You must have seen that the average score it has is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of National park.
This is one of the best national parks you can visit. It is very hot. Just a reminder, it is in a desert. The hikes are wonderful. Take lots of water. The hikes are definitely worth it.
By far my family's favorite National Park. Can't turn your head without looking at a breathtaking vista. The Narrows is our favorite hike and we make an effort to keep coming back whenever time permits.
My favorite national park to date. Can be crowded so show up early for parking. Absolutely stunning views that photos don’t do justice.
Incredible, well organized. Great experience. Highly recommend! Will be going back to finish the trails soon hopefully! Boots and poles are necessary for narrows ⛰
Great people. Great town. I wish all towns were like this
A very beautiful place, way to crowded. Made it unenjoyable. The park needs a better way to manage parking, send a 1/2 hour just to fund a place to park.
Awesome park and some of the great hikes across it. What's more impressive is such a helpful staff at the Visitor center. If you're visiting the park in the off season and have only a day to spend like us then go for the Angel's Landing hike. The hike rewards like none other with astounding views of the valley. The park turns even more beautiful at the sunset.
Best decision ever!!! Angels landing trek is a bit intense but worth the pain. The views are mesmerizing. If ur visiting during summer and planning on doing this trek I would highly recommend to start early morning to escape the heat. Also make sure to carry water and energy bar since it's a 4-5 hour trek.
One of the most amazing places to visit! Very unique rock formations. Amazing colors showing geological strata so clearly. Will return for sure.
If I could give it a 10 I would. Absolutely amazing. If you are planning on the river walk a must is rent the hiking shoes with the neoprene inserts for 25 dollars. Well worth it . Saves you from ruining yours and gives great grip on the river bed rocks, highly recommend it. Saw people trying it bare foot, they didn't make it tar. Staff are awesome and the park shuttle buses are great. Parking is limited so the shuttle services to the park is great. In the park also highly recommended. So much to see you tough to see it all. Early morning starts recommended before the temperature gets to warm. A lot of trails are paved or hard surfaces, easier for all ages.
When we arrived at the park we choose a trail and when we were in the middle we saw that the trail is closed, without any advisement at the beginning so we waster 45 minutes, we took 4 chicken sandwiches at the bar and 3 of them were without chicken so this was another bad service. I don't give one star only because there are good services instead for example the shuttle which come every 10-15 minutes, and obviously the natural landscapes you can see in the park even if looking at the photos the park seemed a little better than the reality
This park is truly magical. I’ve enjoyed hiking Angels Landing, swimming in the narrows, watching the colors change, and exploring the east side. Be sure to plan enough time to explore the east side of the park and not just the places that the free shuttle takes you.
Great place to spend a day or two. Angel's Landing hike is a big one. Like 4k feet up big. Hiking the narrows is amazing. There were a lot of people there but most were polite and respectful of others and of the park. The scenic drive through the tunnel is a must.
Awesome place!! Grateful for the buses and the well marked trails. Super crowded and popular. Glad I went early in the morning.
Awesome hike up the Narrows. Lots of people on the hike, it's very popular. Nice and cool wading up the river on the hike. Often it was waste deep. Wear water shoe and quick drying clothing.
Zion National Park is amazing! Great bus service through the park. Just go on line and check out some pics it will become a must see for you too!
Great park to visit. Exceptional nature. The bus tour is very well organized and included in the entrance fee. We were there with our family and as well very much enjoyed sitting in the river to cool down.
LOVED the park!! It is extremely well taken care of. Rangers were helpful and obviously enjoy their jobs. Breathtaking views everywhere you look!! It is a MUST do!! Definitely will go back.
Mother nature in all her beautiful glory. The tunnels are cool. I just couldn't believe how many were hiking in the heat in August. We just drove through and back.
Love this park. The bus system is super effective. Unfortunately a good amount of trails were closed right now but still an amazing place.
Very Beautiful! You want to a get some exercise with a view? This is the place to be. They have all kinds of different hikes. Some parking is free for two hours. If you drive a lit bit more, like around hike #3 I believe, they charge you $35 to get in to the rest of the park. The annual pass is most definitely better if you hike a lot and live near by. I believe it's $60. Make sure to bring enough water and sunscreen and obviously a backpack to carry your things. Also all the shuttle buses are free so you can either use that or a bike. If you want to get wet and cool off you can ONLY get in the water on hike 9. You definitely need to come here and make it a priority.
