Staff was really nice and efficient and it was actually done in less than an hour which was great and not something that usually happens! When it came time to pay they did not try to upsell me on anything or suggest I need something else done.

We needed an oil change, some work on the heat shields and several light bulbs to be replaced on our 2010 Subaru Forester. We made an appointment for Wednesday 6/20 and left the car there the evening before. The work was completed that day and we picked up the car about 5 PM. The work was done quite to our satisfaction, on time and at a reasonable price. It was a very positive experience.

Christie and the crew at ABS are top notch. They are super professional and always ready to answer any questions. My check engine light went on and even though they were busy, they managed to pop me in and run the codes to make sure I wasn't going to be left on the side of the road. When my radiator blew, they took the time to talk me through the repair, as well as speaking to my mother (who lives out of state) to explain the repair options to her (going so far as to take photos of the busted hoses with their own phone to send to her so she could see!). They definitely go the extra mile to get me back on the road with quick and reasonably priced repairs, even sending a car to pick me up and drop me off where I need to go. I'm never happy to have to go to them but I'm very happy to have found them.

ABS Unlimited Auto Repair has a ma and pa shop personalized feel with competitive prices. I take my vehicle into ABS Unlimited Auto Repair shop, they diagnose the issue, make recommendations, provide me with a quote and fix the issue in a timely manner; what is not to like? After not being there for at least 6 months, the owner, Tim, referenced something we spoke about during my last visit. What I appreciate the most, is that they don't force any repairs on me. They tell me what needs to be done, and let me decide without pressuring me.

Absolutely loved their service. I was looking all around town for someone to replace my headlights connector, there are the places that told me to get the parts myself and "the service shouldn't be more than $100", these guys got the parts, fixed everything, and did state inspection all for $94! Also, the guy kept telling me are you sure your car isn't under warranty? They definitely want the best for their customers.

When I was visiting this shop for regular state inspection, I was able to ask the estimate for four tires installation including balance & mount, also wheel alignment for my 2011 535i. The estimate was reasonable for me, good price than any other places at least with my research. After tire installation and wheel alignment done. I drove on the road, However, I clearly noticed the steering wheel was bit off set to left about -1° . I went back to the shop and explained. then the mechanic took my car back and adjusted something which I don't know what he did. He was so quick to do this. And he just told me this type of electronic steering is sometime hard to set the center of the steering. Anyway, that was not a big deal at the point. After couple of weeks later, I noticed car starts to shake at 55+ mph even on very smooth paved road. I got new tires, new balanced and alignment. But it shakes and bothers me too much. With my research, I though it was possible the brake rotor or pad issue since it was time to replace anyway. So I went to other Euro shop for the brake and mentioned the shaking. We thought it's from wheel bearings damaged. I confirmed to replace the wheel bearing if needed. After long time diagnose, All 4 tires were all bad balancing. This was possible issue when I noticed very early when it started shaking. Right after I found the shaking, I went to dealership right away but dealership asked me for $100 for re-balancing them. So I skipped to do it, also I didn't want to believe it was bad balances because I just have done it. However, today we found it while doing the brakes, and all of them were the failed balances. I don't know if they found the wheel specification with VIN, but 5 series has few more options for performance, such as front and rear tires are two different sizes. I don't blame this shop. But the mechanic who installed and mounted my tires was not good as any other ones. Because of... 1) steering wheel was not corrected after wheel alignment. 2) tire balances were not corrected - heavy shaking at 60+ mph 3) found scratches from wheels (while alignment kit attached) 4) found scratches from hub caps (probably he didn't know how to remove them) I have alignment record for before & after, I might need the wheel alignment again for better result. 1 stars is still too much, but it's okay because I decided this shop at my fault.

