You have the reviews of real people who purchase the services and products of New England Air Museum (Tourist Attraction) in the area close to Connecticut.
At this moment the firm receives a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and the rating has been based on 812 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is virtually the highest, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of History museum.
Fantastic hidden gem! Large local air museum, with great displays of both military and commercial aircraft. Helpful and knowledgeable guides.
An excellent and interesting exhibit of some of early and war time aircraft. A tribute to the history of the makers and pilots/crews that manned these aircraft.
Great experience. Went on Veterans day. My 5 yr old loves airplanes My wife is a veteran and we took him as a gift for his birthday. We met WW2 vets and learned so much and had a blast even my 2 yr old learned and loved it. Great place. Bonus planes landing and taking of from CT airport. Very Cool!
We recently took a group of people here for an afternoon. What an amazing time we had! The airplanes were spectacular and there was such a wealth of information to be had. We had a few WWII veterans with us, wives of veterans, sons and veterans, a more recent veteran, and others who all had a blast reminiscing about what once was. Great Musuem! Worth at least an entire afternoon.
The quality of their collection is unbelievable - the aircraft they have, and the sheer number they have, puts it among rarified company. Where it falls far behind other aircraft museums is how everything is presented. It seems haphazard, thrown together, and it feels luke exactly what it is: a bunch of aircraft parked in hangars instead of a hangar creatively shaped into a museum. I have no doubt that it can and will be a leading aircraft museum in the US, but maybe it needs a shot in the arm to start taking steps forward.
I'm not much of a history buff nor do I have a huge interest in aviation but we spent hours in the museum and I was never bored. The collection they have on display is amazing. The docents are a wealth of information; do yourself a favor and take advantage of their knowledge. Some of them actually flew the planes you'll be seeing. Make sure you go on a day when the cockpits are open. And if you like books, they have a great selection of old reference books for sale in the gift shop.
Fun place to take your kids if they like airplanes.
Great Family oriented place. Our kids had so much fun, they also implement fun activities for the kids during our visit. Highly recommended for a fun and educational time with your family.
Awesome museum! Even got to sit in the cockpit of an old fighter plane. We got great, personalized service from one of the staff members too. Can't wait to come back.
It's a fun and resourceful place to learn about planes and several wars. Very educational and you can even get into some of the cockpits.
A Jewel of a Museum in Connecticut
Very nice museum lots of different planes, jets, helicopters and information.
Great history, super exhibits, fun for young and old.
It was an awesome experience with my daughter and 15 yr old grandson! We was able to sit in on some of the airplanes
Excellent! Entertains all ages.
Fantastic aviation museum with a wonderful collection and great displays and interactive exhibits.
It was very fun to walk around and see the old planes that were part of history
KINGS QUEENS 1234567IOLLC. KING VICTOR ARTURO ZAMUDIO SR 1234567IOLLC.
Amazing collection, definitely worth a trip out. Only advice is wear comfortable shoes.
The collection of aircraft is extensive. Most of them look like they came off the assembly line this morning. They dont fly them because they are too rare. The docents and restoration people really know their stuff and they make it interesting.
Went to a wedding here and it was really cool. They had workers educating guests all evening, which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. A unique spot for a wedding.
Awesome! Activities for kids and adults
This is a really nice outing. More to it than I thought. The volunteer guides are very knowledable & even frequent patrons will offer info on all the different aircraft. The size of the craft surprised me & there are many interactive displays & opportunities for great pictures. It brought out the kid in me. The admission is nominal & while discounts are available, we chose to pay the full price as the budget for everything they do is never enough. We'll be going back often, so yeah, I highly recommend it.
