Very friendly and professional. I had a dent on the inside of my rear wheel that was causing some vibration. The Tire Tech noticed it and worked hard to minimize the vibration. He came out and spoke with me concerning the dent in the vibration. Very professional. Very clean Tire store.

Last month it took me 90 minutes for the free tire rotation that came with my car tires when I was told it was be 30-45. Today, my wife's SUV had 2 low tires and was due for a tire rotation. It was the TPMS sensors causing the leaks and I was told the parts were cheapest at Advance Auto next door. I told them I had to be out by 2:00 to pick up my son at school, but at 2:05 they were still trying to program the sensors. They also forgot to rotate the tires. I was the only person waiting in their lobby for over 2 hours with 2 technicians and 3 cars in the back. If they would have apologized about forgetting the rotation I would have been fine, but no apology and now I have to go somewhere else and pay for the rotation and to have the TPMS sensors programmed...we will not be going back to Pope-Davis. Save $10 on tires and pay for it in the long run.

We take all our vehicles here despite moving and this location being on the other side of town. I've had nothing but great service here and the bills always end up much less than I anticipated. Lobby looks professional so you'll have a decent place to hang out if you're stuck waiting on a repair. I've sat on 20 year old grease covered couches at other mechanics before. This is way better.

Was told first come first serve. Arrived prior to opening, still had to wait 45 minutes. Finished my vehicle in approximately 30 minutes, problem was not repaired, will have to take back. Staff friendly.

My daughter had a flat tire a little over 100 yards from the store her spare was flat so she could not get the car there. She asked if they could put air in it so she could bring it to them they said no. She asked them if they would put the new tire on since she couldn't get the car to them. They said it would be a 50.00 charge. In my book this is very poor service! Shame on you...update they call my daughter and apologize for her experience. I think this was very professional if them. So I think they do care about you.

Was visiting Lexington, SC from Ohio and had stopped at Advanced Auto Parts next to Pope Davis the day before to have my 03 Ford Focus battery and alternator checked. When the car wouldn't start after the test, Advance recommended Pope Davis and were considerate to let my car sit overnight in the parking lot. I visited the auto shop upon opening on 06/16/17 and when they saw the situation and that they were able to assist, they contacted their tow affiliate, had the vehicle brought around on site and the Service Staff pushed my vehicle into a bay and on a lift. Pope Davis worked with Advanced Auto for a starter and configured a more than reasonable cost for diagnostic and repair. Seeing them go the extra mile to care for me and my work vehicle without having partiality as one from out of state, was a relief. And seeing the Managers from the shop and the parts store walk to each other to communicate was an encouragement to witness the founded relationship between the businesses. If in town or from out of town, they are worth contacting to see if they can meet the need. From this motorist who has been traveling for work, they have definitely been a relief from the travels. Thanks to everyone who helped that day and as for the update on the starter, one month in and it has been working wonderfully. Thanks!

Vehicle was running prior to taking it to Pope Davis. Over $2000 later and now the car doesn't even run. Pope Davis suggested trading it in for another vehicle. A 2013 with 80,000 miles is garbage now thanks to the work Pope Davis did. Don't ever take your vehicle there!!

Worst experience at a tire shop in my life. I did not buy my tires from them but took the truck up there for a rotation and balance. Price was fair but service sucked. Dropped the car off at 8:45 am on Saturday and left it with them to go do a few things. I called them at 1:30 to ask if my truck was done they said no it has not been done it will be done at 3:30 and they close at 4:00. Show up at 3:15 and the truck had litteraly just been put on lift. So at 3:50 my rotation and balance is done and I can leave. Thankfully I did not have to sit there and wait on my truck but come on, almost 7 hours for a rotation and balance. I understand it’s prob busy on saturdays but I have never in my life had it take that long for a rotation and a balance. That is why I do all of my own work on my vehicles but have no equipment to do tires. Will never think about using a pope Davis location again and I will never recommend anyone going here. Good thing they didn’t have to actually put tires on my truck or do an alignment I wouldn’t have had my truck for a week.

