I was very impressed with the service here and will take my car to this Merchant's for future repairs and maintenance. Ziya was immensely helpful. I thought I would be buying two new tires for my AWD car this morning, but he had the trouble tire inspected first and discovered the slow leak was easily fixed. He could have easily sold me the tires anyway, I would never have known. Instead he told me the truth, saved me over $300, and earned my future patronage.

Worst place ever. I don’t know where to start, rude, bad costumes service, incompetent about car service, always behind schedule and the list goes on and on. Beside the convenience location there is no one good quality about this place. Since chuck (the previous manager) left the place is going downhill and the new one is super rude and unprofessional . I gave them multiple chances (because they r next to where I live) but man every time I go there I regret that dicicion. They fail to perform the most basic job beside their thug mentality and threatening costumers. I rarely give bad reviews but this place is beyond discription. Don’t let the convince location trick u into going there.

Worst experience ever. Went in for a simple oil change. Asked for windshield whipper fluid. Was told once I picked it up they filled my radiator fluid and windshield fluid. Cool. Took my car home only to find out I got no windshield fluid and oil/grease all in my car. On the door keys, steering wheel, dash and on the head rest! The head rest?! Took it back up there considering they damaged my car didn’t seem to concerned. Will not be returning to this location again.

No matter what you expect here, your car will never be serviced in a timely fashion. As a technician who used to work at this location, I’ll tell you exactly why it’s a blunder. They have no sense of time management skills and require far too much to be taken care of to handle your needs in an adequate time constraint. The front desk salesman sets the tone for the lunacy. There are ten service garage bays and only four technicians a day along with the one salesman at the front desk. Only two of the technicians do the oil changes. They are allowed to use half of the service area (5 slots). The other half is used by the two. senior techs for any and all other service work. There are oil change appointments pre-set in writing so that’s two cars getting oil changes every half hour. Four cars, four customers with appointments. Ok so that leaves one garage bay for any walk in customer. So you have one employee working on not one, not two, but upwards towards three or more cars by themselves in that half hour time crunch. Absolutely none of these cars will be serviced in a timely manner. The salesman who handles the time management is on commission. Every customer who walks through the door is just a dollar sign to him. It’s a $20 oil change for the customers. So now you have possibly five or six people waiting behind the pre-scheduled oil change appointments. Appointments won’t even get you put in the front of the line though. This shop runs by, “if you’re onsite waiting for your vehicle, your vehicle will be serviced first.” Now it’s time to get down to the facts of why does an NTB/Merchants oil change take an hour and not just fifteen minutes. This is how the shop works and it’s absolutely ridiculous, if not absurd. Pull the 8am appointment car in, Set the lift, check the lights, raise the hood, check the fluids, the battery, the wipers, and run a battery check, turn in any possible problems you have found on the vehicle check list, wash hands by now it’s 8:20am. Pull in 8am appointment vehicle #2. Check lights, set lift, etc.... raise appointment one, loosen lug nuts on all four tires, drain oil. Car 2 raise lift, loosen lug nuts all around, drain oil, wash hands, pull in walk in customers vehicle. By now it’s 8:40am, go pull that car in, check lights, take care of vehicle checklist, raise car 3 drain oil. Wash hands, retrieve oil filters for cars 1 and 2, change out filters in both vehicles, rotate tires on both vehicles, by now it’s 9am. Lower vehicle, put fresh oil in car 1 and 2, wash hands retrieve car 3 checklists from the front desk, install new oil filter, rotate tires car 3, perform any other service the customer has paid for and or approved from the first vehicle analysis at 8:10am. New oil car 3, pull out car 1, by now it’s 9:15am and the customer who came in at 7:45am is just getting their vehicle back. Car two is done by 9:20am, car three is finished by 9:30am. The two 8:30am appointments won’t get pulled in the shop until at least 30 to 45 minutes after their supposed start time, then cars just start loading up overlapping appointment times one after another. It’s one big marathon in the back of the shop. The salesman just doesn’t care when you get your car back. He’s or she’s getting paid for your signature on the work order. They could have no space left in the back and they’ll still be accepting walk ins. If you aren’t patient, you need to be somewhere? This is just not the place to be. They overwhelm the technicians in the back, and then on top of all the oil changes, there could be random people just pulling up out of nowhere for free air pressure checks, it’s another time setback, even worse are the bored customers who walk back to the shop and try to interrupt the mechanics as their busy trying to knockout three maybe four cars by themselves. So definitely do not anticipate your vehicle to be a straight up drain and fill, there’s too much juggling going on to get your vehicle out faster and to have a better turnaround ratio.

