I take good care of my big rig, but I cant do it alone!! Love this place. Mark n Troy and all of em keep my car up to par. Been going there 3 yrs- worth the drive. I have 151 thou miles on my car, so things always need attention. They find every thing that needs fixing. Thats a good thing! I drive all over Seattle for my job, so have to have it running smoothly. Thanks guys!

I failed an emissions test. I took the test print outwith the failed check points to Rick's and the guy with a blank face said I would "burn up my engine" driving it like this. For a few engine codes like misfires and O2 sensor? Hardly. I felt like he was trying to scare me into getting a lot of work done. The classic scamming mechanic move. Would not recommend this shop.

We've been using Rick's probably for the the past decade for various needs, car in inspection, oil changes, buying tires and most recently for my BMW, diagnosed with coil problem and fixed in half a day. They are always quick, fair and communicate very well. Trust needs to be earned.I trust Rick's!

I haven't gotten work done yet, but when I called, I was told it costs $100 to hook my car up to a smoke machine to diagnose a P043E leak in the evaporative system. Has anyone else had to pay $100 to hook a car up to the machine? I was told this is a minor problem, so I'm shopping around to see if I can find a mechanic with a smoke machine that doesn't charge me $100 right out of the gate.

I brought my car in for a weird light on the dash, which turned out to be that I needed to have a break service done on my car. I started asking about other general maintenance, as I was close to my 60,000 mile tuneup and was provided with an estimate for the service and a clear explanation of what is contained in the service and why it was necessary After doing some comparison shopping,, I decided to come back and get my car serviced at Ricks. They made me feel comfortable and took the scary factor out of getting my car worked on.

I went twice, first because i couldn't get a top nut spun down on a front shock. Rick himself tried to spin it down with no luck. They told me the strut was defective and no charge. Thanks, very cool of them. They said after i get the struts on come back for an $99 alignment. So I did, after all morning they call and tell my inner tie rod ends are bad and it will be just shy of $500 to replace them. I looked online and a kit that has both tie rods inner and outer and both ball joints for $48 bucks. So I tell them I can't afford that and they charge me $45 for telling me my inner tie rods are bad and did no alignment. So for not playing ball on the upsell they hit you with a fee and send you on your way. Thing is my car has 400,000 miles nothing is perfect on it....nothing. One could argue to replace about any part on my car. It's no way to do business. update, I went across the street to les schaub and they don't charge for inspections.

For simple things, there is a local shop I go to but for anything else, I drive the 40 miles to Ricks because they always get it right the first time. They've fixed things other shops couldn't. If I'm thinking of buying a car, Rick's sees it first. They are masters at their craft.

This place has no respect for customers I’m selling my car to someone and we want to diagnose the car and they are not letting me in and being so rude and overpriced don’t waste your time and your money here there are many places that better than them with less money it was my first and last time here!. If they find anything unanticipated, they call to get specific permission to do the work. They are always able to fit us in if there is a quick fix problem that needs to be corrected. It started with a recommendation from a work colleague and since then I've been taking our cars to these guys for about 4 or 5 years and they're excellent. Just so straightforward and willing to educate the consumer. No pressure, no run-around. And now that my household has a bit of a 'relationship' with them, I can call and ask their advice about anything automotive (ie. trailer springs, snow tires, tire pressure, auto upholstery repair or auto detailing recommendations, etc). A couple years back I was in the market for a used car and I talked to Mark and Troy about it and asked their advice; they totally steered me in the right direction -- away from a brand that requires a lot of maintenance!! That's basically money out of their till (fewer repairs). But I think they have just a really simple approach to customer service which is to be straight and make it right. No gender bias intended here, but I'll even send my wife over for this or that, knowing that she'll be well treated. And I love that they race cars for fun and competition; even when they're off the clock, they're all about the car. For as long as I'm in Seattle, these'll be our auto mechanics.

I was distraught before arriving due to the damage my vehicle was going through soon as I walked in I had an individual I believe named TROY running to rescue. He got to the bottom of my issue quickly had my car up and running even had a gentlemen Rodrigo bring me coffee. Been there a several times. Went there for an oil change before. Was like $50 the first time. Went there again. Asked for the same service it came out to like $100. I was like this is more than the last time. They said they put full synthetic in it and also rotated the tires. I did not ask and they did not ask permission to rotate my tires (whether they needed it or not is not the point). I was in the lobby waiting. Be careful, they will tell you you need something when you dont. I didnt want to deal with it. had my rear drum brakes changed there also, pads were thin ao needed to be done. But now they leak fluid. Ive got other work done there and regret every penny i spent (or they took unnecessarily) . I don't trust them. Bottom line. Never going back.

