He is not pushy in any way and truly made the experience about what my wife and I were looking for. I would certainly work with him again although like I mentioned if this was a review for the dealership management team it would not be 5 stars. 5 Stars to Armel.

Customer service sucks! Good luck getting warranty work fix right. And they dented and scratched my truck before i even got it off the lot or had the keys in hand. Then just want to do body work instead of replace the brand new truck. Now im paying 63,000 dollars on a truck with major issues and body work. I should have bought a used truck! Stay clear of capital city! Find another dealership!

update, just found out the truck I bought in July, used won't go into 4 Low..called at 8 a.m yesterday and left a message to make an apt to have it fixed... under 12,000 miles , 12 months. NO CALL BACK..probably pissed because of my review...even tried to trade this truck in to Toyota but I owe more than it's worth....OMG... salesman showed me a truck I KNEW I couldn't afford but promised me he could find financing..... well after 5 days of driving this truck I brought it back... knowing it wouldn't happen.... so surprise they had the perfect truck for me.. a truck that had obviously been traded in the day before.. smelled like an ashtray.( still does when it's damp). burn hole In drivers seat... parts missing ( oh and ordered. NOT). no manual... that is another nightmare... so 2 weeks after buying it I had to spend 100 bucks to get the tailgate to stay shut... did NOT want to deal with them anymore... so mad at myself for not going to Toyota..oh and then I talked to the sales manager about getting a manual and was told he would find me one but to check in with him in a week... surprise !!!! never heard from him... and now my check engine light is on and it's due for inspection.. AND I have NO frigging manual to check .... I will be visiting this terrible place if I have to pay more to get it inspected.. oh and salesman made me think I was getting this extra coverage for parts etc as part of the deal well guess what .. it cost 2000 bucks... I owe 10,000 more than it's worth.... don't go there especially if you are a woman....

I would give this dealership a minus in stars. We were tricked into a lease and given only a lousy $100 for our trade. They pushed the paperwork on us and never went over the details so didn't notice the outrageous trade in value until we got home. Called them and got no call back. Called again the next day and finally got a call back and was told it was too bad, the paperwork was signed and that we could do nothing about it. Drove down there from our home about 45 min. away and talked to the manager Devin and was still told the paperwork was all signed and nothing could be done. No sorry, no trying to make things right. Will absolutely never do business again there and will let everyone we know NOT to go there. Worse experience ever. Lost a lot of sleep over this one. They took our car and will probably sell it for $10,000. When I told Devin that, he said probably not that much. Well it's a hell of a lot more that $100.

Capital City GMC is a joke of a place!!!! I have hated them since 2009 and my darling husband chose to buy his truck there (what ever I definitely didn't want to give them my business or money but obviously I have no say in these matters) today it took them an hour and a half for a pre-scheduled oil change....... I sat in the lobby with my small children FOR an hour before I got rather PISSED.... I'm pretty sure they did not start the service till I brought my children in from the closed waiting room to the service center to ask what was going on. FURTHER MORE you spend 30,000 on a vehicle and they can't supply a SPARE TIRE????? What is that? We were told 3 weeks ago it was ordered and on its way.... OH well I guess the sales man that sold HIM the truck has been "let go" and they see no documentation of a spare tire being ordered and I guess we are S.O. L!!!!! Just horrible!!

I needed a new car after my lease ended and I found one on the website, spoke to colby and he brought it to work so I could test drive it during my lunch. After I decided to purchase it, he did all the financing, got all the info from me and all I had to do was sign some forms and drove off the lot. The finance manager was very nice as well- I love my new car and very relieved car shopping is over with! colby made it very smooth.

Honestly the worst experience I've had so far at a dealership. The sales representative's I had were super pushy and don't even give you a chance to talk. The guy I had didnt even listen to what I had to say as well. The guy had me do everything ass backwords he had me go thru all the paperwork before we even looked at trucks. And then after they try choosing a truck for me and show me two junk trucks I finally told them I would like to start looking at there inventory so we stop wasting time with the junk trucks. Then we go inside and the manager still didnt give me a chance to find the truck I wanted, he still was choosing trucks for me. So the last truck I look at I ended up liking. So we get to the prices of the truck I want and the value of my trade in, they give me the value of my trade in and then i told them that the truck they were trying to sell me was to much, then they lowered the price of the truck then changed the value of my truck by more then 90% difference. They play headgames and mind f you to the point then basicallyy make you sign the papers. But good thing I didn't sign....thats crazy!! Glad I saved my money and can spend it elsewhere.