We came here April 2019 and lucked out on the weather. It was perfect hiking temps. The Narrows was closed unfortunately but you take what you can get! Angels Landing made up for it. If you line up for the shuttle service, go early. The park has so much to offer that you can easily spend days here exploring. We stayed for 2 full days and feel it was a good amount of time. The best national park hands down
No question how the park earned it's name. It's beauty is unmatched in the area. One of Utah's Mighty Five. Expect to be swarmed with other visitors. Use the park shuttle as it is the only option during the summer months. Be respectful. Stay on the trail. Do not litter. Help preserve this wonderful place for others to enjoy.
Large National Park with lots of hiking trails from easy to extremely difficult. Park is crowded and has limited parking. Great place to visit to see the great outdoors.
It was an absolutely amazing and well worth it. Would of loved to spent longer here. Even swimming in the virgin river was really refreshing.
The tunnel is SO COOL plan very far in advance if you want to camp in the park. And plan to pay extra for parking if you want to do trails and are not camping in the park. Beautiful place could easily spend several days enjoying the veiws
Beautiful national park with dramatic views, gets crowded in the summer and the parking lots fill up early. Plenty of hikes and trails but check with the ranger station about closures. Hiked to scouts landing which is strenuous but doable, the more well known Angels landing is a little further from scouts but can be packed (2hr wait on the day we were there. Angels is not for the faint of heart :P
My first time & was Amazing! Great time, beautiful views & fun if you love the outdoors & are active. Highly worth the trip
Very beautiful!!! We took the Kolob park trail which is north or Zion national park. It’s the perfect place to hike which the family...including our 5 year old daughter
Wonderful landscape!! Traffic rules in Zion Canyon is the best!! (More than grand Canyon, Yosemite,Joshua) Frequent shuttle buses, many parking lots.
Very well organized and beautiful. There are shuttle buses that take you to the main trail points. They pass every few minutes. While you make the tour in the bus, you can hear about the history of the place and the most iconics views. I recommend going there early in the morning, in order to be able to park is a shuttle stop. The trails are beautiful. Definitely will come back again.
The beauty of the canyon itself is amazing but unfortunately all the restrictions and expenses make it less enjoyable. I remember when you could drive through yourself and have your vehicle accessible but now you have to shuttle everywhere so make sure you do t forget anything in your pack.
Great National park! Trails for everyone to enjoy. Great shuttle ride as well for those that font want to walk it. 1 day here is not enough time. I will return to do Angels landing.
One of the most beautiful places I've seen. If your looking for Gods beauty come here
I couldn't give you more than 5 star. This is one of the best place to visit. Plan for whole day trip. Beautiful hikes
This is one of the most spectacular locations on the planet! I would highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this beautiful place. It's easy to feel close to God here.
Words can't express the beauty here and photos can't do it justice! God is amazing and His handy work is on display here.
Amazing spot to hike and get away, just avoid summer months as it is slammed with tourists but you can work around them. Hit the BLM camping in Hurricane which is free and next door! Hurricane. UT is a chill little town to resupply or get you need and the campsites are spot on.
Loved every part of it. Park is maintained very well. Free shuttles in the park as well as in the city (Springdale). Hiking through the Narrows was amazing. Local people were very polite and welcoming.
It does get hot so make sure to bring lots of water. Their trails are nice, if you want to get in extra walking walk from the Zion Lodge to the 6th Stop using the trail that goes to the 'Picnic Area' near the bus stop maps. The good parts of the trails are at the destination, not the journey.
Beautiful National Park with awesome unique geological features. They have made an effort to preserve the pristine experience and provide a free shuttle service in the park departing from the Visitor Center. I recommend bringing water great for the last stop so you can water in the river and experience the Narrows.
The narrows.. Pretty unique hike .. Great way to cool off on a hot summer day. The further up you go, the less crowded it will be.
True to it's name, the ribs and chops being the feature, were well prepared. Other offerings looked good too, but I had a perfect pork chop.
A sanctuary. River walk is beautiful and done with ease. To hike into the narrows need to have waterproof boots and pants to enjoy
My favorite NP... Breathtaking views no matter where you look. The shuttle system keeps the canyons scenic so your views aren't hijacked by lines of cars or parking lots
This is one of the most beautiful US National park that I have visited. The amazing rock formations, the different shades of colors of the mountains and plateaus. The scenic driving routes it offers are amazing. Plenty of activities for the adventurous and also for those who just want to relax and appreciate mother nature. Will i go back? Definitely YES!
