I would give this place zero stars if possible. My son had extensive work done to his car. When I went to pick the car up and pay, the system went down. As I was waiting for the computers to recover, I heard yelling in the parking lot. An obviously mentally ill vagrant was yelling at an employee in the parking lot. My husband and 2 year old daughter were in the car and witnessed it. I finally told the woman I did not feel safe and my family was in the car. I ran out to my car and witnessed an EMPLOYEE go after this man with a big hunting knife with a green handle. Once I saw this, we fled! I’ve never been so scared in my life. Several days later, I spoke with the manager. His name is Mike. He told me the mentally ill man had a gun and his employees were defending themselves. There are several problems with this story: 1. I almost ran into the mentally ill man when I ran out of the store, he didn’t have a gun. 2. My husband was sitting in the car with a front row view and also did not see a gun. 3. Who in their right minds goes after a man with a gun, with a knife?? 4. The mentally ill man had left. There was no reason for the EMPLOYEE to go after this man and if the mentally ill man was so dangerous, why would he anyway?? Mike, the store manger was belligerent and how he obtained a leadership position is a mystery. When I called to complain, he concocted this crazy story, insulted me and was screaming at me. He was screaming at me so loud, I hung up. My family and I had been traumatized and he was screaming at ME? My 2 year old saw his employee running after a mentally ill vagrant with a knife!?!? He never even apologized, he was absolutely awful! I called corporate to complain and was told the district manger would give me a call. That NEVER happened. It seems the faulty leadership goes all the way up. I will never step foot in another Pep Boys. Additionally, I don’t even think my son’s car even needed the alternator they placed on his car. Come to find out he had a faulty connection to his battery. Do NOT take your car here, try Raleigh Tire. They are professional, courteous, and honest.

1 got new brakes and rotors from this place and within 7 months I started getting very bad vibrations when breaking. Took the car to them and and they said nothing was wrong with the breaks. The cause were bad shocks and struts and the cost was 1,850 to replace them. Went to another place and they identified the problem. One of the rotors was warped they machined it for 120 dollars. I believe they did this to avoid fixing the issue because it was still under warranty.

On June 26 I bought 2 tires & after a couple of weeks I noticed that I had a leak & on July 19 I stopped by the store where I bought the tires & asked them to fix the leak & i was told they were too busy. I called back on tn 25th & was told I should make an appointment, I did for 09:00 on the 26th. That morning they called & told me that I needed to reschedule as the tech called in sick. I understand that problems will arise but busy or not they should have fixed the tire when I came in the first time. The money I saved on the tires was was great but when followed by poor customer service you will lose customers.

My wife used Pep Boys at 8529 Highway 64 in Memphis Tn. She was very impressed with the service she received. The manager Mike Cox was very helpful. So I thought I would give them a try. and again.. we were very pleased. Mike took care of my vehicle in a timely manner. When my truck was ready. I didn't have a way to pick it up. He volunteered to pick me up on his way to work the next morning. Its good to know we have a place we are confident in . Getting our car/trucks repaired and Customer service all in one!! Thank you Mike Cox and Pep Boys.

Never again will I visit this establishment!! I visited this location on a Saturday to have some tires mounted, my appointment was 9am and I didn’t leave until 1pm. At 11, I asked how much longer would it be, i was told 30 min. After another hour and a half I asked for another update just to be told the wrong studs were sent from the warehouse which is 30 minutes away!!! I had to ask..they didn’t have to decency to come and let me know. Tired of waiting, I asked could i drive on what I had..the MANAGER said yes but to bring my car back the following weekend so he can install the one stud, he would fit me in no matter how busy it is because it won’t take long and a bay isn’t needed for that service. Just leaving and no stud..i was told they were too busy and couldn’t get to it. Thanks Pep Boys for being concerned for your customers and their families. Can’t give you 0 stars but let it be known you’re AWFUL.

Love them fast service! Great job! Chris helped me and he is very fast and great knew more about my car then I did! We got a plane for all my repairs to be done and how to save money by doing some of them together.

Horrible horrible service. Don’t expect to have something done at the time they tell you. You will have to wait an extra 2 hours for it to be done. Then they tell you that you have to wait another 1 or 2 more. This place has some of the worse communication skills and service ever. PLEASE don’t go here. They will lie to you and then get smart because you called them out on it. Supposedly got an alignment and had to wait almost 4 hours when there was nothing going on. Now my vehicle is still not aligned properly and my vehicle is making sounds it never has made before. DON’T GO HERE.

I was very pleased with the service at Pep Boys. I brought my vehicle in for a drained battery. They quickly got my vehicle in the shop and charged my battery, while testing out the electrical system. I brought it back again for a tune up and they took care of it while giving me a fair price and not trying to sell me on other unnecessary maintenance. I had a great customer experience.

Worse customer service that I ever seen. The service manager Jerry Craft argued with every customer that came in the shop if they question his response. They do not honor agreements made by previous owner. Will not be returning

First time I was here, left with grease all over the carpet and door post. Thought I would try again. Had a 3 o'clock appointment and was told it would be 60 to 90 minutes wait. NOT! Told him to cancel it. As I stormed out, I caught the manager. He said he would do it when the next bay opened. 30 minutes later still waiting. If the counter guy moved faster than a sloth and spoke where you could hear him he might be of some value. Will not be a third chance.

I was initially turned off because the guy at the front counter was seemed as if he didn't want to be at work. After being told my tire would take 4 hours to be ready it was finished in about an hour. It was an over good experience though.

Ordered 4 tires and set up an appointment. Stopped by to check on the tires and found that they had not been ordered. Got them ordered again and came in for my appointment. 4 tires on 1 axle and have been sitting here for 3 hours. Still not done. This is ridiculous. If the tech moves any slower, a back up alarm would be going off. Terrible service .