The manager at NTB is a genuinely nice person. He handles conflict with customers gracefully. I had a leak caused by a dirty wheel on my Volvo S40 and NTB worked me into their schedule allowing me to drop off my car and pick up only a few hours later. I highly this garage to all my family and friends.

We have taken our cars to Merchant's for years even though I began to question their costs and quality. Eventually we got the wake up call needed to make the effort to find an honest mechanic. I took my car in because the service engine light came on and I paid $600 to fix it....or so I thought. The light came back on immediately and when I took it back they claimed it would cost an additional $900 to fix it. When I took it to a second opinion mechanic, he showed me that they put the canister back in with only one screw. The other screw broke off, probably while they were working on it. The canister was loose enough to cause a leak, which caused the service engine light to come back on. Simple fix. Very disappointed that this is the thanks we get for being loyal (stupid) customers for years.

I suggested my wife call ahead and make an appt for her oil change and rotation.. the only appt she got was at 2pm. Woke up early today (Sunday) and got to the NTB at about 1030a. I made the suggestion for her to drop it off early per chance they can get her in early. The gentleman told her they were booked up all day with appts and the earliest they might get her in was at the end of the day.... (thank God she called and made that 2 o'clock appt huh) Anyway, they got done with the car at about 1130a to my great surprise. I'm so happy, I wrote this review.

They tried to charge me over $280 dollars for a standard battery replacement + maintenance. I went to a jiffy lube about a mile down the road and got the same work done for half the price. Very disappointed that they try to take advantage of people

I am not sure why i continue to give this place a chance. Back at home, the NTB is great and is always on time. In Morgantown, this NTB is constantly “backed up.” A simple oil change, with a scheduled appointment, will land you in this place for 3 hours. The last three times i have been here have been awful, and simple procedures take hours because they are constantly behind schedule.

(I am using my fiance's account)I am very upset. Yesterday I called and got a quote for an oil change, tire change, and brake change. I was told 30$ for the oil change, 20$ per tire to put my tires on, and they would have to inspect it for the brakes. At around 2:30pm today I took my car in(07 Rav4 Sport). I just wanted the new ties put on and an oil change. After waiting in the lobby for an hour the man came out and told me when he took the tires off my car was unsafe to drive due to the brakes needing to be changed and the front two rotors needed to be changed. He told me he could not release my car to be driven and that I could only have it towed away if I didn't get the brakes and rotors changed. He also told me my car only took a special synthetic oil type that was more expensive than normal oil. I asked him how much this would all cost me since I couldn't just take my car and leave. He quoted me $731.44!!!! That was after a $100 discount for fixing all four brake pads. I told him there was no way I could do that and he asked if I had any friends or family near by that could help me. I told him no. He proceeded to give me another discount and an oil change free of charge which brought the price down to $682.44...I found this a little ridiculous and tried to call my fiance but he was working and there was nothing I could do. He didn't get off work until 11pm so I had no choice but to call my grandfather who lives 10 hours away to wire me 300$ to cover what I couldn't after emptying my savings. He charged me $78.00per brake pad(I needed 4) and $124per rotor(I needed two) and some other things I didn't really understand on the receipt. These prices seemed so steep to me I asked to keep the break pads and rotors. He would only give me two brake pads saying one was from the front and one from the back but he gave me both rotors. The brake pads definitively needed to be changed but the rotors were fine. My fiance used to be a mechanic and he was very very upset. Also I looked up prices online. My car does not need synthetic oil, brake pads were about 30$ the most expensive I found was 98$ and they were made for racing, Rotors were about $45 the most expensive I found was $109 for racing. I feel very taken advantage of and used. I did not have that money to spend. I am an expectant mother and struggling right now. I am going to see if I can take any legal action. I do not recommend this place especially if you are a woman or you don't know what your doing. Almost everyone who came in for the 5hours I was waiting needed something "extra" done to their car than just what they came in for. The only good thing I can say is that all the workers seemed very nice to me, probably because they were ripping me off.