It's our first time there. We got there around 8 am. We decided to try out The Narrow and Virgin River. We enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend to everyone experience this.
nice place, rent shoes for $25 near to the visitor center. park your car near visitors center and use the free shuttle to The Narrows and Angle Point
Oh Zion. What can I say about this wonderful place? Upon entering the park your eyes are treated to breath taking views and stunning mountain vistas. Between the clear blue skies, the red rocks and snatches of green is the real gem of the park. A sense of serenity away from everyone else. But boy does the park get hot in the summer though. Be sure to bring lots of water. And watch out for tons of tourists.
Amazing wonderful views of one of the greatest spots on earth. Angels landing, observation point, the narrows. What's not to love?
Start your hikes before 7am in the summer and you will have a great time! I did Angel's Landing and luckily it was overcast by the time I got to the top at 9am and I stayed for two hours because of how beautiful it was
A beautiful place, I am truly excited to visit again, hopefully sooner than later. The only issue I had at times was the crowd. But I still loved it so much! If you ever get the chance to make it out there, just understand it will be crowded.
Love Zion's!!! So beautiful, and a great mixture of hikes for the whole family of all ages. If you don’t want to hike there is the tunnels you can drive through as well. Always a great time there. Parking can be a little crazy and shuttle lines can be a little long, but that is to be expected at any state park.
Worth going back to time and time again. Busy times are definitely summer so if you want a smaller crowd, go during the springtime
It’s a fantastic place. Completely breathtaking. All the view and the points are very beautiful. The buses run all the times and very frequently. The river at the end is really beautiful. The only problem you might face is if you go little late in a weekend or holiday, parking might be full and closed.
One of my favorite national parks. It just leaves you wanting more. Definitely want to come back for a long trip and just hike and explore- there's so much to see.
Probably the greatest national park I've ever visited. The Narrows and Angels' Landing are a must if you're into hiking. Also, Emerald Pools is a great shorter hike. The Canyon Overlook Trail is also an amazing way to get the height of Angels' Landing without the trek. I don't recommend bringing small children along to that one.
Loved it. Only thing to take care is the heat. Take lots of water when hiking. Also, the shuttle service in the park is really good.
Ahmaazzzing. Need to come back again to do more and see more. Seriously, try to get to every stop and see everything you can
Absolutely spectacular. Most Majestic park I have been to (I have been to many). This is one to be seen before we leave this planet. The drive on hwy 9 all the way to hwy 89 is worth the trip! Just out of this world beautiful place!
Beautiful and breathtaking. A hikers paradise. Rock cliffs hundreds of feet above you
Excellent scenery’s, Beautiful National Park, We love visiting here. Well worth it. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
Very beautiful and worth visiting. I think everyone should experience Zions National Park at least once, but more if possible. There is so much to see and do.
Gorgeous! Ranger told us about a rock slide and how to get to Observation Point. Well worth the added drive. Angels Landing was amazing. I did climb the chains to the top and slice to tell about it.
We really didn't plan I'm driving through so really didn't know what to expect ended up spending hours driving and stopping I'm taking pictures..... We had an absolute blast the tunnel is pretty amazing I'm just too cool experience... If you're in the area and have the time I totally recommend driving through
A lot to see in the park. Shuttle buses were quick to take you around. Enough amenities to make it a great stay and not a tourist trap.
We hiked the Narrows...the water was freezing already by the middle of September but it was an amazing hike. We also enjoyed the shuttle ride...there was so much information given on the ride.
The most enchanting national park I've been to in the US. The lovely visitor center and camp ground is situated in the heart of the canyon landscape. There are plenty of day hikes to take as well.
Natural beauty surrounds you. Park Service does well in maintaining the park. Good food options and restroom facilities. Shuttle service is good.
Purely amazing park! Breathtaking scenery. The staff are also super friendly. Shuttle are quick and easy. Perfect place with not much confusion. Only problem was hard to find parking.
It's an awesome park. Go. Also make sure to use the shuttle, driving and parking is limited in the park. Do Angels Landing and the Narrows.
Stayed in the lodge and it was gorgeous. The restaurant was a bit slow and the food was good but could be better. The breakfast buffet was the best meal.
Beautiful park! The folks at the visitor's center provided helpful information. I wish the park shuttles had doors at the front and the back (everyone had to shuffle off and back on to let folks get off where they needed to), but the service is efficient.
Beautiful, but but busy even on a weekday, so be prepared to share the views with a lot of other people. The buses that you are required to take in the north end of the park are also not air conditioned and I'm not sure what kind of disability access they have, but my sister who has trouble with stairs had to go up and down steep stairs on the bus.
