So I'm under the impression that my previous review did not go through because I got another email suggesting I bring the jeep back for some work to be done as if nothing happened. McCarty's does great work. I have no issues with that. I've taken my jeep somewhere else before and McCarty's fixed it. No issues with the work at all. My issues is with the lack of tact when I called 5:10pm 2 weeks ago and said I was on my way. I was told you close at 530pm. I asked if someone could please stay just a few more minutes as I was passing chesapeake sq. I pull up at 5:29 pm to 3 sour faces grumbling about "we want to go home too that's why we put the time on the door" But nobody said a word about me having to bring the jeep back 4 days because the spring had to be shipped then everything was backed up monday, then backed up Tuesday . I have an LLC outside of my job in North Carolina I needed my jeep for, maybe one day I can get to the point where I can grumble about getting a $1,000 check at closing time. This doesn't take away from service in all fairness, but there was no tact in the situation. I could see if I hadn't called and just assumed someone should be there.

Well, I definitely can't give it to them for the speed of their work. I took my truck in mid day Friday, and come Monday, they still havent even looked at it. For that, they lose a star. Secondly, I have taken my vehicle in too many times, gotten it back, and had to take it back because some part of what they did wasn't functioning properly. For that, they lose another star. Thirdly, I can count at least three times the owner has sarcastically told me off when I went in to check on the progress of the truck. For that, the jerk loses 2 stars.

Good old fashioned repair shop. I had my car repaired here and given a "new car inspection" I was very happy with my service. The mechanic brought me in the back so he could show me some of the issues on the vehicle while it was on a lift. The customer service was excellent and the car was finished in less than 24 hours. If you are looking for a fair price on repairs, a job finished quickly, and your car fixed correctly then this is your place.

If you want to feel like you've been ripped off, go somewhere else. McCarty's is the most honest auto repair garage I have ever been to, bar none. The work is always top quality; the price is always reasonable; I've never been up-sold; I've never felt as if my wallet has been lifted from my pocket. Come in once, and you will be a customer for life. I know what their plan is: they'd rather have me as a customer forever rather than making a quick buck in a one-time transaction. McCarty's Wheel Shop has been here forever; yes, forever. I think they've been in business since the advent of the automobile. And they have been here for decades not because they are building a business off of one-time customers, but rather because they are building a business based on honesty and value.

It always amazes me when I'm told by others that a repair or part can't be found because my car is 25 years old. At McCarty's I've never been told that my car can't be fixed or a part found. Recently, Tim, had to make a part to repair my wife's Tahoe. Stan found a part for my car within minutes. I've been depending on Robert and his team for over 40 years. I'm sorry to hear that Chuck is retiring and my wife and I wish him well. This shop is the best!

This shop does good work at a reasonable price. I went in having transmission problems. Instead of trying to sell me a line of bull, the owner suggested I take it to a dealership as they would be able to get the part I needed cheaper and probably have more experience repairing the problem. It's good to see there are still honest businessmen.

It took me almost four years to find a good and honest mechanic in this area. They did not overcharge me. They quickly assessed the damage in about 20 minutes, ordered the parts needed and told me to come back the next day at a certain time. I got there and they did all the work in 30 minutes. They were very nice and helpful. My ride is totally smooth now. I will come here for all of my car maintenance needs from now on.

Had my car serviced twice with issues that other shops turned away. Had custom repairs done on my 85 corvette that exceeded my expectations. When I picked the car up both times though there were small things that I noticed different like steering wheel alignment being slightly off. Overall great shop with fair prices.

I took my vehicle for a state inspection. They rejected the car because they said it needed new tie rods. I took it home and replaced the parts they said were bad. When I took it back for a re-inspection, they rejected it for ball joints. I shouls have teported them to the State Police. This shop is very dishonest!!

I used to live around the corner from McCarty's and would get oil changes and inspections because they were so close to home. McCarty's really proved to be a trusted place bursting at the seams with business and completely able to deliver quality work in a fast and professional manner. My sister has since had a radiator replaced in a timely, affordable way after being told by another shop that it was the engine, my parents have had major work done to their satisfaction in price and quality, and now my old Suburban is being repaired for $307 for a drive shaft, versus the $1000+ transmission work we were told.

I forgot to write this review a few months ago but I drove by McCarty's today and remembered I promised I'd do so. My coworker recommended them when I needed an inspection back in January so I decided to give them a try even though I expected them not to pass it because, well, I'm sure everyone knows why. Well, sure enough, it passed inspection!! Now when I came back to pick it up, they told me they did recommend I change my battery because it had a very low charge and they estimated it would last approximately 2 months. I trusted but decided to verify by testing it myself with my battery charge tester I own, and sure enough, the charge was way low. So I decided on my way home from work, just to be sure, I'd drop by Battery Plus and get a price on a battery there (since my stereo has a powerful amp and needs a higher quality battery than the basic one my car would usually get) as well as have them test it. Sure enough, they told me the exact same thing and even showed me when they tested it. We all know how expensive automotive costs can be for just things we need done much less things we don't, and we all know how hard it is to find a good and honest mechanic. So due to their honesty I had to give them a fantastic review and say that I highly recommend them. Thanks guys!

From state Inspections to major repairs, look no further than McCarty's. This is the ONLY place I will ever take my Jeep for major repairs. (This may sound funny, but I actually like having a reason to take my vehicle there) Not only will they take care of your vehicle, I swear they treat you like family there.
