I should have looked at the reviews before calling this place. I had a frozen parking brake visiting the Dells on Saturday morning. The person I contacted said I should be in around 10 and stay till 3. My wife and I went over to the shop and the shop was open, water was running, music playing, but no one in the shop. 10 minutes later I called and the person said, I will call you at your #. I called an hour later and all of a sudden there are 5 people ahead of me and this was around noon and they hung up on me.(seems like a pattern) If you hang up on me, I won't be loyal to you anymore. It's difficult to find a place open on a Saturday afternoon, but I did find a place about 15 minutes away and they treated me very well and had me in and out in a hour. Don't waste your time here and they never returned my call.

Alternator went out on the interstate, was towed to Platt's. At the very end of the day, on a monday, ordered parts and cranked out the job in record time. Cant thank these gentlemen enough for getting us back on the road in our time of need!

Had a slight problem show up with vehicle So I stopped at Walmart a man recommended platts. Called explained the deal he said bring it in so I stopped in. Here’s the thing I seen the reviews and was a little leery but thought he has been in business for a long time so I would give him a chance. Now he looks like the type of guy if you show up with a disrespectful attitude I am sure your going to get one and I don’t blame him one bit. I showed up he was a very nice man and we were both respectful to each other very helpful and was quick to point out that it was a non issue and his opinion was I would be just fine to be on my way. Very thankful to have met him seen his shop and leave this review. My advice be respectful ask questions and be thankful. Thank you platts!!

I was visiting the Dells from Chicago for a sales meeting and my car broke down. The guys at Platt's garage did everything they could to help me out. They went beyond regular custiomer service. They found a way to fix my car and saved me hundreds of dollars. I would recommend anyone that has car problems to make Platt's Garage thier first call. Driving to Automotion with two bikes (Ducati and R6), a car, and a Jeep. I'm driving the Jeep. Bryce is driving my Ducati; I told him he had to drive carefully, so he was. As soon as we get to the Dells, 3 squad cars immediately surround us and block off the road. I'm confused, because we hadn't been speeding. Turns out an off-duty homicide investigator was following us for the last 20 miles and was radioing in other officers to pull us overbecause the R6 was driving carelessly and the homicide investigator has a personal hatred for bikes. We all pull over, except for the R6, which takes off (note: running from the police is a dumb idea). An officer (don't know his name) pulls Bryce off my Ducati and slams him on the hood of the police car, handcuffs him, and puts him in the back of a squad car, even though Bryce was driving legally and pulled over immediately. He received a ticket for not having a motorcycle endorsement and was released. Officer D. Delmore proceeds to give me $392.90 in fines because he didn't like my Jeep's tires. After that he calls in Platt's Garage to tow my Ducati, even though I said I'd drive it (I own it, I have a motorcycle license, and I have my helmet). Officer J. Temperly (WI State patrol) and the homicide investigator (don't know his name) didn't agree with the towing, but said it was Officer D. Delmore's decision. Delmore said "we're towing everything!" and that was literally his only explanation. I went to Platt's Garage to get my Ducati back that had been towed. It was only 5 minutes away from where we had been pulled over, and was down the road from the police station. It consisted of two fat guys in a tiny ghetto garage who kept saying "give me $300 if you want your bike back!"; no paperwork or ID required. And they insisted on being paid ONLY in cash even though they had a credit card reader. Very sketchy. I've never been shaken down by the mafia before, but that's how it felt like. Fortunately my brother was able to help me out with money and I got my bike back. I don't know how many other people they screwed over with this towing-scam, but I can guarantee that Platt's Garage won't be reporting that cash on their income taxes. And the WI Dells Police Department itself should be investigated by the FBI for corruption because they're illegally collaborating with Platt's Garage to run this for-profit towing scam. I'm hoping other victims of this scam will come forward.