Great place and lot of things to explore. This place at least deserves a complete two day visit if not three
We love Zion! It is such a beautiful drive through the park in the evening when the sun is setting. Angel's landing hike is a must do!
Beautiful but victim of its own success, it is packed with tourists all day, every day... Be prepared to wait to take the shuttle anywhere in the park. Also, unless you arrive early in the morning, you will have to park in the town and pay an extra $15-20...
We went there at the end of September. Stunning park. The first day we got there around 11-12, and the amount of people was enormous. The next day we arrived at 8 and we truly enjoyed our time and scenery.
Hands down the most beautiful National Park I have visited till date. I love hiking and Zion is a hikers paradise. The free shuttle inside the park is awesome and runs frequently. Will definitely visit again.
One of the best areas to see the canyon. Do check the temperature, as it can drop quickly as winds blow hard close to sundown
Breathtaking views. Good trails for all levels of hiking. Shuttle system is very efficient. Will be back!
Angels landing Zion, amazing, you have to see what is there because I can't find the word to explain. I can say only amazing, beautiful, perfect!!!
Absolutely loved this place!! Very clean, fun for all ages, lots of wildlife, lots of fun!! A must see for everyone
Beautiful. We went through Angels Landing Trail. It gets more and more impressive as you go higher and higher. The top is stunning as well. Might be very windy at top, stay alert. Highly recommend this trail.
The Zion National Park is wonderful, buses leave every 15 minutes every station. What shocked me a little, were the trails, because they were built like the pedestrian paths made of cement. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with nature anymore.
No words to describe this park... This should be a natural wonder on Earth. The NPS is doing a fantastic job in managing and regulating traffic in the park
Gorgeous views everywhere you look. Make sure you bring sunscreen and a water bottle. There are stations with Zion spring water that you can fill your water bottle with for no cost. Shuttle comes often and if you're lucky and get the shuttle operator by the name of Dall, you'll be in for a treat. His narration and stories made the shuttle trip extra special. We will definitely have to go back one day!
Absolutely amazing experience hiking. I recommend this to everyone able to hike, even just driving through the park is an amazing experience.
Make sure to go in the early spring or late fall as it gets hot down here! It’s beautiful, especially driving through there at night to the hotel then waking up to it all, but be careful there’s not a lot of light at night.
Amazing looking place with a mix a easy to hard trails with pretty colors. There’s always an amazing view every turn of the way
AMAZING NATURAL PARK. You will open your jaw when you enter and close it after you leave there is so much to see. Just arrive here early on or you may have a problem with parking. You have to take the bus. Cars are not allowed to enter the Canyon. Bus is free and goes very often.
I like the color of the streets across the way from the start until the top, unique, rare. no where else...., tunnel were amazing, also liked the way they manage traffic in the tunnels - the last car on one way is given a small signal rod to hand over to the volunteer on the other side of the tunnel
Zion is awesome. Narrows hiking was really awesome and some small hikes were also great. Some closures because of landslides was unfortunate, but can't be helped!
Such amazing scenery, but some challenges. This is the most crowded of the big five parks. The traffic though the tunnel is pretty awful. 4 of 19 walking/hiking trails are closed due to rock falls, so that means that each trail is even more crowded. After 7 National Parks in 2 1/2 weeks, this is our least likely to repeat, despite the amazing rock formations.
Parking is a real problem here and you may well have to park outside the park itself - $20 seems to be the going rate (then take the free shuttle bus or walk to the pedestrian entrance). The walk up the gorge at the end of the shuttle route is beautiful (but gets busy). The Lodge in the middle of the route has a good restaurant with plenty of choice at reasonable prices.
Amazing views. Lots of trails. Some easy and some difficult. Plan to go back.
This section of Zion is right along Interstate 15 and is like driving in the Grand Canyon. There are awesome sights from the road and a few short trails to also enjoy the plants and fresh air.
A must to visit/ hike! low on parking please prepare for high traffic. Shutter available every 15 minutes which is awesome. Please bring a lot of water, they also have water spot to fill before hiking
One of the best National Parks we've been to. Will absolutely be returning! So many options for hiking, biking, and swimming. The park rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is well maintained and clean!
Zion is an incredible national park. It almost feels like a different planet! We enjoyed hiking the different trails, especially through the narrows. I love this park so much I've been there twice ;-) Bring lots of water and try to get into the park early, as it's an extremely popular park.