We broke down at the Whole Foods. Not being from the Fairfax area, we did not have any experience with the local garages so we called the Ford dealer and had our SUV towed there. With the quote of about $500 we just wanted to get it done and get back on the road. The next day the quote became $1000 I felt there was something wrong with the quote, but Ford insisted that the price was correct. So we had it towed to ABS unlimited their quote was $500. The next day, once again, the quote came back different. This time I was shocked at the price $79.20! I asked them to repeat themselves. It was true! I must tell you that they could have charged me the $500 and I would have been happy. ABS unlimited showed the highest level of integrity and honesty that I have ever received at a garage. This was the first time I brought my car to this location for a state inspection only. They completed the inspection quickly. They did not tell me that in order to pass the inspection I would need to have something repaired first. The fee was less than I have been charged in the past at other locations. I got a free cup of coffee while I sat in the office waiting!

Where do I began, I have 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. I went to the locate dealership to diagnose a issue which I was very upset about because I just had my truck serviced. The dealer first told me it was the water pump and it was cost 1200.00 to replay…. After saying driving back to the dealer to schedule the work to be done… the Dealership service told me it was the Radiator and it actually cost $2000.00 estimate to repair. Needless to say, …they received some chose words from me. I place the specs on Yelp and ABS Unlimited respond. I am not from the area so I thought a smaller shop with up the price and prolong the work..right? WRONG! ABS not only gave me a fair estimate, but the estimate was actual a few dollars below the initial estimate… They correctly diagnosed the issue very quickly and the cost was half the price of the dealership. Tim, Charles or Christi we both upfront about everything and in touch with me for any major decision. ABS is a genuine hard-working business that take pride in their work. I was so impressed that came back to have my brakes down. Again, I sent the specs (scope of work) on yelp and they are the best cost and best service. ABS is my family’s auto service and repair shop… Save yourself the time and money .. ABS All the Way!

They were wonderful. I had been driving around and my brakes started making noises. I was very concerned so called my friend Frank and asked if he knew of a local auto repair. He sent me to ABS Unlimited. They were very busy, but they took my car in, gave me a diagnosis and said they could squeeze it now and it would take about an hour. So we went to a near by restaurant and had some lunch. They called exactly 1 hour later. I had been praying it would be under $500 remembering how expensive my last brake job had been. And I needed routers and front and back brakes. The bill was only $410. They were great and now i have a place to take my car that I can trust to do a good job and charge a fair price. This is a honest, friendly, shop with fast service! Earlier this year I had an annoying rattling sound coming from my Jeep only when it was underpower. The crew at ABS Unlimited systematically examined everything that it could have been. Discovered I had a cracked intake manifold and two blown catalytic converters. I was told upfront what the cost would be and approximately how long it would take to repair. There were no surprises it was exactly what they said it was and even provided an Uber pickup to get me back home. If you're in the N. Annandale, Burke, Fairfax City area and you need a repair shop give them a try.

My battery died just after work one day. Of course! Worst timing. A friend help me jump my car to get me going. I had to get a new battery before the end of the day or I would be in the same situation in the morning. I was new the area so just looked at some quick online reviews for auto shops close to my home. The phenomenal reviews here sold me and I can tell you they are all accurate. Kristy, Christy, Kristi (or any other derivation thereof) was ridiculously nice. They were closing in 40 minutes by the time that I called and I'm sure reluctant to take on new work before closing. However, she pulled some strings with a mechanic and told me to drive on in. She was set for me when I got there, had much of the paperwork already completed. They wheeled the car into the shop within 10 minutes of me arriving. 1 hour later I was all set. Price was exactly what I expected it to be but the service was waaaay beyond my expectations. I will be using them for all future car needs.

