The guys at Settle are honest, considerate, and work to get you back on the road for the best price with the best customer service in town. They even offered me ride home while my car was worked on one very hot day that I was walking. I finally found a shop I can trust. They also aren’t belittling to me but rather offer explanations on what work should be done and why. I really appreciate the education and family feel! I had a flat tire about 1/2 mile from Settle. I called AAA and the tow driver recommended Settle. I called Settle and gave them information on the car being towed in by Chris and my phone number. This was such a convenient way to handle this as I was watching 3 young grandchildren at the time at my sons townhome. They called me that the car had arrived there and they would need to order my type of tire from a supplier and depending on delivery of tire , they would try to have it done by 5:00pm closing. I received a call the next morning around 10:00 that it was ready to pick up. Since it was a short distance away, I walked. Called the day before for an appointment for a tire rotation. I was told I didn't need an appointment and could just stop by. I stopped by early the next morning and said it would take at least an hour and a half before they could get to it and that I should drop it off, which I couldn't do. If I need an appointment, tell me that over the phone. Don't waste my time and tell me I can come in then turn me away when I do because I can't leave it. A tire rotation isn't exciting or lucrative work for a repair shop, but it does give a chance to look at breaks and tires and make other recommendations. Having good service for the little things helps people trust you for the big things. This is not how you get future business.

I went to get rear brakes on my Volvo. The day before I had taken to the local certified Volvo mechanic and was told that I only needed rear brakes. I know that Volvo mechanics receive a lot training and I trust their recommendations. I did not use them because I thought their cost of $250 was high and decided to go to settle in hopes of getting a better price. I have been a long time customer of settle and was totally surprised when I was told by the settle staff that I needed both front and back brakes as well as rotors at a cost of $1100. I knew was not the case and ask them not to do anything and got took to Volvo dealer and had to do the rear brakes and to re check the rotors and front brakes. The other improvements were not needed . I was very disappointed that settle tried to hose me and never trust their recommendations again.

I take my car here since Dale Shiflett came to this company (3 years). He is the ONLY person yhat I trust there. I come in today for my oil change to find out he no longer is working here. He had a heart attack 2 weeks ago and he comes back to be fired from a company he helped improved DRAMATICALLY. Edit: based on my recommendation, my girlfriend went here. She was charged $1200 to pass inspection. I was charged $800+, and at the time considered my car at least road ready afterwards. The funny part is that both of us got multi-year stickers in NJ without fail for years. My car's not great, but after my visit to Settle, and the $800 I paid, I figured I'd at least have some peace of mind. Immediately, and I am not accusing though it plays into my thinking, after visiting Settle, my temperature gauge which used to struggle to get past the first marker, is midrange most of the time, which may mean a thermostat replacement, and my tires, which were thoroughly checked and considered according to the bill of sale, are leaky and unsteady. I did not have these problems before, and occurrence is not evidence. What is evidence is both my girlfriend and I were accustomed to $50 visits to our quick lube. Settle is a new reality we won't be participating in anymore. I hope you enjoyed the payment, you won't be getting a second. Original post: I had to get my car inspected for State inspection, and I found that this place was very responsive, as I used Yelp's auto quoting feature to find them. I had to leave my car, as appointments for state inspections are apparently illegal, or something, as explained. At any rate, I had my car back after paying over $800 for the inspection and a 150k+ check up. When I asked the details. I got them. I did not feel cheated at the time, but surprised. If that's the best I can hope for with auto places, I guess things are status quo. I felt safe leaving there, because I was assured that my car had been made road ready again, but I was wrong. I'll not go back a third time, and in my opinion, neither should you. $2000 is too much of a cognizant.

It's less like having a mechanic and more like having a GP for your car. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Update: After numerous problems with my car and with my dealership, Settle had my back once again. They couldnt solve the problem themselves but recommended an awesome local place that saved me over $1k on repairs vs what my dealership offered. Cant recommend these guys enough. Love them, love the shop, love their work and love the prices.

