As of day this business has a score of 4.2 out of 5 and that rating was based on 147 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is really high, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we may be quite sure that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tires is included in the category of Tire shop.
Great!
Great place to go! Friendly, great service, clean showroom with free wifi, and a knowledgeable staff!
Prompt, courteous service for my flat tire! Thanks Vermont Tire!
I call ahead of time to get a sense of how the crowds are/have been recently and the service reps are always helpful letting me know when its not busy. They don't charge a failed inspection fee and they won't pressure you to buy something you aren't in the market for.
Great and honest service
Second time here, both times fast, clean, friendly service. Tires are expensive but I'm both cases I feel like these guys got me good tires for a good price. The waiting room has good internet, charging stations and a house computer, only downside was no coffee. I'm go back when I need my next set of tires.
Stopped in this past weekend, needing a tire valve stem replacement, great experience overall - these guys are very professional, kind, efficient. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes. Would highly recommend!
After reading some harsh reviews, I feel that I need to share my experience. VT tire is my absolute #1 favorite place to bring my car. They are always friendly and I have never been over-charged or over-sold on anything. Often, they are informative about issues I bring my car in for, and are honest about which issues most need repair. For good snow tires in VT, their prices can't be beat. I honestly don't think you can beat the price for the quality of their work and customer service.
The problem: I have been using Vermont tire on and off to change my seasonal tires over for around six years. I got my tires and oil changed this past October. A couple of months later in Early January my wife noticed a weird sound coming from a tire. While it sounded like a flat, it was not. When checking out the tire, I discovered that three of the lug nuts on that tire were loose to the touch. When I got out my tire wrench, I discovered that all the nuts on that tire were at least a little loose as was the case for the other tire on the same side. The nuts were properly tightened on the other side of the car. It seems obvious to me that they forgot to tighten the nuts on that side of the car. This is very dangerous and had I not caught this when I did we may have had the tire fall off while driving. Getting ahold of them: I tried to leave a message after hours to alert them of the problem, but their phone system would not let me leave a message. So I went to their website and filled out a feedback form informing them of the mistake and requesting that someone contact me. After not hearing from anyone for a little under a week I called the Montpelier office to tell them. I was told that the feedback forms don’t go to their office, so they do not know why I was not contacted. Their response: After informing them of the problem they only said they would make a note on my file. There was no apology for endangering my family and no reassurance that they would make sure that tires are tightened in the future properly. I am not sure how a note in my file will help anyone else but me. Conclusion: I will still use Vermont tire when I need to but will always double check that the tires are tight myself and recommend that others do so as well.
Ive taken my cars here probably 5 or 6 times. Great service, good people. I've usually chatted with the techs about cars and how the job on my car went. My only complaint is that the last two alignments I have had done have had me waiting over an hour before my car even gets pulled into the shop but the alignments are pretty spot on and get done pretty quick.
Got me in and out quickly with the tires I needed to get me out of a bind after blowing a tire on the VT back roads!
Vermont Tire has been my go-to retailer for tires for more than a quarter century. They do an excellent job in helping me choose an appropriate tire, in answering questions both at the time of sale and anytime thereafter, and in installing, mounting, and balancing my tires. They are well worth the 30-45 minute drive. I won’t buy tires anywhere else!
Great place for tires
Quick easy first come first serve is always good.
TL;DR: Vermont Tire is NOT predatory towards women unlike local dealerships. I've been going to Vermont Tire For a few years now. Firstly, as a female, I have NEVER been treated poorly. The front end team is patient and willing to answer all questions. I recently took my car to Subaru of Berlin to have my inspection done because on the day I did a walk-in VT Tire was slightly short staffed (never happens). Subaru of Berlin quoted me $3500 worth of work to pass inspection. Needless to say I wanted a second opinion. Vermont Tire quoted me at $1700 for aftermarket parts- which was a substantial savings. Come to find out, my car only needed about 1/2 of the work that Subaru of Berlin quoted me. I left VT Tire with just under an $800 bill. I was told by Subaru of Berlin that my car was not safe to drive. This was clearly a lie, and I cannot help but think that I was taken advantage of because I am a woman. And, as any woman out there can attest to, this is not uncommon in the automotive industry.
VT TIRE has been THE one garage I have trusted and relied on since I moved to VT five years ago. Sean, Kip and the other gentlemen who work there know my vehicle better than I do I dare say! They sincerely want the best service and parts for my Tacoma and they know how to explain and work through my truck's needs and repairs. Not only that, but my pick-up looks darn good thanks to the rugged tires that they helped me pick out. VT TIRE for all my pick-up truck needs, 100%!
