My first trip bringing my girls (8 and 10) was a lot of fun. There was plenty to do to keep us occupied for about 5 hours (including lunch). The climbing tower was a big hit. Be aware, you need footwear in the splash pad. It was pricey (just over $100 for my family of 4), but it was worthwhile. The cafe in the main gift shop (Cobalt Cafe) was great too. The food was good quality and not overly expensive. The girls' kid's meals for $7 included entree, drink, applesauce, a cookie, and a toy. Very impressive overall.
This is amazing place for children to enjoy seeing dinosaurs life size. My family and I had a wonderful time and looking foward to visit again this summer !!!!!! P.S. the ice is delicious.
Well kept grounds, nice clean clear exhibits. Plenty to do for kids between splash pad, playground, dinosaurs amd maze. Only thing we felt was underwhelming was the volcano. Other than that had a great time.
Good trails for little ones... several playgrounds within the park and nicely laid out. Fun for the family.
We enjoyed.... It was worth th ride n money... WATER PARK MASS....N MORE VIDEOS...PIC... AWE~SUM
For the money the mystic aquarium was much better. 98.00 for the 4 of us and the park was the highlight. The trails are well kept and dinasour were okay but everything is extra, mining for gems and gold was extra and kids would have enjoyed. Mini golf looked pretty nice but drive an hour and a half for golf! Save your money
The mini golf was expensive at 12 bucks each, but it was a unique course, themed with geology. Rocks, gems, snake, bear, wolves and even an outhouse
A great place to bring your little dinosaur fans.
Great for kids and family's. A little pricey but has a water park area
Good place to have fun with the kids...
If you're going to advertise hours that you are open, you should be open for those hours. We arrived at 5:15 and the lobby was closed yet they advertise they are open till 6pm. If I wanted to spend $60 to get in and walk around for only 5 minutes that's my choice. They shouldn't lock their doors earlier than they're hours of operation say just because "it would only leave you with an hour left in the park". Again that's my choice not yours. My daughter was very excited about this and we traveled about 40 minutes just to be told they closed the lobby 15 minutes prior to our getting there. Now I have a very upset child and will probably not be coming back for a second try as they obviously don't want the business.
This place is great, though it is a little expensive. We don't live in the area, so we come every 1-2 years when we're visiting family. Admission is $25 per person (military discount available). There's a lot to do inside the park. There are playgrounds and an enclosed net tower with slides (socks required). There's also a very large splashpad, though I find it strange that they required shoes or socks in there. We ended up buying socks, since we normally go barefoot at splashpads and were unprepared. The two younger kids in our group love dinosaurs, so we went to the fossil dig ($12 each) and they got a small box of fossils when they were done. The oldest went to play mini golf, and we all grabbed ice cream before going back in to walk around the trails. There's a fun maze for the kids, and tons of dinosaur statues throughout the woods. Our two girls really love dinosaurs, so we didn't get out of the gift shop cheaply, but we are now the proud owners of fossilized dinosaur poop. If your kids like dinosaurs, I'd definitely recommend this place. Come early so you can spend a lot of time slowly wandering. And bring socks and a towel for the splash pad.
This place was great. If the place wasn't so pricey i would be here more often. The walk around the park to see life size dinosaurs was great! There was tons of dinosaurs. There splash zone did look small. The Adventure area and playgrounds were great for kids to blow off some steam after walking and reading all the facts. It was nice and cool with all the trees around. I totally recommend if you are a Dinosaur Lover!!! My Toddlers enjoyed looking and playing just as much as i did!
Not as exciting as advertise. Not worth the price to get in. Seems expensive for a walk on a trail and a play ground, also not many dinosaurs.
If I could give it zero stars I would. Charged me a different price then my best friend who was right behind me, made us buy socks just to then say that bounce place was closed, lied about hours of operation and activities that could be done. Had a very angry 3 year old and drove over an hr for nothing.