Everything looked cool. Reason for 4 stars is that when I went outside, there was a bees nest
Wide variety of both classic warplanes/helicopters and commercial aircraft. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Exquisitely informative placards and displays, to the point of frequently being in-depth for museum "blurbs." A little something for everybody. Whether you are into the engineering, the history, the local involvement, the people, or just flight in general... down to human powered flying machines...this museum certainly covers the bases with rich descriptions of the lot. The layout is indoor/outdoor, mostly indoor. There are small activities for children. Kids/people are permitted to enter the cockpits of many of the displays when supervised. There are computer flight simulators (CESNA) to add a bit if fun. The museum continues to restore additional machines and remains in a state of evolving. Multiple time periods represented. With dedicated artistic depictions of varying aircraft and battles, I'd go so far as to say there is a modicum of poetry to be experienced at this location as well. There are public bathrooms. There is a gift shop that includes model aircraft. There is a parking lot and it is free. Kids were $10 each. Adults were $14 each. (2019) Some local libraries have limited passes that residents with a library card can sign out for free entry. It is air conditioned. Make sure not to cheat yourself, after seeing the immense B-29 , go up to the landing to take a gander at it from above.
Hidden gem, kids loved it. Cool exhibits
We loved it! Tons of incredible flying machines and awesome support staff!
This museum is a hidden jewel. Great collection and wonderfully knowledgeable tour guides/volunteers. Don’t miss it!
Great place to spend time and learn a lot!! Staff is awesome and very helpful willing to teach you about the aircraft!!
Very cool place to go if you like airplanes, You can really get a feel for how big the planes are.
We were members several years ago
Fun place to go with the kids...we able to get in the cockpit and get a background story if how it was used and how they got it here very interesting I think I want flight lessons now
Is was really neat to see all the planes and helicopters. I really liked the b-29 super fortress
Awesome place to take the kids or just go and admire the meticulously maintained historic aircraft.
My family and I had a great time here. My son and I love airplanes and this place is filled with so much history. Great selection of military and civilian aircraft. The displays they have throughout the museum have a wealth of information of aviation history. There is also the sound of the Bradley Airport air traffic controls over an intercom as you walk through the areas of the museums which give this place a nice touch. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
This museum has a truly remarkable collection of aircraft in three hangers, one of which is almost entirely occupied by a B29 bomber in beautiful condition. They have military and civilian aircraft, all lovingly restored and cared for. The only down side? It would have been cool to have access to a few more of the cockpits. Several were marked as open sometimes, but only one was a available (briefly) during our extended tour of the museum. Also - poorly signposted! It's practically hidden. Perhaps with more visitors, they could afford more docents to oversee cockpit visits?
Its awesome place
Some amazing antique airplanes, both civilian and wartime, be sure to set aside at least half a day to look them over and to read the display panels.....there is a lot of history there.
Spent 2 hours in heaven loo k ING at the war birds
Truly amazing ...so much info .. Super clean . great .price
All US Army crew members must and will meet weight standards to qualify for Helicopter crew member status. This weight standard requirement was lifted for the crew of the CH54B Heavy Lift Skycrane .... . “Egor Sikorskys Dream” through many tests skinny crews weren’t able to successfully complete the many many 20-25,000 lb. single point lifts. A heavier older crew from the CTARNG took on the same effortless challenges and Egor bowed to Guard crew and his personal project , The Sikorsky CH54B Skycrane.was assigned an AA rating.
Be sure to stop and read the small exhibits next to the plane... Lots of hidden gems. Pieces of the Hindenburg, space toilets, etc...
Absolutely wonderful displays of our military aviation and it's history. I salute all those folks that keep your military history alive in this museum. Thank you for your professionalism and dedications you put into this facility.
Awesome Day for a Wedding party.
This place is amazing, so much history in one place. I can't believe I lived here for a decade plus without coming here. I will definitely be back.
Good selection of planes and articles about the planes and how used.
Very nice! I recommend that everyone goes!
Grandson loved it!!! He face lit up when he was able to sit in the helicopter and the airplane.
This place was a lot of fun, as someone who loves air planes, this place is amazing and there is a lot of detail here, amazing place
Nice display of the history of aviation
Very well put together and great staff. Loved the experience!
We took my sister, brother in law and our nephew and it was their first time going. We all had a blast. The staff was amazing and very friendly. Lots to see and do. Took us a couple hours to go through the entire museum.
Great place.. very informed guides. Lots of history. Fave was the A3 skywarrior aka Whale! More than worth the price of admission!
Fascinating. So much to see and learn. Actual planes from multiple eras
Very Educational. Fun for All Ages
Very cool place, even if you are not an aviation junkie like myself. Lots for the kids (10+11), plus it was "open cockpit day", so folks could access the Huey, Sea Sprite, F100, and a couple others. Plenty of parking on site. Reasoale prices.
