Called Hornsby Tires and a few of their competitors for an alignment and two tires. Needless to say, Hornsby got my business! Jeff provided the best customer service! He was very knowledgeable, confident in his delivery of what I needed and very professional with a terrific personality! The price, repair time , cleanliness of the business and follow up call after repair was absolutely second to none. The other employees were also friendly, informative and helpful. Hornsby Tires are indeed "The Tire Pros"!

The worst attitude towards people of color . this is quite desterbing when the company built its service center right smack in the middle of the gueto., (the bottoms of Newport News VA). This company does all it can to make one feel uncomfortable as they can, if you are not of the majority. There tactic is to tell you that it will take an extraordenary long time to service your car in an effort of deterrent. It was not always this way. In the beginning they were very helpful, In about the 3rd year of business, their true colors began to show. DO NOT take your car there.

My elderly father traveled to see me and complained about a bumpy ride and steering with "a mind of its own". We got a quick tire inspection and concluded that he needed 2 new tires and an alignment. His last bill for service was even checked to see if there was a warranty issue on his tires that could save him money. Got us out the door quickly without breaking the bank and my Dad was safely on the road back to GA. Shuttle and State Inspection made my first experience here awesome! Very professional and super fast. Hornsby had always been good to me. They definitely care about what they are doing. I came in last minute for a nail in my tire. They fit me in no issue and got me out fast. I've had tires, breaks, oil changes done here and it's always good service. They shuttled me home and picked me back up once work was done. I don't know if that's typical but they did it for me. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Pricing is also reasonable.

Now I’ve been coming to Hornsby for a while and generally I’m happy with their service and reasonable prices but on my last visit the mechanic left the old belt under my hood. We drove 8 hours and had a horrible burning smell - thank God the fan blades didn’t get tangled up and cause another problem. This is the first and hopefully last bad incident I will have with Hornsby. I still recommend getting work performed at this shop - I’m just disappointed with this last service.

Just to give some background on my situation, I have an older vehicle (2005) that has been giving me trouble for the past couple of months. Recently, my radiator split while traveling which brings me to my reason for service. I had to get that replaced and was referred to Hornsby Tire & Pros by a friend. Hornsby was able to offer me the lowest price for parts and labor of all the competitors I looked into (Pep Boys, H&H Radiator, Childress Auto Center, And Priority Honda). Most of those places were quoting me up to $1100, and Hornsby did it for ~$550. In addition to the low service cost, they allowed me to leave my vehicle on their a lot until I was able to pick it up without any hassle or extra charge, which is what really topped it off for me. Great staff, great customer service, and I will be back for future repairs.

I walked in and the place is BEAUTIFUL!!! I walked to the counter, had a 2 y/o with me, and asked how long it would take to do an oil change. The guy at the counter said we can do it! So knowing I had a baby with me I assumed they’d be able to do it quick. I had gotten there before lunch time so I was really hoping it’d be done quick. He took my keys and my info. I went and sat in the waiting area, which to my surprise was kid friendly and had stuff for her to play with; popcorn, coffee, and a snack and drink vending machine. The lady who checked me out was nice and it was an easy check out. The only thing I wasn’t expecting was to be waiting an 1 hour 1/2. Had he had told me before I probably would’ve came a different day, Been prepared with snacks(or even lunch for the baby) or had been prepared to wait that long. Other than that the place was great!

Won't be back. I'm new to the area, and based on recommendations,I went to have a vehicle inspection done here. It's quite a long story, but was lied to about how I could proceed after my inspection, had to pay an unexpected amount by bring tricked, as I didn't have to have the repairs done immediately. Owner didn't try to fix what happened to keep me as a customer,or offer any type of compromise for the inaccurate information. Police were even involved and still no resolution from the Owner to keep my business. I am completely new the state and I depended upon this business to be honest, reliable and give the correct information; I was very disappointed by the staff and the Owner, and I hope no one else goes through an ordeal like I had here.

I went there for a state inspection, oil change, & alignment. Only thing i needed extra was wiper blades. They had 5 people ahead of me. All that i had done to my truck it didn't take them long to do it. Very experience & nice people that work there. Will go back next year to get my work done to my truck.

Had a state inspection done here. No problems with that. But the people at the counters are pretty rude and appear to be annoyed at the presence of customers in general. Also, I have a special Broadway mirror clipped onto my oem rear view mirror. It offers a wider range of view to allow me to better monitor traffic around me. For some reason, they removed this mirror and just put it on the floor of my passenger seat. If you need to remove it for the inspection, at least make sure it's somewhere where my feet don't go maybe? There's plenty of dash space. On the floor is careless and lazy and shows your company doesn't value respect towards your client's property. What if this had broken? Would your company have offered to replace it?

I just moved to the area and was very concerned about getting my state inspection, since I come from a state without them. I Googled the closest state inspection location and just went there. The employee who checked me in was very friendly and personable. They had a super nice waiting room with a Keurig and multiple types of K cups. They moved super fast, and were done before their initial estimated time. I was devastated to learn that I would have to have over $300 worth of service to pass my inspection, and I even started to cry because I had no idea what I would do. Then the office manager (can't remember her name...so much going on right now with the move that my brain is fried) asked if I wanted to apply for credit. She went to bat for me and helped me! I know I looked like absolute garbage because of running errands and unpacking...they could have assumed I wasn't worth their time, but they treated me like an important customer, even checking with a second type of credit line when I was turned down for the first. They even offered to drive me home while I waited (I live 1 mile away) but I just felt like walking. I seriously thought it would take hours to be ready, but I think it was like 45 minutes. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish and I will definitely be bringing my car back for routine service. So glad I chose Hornsby!

