Worked with Jeff, he is awesome. I had a complicated issue with my brakes and after going back and forth, had the rotors and pads replaced. Jeff went above and beyond to make it happen for me. 10/10 customer service, I recommend Sears Auto to everyone I know. These are the only people in town I trust and although I can be difficult, Jeff made it easy to get my car fixed up and back on the road. Thanks again!

We had gotten tires a couple of days ago and drove to Burlington and found out all of the lug nuts weren't tightened and Joe and Jeff went out of their way to make sure the lug nuts were tightened and potentially saved my life and my daughters life. I will be forever grateful and appreciative. Thank you so much.

Joe and Ricky at Sears Auto are the absolute best! I have been using them for all of my cars and kids cars for years. They are efficient, fair and get the job done right. I have all of my auto work done at their shop. They can do it all (tires, brakes, batteries, oil changes, you name it). Had to have a car towed in for a starter today and they went out of their way to fit me in. They care about their customers. Absolute pleasure to deal with and do their best every time. No where else I would take my vehicles!

Becky Hallock

I have been a client of Sears Auto Center at this location for 6 years now, and let me just say that their service is excellent and fast. Robert and Joe are normally the ones helping at the cashier station, they are always so welcoming and friendly. Can’t ask for any more improvement since they are just so great!

Went up to Burlington for a weekend get away when my car broke down. Told me my car was going to be 3 to 4 grand to fix. Took it home to my normal mechanic and he said it was only 600. I do not and will not trust Sears Auto again.

Brian George

Great convenient hours, nice people but Sears has another agenda... The way Sears forces these guys to do work they basically have to overcharge for everything due to a crappy computer pricing system. Unfortunate. I would come here for quick maintenance on a weekend or getting ready for winter but any real work especially on an older vehicle, take it to a trusted local garage.

Charles Basch

Tires wore out before warranty. Joe, Jeff and Larry were all very helpful. They helped me get new tires at a good discount.

I have been to countless dealerships, automotive places, private mechanics and until today had never been to Sears. I wasn't actually aware that they had an auto shop near me. I will never take my car anywhere else. This was the easiest most pleasant and stress-free experience I have ever had. Unfortunately my car is kind of a piece of junk and every year I replace the same stuff on it and it usually costs me between 900-1500. I had that same stuff replaced today at Sears for less than 300. Normally this is also a two day process but sears did it in just a couple of hours. They kept me informed via text and phone calls and this was just an all around great experience.

Carissa Cross

They were excellent! Very quick to get me scheduled, worked around my needs and tossed more air into a tire I didn't know was feeling needy without my asking, they will be my go to place for oil changes from now on.

Dana Girouard

When they screw up your car they make you pay to tow it there and then tell you to get it off the property. they offer you a free oil change to make up for ruining your transmission....what a slap in the face. The funny thing is they did an oil change when I got my trans serviced and they put in the wrong grade. All of these services were to make up for scraping my wheels that were refinished 6 days prior. Now I have no car and am dealing with the attorney general. All over tires getting mounted and them trying to make it right. Be judgemental. Its your property. You dont need to trust anyone with it

The best tools ever!!!!

We got tires put on our van Thursday 8/15/19 and the place we went to didnt tighten the lugnuts, so as were driving we feel the front tire shaking and head to Sears Tire Center. When we got there, Joe and Jeff stopped what they were doing to help us out and told us if we drove another 10 miles our front tire probably would have popped off our car because we only had one lug nut tightened. These guys literally saved our lives and didnt charge us anything. Absolutely awesome customer service, we are so grateful for establishments like this one. Highly recommend to everyone!

This is the only place in Burlington that I trust to give me an honest opinion on my car without trying to scam me for more money. Today I took my car in to have a loose piece looked at and rather than charge an arm and a leg to replace the part, the service person secured the piece free of charge.

So another car repair place said, "Sure come by Saturday morning and we'll fix your car before your trip Sunday." We drove over right when they opened and the MGR stated they were 'over booked' already and no way he was getting us in. We sped over to Sears and Chris Rossell said he could help us and he did. Fixed up the car in a few hours (all fluids, oil filter, fan belt, etc.) for my Marine son, we drove it 13 hours without incident to VA without a hitch. Thank you Chris!