Misleading Marketing = Lies I received a Capitol City marketing flyer in the mail the other day. It showed 4 levels (rows) of prizes ($10,000, $500, $100, and $5 VT Lottery scratch ticket). In line (exactly matching) with those four prize levels were four rows of names which could be revealed by using the red glasses that came attached to the flyer. My name matched twice on the row that was next to the $100 prize level. I was skeptical and had 3 other people look to see if they also thought that I’d won $100. All agreed that my name was listed twice right next to the $100 cash prize. I then called the dealership and spoke with Jay Tanner, telling him that it looked like I’d won $100 and wanted to make sure this was legitimate before I made the dark rainy drive to Berlin. He said “Congratulations, come on in. This is totally legitimate.” I was very clear that I didn’t want to buy a car and he said that was no problem at all. At no point did he tell me that matching rows did not mean matching prizes. So I left work early and drove over. Upon arrival I met Scott Campbell, who was very friendly but told me that the prize levels didn’t match up to the names that were *right next to them, row by row*. I let him know that I thought this was dishonest marketing and he agreed that it could be “misinterpreted”. He took my information and then led me into an office to check my code vs the prize poster. Not surprisingly (at that point), I won a $5 scratch ticket instead of the promised $100. I then let the person in that office (whose name I did not get) know how this was misleading and false advertising. He told me that I was not the first person to express that concern and that they would not be using this promotion company again. I understand that marketing campaigns are often sketchy or downright dishonest, and it is really up to the buyer to beware. My main complaint is that I told Jay Tanner on the phone that I thought I won $100 and he never asked why I thought that this was the case. Instead, he let me drive over 80 miles round trip with only a $5 scratch ticket to show for my time and gas money. I wish I could say that I won something on the scratch ticket but I did not. I present this as a cautionary tale. I know nothing about Capitol City Auto's cars. But I can say with no doubt at all that based on this marketing campaign, I would NEVER purchase anything from them or recommend that someone even waste their time looking. Pass them by and try to find someone honest.

I bought my 2016 canyon in October 2016. It had a deep scatch on the passenger door. Joe the salesman said they would take care of it. Well i brought it up to get an oil change and truck wash. When i got it back there was a scratch on the hood. I called them to let them know. Thats all i got from Scott the service manager was im sorry. Stating that has never happened before. Making it sound like i did it. So i brought it up on monday the 19th of june. I was told by mark at the body shop that the scratch was to deep to buff. Both on the door and hood. I as well noticed a scratch on the roof. As well as that is to deep to buff. It needs a paint job. I was told by joe that they wont pay for it. I asked to talk with Mr. Farr and was told he isnt available. How is it my responsibility to pay for something i didnt do.? What kind of business is this? Sell a vehicle then your on your own???? I was told to buy from you. BIG MISTAKE. Customer service is real bad. I want my truck fixed as promised. I will be contacting corparate headquarters as well as bbb. I went to Capital City first thing in the morning, and was greeted in the parking lot by Armel. I told him what I was looking for, he spoke with the sales manager and they found a truck that matched my needs and budget. 3 hours later I drove home in a different truck than I showed up in. Less than 100 miles later I had to bring the truck back to have a wheel bearing replaced, they fixed it and I got the truck back by the end of the day. Armel was personable and very helpful with repairing the truck, he even arranged for a shuttle to pick me up from work so I could get my truck before closing time. He was upfront with me and understands Vermont is a small state with big ears. So thank you Armel it was a pleasure doing business with you.

Very pushy sales team ("Professionals") that takes advantage of and prey on people with less than perfect credit. They back you into a corner and basically scare you and make you sign contracts under extreme duress. They sell used junks with many problems that have not even been through the shop to be checked out yet. I'm not saying don't go there, just be forewarned.

