You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people like you who bought the services of Old State House Museum (Tourist Attraction) in Arkansas area.
At present this firm gets a rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 and this rating is based on 384 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is almost the highest, and it is founded on a large number of opinions, so we can be quite sure that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Museum.
I liked the place, took my grand daughter and believe it or not she enjoyed it too. I love history and it was very entertaining. Its definitely worth a visit. Give it a tey
Night at the Museum was a really great adults only night! Truly a lot of fun, and a blast to be in the Museum at this time if the day! Give it a try!
A wonderful free museum in downtown Little Rock that shows the Old State House the way people lived several up-to-date displays of historical value and lots of opportunities to learn about Arkansas and its culture.
The grounds are very well kept but the sidewalk could use some TLC.
Very educational. Interesting construction from the southern area. Currently a museum but historical perspective of prior use as the capitol building is preserved.
This is a beautiful museum with a large variety of artifacts. It is a nice smaller size for children (and adults) to walk through without getting bored or worn out. We were at the Robinson center and could easily walk over between events.
Great place to learn about history of your state and the background of the characters that shook the politics of our past. A great place to take the family to spend several hours reading about the events that make a part of modern day politics.
Nice sitting area out front.
Very informative.
Good informational stop
Site seeing. Beautiful place
Another place to visit if you want to learn from this state history. Also a great place to take photos with the family.
Fun place for the kids to have a feild trip!
One of my favorite places to visit.
Enjoyed learning about the politics of Arkansas. Was horrified at how a certain political party that pretends to have the poor and minorities best interest actually used them in some terrible ways back 70 years ago or so. Come here to learn more and your view of the world will certainly be challenged as was mine.
Cute place with some interesting exhibits. Lovely oddity section
We were there a year ago today. Cool place, except that the Clinton's had anything to do with it. Arkansas should be ashamed of the crooks
Thank you! All the outside and inside staffs welcoming greetings and powerful conversations; are just what we need these days to grow forward! A wonderful experience walking through the past to present we have come so far and still have far too go! God bless America!! <3<3
Built between 1836 and 1842 The Old State House aka the Arkansas State House is the oldest surviving state capitol building west of the Mississippi River. It was used as the official state capitol building until the new capitol building was completed in 1912
Not much to look at
Great experience for families
If you love Arkansas' history, this is the place!
Great place to visit to learn about the history of Little Rock, Arkansas. No entrance fee, only donations.
Interesting history. I loved it
It is a beautiful historic building in its own right plus it had wonderful exhibits. It had an a couple authors there to sign their purchased books!! I would highly recommend it.
Very informative curator. A significant portion of the museum honors the women who have helped to launch Arkansas forward. A wing is dedicated to quilts as well as other rooms depicting womens contributions to society. There is currently a Greek exibit. There are artifacts from early cultures. Obviously, there are a large number of exibits relating to historical figures throughout the museum.
Excellent place to visit, and the best part, it's FREE. Lots of exhibits and they are so varied that everyone will see something of interest.
Interesting place. Great exhibit
Impressive free museum with lots of history
I was more impressed with the architecture of the building itself than the museum displays, but I'm not going to downgrade my rating because I'm just not really into museum displays in general. The building itself is beautiful and appears to be taken well care of.
So neat! There are a variety of exhibits with a lot of interesting things to see!
Very beautiful area downtown to explore especially with free admission (donations happily excepted) and 1 hour parking validation at the Double Tree's garage across from the museum. Not really a hands on top of place but lots of things to see and read about including multiple changing exhibit rooms. Don't stick your head in the cannon (ask the helpful people at the front desk why! It's a good story!)
The people knew their history and made the tour interesting.
I was just with a friend dropping off an Uber eats order. So it wasn't really a visit. But I did visit 3 years ago and it was really really cool.
We enjoyed the history of the building and the exhibits. Also really enjoyed The First Ladies of Arkansas exhibit. Our only negative comment is that the young lady that was at the front desk was less than welcoming when we arrived and then when we were leaving at 4:15 the gift shop had already closed. We asked the same young lady if she could help us and she said she really couldn't. There were 3 employees there at the time but we had no luck in being able to purchase anything. That was disappointing. Maybe could beef up their costumer skills a bit.
A lot of the rooms on the second floor are getting new installations. A person wouldn't know if s/he could climb stairs. Since my son and I have to use the elevator, we had to have a guard escort us through some areas. I felt rushed because she was waiting on us to take her lunch.
Beautiful
It is a historic sight with knoelectable guides who can tell about local, and national history and culture as well as local attractions.
Very interesting
Lovely museum with very rare artifacts and rare collection of music instruments
Nothing like free to make you want to stop by; well, they also have some really nice historical displays. They also rotate around others so you might not see the same thing twice. We got to see dinosaur fossils and a great African quilt display this trip. Which the best one was created and made by a "MAN"!
It was very nice and educational
Neat info about the old building.
Great place to spend a Sunday with the kids, educational and beautiful. Plus it's free!!! Tips are always welcome though.
