They said they would replace them but then would never follow through with doing so. I went back a number of times and each time they assured me they would order the parts but then never did.

This place is a joke. They are just looking for the upsell. I have had my vehicle there twice for a state inspection. The first time it failed for legitimate reasons and I repaired them and brought it back. The "mechanic" then told me I have an exhaust leak in a different location than the one I was told the previous visit and had repaired. Then he stated the car would no pass inspection due to the rotors being rusty. Now if this was the braking surface of the rotor I wouldn't argue but he was saying that the rust on the other portions of the rotor would cause it to fail. If this is the case they will fail any vehicle in VT. Rotors are made of cast iron and they rust from day one. If I put new rotors on it today the next morning they would have surface rust on them. They are untreated metal in a humid environment. Rust is not avoidable. The only thing that should not be rusty is the braking surface where the pads meet the rotor. Now I just did the pads all the way around this car the day before so i was very familiar with the condition of the rotors. They are passable. The "mechanic" then proceeded to explain the rotors were over $120 a piece and the whole job with parts and labor would be over $750. After hearing this he then says there is a muffler shop up the road they work with that can repair the exhaust. I looked up the rotors and they were all less than $50 a piece from AutoZone. That and I can change all 4 in my driveway with hand tools in about an hour. Yet this is over $750 at this shop... In addition to the already outrageous $65 inspection fee this shop is just looking to make as much money off of you as possible. If you enjoy wasting money and time this is the place to go. Don't just take my word for it look at all the negative reviews from others and also take notice that the owner never take the time to address a single negative review or offer to help remedy the experience or ever apologize. No they would rather thank people for the positive reviews and not bother with any negative ones. I did not see a single comment from the owner on any of the negative reviews. That really shows how much they care about their customers. If you have money to burn for horrible service and people that don't know what end of a wrench to hold on to make sure you take you business here.

This is my first time using Oil n Go. Greeting was okay. Place is clean. Employees can be heard talking and laughing in the garage from the customer lounge. Makes you think about how much attention they're paying to their work. I would only come here in a pinch. My dealer was too busy and my car really needed an oil change.

Don't get you car inspected here. My normal garage was too busy to fit me in for a couple of weeks so I went to Oil and go for inspection. They told me I had leaking shock and would cost $400 to fix. I refused and went back to my garage and they said shocks are fine.

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!! They lie about recommended maintenance schedules!! I was there several weeks ago to have oil changed in my Subura. At the time, they said that according to Subaru’s maintenance schedule, it was recommended that I have ALL my fluids changed at 75K miles which I was currently at. I said I would come back another time. After calling Subaru for a price comparison, they said that they had already performed this at 60K miles. I hadn’t checked my records as I TRUSTED Oil N’ Go’s word that everything was due at 75K miles. All information online and in my manual said that EVERYTHING that Oil n Go said was due at 75K miles was actually due at 60K miles. When I confront them in person they claimed that since they did not know what I had done in the past and that they recommended it in case it hadn’t been done!! They, at no time, said that this work was actually due at 60K and that I should check my records to make sure it was done and come back for the service. They specifically said it was due at 75K and when confronted didn’t deny that they had said this. Of course they want to do the work at the same time you have your oil changed, before you can even check your records. The owner did not understand why I was upset and threatened to call the police on me!!…….Perhaps it’s because It could have cost me well over $400 to have this “recommended” work done at the time and I personally have a hard time with businesses that out and out lie. I personally believe that they rely on people NOT to keep records or check their manuals BEFORE they have work done. My advise it to AVOID this business and stick to your dealer or trusted mechanic.

This place will cause more damage to your vehicle than they will in repairs. They installed an exhaust pipe that fell off months later. They use zip ties to hold things together, allow for snow to fall into your car when they open it, and do not refund any services they failed to perform despite the fact that it will cost you more to undo their damage. In addition, they refused to give me back my receipt that showed proof of their failed work until I had called the police. The police suggested to report them to the DMV or Vermont better business borough. If you like giving away your money to have your car damaged I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic service. Highly recommend them. I used to go to the Essex location, more often, but I'm living closer to Shelburne Rd. now. I came in with a different vehicle and address and Amanda did a great job updating my information. Carlos Ramos, the manager, handled my vehicle. I came in at 11:30 and was back doing my numerous errands, by noon. The price was great and there are $8 coupons, in several various newspapers around Burlington. He put my mind at ease about my vehicle possibly burning oil, but did recommend a power steering flush, since my vehicle was needing the power steering fluid topped off. I'm back here, at 4 pm, to get it done. I do not just get things done and have said no thanks, to various suggestions, in the past, but I do know cars and this repair is very reasonable and needed. And they are speedy. Carlos is a good technician and honest as the day is long. Great waiting area and super clean bathroom, too. You won't be sorry, if you get your car serviced at Oil n Go.

