Second time I've used University Tire in Orange, both times have been exceptional. Today my 2016 Suburban failed inspection due to tires, I called around for prices and availability. The only place that could provide "out the door" pricing and that had my size tire in stock was University Tire in Orange. Not only did they have my size, they also had several options to choose from. Furthermore, when I called back to say that I would take them, Ken told me to come on down and he would get it done in about an hour. Sure enough, an hour later I was riding out on a set of new tires. I had the same experience a few years ago with them, so I know it's not by chance. Ken is fantastic, his quote was accurate - I was out the door for the price quoted. Other places will give you a price and then add some disclaimer, like disposal and tax are extra. Highly recommend - if you are looking for new tires, you have to call University Tire in ORANGE - Ken will take care of you and you'll happy write a similar review to help others as well.

Every time I go to Orange University Tire the employees are so nice! They have a very comfortable waiting room. One time when I was getting a checkup they brought the air filter in to show me how dirty it was so that I wouldn’t feel they were replacing it unnecessarily. This last time they had a driver take me where I needed to go so that I could keep my appointment instead of waiting for the car. I definitely recommend this place!

This was the best experience that I've ever had at an auto repair shop. I came in for a state inspection. Kevin greeted me and had me in the waiting area in o time. He offered me coffee and told me that they would have my car in, in just a few minutes. Within about 20 minutes, he came and told me that my car passed inspection but that I would need tires very soon. He had already prepared an estimate with a few different sets of tires available. I decided to go ahead and purchase the tires because this was my day off, I had time and my time is important. They installed the tires in less time that he estimated. Kevin checked on me and others in the waiting area to see "if we needed anything", offered to make us coffee or hot chocolate. The waiting area was clean, the WI-FI is a nice touch and Maury on the television made us guests laugh. Thank you for being so attentive to your customers.

THE ONLY REASON I CAME BACK TO THIS LOCATION IS KEVIN POWELL......I had some less than stellar visits in the past. I recently came in and was very rudely treated by the gentleman at the counter. When I couldn't hear something that he said, he raised his voice to me and was very short in answering my questions. As I was leaving, Kevin saw me and could tell that I was less than happy. He followed me outside, listened to my complaint and was very apologetic. He gave me a card and made sure that I understood my repairs. He made me feel like a customer and not someone that was just rushed through the system as I felt with the other guy at the counter. I will be back only because Kevin took the time to listen and treated me like a human being. I will only deal with him and if he is not there on the day that I come in, I will not do business there until he is.

The manager is a BAD DUDE......He was like one of my old Drill Sargent's from my military days. The place was packed with last minute idiots like myself to get an inspection. He was running around as the only guy on the counter writing cars up. When he had them all written up, he yelled in the back area for his technicians. Apparently he had to do it twice and wasn't amused. When they came to the front, he was giving the guys tickets, telling them how much time they had to work on them, what time it was now and giving them marching orders.....I had to laugh but efficiency is a good thing and before you know, he was coming to get customers who's cars were finished. A well oiled machine. From one "Grunt" to another, I enjoyed the show and my car was done in less than the time that he told me it would be. Good Job Soldier...LOL

These are the type of people who see a woman come in and think she doesn’t know anything about cars and try to scam her. I went in for an inspection. I had recently been rejected for my door. I got into a car accident where I was hit by a tractor trailer, so my driver door didn’t have mirror glass in the sideview mirror, no window glass, and I had to use the inside handle to open the door. So I got ALL of that fixed, and then took it to get inspected at university tire cause the place I had originally gone to wasn’t able to inspect it the day I absolutely had to have it inspected. I sit there waiting for 2 and a half hours for the car to be inspected and finally get called to the counter just to be told my car had been rejected for a little rust on my rotors (I’m serious. A little.) I was the one who replaced my rotors six months ago so I knew that couldn’t have been factual. When I got home I checked my rotors and they seriously had the smallest amount of rust on them and it would’ve been cleaned off after a little more driving. The other thing they denied it for was the airbag light didn’t cut on when it started. This also made no sense to me considering no one else in the history of owning my car has said anything about it. They immediately started trying to get me to have them fix it talking about “we will have to tear your entire dash apart to see if it’s just a bulb and that’ll be around an hour and a half of labour” That right there did it for me. I knew they were just trying to scam me out of my money. Either way, first of all I found out my airbag light isn’t even in the traditional spot. It’s next to the steering wheel. It has its own little spot that has the airbag light and tells whether or not the passenger airbag is on. I took it back to the original place that rejected it the first time later that day cause a friend of mine works there and managed to fit me in, and lo and behold, my car got passed. Don’t go here. They’re money hungry and liars and literally delete negative reviews on google so that they look better.

A little while back I went in to get 4 new tires. The price was really reasonable. After they were finished I paid and was walking out the guy at desk stopped me and said I needed my brake fluid and antifreeze changed. I asked them why he replied they saw it looked dirty. A week before I went in to get tires I had put new brake lines and brake fluid on my truck and also flushed my radiator and added new radiator fluid . I first asked why they were under hood during a tire change then I told him about the radiator flush and new brake lines I had just done. He then told me he figured I needed that done considering the age of my truck (2008 model) then he walked into a office and shut the door. I've heard a lot of bad things about them since this happened. I believe it's a lot more of this going on there then just what I saw. If you're in the orange area and need something done try a more honest place such as Dawson's tire or Altman tire. DO NOT GO TO University tire.