I broke down while visiting Wisconsin Dells on a Sunday, I was able to get a hold of someone at Platts ( I think the number is a cell phone number) and the person told me they would pick up my car early the next morning and take a look at it, I had to rent a car to leave to Chicago as I had to work the next day. I called Platt's Monday morning to check on the status, and the guy said he was busy, and to call him around lunch time, around 11:30 I called again, as now the gas station where my car broke down wanted to know when I was going to get my car out of their parking lot. They person picked up, and just said "We are running late, we'll pick up the car!" and hung up, his tone was rude, and demeaning. I tried multiple times to call back and at this poing he just kept hanging up on my, or sending his cell straight to voicemail. I had to call a different autoshop to come get my car, thank god they did.

We were on our way to a family vacation with a boat being pulled behind. The wheel bearing broke on the trailer leaving us stranded on the interstate. Platt’s was the only place that would answer their phone (we called at least 5 places). We were told how to “patch” the damage to limp our way here, but were not able to so they sent someone out to help us and lead us to the garage. They stayed open to help us! We were offered drinks while we wait. There are a few bad reviews on Platts due to “bad attitudes” and “rudeness”. We did not encounter any of that. I pray this never happens again, but if it does, we will be calling Platts!

They towed our car and went thru it and stole about 130 dollars in a change jar.. Guess you can't trust anyone in the towing business.. Maybe platts themselves didn't steal but maybe one of there workers did... Went from highway right to platts so all signs point to them..

We needed a new tire and tow while at a Dells attraction. The tow operator, Billy, arrived in about 10 minutes. Billy went so far above and beyond what most people would do to help a stranded motorist! Really great service and a nice guy. The tow and tire replacement was reasonably priced and done quickly. In the Dells for the weekend and cracked my rim. They took everything a part and couldn't help because needed a specific part but they did the leg work to help find that part, they wouldn't charge. Came back on a Saturday and they took care of everything and left for home on time. Really went out of their way to help someone that needed it. Highly recommend them in the Dells

hated it so my brand new car caught in two feet of sand right next to a parking lot just know I'm from Adams, And this over weight gentleman named Mike or Mik or whatever.. Charged me $125 he didn't ask how I was going to pay at first he refused to bill it, Took the keys out of my hand and left me and my friend stranded half way across lake Delton just to find out when I get there the price has been raised to $211 and when I got there he was one of the rudest person I've met just to talk about how he wants to fight me but the only thing he's fighting is diabetes. He calls the police just to have them side with me. WORST PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN!!!!!!!

Like the other reviewers commentented, this place is full of jerks. The guys cuss at you and cut you off if they dont agree with what you are saying. They will say things like " Dont piss me off". They tried to scam me and seem to be all about the money. They will quote you at one price and then after putting you back on the road, will double the origional quote. The only reason I got my keys back is because I called the cops, who agreed with me that the situation I was in was " Shady Business". It took them all of 45 seconds to get me back on the road, yet bc I miscalculated where i was at, they tried to scam. I was about 48 inches away from the road and told the dispatcher I was like 2 inches. I wasnt in a ditch or anything either, My tires just couldnt get traction for me to get out. AVOID THIS PLACE.. several others have already called the workers here rude.

They came to look at my company box truck and couldn't do anything to help on the spot so they called the bigger tow truck to come get me, then towed me 30+ miles away to a diesel shop that they told me was the only place that could see me right away. When we arrived the guy unhooked my truck took my $400 and drove away. I went inside and the shop knew nothing about it a refused to look at the truck. So I called Platts back and he refused to come pick me up and take me somewhere else. I've been stranded at this shop now for over 4 hours with nowhere to go.

These people are Absolutely amazing! I want to thank them for all of their help today! Looked at my vehicle right away when i told them i was from out of town and wanted to be sure i was ok to drive home. They heard how my "vacation" was going. And they were sure to take care of things for me and my family. Im greatful for these guys. And i highly recommend them!!

They should not even be in business as they are aggressive and completely rude and unprofessional. By far the worse business I’ve ever had to deal with. A rude and overbearing employee gave me a jump late at night on a back country road because my battery died on my way home and demanded $100 in cash after the jump (wouldn’t accept debit card, check, Venmo or PayPal) he threatened to follow me home and then said he would tow my car while I was in it (and actually tried!) if I didn’t drive into town and go to the ATM at 2AM. Cash only? They should be audited.