Went to several different dealers and each one pushed the most expensive trucks on me. All were nice and I liked them but they didn't fit my specific needs. I finally went to Capital City GMC and they listened to my needs! Found the perfect truck! And to top it all off they were struggling to get me approved for a loan but they never gave up! They intentionally misrepresent prices on their website to get you in there, and then they pull the switch and forget what they went over to ask the manager about. Some good some bad, I had issues with the truck pulling to the right that I basically had to fix out of my pocket through your dealership who had their heads up where the sun don't shine, what happened to marketing a sound vehicle from the start, I felt like all they wanted me to do was ring the damn bell before everything was somewhat right, and not much give and take for price and trade, I rate this deal 1-9 as a 3 at best. I got a truck that will work for me but the more I get to know it the more issues crop up, tail gate , back bumper bent, scratches and dents, holes in the bed, holes in the dash,etc etc, Ford mud flaps, come on man, no attention to detail on marketing a quality product, some of that stuff should have been made aware of at least, you owe me mudflaps to say the very least

I stopped today, 1 May 15 to see what this dealership had for trucks. The sales person, Joe Lee. met us in the lot and showed us a used truck. We were interested and asked the price. Joe threw out several "about" prices and when we pinned him down for the actual price he brought us in the office to get it. Joe also told us he had another vehicle on his other lot just down the road and could get it for us. He indicated the lot was toward Montpelier. When in the office, Joe filled out a form to give to the business manager for review. We indicated we did not want any credit inquiry before we knew the price and we had our trade in valued. Joe told us it was only a soft inquiry and would not affect our credit. They ran the report twice because they said they could not find any rating. We did not ever find out the price for the truck. We also did not see the truck on their other lot just down the road because it was in LITTLETON, NH!!!!! When we arrived home, we found out that the credit inquiry the did was in fact a HARD inquiry!!!. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE LIARS!!!! I called to talk to the GM and he did not even care to hear what the issue was!!!!! If you have any issues, please file a complaint with the Vermont Consumer Assistance Program, 146 University Place, Burlington, VT 05405.

Salesman wasn't forthcoming with information and after more research, found it was an entry level work truck with carpeting. When we decided a few weeks later we wanted to upgrade to a better truck as the truck drove like an under-powered tank was told it was the depreciation of our NEW truck that was the problem, not the upgrade that was costing us so much more money. After multiple communications, realized I was going nowhere with the salesman or sales manager. Wasn’t lied to, just not told the whole truth. Two months later I get a call out of the blue saying they read our email communication and wanted to get us out of our truck so we would be satisfied. After three more days of back and forth, they tell me to drive the truck until we have 6-12 months left on the lease and then they'll get me out (three years from now). Didn't even offer me an option. Then told me to contact GM myself (isn't that their job as a dealer). Let me reiterate, THEY CALLED ME and then left me hanging again. It was all about the sales number and not customer satisfaction as they tried to make me believe. This week I tried to trade the truck in to two other competitors and was told I have a $12K depreciation to deal with, for my 2016 GMC I bought in June with 6000 miles on it. I guess they realize the same value in the truck that I have found. And with all the year end specials, Capitol City has made no effort to correct the situation. Mr Ed Farr GM tells everyone in comments below that "customer satisfaction is our 100% priority", as does Ronnie and Abel in their advertisements. I've emailed Mr Farr three times and received no response. Lip service. They’ll say anything to get you to buy and then not stand behind it. Hence my review on Google. Save yourself the aggravation. UPDATE:1/12/17 - The "canned" response below is obviously a cut-n-paste from a previous review as it does nothing to address, explain or respond to the issues. I've already emailed him three times and he hasn't responded. UPDATE:1/26/17 - Finally a satisfied customer. Traded the POS GMC for a competitor's truck. Took a financial hit, but this is over. Will never buy another GM product, purchase anything from Autosaver Group and definitely not purchase or recommend Capitol City. WORST auto dealer/company I've ever worked with.

The ABSOLUTE WORST buying experience I have ever had. I bought a 2016 GMC 2500HD on March 18, 2016. They lied to me, and they stole from me. I went down the next day to get the problem resolved after I had gotten home and realized what had happened. It's like I don't exist. It's now April 12, 2016, and no response. I even reached out to the owner Abel Toll, no response. Nice way to treat someone after spending over $50k. Travis does not want to own up to the fact that he lied and stole from me. Just remember the Autosaver Group owns 7-9 other dealerships. I would imagine training is the same through out. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I truly hate giving a business a bad review, as I own one as well, but I was brought up to be honest and have integrity. Something Capitol City GMC and Autosaver Group does not have.

