I've been going to Allen Tire for over 20 years. I strongly recommend them for your tire and auto repair needs. The story that follows is just one of several demonstrating how Allen Tire - and in this case Gary Allen - combine mechanical skills and business integrity to deliver great customer service. My daughter's car, a Saturn L300, had developed a LOUD buzzing sound around 2000 rpm. (I'm one of those guys who hear everything in a car - when there's a squeak, rattle or buzz, I go crazy until I find out what it is) When I took it into be looked at, I was told the front sub-frame was bent and needed to be straightened. (plausible since it had slid into a ditch earlier in the year and as a result had work done at the body shop) I took it back to the body shop - they said the frame was fine and the sound was an 'internal engine resonance'. Back to the repair shop to have the engine checked out - everything checks out. They insist that the engine is binding due to the frame not being 'square'. Back to the body shop, they check the frame out again and this time produce a print-out from their frame machine stating it is 'within specs'. Again, they point to the engine as the source of the noise and suggest I have the dealership look at it. Predictably, the dealership says they can't find anything wrong with the engine and the buzzing is a 'characteristic' of the car. At this point, I don't know who to trust. Is the car 'safe'? Do I send the car to college with my daughter or is there something wrong that if left unresolved, will eventually cause a failure costing much more or even put my daughter at risk? As last resort, I gave Gary at Allen Tire a call. When I got to the shop, he stopped what he was doing and spent 10-15 minutes with the car to make sure he heard the buzzing I was concerned of. He agreed that it was out of the ordinary asked me to leave it with him. Gary called later that day, he believed it was a failing motor mount, (NO ONE had suggested that before) found an aftermarket mount in town and was having it delivered by end of day. The next day Gary had completed swapping out the mount, but the buzz was still there in some measure. To address this, he applied sound deadening material to the underside of the hood and asked me to come over to give it a 'test listen'. While it was definitely better, it wasn't completely gone. Gary believed this was due to the aftermarket mount and ordered a OEM mount to replace it. He told me to drive the car until the new mount came in, and we'd settle up after the job was done. (really surprised me he didn't want me to pay) Three weeks later, the new mount was installed and the buzzing was completely gone! I can't say enough about Allen Tire and the great service Gary has given me time and time again.

If I could give this shop a negative 0 I would . I am actually sitting I. The customer service that I heard so much about is terrible !! I am being over charged for a simple rear brake job with no rotors are calibers needed . My bill ? 200 bucks . I am paying this because I need the brakes done and I have it . BUT as a woman I feel I have been taken advantage of . I am also paying it because I have to drive a pretty long way in a matter of 2 hours so my back is against the wall . DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE EVER ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU AND LAUGH ABOUT IT IN THE BACK LIKE THEY DID TO ME I AM WALKING OUT OF HERE IN TEARS AND THEY DONT CARE

I NEVER write reviews for any business, but you know, Billy Allen is such a phenomenal person that I just have to do right by him. So let me explain what happened. I was at a stoplight and when I pressed on the gas pedal, my car wouldn’t move at all. I recently got an oil change at a different place, and I kind of knew what happened. The last few times I’ve gotten an oil change, this very same problem happened. I knew it had something to do with a hose and it not being connected right, but I never knew exactly what it was. So I get towed to Allen Tire and I explain the situation at the front desk. Billy Allen, the owner, knows exactly what I’m talking about and goes to check right there on the spot. Low and behold, he knew what the issue was and fixed it! Not only that, without me asking, he shows me exactly what the issue was and explains the science behind it. Turns out, every time I got an oil change, the guys working on my car would disconnect my air intake hose but not clamp it down all the way when they put it back together. So then the hose would come apart and my car shuts off. I’m SO glad Billy Allen explained that to me because now I know how to prevent that. To top it all off, he didn’t even charge me for the super quick fix. What an outstanding person, and I can tell he runs an honest business.

I found this place locally from Yelp that has a lot of good reviews... I originally went here to get a new tire and a oil change. Everything went well besides the fact that they tried to scam me by saying my battery needed to be replaced (1 month old.) So I went to advanced auto and they did a free alternator and battery check and both were in really good condition.. no problems.. so why Allen Tire.. why you do you want me to throw away a good working battery and give you over $100 for a new one? Seriously hard to find auto mechanics to trust these days. Smh.. JUST A TIP OF ADVICE!! Take your car to another mechanic to get a different opinion on your car issues.. might save you time and money that someone is STEALING from you.

I would give it 0 if I could. Just because you are a young female does not mean you can charge whatever you want and assume she knows nothing. I was quoted as needing $1,000 worth of work done to my car. I spent about $200 on some tires, new break pads and rotors; went somewhere else for inspection and didn't spend a dime. Some people are just not honest.

I started going to Allen Tires because the Company I work for, Inaray Design Group, has been using them for several years. I was able to easily set up an appointment and they recommended a set of tires which has been absolutely great. They also sold me on a warranty, which I took advantage of less than a month later when I went up on a curb and got a flat. I rolled in there on a spare and quickly left with a brand new tire. I'll be going to Allen Tires as long as I live in the area.
