Took my truck to Piedmont tire and auto for an oil change and tire rotation and state inspection. Dropped it off the night before. Received a call from them at 2:30 pm. They said I needed new brakes in the front. I told them I only had 18,000.00 miles on new brakes front and back. Said I would take the truck somewhere else for the brakes. Went to pick up the truck with failed sticker and learned they hadn't done the oil change or tire rotation????. I think they were trying to sell me a brake job that I didn't need. I will take truck back to Ford dealer that installed the new brakes. Will not go back to Piedmont. Previous experience with them was when the patched a tire and didn't tighten the lug nuts. Lost two lug nuts and could have killed myself. I should have figured them out then. Beware of Piedmont tire and auto!!!!!!!

First come first serve is great in theory, but in practice makes it very frustrating when you need an emergency tire repair for example . The staff has obviously well practiced in blowing off new customers due to this factor.

I went out to start my truck for work and NOTHING. Great way to start off the day… Piedmont had done maintenance on my vehicles in the past so instead of having it towed to a dealership, I had it towed to them. I have an extended warranty on my truck and BEFORE I had it towed in, I verified that Piedmont could work with them if it was covered. They said “Of Course!” PHEW!!! I thought I may have to take it back to the dealership where I bought it (in MD, UGH). Piedmont did diagnostics on it and determined that a relay sensor in my transmission was bad. I talked to my warranty company, giving them this information and they told me that it wouldn’t be covered because it wasn’t “An internally lubricated part”. At this point, I was a little distraught seeing an unexpected $1000 bill in my near future. I called back up to my guys at Piedmont and told them what my warranty company said. Not only did they explain the part that was bad and where it was located in my transmission, but THEY called my warranty company directly and educated them as well. CLEARLY being an “internally lubricated part” and covered under my warranty. They approved the claim. The diligence of all the team members at Piedmont not only saved me $1000 (minus my $100 deductible) but has yet again proved that John and his teams are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for their customers. I am a customer for life and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone needing mechanical/maintenance services on their cars & trucks. Keep up the great work Piedmont and thank you again!!!

After visiting my dealer and being told I had $350 worth of preventative work needed, Piedmont's second opinion confirmed that everything was just fine and that I did not need these services now. Let me state first and foremost that I have been bringing both my vehicles to Piedmont Tire over the last couple of years and will never do so again. In April 2013 I visited Piedmont Tire to get some work done on my truck just as I had done many times before. I brought it on Saturday and advised the young kid (early 20's) working at the front desk that my check engine light was on and a circuitry system indicator was flashing. I advised the kid that I had previously taken it to Jiffy Lube and they told me that I had a vent valve problem per their computer system and they provided me the error number. Unfortunately I didn't have the error number since I wrote it down on a napkin and lost it. I also informed the kid I needed an inspection. By Monday afternoon they had called to inform me that the problem was in fact a canister vent valve ($189.95) plus ($99.95 per hour in labor) and that I needed an alternator. Total cost over $800 extremely high. They informed me the alternator was $260 and labor was $75. I informed him I would do it myself. Its two bolts and a wire that need to be taken off. The part at Auto Zone was $130 and the labor of course free. When I got home my wife informed me that I had a diagnostic fee of $99.95 for the vent valve issue. She informed me in the past we never paid these fees when the work was done at the shop. We also noticed they didn't bother to complete my inspection that I requested. So I called Piedmont Tire immediately and spoke to the same 20 something kid. I informed him of past instances where the fee were credited back when we got the work done at the shop. He was immediately argumentative, interruptive, and snarky. He informed me to call the shop manager at home at 7pm to speak with him about the fee. I declined informing the kid he wouldn't be able to do anything for me at home and elected to call him during normal business hours. I called the next day and the shop manager wasn't there. By Wednesday afternoon I finally got a hold of him. I told him about the fee and the work that was done. He spoke to me like an infant and as if I was a moron. I informed him that he was no different then the kid who worked at the front desk and that I would be writing this review online. He then went on a rant yelling at me that I better explain things correctly. He continued to yell so hung up on him. 10 minutes later he called me back and attempted to explain himself. I told him he could keep my money as it would be the last dime that business would ever be getting. The young kid at the front desk and the shop manger are undeniably unprofessional and highly disrespectful. I do not understand how these two are still employed at this business. Given this is the third negative review I am confident many are having the same experience and just moving on without providing feedback for the rest of the community.