In terms of customer service: these guys "GET IT." I don't think any other team could do better with customer retention and satisfaction. I've never had a bad experience here! I work for 2 family businesses and know the tremendous importance of customer service and communication. Spot-on! These guys need a raise.

8 hours later, and Sears Auto finally finished the work on my car, AND IT STILL RATTLES UNDERNEATH! Ray, the customer service man who checked my car in, was very helpful; showing me the things that I was getting done, the prices, how things totaled out, etc. So at about $580 I was going to get new pads & rotors, an alignment, my back break light replaced, an oil change & all my liquids topped off, along with four new tires. Woo! Great price, right? No, not right. I was up and at the auto center at 8AM. In fact, I was the first customer there! At 9:30AM I got the call that my car was in the garage, and that the mechanic found another problem, which would not only boost the price, but also boost the time and labor cost. UGH! "Fine, fix it all," I said. I went back to see how the car was doing - at 2:15PM. When I got there, Ray tells me that all the parts for my car haven't been delivered yet, so it will be another hour and a half to two hours more to wait. I return to the auto center, and AGAIN something else has happened. Apparently the brake hose for my breaks was all messed up so they ordered those pieces and wouldn't be able mount any of the tires until that was replaced . . . WERE THEY JUST PULLING MY CHAIN! UGH! So I turned our chairs to the window so that I could watch the work being done in the garage, and waited. My friend and I made note that not a whole lot of work was being done on the half dozen cars that were in the shop. All the mechanics were drinking their mountain dew and taking a cig break by the back door. SERIOUSLY?! Finally, at 4PM I am ready to cash out - I don't care to share the amount - and let's just say there was a difference between the beginning price, and the ending price. I asked the mechanic, "So did I pass inspection?" He looked at me with a puzzled look, and my friend chimed in, "She requested an inspection." So off the mechanic went, and then THAT TOO was added to the bill after I requested it, and it wasn't done. Tired and exhausted, we headed home, with not to much to say. And then we heard it; that sound underneath my car- one of the main reasons I went in today. Needless to say, this was my worst experience at a Sears Auto center, or any other auto center to be frank. And as for my rating, I didn't "hate it," because my car got fixed, however I didn't think it was "okay" because it wasn't - I felt as though they were taking advantage of me as a young customer. So I "disliked it" because they quoted me a reasonable price for things I needed done and certain other requests I had, but they forgot things I asked them to do, and it TOOK THEM FOREVER, something I was definitely quoted a better time range on from another mechanic (I was naive in thinking Sears would give me a better price and better customer service).

Nicholas Ceffalo

Had a bad tire fix from them. The manager took care of everything. Great customer service

Derrick Dubois

Had a really confusing time with them. I brought my gf's car in for an oil change and they said they'd check out the check engine light around 1015. I had an appt. We went to the mall to take care of a few errands. Noon rolls around and we have not hear from them. We stop in and they let us know the cylinders had low compression. I leave and receive a phone call 40 mins later (1240). The attendant just says the only fix possible is a brand new engine. 3000+ dollars. I asked a few questions about the diagnostic process and attendant didn't have much detail. I say we will not be paying for a new engine and to just take care of the oil change. We decided to pick up the next day because we were already home. We pick up the car and learn that the mechanic did not even do the oil change.. So I paid 90 dollars for the diagnostic process but no oil change. I will be heading somewhere else for the oil change that I need! TL;DR Went in for oil change($40), they try to get us to buy a new engine ($3000)

I can't think of anything better than getting winter tires put on! Great customer service and contacted me with anything they found! I walked to Target and got a new set of bed sheets, then went down unda and crushed a Bloomin' Onion, stopped at TJs and got some stroopwaffles. Life is good.

My "go to" place for automobile maintenance and repairs!

Highly recommend thhis shop. Not only did they take on a challenging ball joint replacement on a Sunday afternoon, they stayed late until the job was finished. They spotted and fixed the potentially disastrous issue VT tire failed to see two days prior. They were incredibly helpful, informative and friendly. Ricky made sure we were up to date with the progress of the repair. My car has over 140k m on it and it is, once again, running like new. Thank you guys so much!