I usually always have my car serviced at the dealer, but I've had to drop into NTB a few times for a quick oil changes before leaving on a trip. They top up all of your fluids during the oil change, the price point is an industry standard, service can be a bit slow even when the shop appears empty. I wouldn't necessarily make this a place for all my service needs, but gets the job done when you're in a time crunch.

This place has gone downhill from what it used to be. I had four tires shipped to this location for installation and expected a simple, straightforward experience. The moment I got there I knew I was in for a bad experience. The service attendant seemed totally confused and just couldn't seem to provide me with answers to questions I had prior to my tires being mounted. He also refused to provide me with a written estimate for mounting and balancing. I was also surprised at the price, quoted verbally, for simply mounting and balancing tires. I used to work at a shop and would do these myself and understand perfectly well how it works. Nonetheless, the service person tried to sell me useless things like an alignment, which should not be affected by the mere installation of tires. It was a disappointing, overpriced experience. But, hey, my tires are intact and installed, so one extra star!

I had a 10am appointment and when I told them I was waiting on the car. They said they were behind on their 9am appointment. They do not honor the tpms service as advertised when booking an oil change service. Front desk guy was trying to talk me out of the the service. Do not come here. Service sucks

UPDATE: During their so called investigation: I was able to go to a mechanic of choice, so I went to a mechanic of my choice. I scheduled the state inspection with them and the contractor was supposed to come during this process. He never showed up due to some personal reason. So I set up another time later that week for Friday afternoon. Naturally he was late of course. He came, took pictures, noted the double sized plug that was inserted as a temporary fix and called the insurance company back. They wanted him to take out the plug in order to see if there was ever a heli coil inserted. Keep in mind, this was Friday afternoon and the mechanic said that it was not possible to do today and possibly leave me without a car for the weekend. (Which is why I planned for earlier in the week) Monday, I get a response from NTB's insurance company that they had denied the claim as a result of what was told at the store, making the investigation totally pointless and a waste of time. When I got my car fixed, the mechanic was able to prove there was no heli coil previously inserted, making that NTB LIED!! The mechanic inserted a Heli Coil for teh first time on my car when they had to fix it for what NTB Did to my car. That was money I had to pay out because NTB could not and would not take ownership for their poor actions as they had completed the 3 previous oil changes! I do not recommend. I went in for an oil change and my drain plug is broken. Come to find out, there was a helicoil in and it had fallen out and there was no more tread. They claim it was not theirs. Other mechanics that I have gone too have not told me they had inserted a heli coil, nor the lack of tread was an issue. While they did a temporary fix, I am now responsible for getting the oil pan replaced at cost to me. The manager is rude.