I regularly go there for my oil changes and they are fast, friendly and reliable and never try to push additional services too hard, but only give recommendations. I have gone to them for many issues both for my previous Xterra and now with my Focus. I especially appreciated the the service I received from Eric who has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. I just got new tires put on my car and they were not only competitive in their pricing, but it was the service that really sold me. I am not a "car guy" and I always feel respected and never feel like I am being talked down to when I am there. I know many people who swear by their service and I now list myself among them. I am a former employee of Oil'nGo. This being said, I thought I would be treated like the experienced tech I am. This was not the case. I brought my vehicle in for a tire that kept going flat. The Tech assigned to my vehicle drove it into the service bay. When I noticed he was about to put the vehicle in the air, and he had yet to disable the air ride suspension, I ran out into the shop. I then popped the trunk and disabled it. I was unable to see any of the repair in process. After about ten minutes the tech came in and informed me that he couldn't find the cause of the leak. I then told him that I wanted to have the tire dismounted, bead sealed, and a new valve stem installed, re-mounted and balanced. Problem solved right? NOT!!! Not only does the tire still leak after holding air for five days, my hub cap must not have been re-installed right because it ended up missing. I called them three days after I was in to inform them of the missing hub cap. They then tried pulling the old"That hub cap was missing when the vehicle came in". This was OUTRAGEOUS! I had just put air in the tire before I drove there. So I know that hub cap was on the car before it got to Oiln'Go. Don't forget I worked for these jokers for over two years. I have heard all the lies told to customers whenever it would cover their A$$E$. So again, I couldn't believe they were even trying this on me. Needless to say, they refused to admit the loss of the hub cap was on them. The hub cap cost about $55.00+tax online. And just as I was getting over the loss of the money I paid to have tire repaired with the fact that said repair then cost me a hub cap. Another kick when I'm already down, the damn tire is leaking again. I pulled the tire of the car, which was almost impossible, because the lug nuts were put on to tight. It also looked like the tech used the wrong size socket, because my lug nuts have started to round off. Once I had the tire off, I found that the air loss was probably caused by oxidation and peeling chrome. Something that any tech should have seen, heck any moron could see what was causing the air loss. The fact that their tech just slapped some bead sealer on the rim and put the tire back on it suggests a level of incompetence. And these are the people they have working on your vehicle. It is up to you, but who better to let you in on the trade secrets, they don't want you to know about. They claim the techs are A.S.E., when only one or two on site techs have that training. Long story short, if you care about your vehicle, you'll bring it somewhere else. THIS IS MY OPINION!

WOW! Talk about fast, efficient, and professional! They are not in the business of finding random repairs that "need" to be done in order to make a quick buck. They do what you want them to do, and they get it done fast, but most importantly, they get it done right! After they did my inspection, the woman in charge informed me I was quite close on my tires, and that I should rotate them in order to prolong their life. I had completely forgot to do this a couple months ago. They even gave me a free travel mug for the holidays! I am a new customer for life!

I Came in to replace my left headlight, the tech took an obvious shortcut by not removing the air box which obstructs the path of removing the light. He instead used his fingertips which does not give you sight or leverage to align the light properly. I noticed afterwards that the bulb was crooked and the end was touching the reflector which is bad because it will rattle when you hit a bump and blow the light much sooner. I called for a refund and the manager was very rude about it and told me that I'll get one but don't deserve one. It still hasn't posted to my account so I'm not sure if he's even done it or not.

Staff were friendly enough but I just wasted my afternoon there. I failed an inspection and was advised that I needed new brakes. Waited a further 1.5 hours for them to put on some new brakes only to be told after all that time sitting around and losing business that they didn't have the right parts. Still charged me the $55 inspection fee which I suppose I can't really be upset about but that would have been a nice gesture for the wasted time. I've learnt my lesson and will only get future work done at a dealership.