We had a great time learning about some awesome stuff
Great museum full of history
The Old State House Museum is the original state capitol of Arkansas and remains one of the state's most iconic structures. Enclosed within, you'll find a political history of the state, as well as numerous other exhibits covering many facets of Arkansas history. Admission is free, and they always have different events happening at the museum.
Nice exploration!
Wonderful historical museum. The staff & tour guide were very friendly. They have a little theater where you can watch clips about local Arkansas history.
This place is really neat and historic. I went there for a school project and the employees were very helpful in finding information for me and pointing out the things specific to my project.
Great place to go with family. It’s free and very well taken care of
Stopped by here while making a stop in Little Rock for the night on the way home from a road trip. We stayed at the Double Tree next door (Would NOT recommend that hotel) The Old State House was super cute, it's very well kept. It's a nice stroll to take and there are some great photo ops. I would recommend stopping here if you are already in downtown Little Rock.
Lovely old historic building, nice exhibits.
Great place to visit once.
Very enjoyable.
Tour guide was great! We learned so much about Arkansas
Good experience especially for a free museum. A good amount of history in the presentations without being overwhelming. They've done a fabulous job on restoring this gorgeous old building.
What a treasure for our state! Incredible history. Wonderful building. Very helpful staff. Please go see this site.
Would be great interest to Arkansas History.
Beautiful place awesome acoustics. Arkansas Chamber Choir was excellent
Cool place. Good to take the family.
Nice museum with different kinds of artifacts. The best part is: “my trash is your treasure “! Must see thing!
Excellent museum showcasing Arkansas in every way!
The Old State House is a wonderful (and free) attraction downtown. If you're looking for an exciting museum for the kids, head down the road to the Museum of Discovery. However, for history lovers this is a great museum. The exhibits are average, the real reason to come is for the building itself, it has a nice view of the Arkansas River and a stunning and classically Southern facade.
Very interesting , but some of the displays didn't really appeal to me.
Fantastic museum! Well worth the time and it's free!!
Very interesting History if you love museum's this is one for the books
Great place to have a great big fat southern wedding!
The staff are very helpful and mostly very knowledgeable. They answer every question you might have or think of having that they can answer. Every tour is different. Awesome place for those interested in history. They have a play room for kids too.
Interesting exhibit. Worth the trip for sure.
At the time of my last picture posts they had most of the exhibits off limit for viewing.
The history and Decor were amazing. Just FYI don't go when homecoming is taking a tour. The kids ruined it
Wonderful people very patient with our 5 children. Great place to stop in at while in town.
It's a beautiful building that has been restored and is now American history. You'll enjoy it.
The Old Statehouse was a very interesting place to visit. I spent about 2 hours there and was very impressed. In addition to exhibits on the history of Arkansas, there were exhibits on celebrities who were born in the state. I also enjoyed the exhibit of gowns worn by the first ladies of Arkansas. The upper floor has been restored to show how it looked when the early state legislature was located there. The setting of the Old Statehouse was beautiful. It sits on the bank of the Arkansas River. I highly recommend this stop to all visitors.
i went here because i love old houses and buildings but i found this museum to be very interesting. a lot of different things to see. plus i was greeted by a smile and a really friendly girl that was extremely nice as were very employee there. so very helpful and gave me some great tips on other places to see. i really enjoyed my visit to this museum.
Attended a concert there. Enjoyed the old architecture.
Always interesting exhibits. They do all of this and only ask for a donation. The gift shop has some nice and inexpensive options.
Got to talk to Staff about the Civil War today, it was amazing! Fun tour for kids/schools, very educational.
I call it the Arkansas White House. Cool place
Well done museum with political artifacts and other interesting items... Great and free :)
Neat free museum. Came here with my 5 year old son. He loved the train/dress up room. I enjoyed seeing the architecture of the old state house and the various exhibits.
This place has a great history tour at no cost. Must call ahead for reservations. The tour guides really know the history of this building and those whom served in it. If this review helped you, please give me a like!
This place is talked about in many publications from tourist pamphlets to Civil War books and seemed to hold a special place in Arkansas history. You couldn't tell by the exhibits. Many nearly empty areas and closed off areas. Just not what I expected at all.
Great!
Special events here are great! Tonight cos and cheese dip and #stonesthrowbeer #goodtimes
Very informative of early arkansas history.
This place is awesome! Plus it is free to get in! The old historic state house is beautiful and has been beautifully restored and maintained. The exhibits were great and I really enjoyed the recreated rooms. This place is large and ada compliant. They also have a play place for small children. If you like history you definitely need to check this place out! The place also has a small gift shop.
When I came here, I thought they would have a more vibrant view into Arkansas history and the rooms looking like they were in the 19th century. I felt like they turned it into a convention center. They had a lot of traveling exhibits. That was not what I came for. However, they had a faint view in a room that did not look like the 19th century and the old House and Senate chambers.
The old State House is a beautiful place and rich in history of Arkansas. History buffs and thrill seekers..... this is a place for you. Your hearts will be made joyous
Free to enter and look around family had a good time checking out this old building and everything in it
Staff here was so nice, we got a tour from a guide, who knew about everything. Her name was Amanda, she was awesome. The exhibits are interesting. We saw the Miss Arkansas dresses and curiosities from the U of A. They also have first ladies of Arkansas's gowns and an exhibit on Arkansas gowns.