Unfortunately, I can't give zero stars. Here's a rundown of my experience: Visit #1 - I made a routine visit to get the state inspection done. When asked how long it would take, they said 15-20 minutes, tops. I waited and when 20 minutes was up had not heard my name called so I visited the counter. They said it should the vehicle should be coming out any minute. I moved back to waiting area and sat down.. after another 15 minutes went by, I asked again at the front counter if the vehicle was done, they said no and I inquired as to why it was not done. They said they were 'backed up' and hadn't had a chance to get the car into the right bay yet. Finally, after nearly an hour waiting (for a 15-20 minute appt), the car was complete. Visit #2 - Dropped spare winter wheels off w/ tires purchased online for mounting. Upon completion, noticed that three of the directional tires (indicated with large arrows on the side) were facing the same direction, I had to ask them to fix it and the guy looked at me like I was stupid and said "we wouldn't have done that, let's take a look". He had to walk out to my car where the tires were and I laid the wheels down so the side facing out was up on all 4 tires and pointed out how 3 were set to rotate in the same direction... he took the wheel/tire in and had it fixed. Visit #3 - I called on Tuesday at 4 PM to have an alignment done and made an appointment for Thursday at 2 PM. My wife took the car in with a coworker following to give her a ride back to the office while work was completed. Upon arrival, employee informed my wife that no appointment had been made for 2 PM. After some confusion an appointment was made for Friday at 2PM. Visit #4 - Dropped car off for alignment appointment in morning planning to leave the car there for day while at work. Picked car up at 4:30 PM, just before closing and asked to see the alignment sheet which showed alignment before/after work completed. Unfortunately, the employee had not bothered to check or record the alignment prior to doing the alignment. As a result, there was no proof that any work had been done. In addition, when picking up the car, the car was parked well out of sight of the office with the keys left in it. Conclusion - I will be taking my business elsewhere and suggest that you do so as well. I can't recommend Vermont Tire for ANY automotive service in the future and will go out of my way to ensure that my friends and co-workers are well aware of my experience.
Great shop. Never rip you off and always willing to help with whatever you need. Great prices and service!
Great bunch of guys. They have gone above and beyond to help me out many times! They remember my name, and do great work too. Highly recommended.
I've been a VT Tire customer for over 20+ years and I all I can say is that the crew at VT Tire do outstanding work, are honest, accommodating and knowledgeable. From Kip, Sean & Steve in the front and the guys in the garage, provide great customer service. I was just there today for a big $$$ job, dropped off my car, their shuttle service brought me to work & back. Me, a very happy camper. So definitely consider VT Tire.
Tom Ly was very knowledgeable and I appreciated not being high pressured. However I think the service was slow although it was very busy. Our appointment was at 12:30, and they didn't take the RV until 1:15. Then it took two hours to change two tires. I would go back if I lived in the area.
This is very good place to visit .good price .
My car is slightly pulling to the right. I checked some basics before bringing it in. They did an alignment, but nothing was really off. Therefore, they only charged me the set-up fee rather than full alignment. Very much appreciated.
I've never had anything but good experiences here. Of course I mean the tires and service, but also that one time one of the employees came in with a box of homemade donuts and syrup and shared them with everybody in the waiting room! Only improvement I can think of is the ability to schedule an appointment, though they're good at predicting what time of day to show up for the shortest wait.
So happy we came by today! My truck blinkers had not been working correctly, and they were quickly fixed and I was on my way. Quick, efficient and friendly! I will definitely stop in again.
Great
Honest, knowledgeable and good prices. I've been going there for decades. They have wifi. Always a friendly place and other customers make for good conversation while one waits.
I find the employees of VT Tire to be efficient, friendly, and courteous. I dropped my car off to have work done and received excellent customer service. The work was completed beyond my expectations and completed by the time I was picked back up by their shuttle.
My husband went the night before and paid in full so he could drop the truck off in the morning. They told him to put the key in a filled out envelope and put it in the key slot. He called them at 10:00 to ask them to look for a possible u joint problem while they had the truck. They said they would. They didn't know the truck was there. He received a call at 3:00 asking if the keys were locked inside the truck. He said "no, I put them in the drop box as instructed." An hour later he called them back to see if they had found the keys. Yes they had. He called again 5 minutes before they closed to see if the truck was ready since no one called. He asked them to leave the key in the console and lock the doors. It was ready and he went down to get it. No one had checked the u joint. He got there at 6, the keys were laying on the console with the doors locked. The door handle was broken off and placed back on the door. No one ever mentioned that. He drove to a good mechanic this morning who said that the rear u joint is smoked. He was advised not to drive it again until it's replaced. They had a good price for tires but not worth the bullcrap and we will not be back.
