Several months ago i hit a CRATER (pot hole) on 76 that caused my front passenger tire to go flat. Insurance sent roadside to change out the flat with my donut. I was new to the area and decided to go to Tuckahoe Tire Country because frankly it was the only place I knew; I passed in front of it frequently taking the Patterson exit off 288 on my way home. I was in need of new tires anyway. What I hoped would be a set of 4 with an alignment ended up also being tire rods and a rim. (Yes... one helluva pot hole). The gentlemen were very respectful and their quote was more than fair (car repair, not my first rodeo). They reached out to a counterpart and found a rim for 1/4 of what a new one would have cost me. That day they rotated my rear tires to the front so that the donut would be on the back (front wheel drive) but advised that i wait to get my alignment AFTER the new tires were installed. I brought her back when the rim arrived and they put on a complete set of tires, replaced my tire rods, and also found a leak in my rear brakes (can't remember the name of the part)... and that made me feel really good because I KNEW I had a leak "somewhere" even though 2 other mechanics said my brakes were fine (brake fluid just doesn't disappear). I told them to change my front pads if they needed them. They told me my front looked almost new and that I didn't need new brakes (this honesty was a BIG DEAL for me!!!). A few months later my car's temperature gauge would climb while idling. I told them to go ahead and change the thermostat while they were in there, but they said it looked new, and no need to waste my money. Now I'm looking at buying a used car that needs a water pump (awe$ome deal). Tuckahoe Tire doesn't know it yet, but I'm having the car towed to their shop for repairs. Why? BECAUSE I TRUST THEM. They are not gonna change parts that don't need changing, their labor is incredibly reasonable, and their workmanship is Top Quality. I highly recommend Tuckahoe Tire Country. And I will continue to use them when I move to Midlothian next year. Ethical, Fair, Honest mechanics are damn near nonexistent these days. I am so grateful I found Tuckahoe Tire! Liz D.
I had a feeling I was being ripped off, but the location was convenient. Instead of using reliable parts from the manufacturer, they replaced three coils in my engine with cheap parts made in China. The first one they replaced has already failed after two years (one of the original 7 year old coils is still working). They also charged me twice what I paid the shop that replaced one of their cheap coils. Their only saving grace is that they usually work fast - the only other reason I used them.
Twice now we have had a nail in our tire. Truly amazing service both times. Tire fixed and back on the road within 15 minutes of showing up!
Came for a vehicle safety inspection and was turned away at the door.
I needed a good reliable mechanic and I found them at Tuckahoe. I have been going their for at least three or four years. The first time I when there, the deal was charging me over $800 to replace a coolant related component on my 06 Explorer. Tuckahoe did it for $400. They have always done above and beyond when I take my vehicles for regular maintenance as well as inspections. I decided to do a review to offset the negative reviews. If you take your car to the dealer, they always find something extra that needs correcting on Inspections. However, I feel that the staff at Tuckahoe has always been fair and honest with me. I will continue to used Tuckahoe Tire until they prove otherwise.
Nice, well qualified people.
Highly recommended!!! I stopped by about an hour before they closed, didn't have an appointment, but I had a flat and was in a jam. They squeezed me in and got me back on the road within 20 minutes. I couldn't believe it! The front desk staff was very friendly and the mechanic I spoke with, Isaac, was both knowledgeable and helpful. He informed me of my options and helped identify a solution that wouldn't break the bank. So refreshing, considering a lot of their competition will attempt to sell you on things you don't need just to make a couple extra bucks. To top it off, the waiting room was clean and comfortable. I'll definitely be back and encourage others to use Tuckahoe Tire as well!
Didn't go there
The guys are always kind, thoughtful and courteous!! Have taken care of my 2002 Honda for a number of years...highly recommend them!!
Outstanding in all regards!
Great service
I have taken several cars there for both mechanical work and for state inspection. I have nothing bad whatsoever to report. They're always helpful and have done good work every time.
We have found the guys at Tuckahoe Tire to be very fair. It's hard to find a mechanic shop that you can trust and we feel like we have with these guys. We recently purchased a used car through a private seller. The car needed an inspection and we recommended the owner take it to them for the inspection before we purchased. He liked them a lot and said he'd be using them from now on. It's good to find someone trustworthy and we are so thankful we did.
They charged me $545 for a tire replacement and and another small issue when I took my car in for an inspection... The TOTAL was $ 845! And when I was paying I told them I would NEVER bring my car here again! The answer was.. smiling!
There are a lot of car people around, but I trust Tuckahoe Tire. They do good work, go the extra mile to find the problem I report, and tell me only what needs to be done. And they work quickly. I recently forgot my wallet, and they told me to come back the next day or call to get it taken care of. I've had a lot of bad experiences with car repair shops in town, but this is one of the good ones.
Read the reviews online after I was spoken stern to. In the store, started having regrets after reading them. Didn't really yield the results I had hoped for, but I would go there in a pinch.
Incredible people great costumer service was a really great life savior if you read this review i recommend you go because it is all afforsable prices
Amazing fast service. I highly recommend this place.
Twice have taken my car in for an inspection and it failed there. Took it to another place and it passed with no problems
Second time here for state inspection and they failed for things that are not even on the inspection list. The guy was rude and I believe a little racist. Made me pay for rejected inspection and just plain disrespectful. Last time I brought a car to get inspected I was driving home and I noticed that my speedometer was not working, the red needle was underneath stuck in the neddle stoper and they did that on purpose just so I could come back and fixt it. I know because when I brought it, it was working. Hell no I did not come back my husband and I fixed it at home. It was done on purpose. Any way if you are latino or hispanic DO NOT GO HERE or if you are a woman for that matter. Anyway I WILL NEVER BRING ANOTHER CAR HERE AGAIN. Just because you work there doesn't make you better than others just so you know. I am so disappointed. I forgot to mention that when he told me it was rejected he threw my keys infront of me on the counter.
I felt the people there truly did not want my service. I was given a astronomical quote that I knew was phony. Won't worry about going there again
Tuckahoe Tire Country was wonderful! I had such a pleasant experience here and did not feel like I was being ripped off in any way shape or form (which I have had happen in the past). I will absolutely be bringing my car here in the future to be worked on as well as recommending them to anyone who asks!
Went there for inspection. Car was returned with the sound system not working. I called and after a couple minutes of ARGUING they said they'll fix it free of charge. When I got my car the back the second time speakers still didnt work and they refuse to fix it.
Another inspection story and how they try and get over on people. Just stay away. Ill never go back.
I had a tire leaking air when I got to work on a Tuesday morning, so I called Tuckahoe Tire Country to see if they could look at it that day. They said they could look at it while I waited, estimating 15-20 minutes. Upon arrival, I was immediately told to drive my car up to the garage door, and a mechanic came out to take a look at my tire right away. They found a puncture that required a bit more time-intensive repair than a simple plug, but they still got me in and out in 30-40 minutes. They repaired the tire, took a screw out of another tire (no puncture), and checked the air pressure for all the tires. They only charged me for the plug in the one tire - about $37-$38. Quick service, fair pricing, and willing to answer all of my questions. Thank you!
Our tire went flat a block away. We put the donut on and saw this place. Stopped in right at closing time, and Isaac had a new tire on 5 minutes later! Everyone was super nice and helpful! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRICES!