I have used ABS to service my cars over the years and every time they have been quick to assist me with my needs. I typically call ahead and ask to schedule and appointment for service but they do offer walk-in service in the mornings. Overall their work has been great and they have never tried to nickle and dime me to increase service costs. In summary, I am very satisfied with the work done on my car and the service brought forth. Although I would have preferred to pick up my car at the end of the day instead of them keeping it until the next day, there are likely reasons behind this. The receptionist was polite and inviting upon walking in, and even on the phone. It helped me not to feel so intimidated as a first time car owner trying to service her car. I asked for a couple of specific services I needed and a multi point inspection. The mechanic found a few minor problems but they needed to be taken care of immediately - things like flushing the brakes, some battery terminal corrosion, and a defective trunk latch. I dropped my car off at 11 am and it was ready at 10:15 am the next day. I am unsure of how long these tasks take to do as well as how many people were in front of me for vehicle maintenance so I can’t say fairly if they took they dragged their feet or not. Either way though I’m very happy I chose ABS unlimited in fairfax as my first auto shop. I felt like I could trust their judgments with my car and I didn’t feel like I was ripped off or scammed in anyway with their prices/service. Oh and they have a cute little doggo!

My first visit here I actually got a great first impression. My second visit here I did not. I dropped off my car in the morning to do maintenance. I had to call myself to follow up on my car status, they didnt have it. When they did call me back they said it was ready. so technically they took 5 hours to do an oil change LOL. they probably forgot about my vehicle and just did a quick run through and told me to just flush all my liquids. Also when I changed my own brakes, I noticed they tightened my lugnuts so tight that it broke my torque wrench. that tells you they over tighten your lugnuts which can damage the threads costing your more money in the long run. This place will not diagnose your car correctly. I would go somewhere else reputable with professionals who know what they are doing. I dont trust their spot check and theyll charge you dealer prices. My advice just go to the dealer if youre gonna pay that much.

Christie went the extra mile, advising us to take the car to the dealership. She even supplied the name of her best contact in the dealer service dept. I have only been a customer for one day, but from what I have seen from this shop, I will entrust all of my vehicles to their care. Yesterday, my daughter's car was experiencing problems. I called and did not have an appointment, I was told they were booked for the day but would try and squeeze me into their schedule between appointments. The car arrived just before they opened, the car needed a check of a door sensor, a check of the brakes and an oil change. They not only finished it in just over an hour, but also the charge was unbelievably inexpensive. This morning I took my vehicle in for a scheduled appointment, and though it was determined that the work needed was coverable under my dealership warranty, they took the time to determine the exact problem and what needed to be resolved. Though my dealership has proceeded to screw me, and determine the work is not covered under my warranty, I will be bringing the vehicle back to ABS Unlimited so they can do the job correctly by not cutting corners and completing it fairly and reasonably. This is a family owned business who has been in business for many years. They have a top rating for a reason and go above and beyond the call of duty in this industry. I highly recommend you checking them out - I know I will be for years to come!

Very disappointed in their customer service. I was told in order to fix an issue my dashboard would have to be removed. Picked up my car after hours and realized a small piece of the decorative cover was not replace... no big deal, I was able to pop it back in. Months later, when it started to get warmer, I tried to use more of the knob controllers which I could no longer turn all the way to the left. I bought this to their attention and they asked who told me the dash had to be taken off... basically no responsibility was taken to solve the issue. I left disappointed at their service. I started going here despite the limited hours because they advertised being a family owned business so I assumed better service.

I have changed my review from 3 stars to 4 stars based on follow up from ABS. I had complained that they seemed to not take a my wife's concern seriously after working on our car. I was surprised, therefore, when I got a call from them shortly after I posted this review, with and apology and an invitation to come back in at our earliest convenience so they could correct the problem. I still believe (as I said in the original review) that ABS is a competent and honest auto shop, and I will return to them in the future.

I have been going here for years. It used to be my goto shop for all my car maintenance needs. I would bring it in once per year and everything would get done without any concerns. However, this recent visit was different. After checking out the car, I received a call noting what was needed, but was never provided an actual estimate on price. Upon pick-up the cost was way higher than I would have allowed if I had known up front. Additionally, except for the invoice, there was really little evidence that anything was done. I asked to fix a stuck window. It was fixed for a day using lubricant and then got stuck a day later. They charged to check something that I already stated was not likely to pop up. For the oil change, they either forgot to reset the oil life measure or did not actually do the oil change. Then, my tires were still out of balance despite asking for this service. I was very disappointed with the service this time and will looking elsewhere for my car maintenance needs.