Great for children who, like my son, are really into dinosaurs. Fanatics exhibits -monsterous statues of dinosaurs peppered along a nature trail- and play areas for children, including a splash-pad. It's a nice day trip for locals.
Water park. Nature walks. Food. And fun.
Cant wait to go and play at the outside activitys!!! Super excited to bring my son and family with me soon!!
Wonderful place for spring and early summer! The dinosaur walk, moon bounce, playground, maze, and splash pad were all awesome. The prices were reasonable and worth it!
Excellent park, fantastic for kids and families. My nephew's son was extremely happy with the park and couldn't stop talking about. A really great place to visit.
great place for dino loving kids and it has a play ground and cool down area
Nice family activity.
My granddaughter had a field trip with her nursery school she is 4. .so I stayed.. rather than drive home and back in 2 1/2 hours. .I decided to walk around in the park so I paid 20 dollars to get in and they charged me 20 dollars for my 2 year old grandson ,just turned 2..who wanted nothing to do with the play area slides or nets ect. Wasn't really interested in the dinosaurs. ..after an hour he fell asleep ,which is what 2 year olds do.. for an hour and that left little time for me to share the park with him . .not worth the money for a 2 year old....trip was total bust
Fun day but a bit overpriced. Had to pay seperately for each activity which felt a little excessive. Water park is worth it. Changing area and bathrooms available. Dinasour walk is cool. Kids loved it though.
Kids and adults will enjoy it. Loved the new exhibits
This place is great little stop! Something for everyone. Take a walk through the dino park, splash pad on a hot day. They've got great ice cream, shops and mini-golf.
Nice place for kids, lots to do, very clean
Great place to take the kids, get ice cream, check out the museum's and activities, volcano goes off once per hour around the the x:15 minute mark. Dinosaurs galore , a maze , and a good sized splash pad with a snack bar.
Love their splash pad my kids have do much fun everytime we go
My grandchildren's love this place
This place is amazing, so many things to do, so much to discover and learn!
Awesome trail and dinosaur stuff. If your child likes dinos, or even if you do, this is a must!
This place was so much fun. The trails were about 1.5 miles of walking. My kids loved stopping to view the dinasours while we walked the trails. A great way to get outside and get some exercise! My son loved the erupting volcano, while my daughters favorite part was the maze. The maze took us about 10 minutes to do. We got lost the first time but if you walk up the stairs near the entrance you can get a good overview of the maze to help you out. I love that they had a splash pad there, as well. The park area is pretty good as well. Lots of fun playground equipment for younger and older kids. My only problem was when we went to eat lunch. At 1pm they only had one person working the Monty's Munchies food area. She was backed up with 7 orders ahead of us and about 5 behind our order. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food. They didn't send her any help until about a half hour of waiting.
My son loved every minute here at this park, we had a blast and will be going back very soon.
I brought my family down to play mini golf here and we were told that my 5 year old who is 2 months shy of turning 6 could not play because she was not 6 yet. This of course made my daughter cry and the staff member ducked down and hid behind the counter. I decided to go inside and complain about the staff members behavior and was told by the person inside that a manager was not available, but that I could have a lollipop if it would make me feel better. Fortunately for the staff member, all I could do is laugh at her level of incompetence and audacity.
Great place to stop on the way to Maine.
We had a great time! There was plenty to do and see for all ages.
Great place for kids, couples or dinosaur fanatics. Pokemon go stops everywhere and a great walking loop. High price for entry, but worth it. Water pad was great, good play ground.
Loved how the splash park accommodates the toddlers when my child turns 5 I will definitely be going back so she can enjoy it a little bit more but overall experience was a good one
Great place for kids, great outdoors water park, do recommend to bring snacks .
Awesome place. Great for smaller kids.
Awesome. This was our 3 trip. 2nd in 3 weeks. Food a bit pricey but bring your own. The maze is my favorite part. Seeing the kids from above getting lose is fun.
Very expensive but we had a nice time. Park is clean. Some signs were missing.