Wouldn't trust anyone else with my vehicle. I have a lifted diesel truck with large tires, and god knows its a pain to do anything wheel and tire related on these big trucks. None the less, I had an alignment done by them that was showing a little uneven wear on one tire after a couple hundred miles. I took it in and they corrected the problem free of charge. They are knowledgeable and stand behind their work. They also helped me in a pinch install new leaf springs in the rear of my truck. Not only was there price competitive to complete the work, they did a fantastic job and were the only shop I could find that would complete the work in this area. Cant thank the gentlemen that work there enough. Top notch work, Top notch mechanics, and very competitive pricing.

I was really worried my little sisters car was going to end up being very expensive to fix. The heater stopped working days before she was to take a NY trip she’d been planning for months and we were worried this would ruin everything. Being new to Virginia we didn’t know a good mechanic. A dear friend recommended Hornsbys and we couldn’t be happier. They not only fixed the problem but they did it quickly and without making me suspicious that they were robbing me or cheating me out of money I didn’t have. They explained what was wrong and how they fixed it. Simple and quick. I love them and will be using them in the future.

I needed an inspection. The timing was great with the mechanics but when it came to for me to pay at the window it got horrible. I went to the window no one was there but there was another room with a woman in it who could see me through the glass and see me on camera. She paid me no mind after I stood there for 10 minutes so I went and had a seat with my son. 5 minuets later I tried again to pay. She couldn’t even say “Hi” or “hang on” NOTHING. So one of the front desk mechanics had to come check me out after seeing I was still standing there. I already had my keys in hand I could have just walked out without paying but that wouldn’t be cool would it. The so called ladies need to get it together.

I’m writing this for a friend who was treated so poorly by the employees at this shop that he was too hurt to even talk about it with me. First off i would like to say that the fact that a business discrinates and judges people based off of who they love is bewildering to me, we are in the 21 century people! my friend went into the shop just to get his new tires and an inspection, easy things to get done that most people don’t have trouble with, yet the employees at hornsby tires felt the need to play games with my friend because of his sexual orientation, so badly to the point where the owner admitted it himself. they took about 4 hours just to do that all because someone is gay?! how rude and disrespectful can one get, it’s hard for people to be out, and one would hope that when going out in a public setting that they would be treated as equal and not discriminated by the way the appear and the people that they love. to me this just breaks my heart and i felt that the owner should have reprimanded the employees that were being rude and discriminating my friend, especially after he admitted to my friend and his father that they were “joking around with him and that it had gone too far” to the point where the men there wouldn’t help him at the check out and he had to wait longer for a woman to come. just a bad overall experience that saddens my heart.

I look to the reviews on everything, which is what brought me to Hornsby Tire. It's not often that a business stands out in a positive way enough that I actually write my own review, but they deserve it. Professional, straight forward and easy to talk to. You'll notice that just over the phone and find that the same holds true in person. I had 4 new tires mounted, balanced, etc. and a state inspection on my VW. No pushy sales, just genuine and informative. Any business that deals directly with customers needs to take notes from these guys. 5 stars for shop cleanliness 5 stars for customer service 5 stars for professional service

There selection of tires for my car in store was limited, Tires were good but they forget to leave one of my old ones as a spare. It took about an hour and 20 minutes a little over the average for one person working on it at a leisure pace that is an hour. That was okay but I was kind of in a hurry and wish the had two or three guys on it as it would have only taken ~20 minutes since I bought 4 tires and all. All in all the work was good just didn't like the service

I had a very dishonest experience today. I own a repair business and do all repairs but alignment. My Navy customer wanted 4 tires and State Inspection. I replace 4 tires check everything out for State Inspection and all is good. My customer wanted an alignment due to replacing 4 tires. I take the truck to Hornsby Tire and drop it off. The Service Writer calls me and informs me my ball joints are about to fall off and they cannot do the Alignment. I bring the truck back to my shop and not only I rechecked for a mistake by me. After I see again that the front end is very tight, I call another Master Technician to check. He came up with no problems with the front end not to mention the scare tactics they use to tell me that ball joints are about to fall off. It’s terrible that our Service Members fighting for our Freedom are being lied to and cheated out of their money by these RIP OFF ARTISTS. DO NOT GO TO HORNSBY TIRE. Please share with all our Military members and the rest of our community.

I went for a re balance and alignment of my dually tires. 2 of factory tires would not balance come to find out they had broken steel belts. Jeff quickly and fully explained the situation and my options to rectify it. I chose to replace the whole set and Jeff found me the highest quality tires at the fairest price. Great place! Don't shop for tires anywhere else! The folks at Hornsby Tire will give you an estimate over the phone, and then the final bill is that exact amount. The service is professional. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. Their prices also beat "the other guy." I drive out of the way to go to Hornsby because I have always had a positive buying experience.