I bought a 2016 GMC Terrain, they took my down payment and got me the wrong vehicle it took 3 weeks to get the right vehicle to fix their mess up. Then I financed through them using ally bank and decided to refinance at a better rate I cancled my gap insurance and talked to ally that told me the sent my refund to Capital city so I called Capital city and spoke to a lady named Nary that told me she would look into it and call me back no call back I then called two more times and left messages with no call back I figured. No one would call back due to the fact no one would call me back when I bought my vehicle . I would never buy or do business with Capital city ever again. Then I'm told by the same guy he talked to Nary and she states Ally bank will send me the refund check although Ally states the already sent the check to Capital city no one will give me a a sewer. My next step is to file a complaint with better business.bureau.

Received a call indicating they wanted to buy my 2015 vehicle back towards a 2017. Arranged for an appraisal to be done while it was there for regular service however when I went to pick it up and meet with the sales staff, no one had looked at the vehicle and they seemed not to know why I was there. Continued anyway and began to work towards a new vehicle. Filled out our paperwork and then overheard the entire sales staff standing around the manager's desk discussing our personal information from across the room while they all ate Wendy's! Definitely not comfortable having our information discussed openly. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Buyer beware. The meet and greet team team before you even enter is a bit desperate. Once in the door if you have an "appointment " with a specific person forget that. They pan you off to the bottom feeders . I drove 2 hours for an internet special. That person called in sick. He told me to ask for someone who was brought in by corporate. He promptly handed me over to a bottom feeder who insisted I go back out to the car rather than him doing so-to get thr exact mileage. It was a disaster completely. That bottom feeder told me I the price was not correct-after I found the exact ad on the internet. Finally showed me the vehicle but I decided since he told me the price listed was no where close and $4,000 more! Than the listed to walk away! He had the gaul to hold on my keys! And the nerve to say I had to be respectful!!!Guy should be fired. Fire cracker.

I've brought my truck for service to Capitol City since I bought it new there in 2016. I received the "Big Deal" when purchasing my vehicle, as I understood this was a 3-year free oil changes and inspections, which all up until this service have been. When I picked my truck up after the oil change I received a bill for $60.00 for an oil change. I said to the service member, "you must be mistaken, I have the "Big Deal". He assured me that I was wrong and I had run out of free service. This really irritated me, if there's an offer for free service for 3-years it should be clearly stated that there is a limited amount, or at least notify the person to make them aware when they're at their final one. For the simplest thing, and lack of customer communication, I will not bring my vehicle back for service, and this experience will affect whether I purchase another vehicle there or not.

I recently bought a GMC Sierra 1500 from Capital City Buick GMC. Let me start off by saying I will never, let me repeat, NEVER buy from them again. I felt very forced to buy the truck ( although it was the one I wanted). Less than 2 weeks after I purchased the truck, I had a check engine light come on. I called them and they said that they wouldn't fix it, and on top of that they wanted to charge me 85$ just to see what caused the light to come on. Bryson was the sales person who sold me the vehicle; He promised multiple times I would get a spare key and said he would send it in the mail. I still have no key. None of my phone calls get answered and none of my messages returned. Needless to say worst buying experience from a dealership.

So, I get home and pull up to my mailbox. 7 degrees and I reach in to get the mail and underneath is a big piece of plastic (the Capital City "ad"). All my mail slides off into the snow. Now I'm stuck with wet mail and a large non-recyclable flyer. I wonder if the Post Office will return it for me. Grrr, not happy.

Don't buy GMC unless you want to take a 12K hit when you drive off the lot! Those 'big deal' rebates in reality are merely falsely inflated numbers that make whatever vehicle you buy worth exactly less the rebate amount once you sign the papers. I went back to trade in a 8K mile 6 month old truck and they only offered me 31K even though it was a 43K truck when new, nice investment eh? They're like every other stealership out there. Go with a Toyota, those trucks HOLD their value! Final thought, beware car salesmen, beware of them all...

Atrocious. 4 hours for and oil change and change of tires. They didn't fix the grinding noise at start/idle and through different gears. Said they couldn't duplicate issue at this time. Total bs and horrible customer service. Would NOT recommend.