Beautiful setting with dinosaurs, shops, and museums
Actually I've never seen the attraction, I love the gift shop with its rocks and beads and stuff.
Adventurous and the little one was amazed by the volcano it doesn't take much to bring a smile to a child.
It’s ok for kids under 7-8 years old otherwise not so much fun.
Overpriced, we could have gone to a town park for the same attractions, the trails are not regular stroller friendly. They closed the one part of the playground area our kids were really enjoying at lunch for a lunch break. You cant close during hours if we've paid for use! Not enough here to make the trip or pay the entry fee. The facilities were clean and staff were nice.
Very well thought out. Lots of fun for the kids!
Great place for younger kids. Our 8, 7 and 5 year olds loved it.
clean, great statues of dinosaurs with museum quality information. playground and splash pad were too notch.
Unique place. Spent a good 4 hours here. Kids loved it.
It was a nice walk. First time going there.
In the last month we have taken the grandchildren to the park twice. While the park itself is lovely, I feel the need to comment on the treatment of the staff. On our first visit of the summer, we were waited upon by a young lady who had a nose piercing. I'm retired and have a nose piercing myself so this is something I notice. The piercing was lovely, not at all distracting or "gross". When coming back through to go to the car and then get ice cream, the same young lady now had the piercing covered by a very obvious bandage. The customer ahead of us in line, a gentleman with young children, asked if she was made to cover it up and the staff member replied that yes she was in fact made to cover it. The gentleman said it was ridiculous and I agree! Fast forward to yesterday when we returned to the park with the grands for a second visit. I notice the same young lady, this time working the water part feature, wearing an obtrusive bandaid across the side of the nose. We later exit the park, get ice cream, and are served by a different young lady who has a nose piercing that is evident. No bandaid, no cover. I asked if the staff is allowed to have piercings to which she replies "I am." I find it quite interesting that this park is staffed with a number of teens, male and female, yet the rules do not apply across the board. My husband thinks I may be taking this too far but I felt the need to address this point of willy-nilly rules. We are business owners ourselves and had we ever thought to make allowances for one employee while disregarding the rights of another I'm sure we would have been sued! This is why businesses have employee handbooks.
My son loves this place It is huge so take you hiking shoes There is a nice play ground, a bouncy house and a small water play area There also a very nice gift store.. check out the mining for minerals experience at the store (extra payment) Overall a five star experience
Extremely overpriced for what is offered. Essentially a $25/person(no children's pricing, only under 2) nature walk....dinosaurs were cool, but $80+ to take a 4 year old through felt extreme. As with most tourist traps, focus was on gift shop and overpriced junk food. Wouldn't return.
We got caught in the rain. But it was still a blast!
An amazing experience with my family. We enjoyed the hike and maze. The many dinosaurs were incredible
Special needs Moms. Not special needs friendly! Do not take a handicapped child in a stroller there. They are not wheelchair accessible!
Great place for the kids, the maze was so much fun, splash pad was fun also but the water smelled a little funky. Playground gets 5 stars. Maze gets 5 stars, the dinosaurs get 3.5 stars, some of them didn’t have information and I would have really liked to know what was the name of all the dinosaurs for my son.
Lots of things to do here, you can spend all day here if you have the money. So many different attractions not to mention the full blown toy store. The parking is free
Due to the lack of staff i am giving the splash area a one star for not looking after children in the area and am happy to send pictures of my daugters face if needed as she was pushed to the ground whilst going up the stairs to the slide the injurys sumbstained may result in a massive scar down one side of her face
Fun place to bring the kids, well kept paths to walk on and see the dinosaurs. Saw plenty of families with strollers and wagons managing the paths without a problem. The paths offer a lot of shade for most part of the trail. The kids had the most fun in the playground and the maze. The playground had so much to offer and the kids could of spent all day just doing that. Word of advice you need to have socks on to go into the tower and also water shoes or sandals to go into the splash pad. You can’t go into the splash pad area without some sort of footwear. If you forget they do sell socks and water sandals in the gift shop. The splash pad seems good for younger kids for the older ones it’s a nice way to cool off. The volcano erupts at the hour starting from 11, you can watch it from either side of the lake, but if you miss it you’re not missing much, it’s some smoke and a spray of water, which wasn’t even red. All the kids kept waiting and asking their parents, ‘where’s the lava?”. Sorry no lava. Food prices weren’t too bad, reasonable but you can also bring your own food.