First of all, the fee that you pay ($35) is good for 7 DAYS. Also, it will get you into other State parks for NO EXTRA FEE ..! Zion is truly BEAUTIFUL, even if your not a Nature kind of person, you will find something here that you absolutely Love... Highly recommended....
Gorgeous. Everything is gorgeous. Be safe on the hikes! On Angels Landing it helps to communicate with others to make sure everyone can pass through the single file slots without too much difficulty.
Every time I go, I feel like I am on a trek through the Lost World. The canyon is carved through and surrounded by a high desert plateau. Once inside its walls, you are plunged into the cool humidity of the Virgin River. Sheets of ferns covering the walls.
Dream vacation fulfilled! The park is wonderful, I only wish other visitors were more mindful of the rules; such as no feeding or interacting with wildlife and staying on the trails/avoiding stepping in certain areas.
Zion is an incredible national park. Breathtaking views, hiking, mountain biking, camping, and climbing are all available. The shuttle system that takes you from spot to spot for hikes is nice. The visitor center is large and they have a nice gift shop. Bathrooms are good. They have a water spigot at most of the bus stops in town as well as at the park visitor center. I hiked Angel's landing which was awesome and terrifying, but the view was worth it. We also hiked the narrows which is a super iconic hike. Make sure you bring plenty of water and snacks and gear you don't mind getting wet. Both trails were very busy which makes sense since they are the most popular trails. The only downside to this park is how busy it is and it makes sense how busy it is given how beautiful the park is. Even if you don't like busier parks I would definitely still put this on your bucket list of parks to go to.
This is a wonderful park to visit! Hiking trails for everyone, rock climbing, and biking trails. Saw a lot of families visiting. Shuttle service into the park and parking outside of park available, which is good. No parking in the park when we went.
Absolute greatest experience for a first timer. Girl from the city and well enjoyed every nook and cranny of it all!
This is an absolutely gorgeous place. The views are stunning in every direction, and the somewhat curvy highway running through it is smooth. We loved our time in Zion, including hiking the Narrows (river hike) and other hikes. RECOMMENDED
One of the best parks I’ve visited. The park staff is very helpful and super organized.
Hiked Angel's Landing. It was amazing. A lot of people in the park, but even in tight spaces, people from all over the world we're compassionate and caring. A small taste of what the world should be like. Great place to hike.
It's a great place to visit, very historical, biblical one. Our family had a great visit, the water is cold, and the falls bike experience. The free bus ride, very enjoyable!
One of the best national parks i have visited. All the hiking trials are moderate expect Angels Landing. That hiking trail to me was intense. But I enjoyed it. Hotels can be price near by, it's better to search nearby cities. You won't regret the trip. I prefer early winter less crowded and beautiful sunsets.
Impressive place. And an incredible National Park must be seen. The view and rock geological formations brings you to a place of peacefully and tranquility for the soul.
Love the beautiful vistas of seemingly every variety! Easy to moderate to difficult hikes. Shuttle service to keep traffic to a minimum. Just a fantastic place to spend your free time!
The most beautiful national park I have ever been to! So much to do you will need multiple days to do everything! Angels Landing, the Narrows, and Weeping Rock are definitely worth checking out! Arrive early to get good parking!
The park itself was busy. I did the Angel's Landing hike and I was not disappointed. It was a very strenuous hike. Lots of uphill and not a lot of flat spots to rest. Also plan on dealing with a fair amount of people of varying ablilty on the trail. I passed some and was passed by others. Bring water!! I packed 2 liters and went through almost all of it. Bring a snack for either scouts landing or the top. You are gonna want to take a break. I had a blast doing it. It took me about 3 hours start to finish, and that is being an experienced hiker. If you are not that in shape or are not acclimated to the altitude, plan on it taking a bit longer. It was worth it.
Awesome experience . The Narrows!! So refreshing so beautiful so majical. Perfect photo opportunities everywhere!
Such a beautiful place and so many options in such a small area! We've done hikes, returned, rode bikes, and just drive through the fun tunnel. One of my favorite places in Earth!
This is truly the most beautiful place i've ever seen. Lot's of hike trials and everything is very well organized with the buses. Not that crowded either.
AMAZING. If there were even 1/2 the people I would spend the summer. This place is awesome. We were just at arches national and I would call it amazing. Zion is awesome.
Love the beautiful mountains and other natural features. Park is well-maintained, staff is friendly. I go regularly and always have a great time. Watchman trail is a great hike if you are short on time.