Have been taking my vehicles there since they opened Recently had my truck there for a alignment dropped of on Tuesday late so didn’t expect it to be done until Wednesday afternoon, called on Thursday was told that it would be Monday apparently some miss communication. No big deal I had a vehicle I was borrowing. Called Monday still wasn’t ready I called Tuesday was told would be ready at lunch. Picked it up Tuesday and got a quote on tires for the truck. All good until today when I had the truck at another shop who suggested an alignment I told them I had that done a few weeks back was told it was not done so basically I paid Pope Davis for a job that was never done. I work hard for my money as I’m sure a lot of people do and can’t afford to just throw money away if they didn’t want to do the work should have just told me to take elsewhere not half way do the job and take my $. I had always been treated great at Pope Davis before and David is pretty friendly and knowledgeable. But now I don’t know if I will return or not.

Just wanted to say thanks . $2100.00 later and now due to your work my Daughter's car isnt worth fixing. Pleas tell me how putting a turbo on now the car has more problems than when it came in? It is insane but you sure charged her as much as you could. I've lived in Lexington along time and alot of you that will read this review know me and my family very well. You know I'm not the type to be negative about any business that are in our community and doing a good job. I'm the first to promote local business. But these guys at Pope Davis are as dishonest and as crooked as they come. So now they are willing to install a new engine at cost with a low labor rate.hmmmmm so if your work is correct why now are you willing to do this? I know because your Technician created the problem. And you bought the parts from Autozone? Wow the car is less than 5 years old. Neighbors beware. If you value your vehicle run away from this group.

I prefer to do the work on my vechicle myself but when i don't have the time to i take it to Pope Davis. Every experience has been a good one. When dropping your vechicle off the staff is very attentive to you while explaining the problem. If anything happens i get a call so i know what's going on with my car. I had a couple of maintenance things done. I did not have an appointment but they took me in anyway. The said it would take about two hours but it took a lot less. The price was the best of the three places I got estimates from. The work was done well. I will be returning next month for four new tires because of the service I received. I highly recommend.

I called on April 10 to see what it would cost to get a front end alignment and the tires rotated. The cost quoted over the phone was $100.00. A little more than other places but this place is within walking distance. I brought the car in at 8am on April 11 and they said it would be completed sometimes during the day. I asked for a front end alignment and have the tires rotated. I received a call that the car work was complete. The bill was $110.00 and some change. I was curios why it was more than the original quote. So. while the counter woman was charging my card I reached over the counter and grabbed to service report. It said front end alignment and oil change. Nothing was listed as tires being rotated. When she returned with my card I mentioned that we had just had the oil changed two weeks ago and that I had requested an alignment and tires rotated. I ask her if they indeed did rotate the tires. She said yes they had. I then asked if they looked at the brake pads. She remarked that they always check pads when the tires are taken off. She apologized and credited back the charge for the oil change. She printed the edited receipt and stapled the card transaction to the report. On the way out I looked to see the charges were removed for the oil change and verify they did as I asked. Nothing was written on service report about tire rotation. When I got to the car, I inspected the tires and it was obvious they had not rotated the tires. I went back in and had the woman come out and see what I saw. They took the car back and rotated the tires. I now know they didn't inspect the brake pads. April 14, 2019 followup. The car that this screw up happened to belongs to my son. He went out of town for five days and that is why I had the service work because he was out for five days. After I drove the car back to the house I parked it in the driveway and it sat there until he got back home today on April 14. He pointed out some stains on the driveway under his car. I crawled under the car and took some photos. The stain was oil. I checked the drain plug and I could turn it with my hand. I got a wrench and tightened it up. Out of all the times I have gotten oil changes in my life time never has this happened. If this had not been spotted by my son, it could have led to complete engine failure. I'm getting an attorney. This is negligence pure and simple. If I could give negative numbers I would.