They up-charge everything. They told me it would be $500.00 for brake pads and a rotor. I did a simple google search and found that brake pads are $30.00 and rotors are $60.00 to $70.00. Not only did they try to make 100% profit off of the parts, but they also charge $85.00 per hour for service and take their sweet time. It took them an hour to complete my inspection and an hour to only put one set of brake pads on. They rip people off and I will not be coming back.

On the service provided on scheduling a service appointment and getting a quote online: The response was same day for my service inquiry. The price was the fairest and they were the most attentive to my questions vs 2 other local garages one being the a dealership which specializes in my cars make. I've been a long time customer of this location and I'm constantly recommending them to friends, family & colleagues. They are fast, effecient & trustworthy. They've been taking care of my Impreza for almost 7 years now and I rarely go anywhere else for service (when I do it's because I'm out of town). The manager, Lucas has, always treated me well. When I do hear or read about complaints, it's usually because Oil'n'Go is recommended services that the customer feels is unncessary or they feel is too expensive. Here's the thing: they recommend based off of the OEM's service schedule. If you don't share what's been done to your car previously, they don't have the vehicle's history so they recommend based on your mileage. And regarding prices, shop around. We live in the age of the internet where everything is transparent. You'll find that their prices are competitive (and they offer great discounts via their direct mail coupons). Also, after they finish up an oil change they will bring you over to your car and show you your air filter, coolant info, etc. Depending on who is talking to you, they can come off a little pushy sometimes. Just know that they are looking out for you and your vehicle and you can very easily say "no, I'm all set at this time" or "maybe when I come in for my next oil change". Overall, I'm always pleased when I leave their shop. They've done my oil changes, tire rotations/swaps, brakes, and quite a few other services. The head mechanic, Shawn, is honest and professional. If you ever have any issues with their service please talk to Lucas. He will do his best to make sure you are taken care of.

This place is ok, but over priced and they won't always do what they say they will. Depending on who you get at the counter you might get miss information. I have been here four times now and it's a 50/50 shot if the person is willing to sell me non-synthetic oil. They over estimate time to the point you can't really plan your day. 50 min to get a state inspection and oil change. There were done in 20 min. I am not complain that it was fast, just that they can not quote the amount of time they need at all. My state inspection was also not actually completed. I new I needed wiper blades. The blade on one side was ripped off completely, but they did not notice this. I guess this could have been related to doing the inspection and oil change in 20 min. Make sure you double check work.

Keep great records of all of the service I've had on my car. Always completely honest. Will bring me into the shop to educate and show me what needs to be repaired - never felt like I am being jerked around like I have at other mechanics. Recently had an issue with my car making noise and referred me to the manufacturer since they saw the part was still under warranty so that I could save some money. When the dealership was being difficult (no surprises there), I brought it back free of charge and the owner came out to verify the issue and printed out the known issue with these cars to bring back to the dealership. It wasn't a happy visit for me. The workers are helpful, but may not be that knowledgeable. I went there for an oil change, right after that I got my engine lights on, dropped power and fuel mileage. The oil used may be recycled or dirt. They helped me to clear the engine code (not the real problem). I changed the oil (with synthetic) and filter in another shop and that helped to regain the power and fuel mileage. My suggestion, don't go for a cheap oil change (you may have to spend more after that). Make sure they are using new oil or a synthetic one.

We have been bringing all our cars here since 2005, and I used to drive 1000s of miles a month so was in all the time getting oil changed and all sorts of maintenance and repair issues handled.They always - I mean every single time - go above and beyond to help you solve whatever issue you’re facing. And their solution isn’t necessarily to throw money into it, they get creative and problem solve and actually fix things right! Having spent so many hours in their waiting area I’ve watched the whole team be kind and helpful to every customer even in difficult situations. I could really list them all, but Lucas and Shawn are amazing and really know their stuff. No matter how busy they are they take the time to explain and to actually show you the damage to parts, ect. I’d also add as a woman who’s had cars serviced for some 30 years now that Oil n Go is by far the most honest, comfortable, fair and dare I say, fun to work with. I’ve never felt condescended to or driven away feeling ripped off or unsatisfied.