On June 5th my daughter was driving from Washington, DC to Roanoke, VA. An hour into her trip the car started making a loud noise. Not knowing if it was safe to continue driving she called AAA. The AAA tow truck driver towed the car to Virginia Tire and Auto in Gainesville, VA. She arrived there at approximately 6:30. The service advisor informed her that it would be $109 plus labor to look at the car but because they were busy they may not be able to get to it before their 10:00 closing time. I called the service manager and pleaded with him to assure us that the car would be looked at as we could not risk her being abandoned at an unfamiliar location at 10:00 at night. He refused. Not willing to risk our daughters safety we searched for another repair facility. We called Piedmont Tire and Auto and even though they were closing they agreed to wait for my daughter to arrive. They test drove the car, tightened a cover in the engine compartment and had her on her way in 15 minutes. They provided the service free of charge. Fortunately, my daughter arrived home safely due to Piedmont Tire and Auto's prompt response to a young woman's emergency.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Set up an oil change appointment 4 days in advance, dropped the car off at 9:00am. I told them I needed it no later than 5:00, and they said no problem and that it would be done earlier than that. I showed up to pick up my car at 4:30, and they informed me it was just finishing up. 45 minutes later and it’s still not done. They had the car for 9 hours to do a 15 minute oil change, and waited until the client arrived to pick it up in order to even start it. This is the first and last time I will ever come here. To top it off, while I was waiting, I head another unhappy customer who had a similar situation where they never even touched his vehicle for the entire day. Highly unprofessional.

They were able to get me in and out the same day and honestly I thought it was pretty quick for as busy as they were! The price was more than competitive and the service was outstanding. They are true and honest with the pricing! For me and my deaf friend they were more than willing to help us understand our situation with the car, took the time to call a friend who was able to hear the situation with our car so they could have a better understanding with what with wrong with our car, they wrote back and forth with us, even texted us to keep us in the loop of how the car was doing and what work was being done and to let us know when the car was ready to be picked up and when the shuttle bus would be here to pick us up.they even had a staff member who knew a quite a bit of sign language to help us out with the communication. Fantastic place over all; so kind and friendly. Spacious waiting room- they even had a small waiting room for kids! They also had a small self serve coffee and tea area. Spacious place for handicapped people to come in and not feel cramped but very comfortable ( huge plus for me and my walker ) only two small down side, a little hard to find parking, and can easily be overlooked. But once found your in a GREAT place to have your car fixed up to perfection!

Apr 2014 - Piedmont Tire & Auto, in Gainesville, VA, apparently does not have a skilled technician capable of removing & mounting new tires. My TPMS system was damaged when new tires were installed (Sept 2013) and they will not admit responsibility to the alarm constantly flashing on & off (pressures nominal). Nor have they made any attempt to diagnose/replace whichever sensor they damaged. May, 2014 - followup to above comments: Received call from Piedmont mgt to bring my '10 Honda Accord in and they would "FIX" the problem, whatever it is. Five stars for finding the problem when using the appropriate test equip - one tire sensor failure, 3 ok. Discovered broken press sensor floating loose inside the tire. Tried new generic sensor - No Go (3 other tire sensors indicated failure when processor sync'd to new one). Replaced generic sensor with Honda sensor & all 4 tires checked good!! High fives for fixing the problem, lower fives for failing to discover problem on 3 previous visits. Good to have TPMS finally working.

They will rip you off. Worst experience I've ever had. Me and my family were on a road trip to Boston on 5/12. Our vehicle started to miss and the check engine light came on. We pulled into peidmont and asked if they could look at it. After sitting in the waiting area for over an hour, they finally tell us they took it apart and decided our PCM board was bad. It would take 5 days to get the part and around $1200.00. Obviously we were out if town and couldn't wait 5 days for a part. Our vehicle was still running and after debating if it could make the trip we decided to rent a vehicle from the enterprise in Gainesville. When we left in our vehical it was now worse than it was when we got there and the AC was not blowing. (It was prior) they said they were not near the AC and it had nothing to do with them. We paid 650.00 for a rental and continued our trip. When we got our car to our own mechanic the following Monday. After 1 hour he had our car fixed. It was not a PCM board. It was a melted wire. The harness that holds the wires were broken and this particular wire was hanging down and got too hot and melted. He fixed it and our vehicle is running great. In one hour....one wire. Not a board. The AC wasn't working due to a stripped wire. And our AC was working fine before they took it apart. So thanks to Peidmont, we spent $650.00 on a car rental on an already expensive trip to Boston. When all they had to do was check the wiring to the board rather than saying "oh its the board" and we could have been back on the road. Peidmont charged us a fee of $120. They refuse any refund and deny they are at any fault. He said there is a process to dignose and checking those wires were not in it because they are up in a harness. No, the harness was broken and the wiries were hanging out and caused damage. They should have caught that. And it would have been a simple fix and happy customers. Either these people have no clue what they were doing or were hoping to make a bigger repair. I don't know. But I wouldn't bring any vehicle to them

