I brought my mother's 07 Buick Lacrosse in to have a tire replaced and get an alignment. I supplied the tire myself so I just needed it installed. I prefer independent tire shops over the chain stores, so I gave this place a chance...
They told me they couldn't do the alignment without replacing the tie rod ends. They gave me two options, so I chose the better ones. When they were finished the rear wheels looked much straighter, the tire was installed where I requested, and all the tires were properly inflated (they were all either under-inflated or over-inflated before I brought the car in).
I also purchased new rims for my 05 Honda Civic and needed them to swap the tires from the old rims. They got all of them installed (with new valve stems) and I didn't notice any large scratches or scrapes on my shiny new rims.
My one concern when I paid the bill was the price of the tie rods (which they told me up front before installing them). My final bill was almost twice what I was quoted over the phone because I was told I needed them. However, when I went to change the oil on that car (the Buick) I looked at the work that was done. They used the better tie rods as I requested (Moogs - a good brand name), the threads had anti-seize applied, the fittings were greased, and new cotter pins used. So even though I could've paid much less if I bought them myself, I didn't care much since the work they did was very good.
Overall I was happy with my experience and would return there in the future. Aside from the parts, the prices were very reasonable compared to what I've paid elsewhere for the same repairs. They did good work, and they also stayed a little while past closing time to finish the repairs.