Took my car in for an oil change and got a new battery put in as well, a few months later the battery was totally dead and when I went in to talk to them about it they said they had no record of putting the battery in my car so they couldn't warranty their work.... Thankfully I kept the receipt and showed them, turns out they entered the wrong make and model and the wrong plates for my car in their computer system, on top of the fact that apparently there were a few steps that were skipped when the battery was put in. In the end I STILL ended up going to autozone to buy another new battery (which the store clerk installed for FREE). Oil n go is just a disorganized disaster and I would suggest trying all other options before resorting to this sorry excuse for a auto shop.

I have been going here for oil changes for 3 years. Until recently I haven't had a problem. Within the last month I've tried to go in for a transmission fluid change for my Dodge Dart. Long story short ended up visiting this place 3 times for this service. I spoke to 3 different employees each one giving me a different answer about whether or not they carry the correct fluid. I finally got in for the service, sat there for 30 minutes only to be told they can't do it because they don't have a special dip stick needed for this model car. Nobody bothered to check and see if they could even properly perform this service after I had spent a month trying to schedule it. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They are accommodating and work fast, BUT they are do a real crappy job. If you want something done right the first time, avoid this place, cause they can't even do a simple job right on the second try. I had to go to them twice to flush some leaves out of my AC system that were causing a lot of noise. The fist time around they took out the blower motor and and not the cabin filter. I took out the cabin filter myself - a dead simple 30 second step - and took the car back to them on the following day to show them what they missed. They redid the work, however the AC was still very noisy. So I inspected the system again and saw that this time they neglected to take out the blower motor! Long story short, I took the system apart and flushed it myself - took ten minutes all in all - and voila, it now blows clean as a whistle.

We are from north carolina, and our cars transmission failed once we got up here. We had it towed to the local dealership and recieved a quote of 1800 to get the car fixed. I decided to get a second quote and my son recommended oil n go. I spoke with a technician named Kyle that my son knows and he was courteous, professional and didn't push me into making a decision in the same way the dealership had. Understanding our situation being stuck without a car out of town they finished the car in one day and saved me 700 dollars compared to the cost of the dealer. They had my car done a half a day before i expected it as well. I am very happy with my experience, and would go back in a minute if i didn't live a thousand miles away

I recently went into Oil n' Go on Shelburne Road in South Burlington for an oil change and a transmission flush. I asked my "backwoods" mechanic friend (who doesn't do oil changes) where to go in town and he suggested the same place I've been going for years: Oil n' Go. I was surprised but reassured. Called first to see if they were busy, the woman who answered was very friendly and helpful. She gave realistic wait times. When I showed up, the gentleman who greeted me did not pressure me to purchase more at all. I was grateful for that. He also didn't judge that I was long overdue for both these service. I was very impressed. My dog was allowed inside with me in their waiting area and as staff popped in and out they were friendly with all the folks who were waiting - even if it wasn't the customer they were directly dealing with. The entire experience was one worth praising. I would highly recommend going here, especially if you aren't as confident in your car knowledge. One thing that really won me over - there was no up sell. In fact, the guy I worked with even said, "No you don't need that." when we discussed the level of work that should be done. I walked out happy feeling like I got a deal and my car was running great. I'll be back in 3,500 miles.

Went in for a transmission flush (against my better judgement) and they managed to fill my engine with transmission fluid. Luckily I discovered what they had done before it had a chance to totally destroy the engine. I am now hundreds of dollars out of pocket for towing, repairing the damage caused, and renting a car in the meantime and their insurance company is dragging their feet. Do not take your car here under any circumstances. I would be much better off today if I had never stepped through their doors.

My experience has been wonderful with Oil N Go! I was greeted within a few seconds of parking my car, and a manager walked me through everything that was done on my first service. He even pointed out some helpful tips on what to prepare (such as my VT vehicle inspection and having a front plate on), since I just moved to Vermont about 3 months ago and am adjusting to the new standards out here. I keep a detailed record of each and every service that my car goes through, including what was done, what the mileage at that time was, and the date of service. A manager, Alden, walked me through my car's history and cross referencing with the manual, we worked out a plan for keeping my car in great shape, and keeping on top of the great deals that are offered here. This is an incredible place to have your car serviced, but just like with any product or service, the more you know about it, the better experience you will have. They are very knowledgeable here about what they are doing, and if you know your car's maintenance history, you will have just as great of an experience as I did. Thank you Oil N Go!