My vehicle was overheating and they got me in within 2 days; the dealer couldn’t get me in for over a week. Once I brought it in, they had run diagnostics, called me to discuss the needed repairs and approval, and repairs all were done by the next day. From the time I spoke on the phone to schedule and checking out afterwards, their customer service was impeccable and my vehicle is in tip top shape. If anything else goes wrong, I will be bringing it back in. Thank you ABS!

ABS Unlimited serviced the 2 vehicles I owned during my 6 years as a student in Fairfax. Dealing with car maintenance and repairs can be rather intimidating as a young woman with little knowledge on the subject. The staff at ABS Unlimited were always super helpful in explaining any and all diagnoses and breaking down related costs. Last summer I was involved in an accident which totaled my car. I was so shaken up by what had happened that I forgot several items while cleaning out my car before it was sent to the salvage yard. The staff at ABS boxed these items up and mailed them to my house. I remain very touched by their kindness in doing that. I recently relocated to another state and I can sincerely say I will miss the expertise and service provided by the entire ABS Unlimited team!

I have been going to ABS Unlimited for all my automotive needs for about 6 years now. Throughout that entire time the service as always been exceptional and above and beyond expected. Previously I had a car with 220k miles on it. They told me what I actually needed done based on cost and likely longevity of the car. Then I had a separate time where my other car had an engine coil go out while going to an interview. The car was towed to them and they actually drove me to the local rental so I could get on my way without problems. Now I use them for my newer car for regular maintenance. I trust them completely and they are always honest with things. You can not beat this kind of service. As far as cost, they are open to bringing parts in if you can get them for cheaper so I'll do that when I know ahead of time. Otherwise they can take care of things the same day. For instance I dropped my car off the other day and before I even walked home all the way they already called with what needed to be done and an estimate and time for it to be complete. I highly recommend you try them out at least once and see if they suit your needs.

I found ABS through AAA. They were recommended by AAA & had great reviews online. They did not disappoint! The last time my husband took the car in to the dealership, they recommended a ton of work that the car didn't need. My husband passed away in January & I've been dreading taking the car in. I know better than to use a dealership but also know there's a lot of disreputable shops out there. I had budgeted about $2,000 but ABS didn't find any reason to do 90% of what the dealership told my husband. After all the basic maintenance, state inspection, & 2 front tires, I came in at about 1/4 of what I budgeted. At no point was there a high-pressure up-sell. I had the experience I've always hoped to have from an auto repair shop. They've definitely earned my business from now on.

Tim, Barry and Tolson replaced my intake manifold gasket set on my 66 Mustang this week and also resolved a power steering related problem. I genuinely appreciated they didn't just take the manifold and other parts off, replace the gaskets and put the parts back on. Instead, they ensured it was timed correctly and adjusted the misaligned throttle linkage when putting it all back together. When I picked it up earlier today - I was amazed how much smoother (at a lower idle speed) my car ran. Plus, I suddenly (after four years of misadjusted throttle linkage when I originally had the 302 installed) had a much more responsive throttle. I really appreciated Tim, Barry and Tolson's professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail. I was initially led to this shop by it’s volume of great online reviews. Going to the mechanic is one of those things that is necessary from time to time, like going to the doctor, and in a similar way, you may know little about the mechanics of cars and so can be, if you’re not careful, “taken to the cleaners.” It was my first time coming to this shop, and Kristy at the counter was awesome, empathetic, and helpful. Not only did they complete the work on my car the same day in time for a birthday road trip a couple days later I was a bit stressed about, but she took the time to explain what the car issue was, the parts warranty, and even offered their assistance in checking the air in my tires whenever I’m in the neighborhood. I may not be that high maintenance, but I really appreciated the sincerity of the offer seconded by the owner. I wasn’t expecting that level if hospitality and transparency, but it’s obvious now why this family business basically has a 5 star rating from all their customers. They seem like good people. This shop is just the best. They fix your car like they would if it was their own. It gives you a lot of peace of mind to know that your older car is running safe and won't leave you stranded. I probably saved over $1000 compared to what the dealer would charge (head gaskets, plus a new timing belt). They have also helped improve the ride of a hard riding van by helping me select good tires. They were able to diagnose a hard to duplicate noise when I finally captured it on video and sent them the video. They caught a very low engine oil level on a car that had previously never burned oil... in the nick of time. Their thoroughness is very reassuring. Their just like having a top notch mechanic in your family. My newest (used) car was leaking something. somehow the 100 plus point inspection by the dealer missed that little detail. So, after freaking out a little bit, I took it to ABS Unlimited. It turned out not to be a huge problem, but more importantly, they got the car running right. So I feel confident to drive to a new home in another state.