Trina Dinnar

I cannot thank Sears Auto of South Burlington, VT enough for the amazing service I received from them during an emergency situation. My vehicle broke down during a 9 hour drive, Vermont being the halfway point. They were the only auto service company open on a Sunday which was very helpful considering I was in an unfamiliar town with no where to go. They replaced my starter and had my car on the road by the next morning. I am very grateful for the prompt repair and excellent customer service. A+++!

Christina Silva

We went here because of convenience - close to our house. Will NOT be going back! We went first to have snow tires put on & to get an oil change... they just forgot to do the oil change. We brought it back to get an oil change. The hood of the car wouldn't open (the little latch inside was disconnected somewhere), and so we asked them to look at it & fix it as well. They did the oil change, charged us for labor for the hood, but didn't fix it! My husband checked the hood before we left Sears & found that it wouldn't open & that the lever was gone altogether. When he went in, they acted surprised that he had wanted that fixed. At least they reimbursed us for the labor charge for fixing the hood!

I did not have any major repairs done, so I have no opinion about that. I did however, have a flat tire. A friend gave me their car about an hour beforehand when I noticed a puncture. I would of changed it myself, but the car had no jack. I made it safely to Sears and explained my situation. The tire seemed unsalvageable, but the spare would not only not come out from underneath the car, but was also in worse condition. I only have the car for a couple of days, so knowing my situation they told me it doesn't make sense to replace one tire without replacing the others. They managed to patch it up to the best of their ability and recommended I have my friend replace all of her tires ASAP. I appreciated their honesty and empathy. They saved me an arm and a leg, and the fact they kept my best interest in mind, if I do have any future problems, I plan to return to them for service. THANKS SEARS AUTO CENTER!! :)

I was very hesitant to go to this place due to several bad reviews, but I decided to take a shot. The counter man was very helpful and ensured me they wouldn't charge me. They didn't! They even solved the problem for no charge, nice people! The waiting room is a little sad though! But if your in a pinch and need someone they are good

Although they were friendly, their service took way too long, they didn't get the correct parts and they didn't assemble them correctly. They also left all the stickers on the new muffler and resonator they attached. Don't use these guys unless you're in a pinch.

Nick Gordon

If they recommend plugging your vehicle into their expensive diagnostic computer (an $80 charge), my suggestion is to say no and ask them to plug in their cheap little one for free. When the codes come up, you can look them upon the internet to see what your problem is. For me, they immediately recommended the large computer. I had to ask for the small one to be used first, which did come up with codes, but those codes weren't in the database. I found out out later that I could have just plugged these codes into google. They did end up using the larger computer, which came up with the exact same codes. The only difference is that this computer had a definition for these codes in its database. I feel like a sucker for having spent $80 just to be told that my vehicle is not worth fixing. The customer service is friendly, and the man at the register seemed to feel bad about charging me that much. However, I plan to steer clear of this auto center, despite its convenient location.

David Lucero

You need to come prepared when you come to an auto shop. You should try to Google possible reasons your car isn't functioning properly. Whenever I had some idea of what was wrong, Sears auto center was very accommodating. I try to avoid PJs autovillage like the plague and this Sears auto center makes it possible. I have gone here ~15 times within the past 8 years and only once I have felt like they were trying to rip me off. The sales reps often recommend service you don't actually need, I think its the managers policy.

They are OK, it can be hit or miss. Wish they allowed customers to schedule appointments. It is first come first serve.

Dylan Zimmerman

Good luck getting these guys on the phone. Every time I call, I have to try 3 or 4 times for them to pick up.

Krista Riehl

I called ahead to see if I could come in for an oil change. One of the guys said that it wasn't a problem. I got there within 10 minutes, waited 10 minutes to be helped, which is okay there were other people. He told me that it was a good day because they didn't have many oil changes. They told me it would be 45 minutes so I left and went to the mall. After over an hour, I went back and my car wasn't even taken back yet. I told them how terrible their customer service was. They said they would get in done in 10 minutes, clearly only because I was very unhappy. The guys that were at my car didn't even apologize. I took my keys and left. Very disappointing when I called ahead and they told me they were not busy when I got there!