Absolutely a Fantastic Museum. Located adjacent to Bradley Airport, not far from the main Thoughofare and the Highway. Use the GPS directions on the Museum's we site for accuracy. Plenty of free parking including spaces for Handicap accessible Vehicles. It is Handicap accessible, has restrooms and a small snack area. The museum gives you a great walk through the start of aviation forward. Plenty of hands on displays and videos. The are also Museum Volunteers walking about who are very knowledgeable and also are probably one of the Volunteers who actually has worked on rebuilding the planes on display. We spent 5 hours looking at the various displays and could have spent much more time. Don't pass this Museum up if you are in the area.
Go! Allow 3 hours as a guide, if you admire love and appreciate flight this trip is well worth your time. Hands on touching and kid friendly too. You will not be disappointed
Awesome! Amazing knowledgeable staff more planes and helicopters than I thought there would be. Just a really cool place
Very cool place. Lots to see.
Happened to be driving by on vacation, my husband and decided to stop and check it out. So glad we did! One of the coolest museums I’ve been to. So much info and if you’re feeling adventurous, do the scavenger hunt!
FANTASTIC stuff and wonderful staff! We will be back again for sure!
Very cool and well done. Would be 5 stars if we could go in the larger planes
This place was way better than I was expecting! They do a great job with restoration and making it as hands on as possible. Love the open cocpit time. Don't miss the blimp! It is by far my favorite thing in the museum!
An broad collection, excellent exhibits, terrific docents. Great for kids and adults who enjoy climbing into cockpits and learning local and international aviation history.
Small but a Big Punch
Such an amazing museum, go on an open cockpit day to be able to sit in the planes. Knowlegable staff, ask questions. Incredible assortment of aircraft history.
Brought my kids, 10 and 14, thinking that they'd be mildly entertained on a rainy day by what I remembered as interesting a few decades ago and I can't say enough about how much fun it was to watch them go through it. They had an absolute blast and I can't thank the volunteers that were on hand to explain and share their experiences enough. Carl, in particular, is a gem. I hope he's there when you go.
Lots of old planes and some space related items to view. Even an older simulator and games if you're up for those. A bunch of relics in the outside yard too - one can't help wonder if it's possible to keep these in better shape. It seems you can climb in cockpits & bays of some planes/ jets too. A shop has a bunch of mementos and more too. I know they have special events sometimes, so look out for those. Only regret I have is they had an A10 at one point - but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.
Awesome facility. It is well maintained and they have way more on display then I ever would have imagined. Well worth the price or admission.
I have been to a couple other air museums and this one is really impressive. One of the employees was kind enough to show me how the B29 turret targeting system worked. Awesome technology for WWII. He also pointed several other wonderful items. Some wonderful and impressive people have donated their time to restore this history. If I lived in the area I would be a regular visitor.
Very interesting and well done museum.
Expensive family day out, but space expo is worth it
Good exhibits, I wish it were a bit more interactive. Value is good. Best for people who have a serious interest. Be sure to pick the minds of the docents.
I liked this place because the air planes have so many different features
Awesome exhibits especially the F-100 and A-10
Very nice museum. Large displays and availability to go inside certain aircrafts. Loads of information available. Very enjoyable visit.
A fantastic gem located close to Bradford airport. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the museum was laid out in a way that was easy to navigate, exhibits were super engaging and I loved learning the history of the WWII aircraft. Great spot if you’re an aviation lover and in the area
The volunteer, Tom(?), was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the special attention he gave us. Also loved hearing his stories. We were glad we stopped by the Air Museum. Hidden gem...
Interesting planes, helicopters. Very clean facility. Well laid out.
Stopped in for a quick stroll. Wound up spending the better part of the day exploring. They have some amazing exhibits and beautifully restored aircraft. We got year memberships and look forward to going back for more. Hands on displays and stuff to do for the kids. If you enjoy aviation, this museum will not disappoint you.
Fantastic displays and great people that run it
Love this place. Fun for kids to learn history
Very good place to visit. Kids who likes vehicles will enjoy the most and good option to see many aircrafts very closely and get into them. Staff explains about each vehicle very nicely.