Didn't get the name of the guys that helped me but when I found myself in a ditch they were quick to get there and were a pleasure to work with. My truck was just pulled from a ditch so I cannot vouch for their wrenching buy I asked them to drop it so I can easily access the truck bed to remove all of my tools and they did just that. I go to the dells regularly so it is nice to know they are there.

My car start making this strange noise as soon as I pulled into the parking lot at the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort. My family and I had just arrived in town and I was totally mortified because we were more than 400 miles away from home. I immediately started googling car repair shops in the area and I came across Platt's. Since it was late in the day, I took my car first thing the next morning. Marty the mechanic was so helpful, pleasant, efficient, and knowlegable about what was going on with my vehicle which was the brake padding. He had me out of there in less than an hour and my car sounded like brand new at an absolute affordable cost. I would recommend that anyone, whether they are Wisconsin natives or out-of-towners, take their car to Platt's Garage for car repairs and services. Thanks Again Marty!!! -Detroit Lady in Distress

Low tire pressure indicator came on my Lexus it was nearing 5pm, but I took a chance and went to Platt’s. Owner/manager told me to pull it in the garage. He then checked. Nd set the pressure to the correct amount in each tire. Asked him what I owed him and he said nothing! I thanked and headed in back to Kansas. I highly recommend Platt’s they were very friendly and nice!!!

Put a light duty pickup towing a car trailer on the shoulder of Interstate 90 near mile post 88 and, on a recomendation from a friend, contacted Platt's Garage for tow service. They arrived quickly with the appropriate equipment and got me to the next exit. The pricing was appropriate and very fair for immiediate reaponse out of traffic in a construction zone on the weekend. The driver's peformance was creditable and appreciated.

Get a price before using!!! We found out after it was too late! Minimum charge for heavy trucks is $300. His price for us was $600 to pull a truck out - not even a tow. We've worked with many companies before all over the state - and his prices are the most expensive for sure!

This place is ridiculous!!! My friend and I were heading to Wisconsin Dells 3 days ago. My friend was driving, and unfortunately we ran down the ditch. The police came, took a look at our car, and called these guys to come and tow our car. Jesus, I first thought if the police trusted these guys, we would not have to worry too much about the fairness in their pricing. Guess I was wrong, dead wrong. One guy from Platt came, took less than 3 minutes to pull our car out of the ditch, without any explanation, he drove us to their garage. Then one guy gave us a ride to our hotel. We had no ideas what was going on! The next day, my friend's host dad called them to ask about how much we would have to pay, he specifically said it was the yellow bug. The guy from Platt said $150. We were glad to know that, sounded reasonable to us. Yet, the day after that, my friend's host dad came to pick up our car with his trailer, we were shocked ( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to be informed that the bill is $300 (doubled what he told us before). When my friend's host dad asked why there was a difference from what that Platt guy told him, he explained he was mistaking (...) I mean, how could there be a mistake? Our car is the only yellow bug there~!! Oh well, we were too tired to argue so we gave him the credit card. One thing seemed shady to me was that we did not receive any bills (??) My friend only got a copy of the receipt (in the amount of $300) , and nothing else. What made me mad the most was how they handled our car. They needed to lift the car and put it on the trailer. Then they have to remove the things (i don't know what it's called) to let go of our car's tires. They did not even care if they were damaging our car's lower light.. Thank god the plastic part was flexible enough, otherwise it would break by now. And, it's us who have to get them fixed!! I really feel disappointed and frustrated with the way they treated customers. I wish we had some freedom of choices to choose the towing company for ourselves, instead of having the police calling those guys .. Hope other people will be luckier than we were! Just stay away from them.

