I had purchased some Michelin tires from Rinderle in November of 2014. In February 2017, I felt that the tires had excessive tread wear for the mileage on them and stopped in to show them the tires and talk about contacting Michelin for warranty coverage. The person that I spoke with at Rinderle simply walked outside, looked at my worn tires and told me that the excessive tread wear was due to my vehicle being AWD, and that he would never purchase an AWD vehicle. He also said that there was no point in contacting Michelin because they would tell me the same thing about the AWD and would not help with replacement tires.
This guy never asked my name, looked up my records, checked my paperwork, or even verified the mileage on my vehicle. I guess that he couldn't be bothered and simply blew off my concerns. He then proceeded to try and sell me some new tires!
Since I wasn't too happy with that result, I went home and contacted Michelin customer service myself, explaining how rude and dismissive Rinderle had been and what my issue was with my tires. I also told Michelin that I wasn't too keen on going back to Rinderle due to their lack of motivation to address my concern.
Michelin promptly contacted Pomp's Tire Center on Donges Ct. in Milwaukee and arranged for me to take my vehicle there for inspection. I took it there and spoke with Adams who agreed with my assessment of the tire wear. Adams then spoke with Michelin and arranged for a pro-rated tire price on four new tires within an hour of my visit to Pomp's. And Michelin did stand behind their product warranty with no hassle or disagreement, and then followed through with a fair solution, unlike what I was told to expect by Rinderle.
So my advice would be to avoid this place like the plague because they are dismissive, rude, and too lazy to do their job. When I was there, the place looked like a ghost town, and apparently for good reason. The attitude and unsolicited opinions about my choice of vehicle were unprofessional and uncalled for, and they were not honest about Michelin's excellent warranty coverage.
If you need tires, save yourself some gas, a long drive, and a crummy experience and just go directly to Pomp's and talk to Adams for some great customer service. And Michelin also deserves kudos for unquestionably honoring their warranty agreement. I'll be buying my Michelin tires at Pomp's from now on!