Great local company.
Great Customer Service!
Great service, was in and out.
First time ever going to Vermont Tire and I can say that I had the best experience ever. Great team, fast and friendly service, not to mention polite, helpful and I got a great deal on my tires!! I highly recommend Vermont Tire for all of your tire needs. Definitely will be back again, thank you Mark and team!
This place is awesome. The best most honest mechanics you will find. I drive from Windsor to get my car worked on without a second thought. I have been coming here for about a year. First Kip was the man that helped me out and saved me thousands for work that didn't need to be done from another place in Montpelier near a creamy stand. Kip took me back to my car showed exactly what was wrong and wasn't being the main point. And I have been back ever since. Today I had an issue with a bolt on a brake caliper. Pat the new Kip came through like a champ and squeezed me in a tight schedule and had me out the door in 1.5 hours.
Great service. Josh Blais was very helpful.
Helpful, friendly staff, with accurate timing estimates and a robust service!
Staff a bit off putting.
Good prices and service. No surprises and done right. I appreciate having a local business that takes care of business!
Jared was happy to help me with a leaky (out of state) tire 5 mins before the store closed. I would have been pretty stranded if him and his team (Sean, Dean and Jason) hadn't stayed a bit late on a beautiful summer Saturday to help me out. Thanks so much guys!
Vermont Tire & Service rocked it out!!! Tom Ly, you're knowledge of tires was impeccable. I'd also like to thank all of the crew that got my truck tires on in an hour...You Guys Rock!!!
Queenie Beebee thinks she's the queen and is willing to ransack a great Vermont company because they did not bend over and kiss her shoes. That is all I have to say except this.......We don't need any more out of state queen's here polluting Montpelier.
We have had excellent service on the Tire side for years and we recently took advantage of the Service side after we purchased an older car for the family that needed a little love. They gave us a complete and honest assessment of repairs that were needed, along with an accurate cost for repairs. (This included work on the brakes, exhaust, steering/suspension/ and misc fluids) They kept us updated during the repair process and we could be more pleased. VT Tire AND Service, it's a game changer for us.
If I could give ZERO stars I would! Made a phone call to see if I could make an appointment to get winter tires swapped over (as I have purchased several sets of tires from VT Tire) and an oil change done... response verbatim was “ don’t even ask us for an oil change” I have no issue with being told the shop is booked as it’s that busy time of year, but seriously what happened to customer service or the courtesy of saying sorry we are busy and can’t take you right now. But being spoken to as a customer like I was -was offensive for even asking for a normal service I have gotten in the past is ridiculous. But this seems to be the norm in VT lately. I’ll pay the extra to go to the dealership where I bought my car just for people to be business like and professional as the always are... so much for trying to keep it local. VT Tire realize customer service is key to keeping customers!
First come first serve hard to get in
Absolutely the worst customer service I've had in a long time. The sales associate made it clear he wasn't interested in my business. He wouldn't even make eye contact and acted as though ordering tires was a huge hassle.
Love the first come first served model
Replaced pressure sensor
Great prices. Very knowledgeable staff. Excellent customer service. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I'm new to the are and this was recommended to me. I got my winter tires here and just had my summer tires put back on here. Both times I got an oil change. The prices are in line or better than those around. I feel like I've gotten fair and honest service here.
I had a very pleasant auto repair experience. Patrick was friendly and professional. My questions were answer promptly and calls were returned quickly. I am happy to recommend them to friends and family
The service was great and Chris k got me in and out in no time at all
They changed their response to match the review I posted. While I appreciate them trying to keep up with their online image they are still completely in the wrong. The "bend" they are referring to has been there for 2 alignments by this shop. Also their quote for the part was way higher than the Volvo dealer.....See my review below. Changing my review dramatically after my experience. Asked for a pretty simple thing for a tire shop to do, a front end alignment after having front struts replaced. After making an appointment and dropping my car off early I was told it should be done at 11. Great, so I show up at 11 to be told that my alignment wasn't done because a part was seriously bent in the rear and they wanted to show it to me. I said don't bother. I knew exactly what they were talking about the passenger rear stay (control arm) has a small divot on it. That divot has been present on this car since we bought it 4 years ago and around 100k miles under our belt with this vehicle you would think that if it was a problem we would have noticed it by now. This car has been aligned at this shop twice since owning it and this is the time they noticed the divot? Also the car tracked straight before the replacement so logic would dictate that the cause of the misalignment was the replacement of the struts so why after I specifically asked to have the front wheels aligned would they do any work on the rear wheels? Basically I wasted my time having someone from work drive me down there twice. Leaving for PA on Friday and now i have to scramble to find somewhere to have it aligned. I have received decent service in the past (with the exception of when they charged me an extra $7 for a TPMS service on a car that doesent have TPMS) They fixed that. This quote from a previous review says it best. "Yes they're nice; yes they do perform quality work--but sure they misrepresent the true immediate need for repairs to be done right then."