I was working as a security guard yesterday
Interesting local gem
Nice history and museum. Arkansas' old Capitol building which played a part in the Civil War in AR. Nice exhibits but in my opinion some of them need an update. Interesting place to visit though. Parking is a little hard to come by.
The great placed that shows our history
Did a quick 15min tour because they were closing (plane landed late), but found a great exhibition on Banjos and other interesting collections (see pics).
Free entrance , a nice place to go while you are in downtown little rock
Beautiful building. Donations encouraged, free admission. Good balance of new and old history. Well worth a visit!
Well my friend and I were there for a business meeting, we discovered the beauty and intrigue of this museum. While the staff is very helpful, parking is very challenging as the area is currently under construction for the Bridge Project. Expect to walk the distance from parking.
Awesome! Has lots to see and very affordable souvenirs
Built in 1800 stand proudly as developing States and growing community, which reflects respected for present, progressives ideas for future.
Incredible. Every time
Little Rock history at its finest. A true gem!
Beautiful history! Free parking at any meter parking on Sundays in downtown DR.
Nice historic building with displays about the house and revolving exhibition such as the first ladies dresses. This is the building from which Clinton announced his run for President.
They had a beautiful quilt exhibit
Great museum with great exhibits.
I loved it beautiful and historical a must see if your in the little rock area free admission and open all day
Beautiful grounds and historic building. Excellent exhibits. Free admission.
Very nice we took our nieces & they had a good time.
Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Fantastic exhibits.
A friendly welcome, quite a large historic building, impressive from exterior, lots of rooms, only a few that represented the past, majority of rooms had cardboard displays boards describing it's history and other relevant historical facts regarding Arkansas, worth a visit, could have been better
Historic landmark building in downtown Little Rock with fantastic exhibits year round.
It was free and full of cool information. Located right next to my hotel. The volunteers were cool and gave me advice on more places to go.
It has been a year or 3 since I visited the old state house, smallish , the second oldest in the country, they are now open regularly after renovations, a beautiful colonel building they used to hang witches out front, and if you were not a witch they have stocks out front, the inside is absolutely beautiful with antique colonial furniture, anyway when you get to the top the whole deal changes and you find yourself in a sort of Ripleys bealive it or not museum, I honestly do not know how this came about but only in Hartford, a 2 headed pig in a jar, a shrunken head, and all sorts of weird stuff you will see in no other state house, if your downtown it's worth a look.
Dedicated people working hard to make this a fun, interesting place for everyone to learn about Little Rock's historical ties. Events like the Seersucker Social make it great!
It is a beautiful location and is free to tour
Great location for hot of town visitors. You might run into a past Governor.
You walk in there, you're instantly transported back 150 years. Very old looking and old smelling, but also eloquent and beautiful. Pretty interesting place.
before I came here I didn't even know who George Washington was
Cool free museum. The quilt exhibit was one of my favorites. My wife like the indian bead work & the gowns.
There really isnt anything here that is worth the stop for an out of town visitor. Only one mention of President Clinton, and his portrait is nowhere to be seen. Lots of empty space that could be better utilized. Clean bathrooms.
Wonderful museum great Arkansas history in downtown Little Rock a must-see.
Beautiful.friendly. staff knows all kinds of interesting facts about it's history. Also spirits.
some of the best use of taxpayer money i've ever seen... facsinaitng and fun.... 2 thumbs up
Loved the tour. So much more there than just facts and exhibits about the Old State Capitol.
Mildly interesting & random collection. Great children's room for young children.
Loved it. The exhibits were excellent
Love the history
I really enjoyed touring this little museum. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was free. I made a small donation and encourage any visitors to do the same.
Permanent and changing exhibits are well displayed and always interesting. Nice gift shop. Fully accessible. Located adjacent to the River Walk/bike trail and on the trolley line.
Beautiful place and amazings sweet staff
Nice little free museum. Spent three hours browsing, could take longer.
Nice place to visit
Cool history, a lot of cool exhibits, that change month to month. Totally free!
Free entry, but you should leave a donation in the box. Great museum housed in what used to be the old capitol building/governor's mansion. Excellent displays of the history of the building and Arkansas government. Also contains exhibits on natural history, paleontology, cultural artifacts dating to antiquity from many cultures, a big machine gun confiscated from the back of Bonnie & Clyde's car, and a kid friendly selfie booth. There are also displays of ball gowns from former Arkansas first ladies including Hillary Clinton and a room full of memorabilia from each Arkansas governor's election campaign. And, of course, there is a display dedicated to the Clinton presidential campaign. The museum also a railroad room for children and revolving exhibits of state artists/notables. When we went, there was a display of guitars from an Arkansas guitar maker. Highly recommended for a low cost (or free if you're truly strapped) outing with the kids or without. Front yard and fountain is excellent for bridal and other photos.
FREE! Beautiful! History! So why wouldn't you go visit. Awesome, friendly staff.