Rip off! They striped my oil plug in my oil pan during an oil changed and try to charge 600$ to repair it. I shouldn't have to pay for something they broke. After a conversation the guy dropped 500$ really fast and said he'd do it for free labor but I would still have to pay for the new oil pan, I shouldn't have to pay for that either. I have friends that have had the same problem with them. Don't go here horrible business!!!! They have done this to more people!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER CARE AND DAMAGED MY CAR!! Told them about the damage and returned in 15 minutes to get apologies from staff and was told they would talk to management about what to do and would call me in 24 hours!! Piedmont Tire has been a great partner to us at Bull Run 4x4. Since we work in a small shop with a single lift to build custom Jeeps for our customers, we do not have room for tire mounting and balancing equipment nor do we have room for an alignment rack. John and Cody at Piedmont have been very accommodating for us by handling all of our tire and alignment needs for all of our custom Jeep builds for our local customers around the Haymarket/Gainesville region. Their customer service is what you would expect from a family owned, small business but their quality of service is even more notable. We often have wheels and tires shipped and delivered at Piedmont to have them mounted/balanced. If there is so much as a knick or slight scratch on a wheel, we always get a call asking us if we want to send the wheel back or proceed with the work. Most shops would simply install the tire on the wheel and act like it’s not their problem. I can’t speak highly enough of their work and professionalism. If you need a Jeep built, call Bull Run 4x4. If you need your car or truck repaired or quality service when it comes to wheels and tires, call the folks at Piedmont Tire!

I went in for a state inspection and alignment. Initially we had done disagreements about passing my car but at the end of the day Kevin at the front desk bent over backwards and with the help from Cody(a mechanic) they showed me excellent and understanding service. I came there yesterday at 0655, store still close. When they opened I was fourth in line. I told them I need a state inspection and I want to wait (because there are only three people ahead of me) but the guy told me minimum wait will be 4 hrs, the shop opens at 7 am but the mechanics will arrive at 8am ??? A bit puzzled but I dropped off my car thinking since I was fourth in line let’s assume they have four mechanics so by nine my car will be done or early. 9am passed so a bit worried again. I came to the office at 930 just to check if my car was pulled up but it still outside! So went to the office and said I’m gonna get my car instead. When the guy pulled out my paperwork, I saw I’m 2 customers ahead of me ?? So meaning? How many mechanics do they have? Assuming one mechanics doing state inspection only and assuming the three people who came ahead of me came for state inspection also, by 930 my car should be pulled up... at least. For a 15 minutes inspection job per car..assuming. I always go to Virginia tire and auto at Gainesville the line there is terrible for state inspection. But it so happens that there is only one mechanic working for inspection at that time and I was also fourth in line waiting inside of my car and I timed him how long he do his work , it takes him 15 to 20 minutes per car. So I waited 1 hr for my turn. So I decided to go to piedmont here at Haymarket for a change and to know why this shop has a good reviews . ...But to expectations piedmont did not deliver the way Virginia tire delivers as far as car service is concerned. I also had bad experience at Virginia tire auto that is I am sourcing car shops and try piedmont auto for a change. Later in the afternoon at 3:30 pm I went to piedmont tire at Gainesville and told the guy I need state inspection and he said they have reach their cut off for state inspection so they can’t do it. So again I leave again with frustration with their good reviews. Well I guess I have to go back to Virginia tire shop for state inspection because they have an “real” mechanics working and you can see them if they slacking around or working very hard unlike at piedmont you see a lot of cars parked and outside the curb, but you can’t see their mechanics if they’re working or not.