Great family fun for the summer. Clean, well maintained and the staff are on point with making sure everyone is having fun and being safe. The splash pad is fantastic and the playgrounds are diverse and fun. Not to mention the bug free hike to see well painted dinosaur statues. Even when it is crowded its not too busy. A little expensive, at 30 per person 2+ in peak season, but if that doesnt bother you, your in for a treat.
The kids will have fun, but for the money go to Mystic Aquarium and see the dinosaurs there and feel like you're contributing to education and conservation efforts. Better yet, go to Dinosaur State Park or the Yale Peabody Natural History Museum. I'm sure some will love it, but as we were in the area a short time, I think our time and dollars were better spent elsewhere.
Wasn't as I thought it would be paid too much for a playground and some Dino's
It's an awesome place for children who love dinosaurs. It has a nice trail to walk, a big playground and a nice water park to cool off
Good fun little trail with life size dinosaurs throughout. Good splash pad and playground. Personally, I think it's good to go only once unless you get a lot out of the splash pad and playground.
A lot of money for a simple process. The service was dry.
So much fun! Great time there with the family!
The Dinosaur Place has a great little rock and fossil museum, a large and eclectic gift shop, and an amazing walking path surrounded by life sized dinosaur sculptures. There are areas to grab food, and safe areas where you can feel comfortable letting your children free to explore. A Splash Pad, long Walking Trails, and a Maze are a few of the options that allow for a day long excursion at The Dinosaur Place.
We brought the kids last year ages 3 & 4 ~the absolutely loved it & can not wait to go again this year! The water park was a nice but there is plenty to do if it is not a hot enough day.
Admission was overpriced for adults since there's not much for us to do.....but gift shop was reasonable at least....nice place though. Kids had a blast!
Good for kids under ten years old, about twenty minutes walk and a save place for the kids to splash around and get wet
The kids live the water park and concession area. Mini golf us fun too.
This is a fun place to bring the kids and let them run free on an adventure through time. The splash pad is wonderful on a hot summer day, but be forewarned you must bring foot wear that can get wet. You are not allowed to be in the splash pad barefoot. Conversely if you want to go into the play pen you must have socks! They have water shoes and socks for sale on sight but a little preparedness can you a few bucks. Enjoy the park!
Second time taking camp there. Clean and organized. The staff is great and the kids have a blast! Make sure you bring water shoes though. Kids that didn’t have any weren’t allowed to go barefoot and had to miss out :(
Great place to learn about your rocks and If your looking to give the electronics ( iPad, video games) a breack perfect place to bring the kids
We loved this place so much! Amazing splash pad, food for sale and coolers are welcome. The only issue (which is to be expected) is the playground equipment can get extremely hot on an August day. I was surprised that they had slides that weren’t plastic
A lovely place for children. Safe and well laid out exhibits. The children particularly enjoyed the splash pad as it was a very hot day.
My childhood. Period. Pricy though
This place has some beautiful exhibits, but we caught them during renovation and about one third of the attractions were off limits (or limited to the weekends). My granddaughter loved it - be prepared for a lot of walking!
Great walk, fun playground, a really neat place tucked away in Connecticut. Terrific for kids.
The kids have liked this place growing up. They keep adding new things over the years. To gold digging,to outside seeing the dinosaurs, the water park, new mini golf etc. This place is an all day place, but definitely bring a small fortune. Your kids will want to do it all and that costs money. Hard for a large family unless you rich. I usually take one kid at a time so they can be spoiled. The workers only seem to know what's going on in there location. Not versed on other locations. They want you to go to for example the antique building if you want info about that building. I think if you working there you should get a 411 on all work locations. Make it easier for the person who just spent a mint to be here. They do have a store and I've bought many gifts there. Who doesn't like dinosaurs.