I stopped in on a Friday, at the end of the month, in need of a state inspection. I knew I had picked the worst possible time but sometimes that's just the way it goes. A long time customer of Settle, I was greeted in the usual friendly manner with a true desire to help me out. Our daughter went to Settle to get her car inspected. It was the 1st time as a recent college graduate, she had ever had to take care of her car on her own. She texted me later that they were very nice, but there was a long list of things needing tended to, and it was over $1200. I, of course was not happy to say the least. My main issue, is they told her 2 tires had cut out and needed replacing, which would be around $200. Then they showed her a list of the total cost of all that was necessary, totaling over $1200 (final total over $1300). It was very confusing to her, but they were so so nice and she is a very trusting sweet girl. They neglected to point out to her that they were now replacing all 4 tires. The tires in question had maybe 15000 miles on them and she drives like a grandmaw. I can take it that maybe the front tires on this front wheel drive had damage because of alignment. I refuse to agree the back tires were not perfectly able to pass inspection and last another year. And the "nice" guy had told her she needed 2 tires. They also flushed her brake fluid which was "necessary" at $100. So, instead of helping this young girl and doing $1000 in items on a $15 inspection, they had to make it over $1300. I felt she was taken advantage of, and spoke with the manager, who felt that even though the consultant had told her she needed 2 tires at $200, she had approved the total which included $400 for two tires, even though she obviously was misled. The manager said he would send her a coupon for a free oil change, and of course the future tire rotation was free in the future. I told my daughter to go for the oil change, and free rotations, but other than that, not go back there. As a business owner, I am disappointed in this 1st visit of a young lady her first week in a new town. Follow up: Turns out the rep who helped her was the manager Dale. I would never take a car here. I am sure as she starts her new job at Custom Ink, she will share her experiences with her co-workers.

Years ago they successfully set me up with some tires for my car, so I returned this afternoon with a hand truck who's tires would not take air from two separate gas station air stations. Settle Tires is not just for tires! I have a 10-year-old Subaru with 100K miles on it and I'm trying to get another couple-few years out of it. Recently a check engine light came on after I had noticed stalling, etc. They diagnosed the need for an oxygen sensor replacement and also recommended some cleaning services for driveability. After that work, my car is running as well as it ever has and my gas mileage is better than it has been in years.

I stopped in at 4:15 pm with a tire that was almost flat. Was greeted and told they could look at my tire then. It turned out the tire had a slit at the edge and could not be repaired (had been losing air). A new tire was ordered and appointment set for 8 am the next morning. They topped the tire off for drive home. The next morning I was greeted by name and car was promptly taken back. In around 45 minutes my car was ready. I found a new place for car repairs, tires, and inspections. It was refreshing to be treated like a customer with a brain!

Settle Tire is nothing but a MONEY PIT. They seem like they are all friendly and will cut you a deal... in fact they did the first time i went there, to get repeat business i guess. Then it turned into a big "screw you" each time after that. I have a 2002 honda and dont drive it hard or anything. in the last 2.5 months i have dropped about $2600 in services at settle. Begining with a $700 fix in late December, then the second time i went in was to FIX what they did wrong the first time..totaling the large amount! Now, it's the beginning of March and i apparently have a "SENSOR" that's gone bad and to fix it they quoted me $500. That's just too many things, one after the other to make me think THEY are somehow "securing repeat business" from me. My husband actually found the part for $59.00!!!!! So i told them not to bother fixing it. I went to pick up my car and just for HOOKING IT UP to the computer it cost me $40...FOR NOTHING DONE TO MY CAR OTHER THAN READING THE COMPUTER. Kicker is that I took it to Advance Auto 5 minutes before i drove it into Settle and had already diagnosed the problem with their computer for FREE so i was able to tell Settle what the problem was in the first place. So they charged me $40 for something i already knew!!!!...... where does it end?? They are straight forward thieves trying to make it in a tough economy.