Walked in to ask question about getting some repairs and the guy at the counter ( tall heavy set white male) was completely rude to the couple in front of me. After they just walked out I stepped up to the counter to ask a question and he interrupted me in a very rude manner, so taking into consideration that he was rude to the people in front of me. I just said thank you and walked out. Should have known there was a problem when I noticed not one vehicle in the bay...bad business. He shouldnotbe at the front counter.

5:39 PM Called Pepboys on 64 was told price range -- 150-250 for the repair -- but they would not be able to do the repair till monday due to staffing.. was referred to call --Pleasant View -- Because they should be able to get it fixed since I needed to head out of town for military... 5:48 PM Called Pepboys on Pleasant View - / was told would be looked right at open and then would call me by 10.. and should be fixed same day.. as long as I wanted to go through the repair.. ----- I Have military training That I had to go to ---- I stressed the importance--- 6:21 PM Confirmed that I will be heading that way and will bring keys in the morning. 07:12 AM - Arrived at pep boys next morning. To Drop off my keys and to check in.. process was easy and was told we will get to it shortly. 10:00 - Nothing 12:00 - Still NO Call 12:11 - No Answer 12:13 - I called back and Got a blanket answer basically telling me that they have not even looked at my car... and forgot even what I said was wrong with it... I re stated that I know it needed new Belt like I told the same gentleman at check-in.. I head it break. The rep then said give me 10 min and I will call you back.... 3:00 - Still NO call... 3:04 - I call.... they then said it will need a new belt and the prices is 384... I was a little off by the price and then questioned it... after questioning it.. They said... "Well how does 284 sound".... Im thinking .. do you mark up everything by 100 to take advantage of people.. I than asked about military discount they said yes... 10%... They then said "man I suck at math..." I said you can just subtract it by 28 to give an estimated price..... So I ask when can I pick it up.. I am then told Monday... but probably Tuesday.. ... -----What Happened to Today?----- I was then told they should be looking at it soon.... 7:00 There Closed and have not received all call at all about my repair 11:43 There Closed today..... and im thinking Why was I told to go to this location... 9:47 Received a Phone Call --- 1222.97 - told them it was to high and that they needed to work out the orice 10:00 Put me on hold 10:04 Quote of $950 be done around 3PM 4:54PM Got a call that my car is ready for pickup 6:18 PM Arrived to pickup my car Overall they were nice but the experience was god awful and have lost faith in this company.

On a recent road trip from Texas to New Jersey our car started making a strange noise. We knew that we had to get it checked out ASAP. We used Google to search a mechanic nearby. As our steering wheel became harder to steer my wife and I knew it was not looking good. We were so glad to arrive to the mechanic that google suggested. Of course, that mechanic was so rude and wouldn’t even take a look at our car and showed zero compassion towards us even after telling him we were not from TN. (Arlington Automotive if you’re curious). With little options left and the steering wheel beginning to lock on us even more we drove it 15 minutes to the nearest Pep Boys. Honestly, we were not too convinced because of the reviews it has but we went in on faith. When we arrived we were greeted by Mr. Craft (Lester) and he instantly made us feel more comfortable. It was close to closing time and he knew the importance of us getting back on the road. He assured us that him and his team will try their best to fix the issue. While we waited he pointed us to the nearest shops, restaurants, etc.. He was great. Needless to say, we were back on the road and made it to New Jersey safe! Thank you Lester and team for the great laughs and great hospitality.

Low rating for multiple reasons and I will not return: 1) Older front desk associate told us our oil change would take an hour to complete (we came in around 11:40 A.M.) and here it is 2:00 P.M., which our car is still being worked on. The associate also told other customers wrong timelines. 2) Front desk associate showed favoritism to a younger woman, who I guess was in a rush to get to work. We came in before her with only needing an oil change and the younger lady got out before us with a full set of tires. 3) Lastly, the front desk PepBoy associate took a phone call over us and later justified the phone call by saying "...I had to take it." As a business scholar with backed professional experience, you do not put other things before the customer. He knew we already waited a ridicuously long time for the service overall (2 hr 20 min) and he still decided to make us wait longer with a 20 minute phone call! He non-verbally told me that my business was not important. He continued to baffle me more by having random conversations with other customers who just walked in instead of paying us out. How inconsiderate can a person be? I am extremely dissatisfied. I am not a local Memphian, I am from rural Texas, and when somebody tells you they will do something within a prescribed timeline, they do what they say. Maybe it is different in big city Memphis. Essentially, the underlying issue is that the front desk associate is lying to keep business when he is aware that he is down personnel, thus resulting in longer wait times. Instead of doing the ethically right thing (conducting good business practices) by being upfront and honest with customers, he lied to make people happy in the short-term, hoping the customers will stay and wait it out, given they have already waited so long. This is my first and absolute last time I give a PepBoys my business. I hope somebody big sees this and goes "scorch Earth" on the place.

Was up charged on a oil change. I wasn’t informed of the price difference until after the service was done. When this was a Goodyear store the people would let you know if there was any hidden fees and would ask you if you still wanted the service done. Beware of this practice at this location.

If I could rate this company a zero, i would. They are a bunch of crooks. They sold maintenance plans under the old mathis tire name and now refuse to honor the agreement. Filed a complaint with the BBB and the response was, they assumed the assets of the company and not liability. Thats like you getting a loan with a bank for 500.00 and the bank never deposits the funds. #THEIVES#LIARS#RIPOFF...take your business elsewere. ...Also, the management (Mike) and staff are rude and very unprofessional.