I was coming from Chicago going back home to Minnesota with a 85' Mustang GT I had picked up in my uncles will. I had broke down outside just west of Milwaukee on I-94. Later that night I was finally towed to Wisconsin Dells where I stayed for a night to get things figured out. The next day I got another tow truck to come pick me and my car up and bring it to platts garage. This was a Saturday and I wanted to see if he could possibly take a quick look at it but he said he was too busy which was fine because he was. So i got a ride and went back to Minnesota. I worked my work week back home and then headed back to get my car after 6 days. Before even leaving the owner hung up and me twice when I was still trying to talk to him and ask him questions. Plus he was never at the shop when I called so he didn't know what was going on ever with my car and he would always say I will have "Marty" the mechanic call you but he never did after 3 days of trying to figure out what was up with my car. At first the owner told me that it was my fuel pump but then the next day I find out it was my ignition module. They were just basically trying to just get off the phone with me when I wanted to figure out what was wrong with my car. I also asked the owner what the total cost was and he just made a guess saying "well it should be about $240 but then I finally got ahold of the mechanic and he let me know the exact price around $180. Whats wrong with these people!???? This was some of the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. So I headed down there that 6 days later which was a 5 hour drive to go pick up my car. When I got there I paid and everything was good with the price and everything except that the mechanic says " Well my other guy who worked on your car just zip tied the new ignition module to the old so its not harnessed, you'll see what I mean when you look under the hood." WTF are you serious?!!!!!!! They are mechanics but they don't know how to do the job right? WOW what a bunch of idiots. I didn't want to deal with anymore of their stupidity so I just left cause I wanted to get back home. It got me back home but the type of service you will get from platts is almost worthless. I would never recommend them to anyone and their name isn't worth capitalizing because they are so petty.

I was told my car's timing belt need to be replaced. I was stuck at Mt. Olympus parking lot. Came quick and told me it will be ready by noon tomorrow for $500 and somebody will take your car to the garage. No details on calling twice. Next day checked out of my hotel at 11 and called them at noon to find out its not ready. Call us at 4pm. At 4pm called in they said it's ready but we will call you and got my no. I was like if ready then why call back. Went there and saw my car on the lift. They didn't have the part yet. Upon asking why we were told otherwise, the guy kept asking my cell no again. I was like tell me when will be my car ready I gotta go back to Chicago. He said take a motel it will be ready tomorrow. Then when checked in they called its ready now. Had to pay for a motel which we didn't use. Then he charged me $615. He was like no that's what you have to pay. Don't Trust these guys.

My husband was on his way home from up north when his truck died called Platt's Garage for tow they were there in 5 minutes. Extremely helpful in getting us in contact for repair. An hour and a half later my husband was back on the road . Great service and awesome customer service!!!

My van broke down at a busy intersection in the Dells over by House of Embers. Steve Robinson towed my van down to a local shop and he was very professional about he handled the situation. He then went above any beyond to help make sure my windows would close and he could get the key out of the ignition before he left. (It was stuck.) These people are crooks!! I had to drive from Milwaukee to pay to get my truck out and they never gave me my key FOB back. They asked me if I had a key without even checking if they had my main key!! I asked them to mail it to me and they LIED!! saying they mailed it.....One month later I had to purchase another FOB from the dealer. I hope this place gets audited for pocketing money and probably not claiming all the cash these crooks take in!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. At first I was very grateful for this company as they came to the rescue when we were in an accident on the interstate. However, after getting my car back from the body shop (where they fixed front impact damage to the front drivers side tire) my car was still not right. Turns out after taking it to the dealership the whole rear transfer case and torque conversion had to be replaced because it had been towed improperly. An AWD vehicle should not be towed with the rear wheels down! Which is how I watched them tow my vehicle away! You think a towing company would know this! Thankfully the work was covered under my power train warranty or a bigger deal would have been made for sure.

I went today because one of my tires pick up a nail everything went well it was fix in no time but when it was time to pay he told me is 20 dollars i ask him if card was accepted bud he say cash was better so i hand him 100 when he come back with my change he only give me 70 back so i told him you say it was 20 than he say its 30 way to rub your customers i will never go back to this business ever again.

I drove 6 hours to Wisconsin Dells, and as soon as I got there I blew a tire right across from out hotel (Kalahari Resorts). I couldn't get one of the lug nuts off (It was different and I didn't have the converter) so my spare tire wouldn't work. Mark came and towed my car, dropped us off at our hotel, and had it fixed within a day. He found a decent used tire that matched the rest of my tires, worked very well and was super affordable. Only $160 for the tow, tire, and labor. Pretty awesome.