Everyone is super nice! I love the ride before and after the service because that saves me a lot of time and also gives the workers some flexibility on their schedules. The driver had excellent memory on navigation! I showed him the direction when he first dropped me off at my apartment and he soon remembered and picked me up later. The guys working in the front desk are also helpful and kind. I asked them a lot of questions, and they were willing to help me as much as they could. This is my first review and I felt I had to write it because the service was great. I've moved to the area recently and have been nervous about finding a car shop. Mechanic shops have a reputation of trying to take advantage of people, especially women. At the referral of a friend I went to Settle. I walked in and they were welcoming. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! I brought my car here for a year and did probably 1500 dollars in business and they seemed honest at first. Then I started hearing stories from other locals at the bar, and coworkers, about them being cheated by settle tire. The first time I brought my car they installed my brakes for a good rate with parts I bought and delivered to them. I believed they were doing me right so I brought it back for subsequent services. This last time I brought it in I was cursed out by the garage manager for pointing out that he didn't have a decibel level tester. He was angry because I wanted to know why my horn passed for 5 years in a row without a problem, but now, without a change, its now to quiet. So I asked to see the test. He told me didn't have a tester. He then cursed me out when I told him to give me my car back. These people were clearly trying to pull the wool over my eyes. And hen I called them out they got angry and scared and reacted accordingly. Only go here if you regularly burn money because you have to much already. 0 stars

Could not be a worse service shop. They used to be decent and now have just dismal service. Took my car there to be inspected, came back and claimed it would be 1,000 bucks to fix it. Took it to another much more trustworthy shop, and it passed inspection with flying colors. These people just want to take your money and will take advantage of you. DO NOT GO TO SETTLE TIRE!

Price was high; had a premium tire quoted at a discount store that was $9 higher than the the average produce I purchased from Settle; convenience was the factor. Now that I know Settle’s pricing structure it’s unlikely that I would use the store again. Used to use Settle all the time; prices are not competitive. Service was good.

These guys are great! Power steering went out on my SUV and Greg was able to get me into the shop immediately. I was worried there was a major problem with the steering pump or rack, but it just needed a new belt and pulley. They were able to fix the problem and had me back on the road in less than 2 hours! Honest work at a fair price...hard to find these days.

I was told at the counter that you cannot schedule service appointments, however after they had my car the entire day for a simple oil change the service guy in the back told me you could. I will not be returning.

My son brought in a 2004 VW Jetta TDI in for a used car inspection. They told him the car was good to go. TERRIBLE. The car has a bad transmission. PS CV boots are missing, crank position sensor was bad., and there are turbo issues. My son was naive and trusted this shop. What a mistake.

I called to ask if I needed an appointment (after having the spare put on) and was told they would fit me in. The man who helped me was polite, friendly, and efficient. I was in and out within half an hour, maybe less. I recommend this business whole-heartedly.

I have been going to Settle Tire for about nine years. I feel like they are reliable, trustworthy and do not try to take my money. I had an older car that someone else quoted over $1000 in repairs for a replacement and they told me that it would be okay to drive and I did for a few years. They are friendly, offer a ride to work or home when I need it. They are frequently busy, so I usually let them know when I need my car back. They are always honest upfront about what costs will be and give me the option to wait if possible. I appreciate their friendliness, quality work and professionalism. It's also a nice touch to be remembered and greeted by name when I walk in the door. I am happy to recommend Settle Tire to everyone!

Clean shop, friendly people, but I was lied to. Took my 2008 Jeep Liberty to have a break inspection done because my Jeep seemed to have warped rotors. Was told my brake pads were at 1/32 of an inch, all four brakes and rotors needing replacement very badly. Quoted me $1,168.00 (parts and 95$ an hour for a 3.4 hour job). I took my Jeep to a referred local place (API service center) and they found that my brakes had 75% life left, and only the front rotors needed to be replaced. Costing me only $247.00 Even if I did need all four brakes and rotors replaced, it would have cost me between $627 and $849 choosing a different shop. (Called 7 locations in town) Crooked guys to try exaggerate a problem, and quote astronomically than everyone else.