I called last Thursday to see if i could get winter tires put on my car. The man who answered, without giving his name, told me they were booked until the next week. He explained that they didn't take appointments (not sure why), but that if I wanted I could preregister the car. I picked Tuesday, 11/13 and said I would leave my car there all day. He said fine, drop the car off, put the key in the dropbox, and it would get done. At 1:10 p.m. today, I called and first, the man didn't know I had preregistered. I don't think he knew I had left the key. Second, once he checked his notes, I gather he saw that I did, indeed, have an appointment and then said I could pick the car up between 4:30/5. Third, at 6:30 a.m. when I left the car off ( after driving in a snowstorm from Waterbury), there were 10 people waiting in line, there was no place to park, and the 2 service men, especially one of them was rude and unfriendly. Fourth, when I asked how much the bill was, he said I don't know. Seems like a very poorly managed property. A friend of mine in Burlington made an appointment, took his car in and was serviced at the correct time. Seens simple. Not very encouraged.
VT Tire staff are the best!! Great Service, Honest, Best Prices!!!
Great customer see ice!
Awesome, quick service! Good comparable prices. Always friendly.
Very helpful and accommodating
Not sure I'd recommend just because they do have knowledgeable and courteous sales folks. And yes, they also perform good work. However, more than once I've gotten exaggerated diagnostics of my car's condition, resulting of course, in "you absolutely need to replace this." You be your own judge, so read on: The Vermont Vehicle Inspection Manual states the following in respect to the item for which yesterday I failed the inspection of my hybrid Highlander that's had all its maintenance performed at the Toyota dealership: "... visually inspect shock absorbers for excessive leakage, looseness or mounting brackets and bolts. REJECT vehicle if: ... Severe leakage (not slight dampness) is evident. So upon their indirection I was told "your front right strut is DRIPPING ALL OVER and needs be replaced in order to pass inspection." What??? I've seen ZERO evidence of any oil dripping in my driveway! So I asked if they could show me, and so here's a photo of the "dripping all over" assessment. (See photo all way at bottom) Conclusion: Really???!!! The regulation specifically states "not slight dampness.". I would have had no issue had they said something like: you will be needing at some point soon a new strut. Though considering that I've had similar exaggerated outcomes over the last 20 years of sporadically bringing one of my cars for a quick job to be performed, at this point I am left to conclude that I've lost confidence in their assessments which lead to more business for them, but unnecessary expenses to the owner. Yes they're nice; yes they do perform quality work--but sure they misrepresent the true immediate need for repairs to be done right then. UPDATE: The week that followed I had my car inspected somewhere else. And later, I had to get an oil change for which I took it to the Toyota dealer. Because we're going to go on a cross-country road trip asked that they please take a good look over the entire car. They found nothing--and this was at the dealer!
Went to VT tire to have a leaking tire repaired. They took the car in to look at it. They didn't even pull the tire off the car and told me that I needed a new tire. Quoted me at 255$. I took the car to a local shop and they plugged the tire in 15 minutes. This place is just looking to make money
Fast and friendly service!!
I came in to purchase new tires for my RV as I was misinformed by other RVers that tires that sit for a long time need to be replaced. After an inspection Kip the service manager took time out of a busy day to go over my tires with me and educate me on how tires wear. He said my tires did not need replacing and didn't want to just take my money. He then had one of the mechanics put air into the tires and sent me on my way. Service and honesty are rare things these days. Needless to say I am now a lifelong customer of Vermont Tire and Service and will always buy my tires from them.
Good customer service and ask a "walk-in" they were able to mount my tires quickly on my 5th wheel trailer.
We tried to make an appointment for a tire swap and an oil change and the counter guy was rude in a way that I haven't experienced in a long time in Vermont. Never going back, how hard is it to educate your counter staff on basic customer service skills or at least pretend that you care about your customers?