My grandkids celebrated their memorial day at this Park ages 4&5
It was really fun I went digging and found quite a bit of gems
Such a cute place to bring your kids a d they have a picnic area.
It was nice but unfortunately not everything was open. My granddaughter still seemed to have a good time.
The park and trail where awesome. Dinosaurs had good detail. Splash park and restroom were clean and maintained. Gift shop was so BOSS!! Great place to have parent / child interaction:-)
Lots to do here. Playgrounds for all ages and plenty of hidden dinosaurs to discover. My kids love the maze and the splash pad is an added bonus when the weather is hot! We left MA to enjoy this dino place and we'll be back.
We met up with some extended family to explore this place right in our backyard. What a fun time! There were two main trails, dinosaurs the kids could touch, plaques with educational information, and plenty of fun things like a jungle gym, large playscape and an awesome splash pad just right for cooling off in. Changing rooms, two locations for restrooms, two areas to picnic. Even the grown ups played in the water
Fantastic summer day adventure. Great splash pad, huge multi floor outdoor playscape (bring socks! Otherwise you have to buy them there), outdoor maze, huge dinosaur replicas throughout a pond walk through nature. They have a snack bar with basic (but perfectly fine) food and drinks but I'm almost certain you can bring your own picnic. My only complaint is the price can add up rather quickly with larger groups so make sure you spend as much time there doing everything to get your money's worth.
We had my daughters 6th birthday here 300$ for a hour and 45 minutes. We got 20 minutes of talking about dinosaurs 15 minutes of digging rocks some b grade pizza and about 1 drink each. And the pepperoni pizza had about 2 pieces of pepperoni... sad.
Great place to bring the kids. Not everything was open during off season times but we still had fun on the trails. Our guy is too young but plenty of other activities to do here besides the Dinosaurs. Not sure about another review saying it's not stroller friendly. We have a pretty basic stroller and I had no problem on the gravel, even with hills. Just gotta push ! Well be back when our son is older for sure.
Fun for young kids must have socks and water shoes
This is great! While it seems expensive, there is a ton for the little ones to do. The dinosaurs are great, too. We saw the dinosaur exhibit at Mystic Aquarium, and this was by far much better. The playground looks great, but is geared towards older children (at least 4 or 5 years). The paths are amazing with all the hidden dinosaurs, and the splash pad is a great way to cool off. Great deal for the pricing!
I took a day and drove down here with my family. My son loves dinosaurs so it seemed like a reasonable option. Overall I really liked the place, lots of nice trials with “realistic” dinosaur sculptures. It has a good variety of activities between the really nice playground equipment, walking trails, maze and mini water park area. A few negatives that sort of struck a chord though are the men’s room by the water area does not have a changing area?? Only the women’s.. There is immediately something wrong with that picture.. I went to change my Son into his bathing suit only to find one, kind of dirty, toilet stall to get any sort of privacy. Like come on. This isn’t 20’s, men need to have the same amenities for children as women. And the water park requires footwear.. I get the safety thing (kind of) but I drove 3 hours and only had shoes. It wasn’t really clear upon entering of this requirement to have special footwear. They do offer special socks at a cost.. I just found this kind of annoying and it prevented us from enjoying this section as a family as 3 out of the 4 of us didn’t have the proper stuff.
I recently had my wedding here and it was amazing! I had my ceremony at copper creek and my reception at the steem engine exhibit. The staff was cooperative and helpful. When you have a wedding here the staff enjoy it as much as you do and they are always open minded.
Loves this place as a kid. We would always stop by befor the beach. Which it wasn't so pricey.
We shop there for my wife's business to get beads for her clay baby dragons and they have a great selection
Great place for a family or a couple looking for a nice date.