Normally this place is pretty good I've been here in the past to have my car worked on and they've been great and fast. They have now had my car for a week and half I've had to call numerous times to figure out what's going on with the car. I called Thursday and was told the part they needed to fix my ac had arrived 45 minutes prior to me calling. I was told it was a 6 hour process it would be done Friday afternoon. No call Friday I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I called back Saturday. Come to find out the part they needed didn't come in and the company the part was coming from was closed on weekends and wouldn't reopen until Tuesday, did to the labor day holiday. I give them some more time and I call back Wednesday my car still isn't done I was told that they stopped working on my car and worked on my relatives car bc he needed it fixed same day. What should have been a 6 hour process to fix has taken multiple days and it's unacceptable. I will not recommend this place to anyone after this fiasco and then telling me my car won't be ready until Saturday now.

Took my Vehicle in for an oil change, shortly after I noticed a fresh oil spot in my driveway. Upon further investigation the oil was leaking from the drain plug. Took it back to Pope Davis in Lexington to check the leak. I was told by the girl over the phone that “they were able to fix it this time but I would have problems in the future”. I went in to pick it up, the guy at the front said “ the seal on the oil plug was on weird” and it was fixed now. Got the vehicle home, still leaking oil.... Took it upon myself to Remove drain plug and see what was going on. They had put an oversized plug in there and the seal was busted. They did nothing to fix what they damaged and lied about it in the process. Pope Davis in Lexington is not honest, they will damage your vehicle and take no responsibility for it. I recommend taking your vehicle across the street to Kestner Automotive. Pope Davis in Lexington is shady and can’t be trusted. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Editing my previous review for clarity.... Three consecutive service appointments. Brought my car in for a 7:30 appt. asked when I should expect it and was told "before lunch". Didn't hear a word from them so at 4:30 I call only to find out that they haven't even started. Ended up waiting around until nearly 6 (they close at 5:30) to get my car. On the most recent visit, they never did get to it, so Ieft it overnight with the understanding that it would be ready by 11 the next day. At 11, they hadn't even begun to look at it. I ended up getting it back at 1:30, which caused me to be late for a job and subsequently lose money. I know mechanics get backed up. I know stuff happens. But stuff seems to happen EVERY time I go there. And if they would communicate with me upfront about it, I might be a little more receptive. As it is, they over promise and under-deliver. And as a result, my kids have missed sports practice and I've been very late for work.

I highly recommend that you take your car anywhere but the Pope Davis, Lexington location. We know that we all make mistakes & we are big believers of grace. We believe in giving people the opportunity to make things right. Unfortunately, they are not interested in doing the right thing. I had a great experience at the downtown location a couple of years ago (& have friends who will only have their automotive repairs done there) so I advised my daughter to bring her car to the Lexington location, as it is near our home. After keeping her car for almost 5 weeks and taking more than $2000 they admittedly ended up causing significant damage to the engine. In the end, they told my daugghter that she should just trade in her car because it's not worth fixing. Her 5 year old car, with 80k miles! I truly do not understand how they can get away with taking thousands of dollars for a service that they were unable, incapable or unwilling to provide. The shop mgr, David, is incredibly dishonest and does NOT do what he says he will do. A lot of Lexington, W Columbia, & Columbia folks know my family & I very well. You know that we do not believe in bashing people. We believe in uplifting others & supporting local businesses. But I would hate for anyone else to be treated this way. This type of business does not deserve to be in our community. We need honest, trustworthy businesses who do what they say and charge for.

The manager David is a real stand up guy and I trust him and his team to get the job done right and in a timely manor.... they haven’t failed me yet. My car was towed here Friday night and I chose this location specifically because they had weekend hours in hopes my car could be fixed before the business week started again. It is now Tuesday evening and my car still has not even been looked at to diagnose the problem, let alone begin to fix it. An absolute waste of time. Completely ruined my engine - then suggested I just trade it in. and STILL charged me to "fix" it and won't refund my money even though it is far worse than it was when I brought it in. Do NOT bring your car in for mechanical issues. They never answer the phone, or call you back. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. They need to be shut down.