Steve Wolfe

Been here several times for minor services and have always been happy. Call ahead to see if they're busy and you can usually skip making an appointment.

hands down the worst experience at any garage in the Burlington area was here. After calling and explaining my issues to a young man, I was told, yes I can come by later in the afternoon to have the mechanic see what’s going on with my car. When I pulled in at 3pm, I was greeted by an angry and irritated man bellowing “DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?”. I then explained how I called earlier, and what my cars issues were. After this man awkwardly pushes past me to get into my car to open the hood to look inside, it became very tense and almost argumentive. My car was leaking fluids—he then says “you’re not leaking enough fluids to be worried about anything”. Shocking. He then says over and over again how they “don’t have time to fix anything today”, which I understood when I initially called. I suggested that my radiator might need attention but wasn’t sure. I leave my car there for them to look it over for the next few hours before they closed. When I got back, expecting an estimate, I was greeted with “yeah, so there’s nothing we can tell you, we gotta special order the radiator parts”, and I was left with no estimate, no time frame when it could be done, not even the name of the part I needed and I was upset. Come to find out, I had gone to a much better garage, and I need my Transmission cooling lines replaced. Sears was ready to replacemy whole radiator, and it was absolutely astonishing that this gentleman who works out front has his job. Never give your money or time to Sears. They will destroy your car out of laziness and spite.

Jason Pyon

Takes 30-45 mins for an oil change (good places take 10 mins) and they routinely scour your car for things to fix and charge you with even though you never asked them to. Had a Groupon voucher but there's a hidden $4 store charge. Came for a deal but left paying twice as much for things I never asked for. Won't be returning ever again.

This place DOES NOT support the troops. My wife and I are veterans and she had a tire emergency. She pulled into Sears and saw their GIANT banner claiming "We support our troops, Military Discount". She pulled in and had one tire replaced. Not only did they charge her a premium $200 for a new tire, but the military discount was $2.80!!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me! That doesn't support the troops, that disrespects the troops. Nothing makes me madder than seeing a banner like that to take advantage of people making them think that Sears is a company that supports the military, when in fact they are just another moral-less, greedy company that has no respect for the military. TAKE THAT BANNER DOWN!!!!! I will NEVER be using Sears auto again!!!

Anthony Powers

Sears Auto helped my girlfriend out multiple times. Their service is quick, straight-forward, and honest. When their mechanics are unsure, they tell you. They don't charge you until they explain the bill and you give an "OK". Excellent customer service.

josh langevin

I felt rushed out on a Sunday afternoon though it was close to closing time they could be more patient and more detailed on what service was done to my vehicle. I bought 4 new tires and and oil change and possibly a 4 wheel alignment. The tires a wanted they said they had then they called and told me they only had 3 of those tires so I had to go with a more expensive tire. They were fairly prices and speedy and they told me about all the other issues the car has and what needed to be done soon and told me what we could wait on. Over all it was an ok experience but they could do better.

donna toney

Went in to have tires put on and they told me about a special they had buy 3tires and have a alignment done get the 3rd tire free saved me 120.00 dollars

Taylor Gelinas

We hit a pothole in our rental car, and of course the spare tire compartment was replaced with a piece of styrofoam and a $10 12v air compressor. The rental agency gave us two options: air the popped tire up with the pump, or have the car towed. After calling every tire shop in town and getting no help, I called Larry at Sears about an hour before they closed. We were able to get the car to him, and he replaced the tire and even topped off our windshield washer fluid that ran out along the way. Larry got us back on the road with little to no hassle, and we were able to enjoy the rest of our vacation. Thank you again!!

Lisa Benton

Great service and quick. Good customer service and friendly!

Claudia Rollin

The team at Sears Auto went above and beyond for me! I cannot recommend them enough. First, they easily fit you into their schedule despite the busy time of year. Rick and Joe (general manager) heard all my concerns about my car and came up with a game plan to make it all work out. I came in with tons of stress and walked away stress free and with my car in great shape! Keith, the mechanic is incredibly efficient and did a great job on the many details my car needed. I went to several mechanics for quotes and these guys by far were the best! Highly recommended.