I am very weary of bringing my car anywhere else except the dealerships because of sketchy business practices I have dealt with before. I was referred to Rick's Auto Service from another company, and was nervous about bringing my car in, but I will say I was extremely impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was how friendly the owners (two brothers I believe) were. They also were very informative about what services they provided, and explained in detail what I should be on the look out for in the next few months. You could tell they love taking care of cars, and genuinely cared about mine. That is real service! I will definitely make this my go to shop moving forward.

My car broke down right before Thanksgiving. I walked into Rick's Tire & Services Inc. and asked for them to look at my car. They said they couldn't look that day due to their schedule but would look tomorrow. I couldn't wait so he offered to jump my car for me so I could get it fixed sooner somewhere else. He then realized it was the battery when my car wouldn't jump and took the time out of his busy day to fix it right then and there. This was the worst day and I appreciated being put first. This is the place to get your service. They found the wheel bearing that needed replaced when dealer couldn't even hear it. They found and reconnected a loose solenoid wire when the dealer would only replace it. Very knowledgeable. Very professional.

One of the BEST auto service experiences I have had in years. I took my car in, not running, and asked them to do what it takes to get it roadworthy again. They called back with a detailed list and quote....and called back with updates and progress reports every few days. The car now runs as new, and Rick's came in well under budget. this place is located right next to the emissions place and they get a lot of business, I think, from people who fail the test. I'm pretty sure if they didn't charge for diagnostics they would get a ton of ppl looking for free diagnostics with no intention of paying for any services. they treated me right, were helpful, and were quite well versed in the process of registering a non-compliant vehicle.

I've been going to Rick's Tire and Service for over 20 years. As a car enthusiast who has owned dozens of personal cars and a former car dealer, I can say with certainty that Troy is the best diagnostic technician I have ever worked with. I had a Chevy S10 that two other shops failed to diagnose correctly, costing me me hundreds of dollars in wasted time and materials. It took a few days, but Troy figured it out correctly and got the truck back on the road for less than than either of the previous two shops who failed to correct the problem. Beyond that, Rick's tire diagnosed and repaired a short in the wiring harness of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was hard to find as well as an intermittent ignition problem in my 77 Trans Am. There have been many other repairs they have made for me and I have always been treated well. As a dealer, I had cars in repair shops on an almost daily basis. Fixing cars is expensive and time consuming, and I feel the bill at Rick's has always been fair. If anything, it has usually been slightly less than what I would have expected. I live in Kirkland, so getting a vehicle to Seattle isn't the most convenient, but it's worth the extra time and effort to have the peace of mind Mark and Troy bring tot he table. I can't give them a high enough recommendation.

When I became a car owner I started taking my vehicles to Rick's because of the great service they always gave my dad and the way they helped us take care of our family cars growing up. Building off of this, and because the mechanics are friendly and communicative and reliable, I developed a relationship with the shop and the guys who work there. Recently I purchased my current car from one of the mechanics there who talked me through the work he had done on it and has been a great help during my ownership of the car. I have never experienced anything there but friendliness, honesty, and fairness. And speedy turnaround time. And they definitely always stand by their work and do the right thing by their customers. I recommend the shop to everyone I know in Seattle, even if they live comparatively far away. If you live within limping or towing distance of Rick's you will not be disappointed.

I went in for a transmission Flush today. I talked with one of the mechanics there, explaining it felt like tranny was slipping He went the extra step afterward, explaining should not be a problem at only 33,000 miles. He investigated further and discovered there is actually an existing recall on my transmission. Then he went on to recommend I go to Snohomish Bickford Ford. Of course I went, and now have everything set up to repair my vehicle. THANK YOU TROY for going that extra mile for me! Thank you to everyone at Rick's, just for being awesome!

I have had several cars fixed there and am some what of a mechanic myself. These guys are really good, fair , smart , very reasonably cheaper then most of there competition and,knowing Mark for a while they are not Raciest. I after reading the negative reviews can tell that they have a giant chip on there shoulders,kick me sign on there backs,are looking to get something for nothing or there actually RACIST. I know these guys and I call B.S.
