and I were only there for one hour to watch the sunset and there was no discounted pricing would not recommend going there

Todd Cox

Beach was nice good for surfing.

Nice beach. If you’re looking for coins, come after a Nor’easter blows through. Google the wreck of the Faithful Seward which was lost just off the coast and laden with coins. It was so named because after a storm blew through, soldiers assigned to the lookout towers would come down with a bucket and pick up the coins that washed ashore.

Scott Shilling

Go often. Love it here!

No coins found, but it is a nice location. More crowded than some of the other beaches and lots of surfers out in tbe water, but that added to the charm.

Great view of the bridge and great swimming. You can catch waves, fish, crabs, or just soak up the sun here! Great little wash shower right on the walkway and you can chill out under the bridge to get some shade!

Amy Dickman

Tide pools & rocks to search. Decent shells. Not very crowded although can become so later in the day when the surfers come out.

Great area if you like collecting shells, other than that it's a "trashy"area if you want to find any type of coins.

Michael Fargo

I give this 5 stars because it's a Hidden Gem. We walked 1 mile of Beach and probably saw 10 to 12 people that day. It is $10 to park your car. Keep in mind this beach is not a tourist area so it is not manicured daily like Ocean City by the boardwalk. If you're looking to enjoy the beach in its natural state without tons of people... This is your place. We will definitely look forward to stopping here next time.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers and State DNREC jointly operate a sand bypassing system which pumps sand from the south side to the north side of Indian River Inlet. This system extracts sand from the beach or near shore intertidal zone on the south side of the inlet and deposits the sand on the beach on the north side of the inlet

Nice little beach, we stay at the campground and walk right over.

Great public beach. Clean and beautiful. $10 entry for non residents. No lifeguards or garbage pails so bring your own bag to leave with your garbage. Located next to camp site. A bit of a walk from parking lot to beach area.Public restrooms and Port o John's on site. Public restrooms were dirty at north side beach. That was the only negative.

Nice beach lots of fishing right next to people swimming. Found no coins

Jason Haas

We were here for labor day weekend. It was amazing the difference in the waves just by going to the other side of the inlet. This beach has awesome waves that were easily topping 10 foot in some cases. We noticed this is where all the surfers hang out because of the big waves. We had a great time, but took a beating administered by the ocean. This beach was also way less crowded then all the other beaches we visited.

Though I know this changes with the tides, when we were there, the ocean bottom was very uneven. Some of the older members of our family had trouble walking out. Also, the sandy slope leading down to the beach was in very bad shape. Wooden stairs should be installed. Or, at the very least, a pole at the top with a rope to pull yourself up with.