Very clean and well maintained historical place..go check it out
Amazing place, great service and incredibly knowledgeable staff! I'm definitely returning there the first chance I get.
Highly recommended for aviation fanatics. Got to experience, see, and touch some of the most extraordinary airplanes involved in WWI and WWII
Very impressed with the museum. Staff is courteous, knowledgeable and very helpful. Rich, who offered to be our guide was extremely pleasant and made our experience wonderful. I would highly recommend visiting the museum. The history of the aircraft is incredible and most aircraft were once functional rather than being replicas. Looking forward to my next visit!
So, had my sons 5th birthday party today, and it was a HIT. This place never ceases to amaze me. Jeannie was phenomenal, kept the kids entertained the entire time. Kids (and parents) had a blast!!! Can’t wait to have it there again. Highly recommended
So educational and cool.
Great place for people who love flying, airplanes, helicopters and engines. Also lots of exhibits featuring the human side- stories of soldiers, inventors, engineers and famous figures like the Red Baron (and on and on). You can spend some time here
There are few museums that house such a great collection of historic airplanes that I've seen. Anyone interested in American military air history, commercial air travel, and history in general will enjoy this place! Definitely worth the trip.
Amazing museum. If you are into planes in any way shape or form, visit there museum and walk around with the one of the guides who will explain everything you always wanted to know and more. I'm not an avid plane enthusiast but having the guide made the trip here just awesome. Our guide let us see the inside of so many planes and had so many stories to tell. Definitely recommended for an afternoon.
I could spend a full day at this museum. But then again I'm a nut about airplanes :-)
Amazing guide and beautiful planes
Awesome place but the people who work there are so rude. I like to go the parking lot and watch the planes and one of the workers came out to my car with the nastiest attitude asking "can we help you with something? If not then you need to leave because we are closing." Ive spoken to state police patrolling around the airport, one of them in that exact parking lot while the museum was closed and never had a problem. The cop actually told me about other places that were good to watch planes from but never said i couldnt be there.
Had a great time here with our Civil Air Patrol squadron. Many very interesting displays and aircrafts. Staff was very nice as well! Loved the yellow CAP plane!
Allow a full day to your this place. Well worth it. Aircraft, engines, military history galore!
Wonderful time here with the family. Some wonderful volunteers. Learned of some absolutely amazing stories from one of the guides. Be sure to ask about the candy bomber. It's a story you don't want to miss
Great exhibits, good descriptions, interesting additional information and stories. Some tipos in the descriptions are a hindrance to excellency.
This is a very dynamic aviation museum. There's always something new to see and learn. I have a family membership and visit frequently. The docents are friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this museum to everyone!
This is a really great aviation museum with some amazing exhibits. I'd highly encourage anyone in the area to stop by.
I went for an event to celebrate Amelia Earhart day and was only able to stay for a short time. But still, I was very impressed and will be going back for a much longer visit.
Have visited before. Improved exhibit areas with one area under construction. One of the volunteers (Jim) acted as a guide and was very helpful. Buildings air conditioned or heated according to season. The B29 was the major exhibit and is a great plane to see.
Excellent collection, extraordinary experience. A must- visit destination for all ages
Maybe should be 5 stars but nothing can be “perfect”. Fantastic displays and educational experiences. Staff is excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The displays change but the aircraft are typically the same. I’ve been twice - ten years apart - so maybe I just missed out on variety. They do actual restoration work here so you can see progress with each visit. I’ve read online there are more aircraft in storage. You can easily kill a few hours here which is great on a rainy day. Everyone in southern New England should come here at least once, even if you are not an aviation enthusiast.
Great open cockpit day with lots of volunteers to guide and instruct. Highly recommended for families even with young children. Our 3 yr old engaged in many of the activities and exhibits.
Great place to reminisce and learn, or teach the young ones about our history. Very nice collection of well preserved hardware and knowledgeable staff to help you remember.
Was a great time we went for space day great added exhibits love all the Kaman and Pratt and Sikorsky displays
Best place to know more about air craft engineering and it's functions. Gives a good understanding about the aviation history of New England and the key iconic figures from the locality. The ambience is good. Control room conversation which plays at the background gives a while new perspective.