Always trustworthy. They are the best of the best.
Love them! Amazing service!
Very good service and fair prices. We’ve purchased tires here a few times and are dedicated customers now. I highly recommend Vermont Tire!
I had a APR stage 2 tune with dual pulleys done to my Audi A6. The car is a beast now! Very happy with them and there work!!
Fast, quality service. Helpful employees. Fair pricing. Can’t ask for more.
Great service, Great advice, and great prices. Highly recommend
Went in to have them look at a slow leak on one tire. They were helpful and didn't charge me when it turned out the leak couldn't be patched.
I was told one thing over the phone and when I brought my car in I was told something completely different and the amount was not the same at all!! Not very happy being lied to...
I have been getting my tires here for some time and no matter what busy winter day when everyone was cramming into the shop they were able to accommodate and recommend best tire for the right price. Not to mention repairs on my car always have been handled with care. Highly recommend coming here for your vehicle needs.
Just bought snow tires here. I called in advance and one the employees told me it was first come first serve this time of year as well as to come a half hour before opening if I didn't want to wait too long. I didn't have time to do that but showed up when they opened and sure enough, there were 20 to 25 people ahead of me. Ended up waiting almost exactly 3hours, which was what they estimated. Their prices were decent and everyone seemed friendly.
They always has the best prices. even when they're booked up they find a way to keep our trucks on the road and our guys working thank you Creative Visions
Went there for the first time and they got to me right away and was affordable. Great service.
Love it great group of people very helpful I highly recommend their services
They got me in quickly, helped me price out the best options for my budget, and had some fun toy's for my 6 and 8-year old to play with. There bathroom was very clean.
Friendly, helpful, and fast service for snow tires...
We use Vermont Tire and Service frequently and they consistently do good work, are fairly priced, and are always friendly and professional.
I have been using Vermont Tire (both locations) for years. No problems. I can recommend them without hesitation.
Despite the reviews, I think these guys did a phenomenal job with my vehicle. My ride is smooth and straight with the new Cooper tires they installed, balanced, and aligned. Great group of guys. Will be back in a few days to have the set re-torqued
Very friendly staff and reasonably priced. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area.
Good quick service, friendly staff clean waiting area.
Good place to do business
Update: I was misdiagnosed here and given a quick cheap fix which didn't help. I needed a new radiator (previous diagnosed by another mechanic) and when I got here they said nothing was wrong with it. Took it to another machenic and they told me I definitely needed a new radiator. Whatever they did, within a few minutes, my car was overheating in the red zone on the highway. Horrible expierence on a Sunday with no shops open. I took it here to have them fix this problem specifically. It was not fixed and I was told everything would be fine. It wasn't. Front staff is great, but I'm under the impression the machenics are always in a rush and don't give it the in-depth review it needs.
Fast service for an autoshop...and they treat you well and prices always are a lot lower than I'd expected
I went in last week and they ordered tires. I went today and had them put on.. they did call me by the wrkng last name..after the tires put on.. but myself and my husband are happy. Tina Davidson..
Vermont Tire & Service has always treated me fairly and their work has been thorough. The service advisors are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!
Dropped my truck off the night before, never got the phone call I asked for when it was done, when I called 4 hours after the hour long appointment they had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I had the wrong store. When I went to pick it up the truck was unlocked and the keys in the ignition around the corner of the building out of sight. Not impressed and will never be back.
Very pleasent the guys are awesome i recommend to alot of people
I've got the best winter tires on my vehicle from here. The staff is very knowledgeable and always takes care of all my family's vehicle needs. I highly recommend them.
Good could be better
First come first serve is especially useful at snow tire time of year when most shops are booked. Helpful, friendly staff too (get there early)
There ok....
We have been customers of VT for over 25 years. We keep returning because of good prices and excellent service. Yesterday I got a flat snow tire on my VW Jetta TDI which will be bought back in December by VW. Needless to say, I didn't want to buy a new snow tire for a car that I would have for less than a month. Kip came to the rescue (again) by swapping out my current snow tires for slightly worn snow tires that were in the warehouse. This allows me to have 4 snow tires that are all the same. My only charge is for labor. This superior customer service, going way beyond what one would expect, is why we return to VT Tire year after year.
Service was fantastic, got me in right away even though I didn't have an appointment. I would recommend them to anyone! Great prices and great service, can't beat it...
Great service and the best prices around! Convenient location with shuttle service to Montpelier. Highly recommended!
