DESCRIPTION

You have the reviews of people like you who are using the products and services of Lakeport Plantation (Tourist Attraction) in Arkansas.

At the present the firm has a score of 4.7 stars over 5 and the score is based on 38 reviews.

You must have seen that its rating is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the valuation is very reliable. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the service, is that it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to give reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Museum.

$5 admission. Plan on 1 hour. The welcome center has displays and artifacts as well as helpful staff who answer questions. You are then taken on a room by room tour of the mansion and grounds and your questions are welcomed. Note that if you have a huge RV or a trailer: look at Google satellite view for the entry drive & parking situation. I would probably unhook by the freeway and drive over.

Beautiful piece of history!

A hidden gem between the cotton fields! Our guide had a passion for history and knew so much, it was really a wonderful experience!

The house is a wonderfully maintained artifact of American history. The visitor is seeing the original house. It is not a replica or restoration because the original house was never allowed to fall into disrepair. Our guide, Katy, was extremely knowledgeable and was very forthright about the origins as a slave plantation. It is absolutely worth seeing.

The plantation is a really nice visit. It's an interesting snapshot into one family in the middle of the advance of history in Arkansas. Renovation is still ongoing, but what they've been able to do so far is pretty impressive. Only two things I think need improvement is how to make purchases there. You almost need to have an ability to take card payment for gift shop products these days. Personally, I think the interpretation should address indentured servitude, which it does, but it doesn't talk about what the institution really was. As an historical site I think it's missing an opportunity to explore more in depth what it really was and the people who were involved.

Check out time that it's open before going. We had tour that showed all there is to. Great piece of American history.

This past November, I took a painful walk through history, a walk that should be required by all Americans....and a walk that I did appreciate. There needs to a Museum like this in every city.

Cary Tyson

A perfectly restored plantation that tells the story of Arkansas, the Arkansas Delta and Lake Village. An incredible experience for people who love history. A worthy investment of both time and money.

I really enjoyed my visit. I was slightly disappointed it wasn't furnished but the information I received was excellent and my guide extremely knowledgeable. It was $5 a person. Remember to bring cash or a check because they don't take debit or credit cards.

Our tour guide had a PhD, and he was part of the restoration group. My wife is from the area and they spoke intensely of the history of the area. He kept asking if she had pictures. Everything restored to the Antebellum period. Great place to learn history of the Delta area.

Scott Thiemann

I really enjoyed Ruth's information and dedication to sharing this amazing place. What was interesting to me especially was the history of the building and how it was constructed as well as the information she shared about the owner and how he dealt with the slaves he had.

WARNING House closes at 4 not 5!! Looked lovely from the outside, but we drove pretty far out of our way to be unable to see inside of the place. It would be helpful to locate "house closes at 4" above the bolded "Office Hours M-F 8-5" on their website. I was told in the office that it takes an hour to tour the home. The website says tours are available only at 10 and 2. If the only way to actually go inside the home is to do it for an entire hour at 10 or 2 on a weekday, not many people will ever be able to tour, or even head down the highway to see the outside. It makes me sad. Preservation of these places is not that important if they are inaccessible.

Far better than I had expected. Since there was no one there, it was just our family. The tour guide stayed after closing to finish with us. Excellent service.

This place was awesome, and all that thanks to the lovely lady Ruth and her walkthrough tour! The house itself is not furnished, but the history is perfectly preserved. Certainly worth the visit!