We were 700 hundred miles from home in our RV when we got progressively worse leak in our rear tire. A local auto parts store recommended University Tire and I'm glad they did! Talked with Ken before going in to see if they could check out the tire and they said they had one person before me but to come on in. We were there a little more than an hour and Ken came out and told us it was an easy fix, loose tire valve. He said it was "free fix a flat day" and no charge! The customer service at this place is top notch, I heard him talking to customers on the phone prior to my service and have to say it is a rarity in this day to find someone you can trust. Wish I lived closer I'd be a regular. Thanks Ken for getting us back on the road for the rest of our vacation!

I watched the staff yell at a customer when their own credit card machine wasn't working. The customer offered to leave his card for when it started working, but two staff members starting getting aggressive and told him to go get cash or have them take the tire off the rim. It isn't surprising considering the guy who seemed like a manager (scar on forehead) smelt like alcohol at 10:30AM.

Customer service here is great! They were able to get me in on the day I called, both Chris and Ken were friendly and helpful, and Ken went out of his way to help me with some potential future car care issues. Previously, they had also fixed a flat for free before they closed on a Saturday, which was greatly appreciated. And that's what led me to them today. We own a small business and know how important accurate reviews are to prospective customers. It's disappointing how few businesses offer pleasant and useful customer service. We will be seeing more of these guys in the future - and that's not something I say very often.

I rate this location with 5 stars and highly recommend to friends and family. I called them on a Wednesday afternoon and spoke to Ken. He was not only gracious and accommodating to my schedule but he was able to fit me into their schedule the next morning on such short notice. I was impressed and very pleased . The phone call was informative which I appreciated- I have a hybrid- not all automotive shops know how to service hybrids. The visit was superb!!! I was greeted by one of the staff who introduced me to Ken. All staff are exceptionally professional and Ken’s explanation of the assessment for my vehicle was quite thorough . I truly felt he was looking out for my safety and he sincerely cared about the maintenance of my vehicle. Thank you Ken!! Looking forward to my next visit:-)

I value honesty in business with mechanics. I came here the other day and was told it would take $1800 to pass inspection due to wear and tear from the age of my car. Because of the price I wanted to get a second opinion from a trusted business. After my car was reinspected it was found to have only $300 needed for repairs. I don’t know the most about cars but thankfully I knew better than to accept this from university tire in Orange. I guess young women are an easy target for these kinds of things. Very disappointed but feel others should be warned.

My vehicle was making an odd noise ... was told it maybe the heat shield , and there was nothing " really to do about it , sometimes they get loose or fall off " ... no big deal , huh ? It is a part of the car . Nevertheless, the heat shield can be re-tightened and resolved with a reputable mechanic . Nice on the phone , but be cautious .

Went to that place as my wife got flat tire and it was the closest place around. Initially I was helped and given choice of tires however when I returned to the shop to pick up my tire the while experience started. They had problem processing my payment as their system wasn't working so I offered to call in later or leave cc on file but I got yelled at by associate and another genelman who appeared to be a manager, who btw seemed very angry and was cursing like it's a pub. I was asked to go home and come back later when they processing system works. (I'm 40 minutes away) I was also asked to go get cash or they would take the tire off the rim. That place is the worst exhibit of customer service and common courtesy and I will never return to that place even if I would have to drive an hour elsewhere.

This place isn't going to take you for a ride, you or your wallet. If you've got an option, talk to Chris. In two times I've found myself with a fairly short fix-it time on my vehicle, he's been honest, fair, and pleasant to deal with. He will walk you through low, medium, and premium options for your repair, and he won't lie about repair times or values. I've trusted my vehicle to two different University franchises and this particular location is extremely trustworthy. As a mother who shows up with her young kids, I understand on a cynical level that I could be a very easy mark. Instead, they treat me just as well as they would anyone else. Highly recommend this location for anyone needing work to their vehicle.

Came in today for a rear break change and inspection. I was told the brake change would take no more than an hour. I was quoted 95.00 for the brake work.2 1/2 hours later I'm still sitting here and every time I look out of the waiting room the mechanics are standing around drinking coffee and talking. When I ask the guy at the desk about how much longer because I have to let my work know. He walked back there and came back and said in a rude way " they are a third of the way done. U have to get the springs loose and adjust the shoes. It takes time." Finally after almost 3 hours they finished. And charged me 130.00 for the brake work. I have been coming here since they opened. Seems to be going down quickly. Time to find a new shop.

The service was great, the inspection was done quickly, the oil change was a decent price. Leaving the residue for the old inspection sticker on the windshield is why I have to give a middle of the road star count. I have to wonder if it's the only shortcut that was taken.... something so easy to get rid of yet so obvious. Please take more pride in your work next time or I will have to go somewhere else.

Terrible terrible service will NEVER go to this place again!! I should have never listened when people recommended Ken & his guys! Dealt with him for 3wks, first tells me I my need 3 things to pass inspection. We do those things go back next day. Well he puts rejection on it cuz he comes up with list of over $2500.00 worth of stuff that's needs be done.Which was all a LIE, b/c finally passed today & we didnt fix but a few things on HIS so callesd list. So that tells me they are liars & after your money. A Bunch people just trying take advantage of a woman evidently he thought i didnt know what was going on with my car! Ken tried fool wrong person & it did not work!!Also go to YELP check out all reviews they're horrible Ken can't delete those like he does on Google! So anyone should think twice about going there

I bought my tires from them and can't get them rotated because a place that sells tires and puts them on an does inspections will not and has not gotten the correct tools to remove the lug nuts for my truck. I will never buy tires or have work done by them ever again and they are the most convenient auto place for me.