The place is awesome, Ice cream is delicious, the food is good, the water place is nice. The reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because we have a 11 months old baby and we really needed a high chair to feed him but.......they didn't have any......it's not super expensive because it's a beautiful place but for the amount they charge you would think that you will have access to a high chair to feed your baby, since this is a kids place. IDK it was difficult for us as parents because we have more older kids too. Please get high chairs, we will keep coming and also it will help other parents with babies.
Fun place for the kids. Nice and shady for the parents. It was a fun day
Excellent place for families to learn lots about the dinosaurs and the existence of them in Connecticut.
If you've got a dinosaur lover this is the place to go this summer!!
Lots of fun, but overpriced. It's basically just a walk thru the woods with dinosaurs. I feel that $70 for three people is a lot. Upside, it's very clean, well later out and plenty to do...for an extra cost
Must see attraction if your kids love dinosaurs. There were tons of dinosaurs incredibly painted, spaced out around the woods and well kept grounds, lake and stream. Lots of walking involved. Bring bathings suits for the huge splash pad. Bring socks for jumpy house. I will definately be back. They also had a military appreciation day were i got in free being a Vet. Thank you nature art village!
Great time my grandchildren loved it
Had a blast with my wife and kids and friends.
Awesome place. Mini golf was phenomenal. No bargain but a real great well managed course. Store was a real treat. Highly recommend!
The price is outrageous for what is actually there. For my 1 year old, 3 year, husband and myself it was over $100!!! My oldest was the most excited for the playscape and he got to play on it for 10 minutes before it had o close down, for someone to go to lunch and no replacement was there! So all the parents were forced to drag their screaming children out, not ok! The maze were lacking in anything interesting and the dinosaurs were meh with a lot of the information tags missing. The splash pad was ok but not anything to rage about and we all felt pretty gross and dirty after playing there. Overall the worst experience of our whole vacation and the one place my kids were the most excited for so overall highly disappointing
So fun for littles!! Splash pad is great and the life size dinosaurs are pretty cool!
The kids loved it the peak season pricing is a little crazy but the park is beautiful.
Great place to spend.the afternoon. Bring socks and a bathing suit with water shoes
Cool store. Beautiful gemstones and jewelry. Attentive staff.
I hear you are not special needs friendly and refused to allow a mom with a Down’s syndrome child in so we will not be attending. The mom needed to bring a stroller to accommodate her child and was denied.
Fun place to bring children. Nice stores.
First time visiting. Great for family fun. Clean and safe. Will visit again this summer and check out the splash pad! Ice cream Was delicious as well!
Great place for dino vewing
It's a little pricey, but my kids always have a blast, AND they sleep like they've never slept before that night
A great day out with the little cavemen. Lots to do and tons to see. A great long trek and lots of playground options give kids a lot of energy dumping, soon to be nap time fun. Five star amusement but 3 star pricing. 4 and a quarter stars, charging an adult feels criminal and cheap
Well kept park. Very large playground and splash pad. Kids had a great time. But as a parent I wish the dinosaurs were more consistently labeled and the prices were more affordable. Children and adult rates shouldn’t be the same. If anything change the adults less cause I’m not climbing up that playscape.
This place is a great place for kids my grandson & nephew had a blast & can't wait to go again
We had to pay full price when more than half of the park was closed and then the other half well I didn't really see where all the dinosaurs were,. They were barely any around. Very few hidden in the woods but nothing exciting. Dont waste your money. Too expensive for just a jumping play area and a splash padded area. You can get those type of places for free somewhere else.
Mini golf is challenging but like EVERYTHING waaaay over priced!!!!! $53 for a family of 4 to play mini golf is insane!
I am a not at all a big fan of Dinosaurs. But I must say this place is so amazing. Open wide place to have fun especially kids get to play in the play area as well as there splash pad fun in summer, and it's so cool to play with water. Coming back to Dinosaurs, there are more than 40 different species live size Dinosaurs and they are so huge. I love to take pictures and I found this place amazing to take pictures.
Graet place to take your kids
Love this place. Go back every year.