Very nice place to see planes! Especially the B-29, tickets can be a little pricey, $15 for an adult.
Very impressive display of aircraft.
Excellent variety of planes with interesting exhibits, including helicopters and airship pieces too. They also provide many steps around the aircraft so you can look inside and there's a fighter jet that they sometimes let people sit in. Gift shop has all kinds of gifts too and great selection of aviation related books. Highly recommend for anyone.
Wonderful experience! The wealth of knowledge from all the volunteers is amazing. I learned so much, got to sit in the cockpit of a P47 Thunderbolt, watched as they put one plane in storage and brought another out.
Great value! I used to go there all the time as a kid. There was so much more than I remember. Great for history buffs and those who love aviation.
We happen to come on Open cockpit day. Amazing experience for the kids. Talking to commercial and military pilots. Talking to former engineers restoring old planes. That made am the difference!
Brought my 2 year old daughter who absolutely loved it. Great exhibits with pleasant and helpful staff!
Very nice location. Very very friendly people. If you are close to it you definetely should visit it.
Wonderful place to see and experience history abour the fighter jets and aerospace industry
It's an interesting place to visit for both Kids and Adults alike. The collection of aircraft across Military, Civil is good but can be built on.
Super friendly volunteer staff. One on the best day trips you could make in Connecticut.
Absolutely awesome place what a CT gem
They doing a great job preserving and displaying the rich connecticut history of aerospace. We had such a great time there today!
This museum is full of unique and interesting aircrafts from over the years. There is alot of historic war aircrafts on display here. You are able to take an upclose look inside most of the aircrafts. There are several engines and aircraft parts on display. Each display has extensive information posted which truly makes for an educational experience. If you have an interest in aircrafts, this is definitely not a place you want to miss visiting if you are at the Bradley Airport and have some time to kill. There is a really nice gift shop on location. In my opinion, it is even worth planning extra time to visit if you are in the area.
The docents were very helpful. The information available is complete and the displays in good order
Great place.
Had a great time very cool planes
Great place for any history (WW-II) or aviation buff. Takes 2-4 hours depending on deep one wants to spend time on each artifact. The flight simulator was a good fun part for kids.
All the aircrafts are from 2nd world war. The volunteers are also describes the history also. Overall nice experience.
Great especially for any flying buff or vets. Kids love it.
What a jewel this museum is! Small enough to see it all in a day but exhibits worth the drive. The B-29 is a must see. Wow! Fighter planes and jets are there and to cover all bets there is a wwII gondola used to spot and bomb subs. I’m not a wild fan of aircraft but we went for my husband and I had a great time. Great for bored kids on summer vacation. There are flight simulators (they are on PCs, not in a mocked up cockpit ) good for kids up to age 77.
Super cool! Got to sit in the aircraft while a pilot walked us through the machine. Highly recommend
Thank you to all the veterans and staff, what a great museum to go to with kids. The best was the veterans actually flew in most of the planes and helicopters. We appreciate all you have done for our country. Thank you so much for keeping our borders and people safe. God bless you and your families.
The space Expo was the best experience I ever had
Brought my 4 and 5 year olds and love it. Amazing history by a fun enjoyable trip for the kids also
Really great place. Extremely educational and wonderful aircraft. We'll be back again for sure.
Loved the Veterans who volunteered and had so much information to share. What a wonderful asset to a beautiful museum's collection.
Full sized airplanes from different wars with history of the plane
Had granddaughters party there, alote to see, fun place
Was a awesome place with alot of old planes
The exhibits are top notch and spot on. As an aircraft mechanic with over 50years of experience I should know. The volunteer staff are there to help and make a wonderful experience for the aviation enthusiast and family.
Always a great experience!
Such a cool fun place!
Great collection of planes that include a Vought F4U Corsair, an F-4 with an air-to-air victory on its record, and an F-104. The volunteers are amazing as well, and quite glad to share the stories about what's on display.
Place is great. Despite the currator who kinda looks like a tall McLovin
Great place for the kids and history nerds
One of the more reasonably priced, best kept secret type attractions. Awesome static displays for both helicopter and fixed wing aficionados.