I came across ABS Unlimited Auto Repair when the A/C in my wife's car went out. I trusted all the positive reviews I read online and gave them a call just looking for an initial diagnosis to see how I needed to proceed with repairs. They gave me great advice over the phone up front, and looked at the car the very next day for a very decent price. When I got the call later that day with the diagnosis (A/C compressor, condenser, expansion valve replacement + freon flush and recharge) ABS was very honest about the price and labor hours it would take to finish the repair. Furthermore, I asked if they would still perform a flush and recharge if I did the labor on the parts replacement myself. Without hesitation they said this would be fine, and did not in anyway try to dissuade me from going this route like other shops might. Through their honesty and friendliness, ABS has earned my business for any future car repairs I may need. If you are looking for a place to take your car, do not hesitate to call ABS!

Had my 2003 Audi A4 3.0 timing belt job done here, and they did a great job, for a pretty good price (especially compared to what the Audi dealer and some other shops were quoting). in fact, a vibration i was feeling that came up after the dealer did some warranty work completely went away. I get the feeling they put the car back together even better than the dealer's people. Had them also do an old 93 Celica's timing belt (much cheaper than the A4's!) and again, a job well done!

Our daughter was visiting for the weekend when she told us her brakes were beginning to squeak. We brought her car to ABS on mid-day Friday and they told us the job would take a day as parts were needed, but we couldn't wait till Monday as she needed to get back to college. They promised to get the job done by Friday night and did it. I think they even scrambled the boss's car to go get the parts as the regular delivery would have taken longer.... We've been using ABS for a few years now and they have always been straight about what needs to be done and what can wait. Prices are reasonable and the people are good. I brought the car I purchased several months ago, a 2008 Mustang, to ABS to get a new exhaust installed and to get my rear tire plugged. Since my first encounter I have taken my car back for a routine oil change and maintenance check up. I had set an appointment for a regular check up on a Thursday, but then on Monday morning I saw that I had a flat tire on my car! I called ABS Unlimited asking if I can change the appointment for Tuesday and they did not hesitate on saying yes. I brought my car in with the spare tire and gave the staff some notes on my concerns with the vehicle. Throughout the day, they called to give me updates and informed me that I needed new tires. The hourly rate was reasonable, and the staff highly professional and welcoming. I was provided a ride home when I dropped off my truck. This is a top-notch service provider that I would be glad to use again, and will refer others to them, when needed.

I Took my car there for a bad smell, and i thought it was running rich. Three days went by, and then they told me that they would need more time and money to look at my car and figure out whats wrong with it, i told them no at this point and went to pick my car up, got there and talked to the tech that looked at my car and he told me that they could not read my computer and that my car did not have any o2 sensors on it, and that he would need more time and money to dig in to the problem, i said no thanks, they charge me 100 to tell me nothing about my car at this point i was very angry and paid so i could get my car back, took my car home and found that they never even jacked nor lifted my car up to see if it had o2 sensors on the car, witch i do because i found them all they had to do was look under the car, and found that the bad smell was from haveing no catalytic converters on the car, i took the car to a new shop and they were able to read my computer just fine, this shop is a scam DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!! I am going to the better business Bureau next to report them and every other place i can!!!!