Unfortunately there was a rock crumble and the place was packed so I was only able to grab these photos from the side of the road. But the trip through the park was outstanding. I would love to go back when I have more time. I love Zion!
Beautiful place that’s hurt by overpopulation. It’s bummer there’s so many people on the earth and so little space, but it’s a beautiful place and they take conservation and preservation seriously which is appreciated by all who come!
Really cool drive through the park. The tunnel was really cool and impressive!
Beautiful scenery. We took the shuttle and then took a hike. Saw some deer. Great shuttle service and lots of hiking opportunities.
If you are on short trip, then take the ride across the mountains. If you can spend time, take a hike to the narrows. Both are extremely beautiful.
This place is truly remarkable. Pictures don't do it justice! Do anglers landing hike! Only down side is that it's quite busy in August when I was there. Also it can be very intimidating.
I absolutely love this place! There is so much to learn and the hikes are some of the best I've ever been on, especially angels landing!
Beautiful place!! We hiked to the Emerald Pools and they were really pretty, then we drove to caramel mountain and went through the 1.1 mile long tunnel, made back in 1930!! If you are in the area it's a must see, ans get a fanny pack from the gift shop!
Beautiful national park, so well organized and awesome shuttles network.. Even at 110°f and long weekend, Zion staff was at there best and made sure people visiting have great experience. Kudos to them
Awesome. No other words to describe it. Wish I could have spent more time here. All the trails, sights, and experiences were great. Can't wait to go back!
Definitely a world wonder! What beautiful nature with the rock formations. Nice hiking and walking trails! Great organization with the shuttles that run constantly at the stops making it easy to get around the park.
One of natures most remarkable creations. To truly experience this place, make sure you have plenty of time and plan ahead to make sure the best trails are open. Hiking the subway and the Narrows will be a life-changing experience. Make sure you have the right gear.
Gorgeous mountain landscapes. Beautiful views points of it all. Waterfalls and wildlife. The hikes are steep! Not impossible but if your novice.... be prepared!
So beautiful. Get there early to park near the visitor centers. We had no trouble with parking or the shuttles, but showing up in late September probably helped that. And seriously, get there early.
Great place to hike! The narrows is a must hike no matter how far you take it. We didn't try Angel's landing, a little too steep for us.
This is an amazing place to visit. The views are breathtaking. The park is well kept and the shuttle service makes it easy to get to the trails. Go early if you are doing Angel's landing. Gets very busy on this trail
Most beautiful National Park I've ever seen! Even though there were lots of people (labor day), we loved it!
Amazing place with lots of great hikes. Park staff are really nice and helpful. Great place to go camping
Most popular national Park in Utah next to Arches. Beautiful rock formations and incredible scenic views. However, it is starting to get busier and busier each year. Lots of people.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen; and I have seen a lot. So many wild animals to see. Great trails for hiking
Zion is red rocks with some greenery. Pretty cold at the narrows even in summer morning. Better to wear a jacket and get some water shoes
Zion is an oasis in the desert. If you've been to Bryce, the car touring was done from the top of the plateau looking down. At Zion, it's the opposite. You are at the bottom of the narrow gorge looking up. And it's all about the hikes. Definitely get an early start. July 22, we arrived at 6 AM. Although we were able to find parking in the Visitor Center lot, it was getting pretty full. We had to wait for the 6:30 AM (3rd shuttle of the day) because there was already a decent line. By noon, when we got back to the Visitor Center, the line for the shuttles was well over on hours wait. Some folks decided to take the trail and hike in rather than wait. The views are well worth any waits, but make sure you are prepared: plenty of water, comfortable shoes and clothing, sunscreen, and am empty bladder! We saw plenty of cranky kids, so make sure everyone is well rested and prepared for the day.
It was great. Beautiful. I paid $30 for the two of us. We took the tram up the canyon and got out when we wanted to hike. The town at the entrance has lots of hotels and restaurants.
I knew Zion would be beautiful but I had no idea just how incredible it is. We spent two nights in the park and I wish we had two more at least. Lots to do for all ages and levels. The shuttle system is fantastic and made moving around with a three year old much easier.
Wide variety of hike levels and scenery. Even just riding the tram through the park gets you some pretty great views. Parkings sometimes tough but worth any trouble.
One of the most magnificent national park I've been to. This valley looks like a redhead sister of Yosemite! I totally fell in love with it. I makes sense to have tight sunglasses when hiking over there, to avoid the sand getting into your eyes.
One of the greatest of the great national parks. It should be one everyone's list to see, but just not on the same day we go, please! It is just too popular.