Claimed that they replaced the transmission fluid as I paid for a complete systems flush. Two weeks later, while at the Honda dealer, I was told that my transmission fluid was very dirty. Went back to Merchant's and they claimed that the old fluid was so dirty that the new fluid must have gotten tainted from the old fluid. On my next visit (to use the last of my alignment coupons), I was told that their transmission replacement system was broken that this is why they thought they replaced the fluid, but didn't. Beyond my experience, there are too many complaints against Merchant's to ignore and an average rating of 2 tells it all.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE DO *NOT* TAKE IT HERE. I visited Merchants/NTB for a simple, routine oil change and tire rotation on 04.09.2019. The next day after picking up my car I noticed that there was a dent coming from underneath the vehicle on the passenger's side quarter panel (behind the wheel where the lift holds up the car). There are no scratches or paint damage on the car but you can clearly see where the metal is bent. This is from improperly jacking or lifting the car. I took my car to the location on 04.10 and reported it to Caitlin/Kaitlyn the manager. She didn't say anything to me. She just made a face and didn't even apologize. The damage was so bad that my passenger side door makes a noise every time I open and close it so I try not to. All the service manager said was that their insurance would be in touch. Their insurance claims manager Sedgwick contacted me once and left a voicemail. I called them back and haven't been able to get anything done with this claim for over 2 weeks now. Sedgwick does not return my calls. The NTB location where the work was done took a few minutes to take my call. All they say is that it has to go through insurance. Sedgwick refuses to send an adjuster to look at my claim. I have been going to Merchants for a while with 2 vehicles. My girlfriend's mother goes there which is why we started going there. They take a long time and are extremely slow. That wasn't the biggest problem. Now I cannot trust them to do a routine procedure without severely damaging my car and refusing to admit fault and fix it! One of the men I got on the phone at this location did reveal that the person who serviced my car was the newest employee there. Obviously, they are not training their employees. At this point, I don't know if their insurance will help me. My insurance will not cause the damage done by their employee but it shouldn't have to. All I wanted was a simple oil change and tire rotation. I drive my car about 8.5 miles a day. The car was in excellent condition before this. Now it is not fully usable and the value has dropped significantly. I will be posting this review in as many places as possible so at least one person will consider the danger they are putting their car in if they bring it here. At least go to Jiffy Lube where you can watch them work on your car. If you have enough money, take it to the dealership where they use certified, professional technicians. This whole scenario has cost me hours of time. I have made so many phone calls and left tons of voicemails but no one is helping me so allow me to help you. I will post pictures of the damage here since no adjuster is coming out to take a look at my vehicle. You be the judge. The lift or jack pressed up into my car improperly and bent it out of place. Now the door does not open or close properly and it seems to get worse every time I do that so I am unable to use the front passenger's side of my vehicle. I'm not trying to scam the system or get money out of anyone. I just want my car fixed. It's really dirty and I was just about it get it professionally detailed. Now I have to wait for it to be fixed - if Merchants/NTB and their insurance will ever own up to the matter. I hope this review has helped you in some way. If you look on Google you will see that I leave many reviews in the hope of being honest and transparent and helping people spend their hard earned dollars wisely. Don't trust anyone without investigating things first.

I had a brake job done on my 2009 GMC Denali. All brakes, hardware and rotors were replaced end of June behining of July. A couple days later I make a trip to Indiana, my brakes squealed the whole trip up and back. I got home and was home for 4 days and left out of town again for the weekend. Again, brakes squealed the whole trip. It's annoying loud, enbarassing!!! I took it back and the tech asked me if I had washed it.. Well yes of course.. I dont like a dirty truck.. So he blamed the squealing on the car wash.. Chemicals might have gotten on the pads or dirt and oil from the road could have gotten on there and thats whays making them squeal... LAME EXCUSE!!! I have never heard of such a thing.. So what, I shouldn't wash my truck bc it'll make the brakes make noise now? Thats ridiculous!!! I paid over $850 for this!?!?!?! Im upset... He told me to go home and spray brake cleaner on it... I shouldnt have to fix the problem on my own.. That's what I paid you guys for... Smh. Im not a fan right now...

When performing an oil change, a tire rotation comes with the service free of charge. I meant to remind the associate to give me this service at the time, however I forgot. When I came to retrieve my vehicle I asked if it had been done and he said no. I then said I wish you told me that it came with it but I would like for it to be done. And so it was then done, but several hours later that day. I was inconvenienced because I had somewhere to go and I ended up having to get a ride there instead because my car was not available for me. Furthermore, I was told that all fluids were topped off, but noticed the next day that this had not been done either! This is my first and last time ever to use this brand company and location! It is really a shame because I just moved here and it was my first experience with this company and I live around the corner from this location. I was really looking forward to having a lot of my automobile needs taken care of at this convenient location however after this experience of going back two times for a simple thing, I have no confidence in this company or location.

Got a new car and the first oil change they put the wrong filter on and potentially destroyed my engine with less then 10,000 miles on it. Never going back again.

I got a call saying my rear rotors were a speciality part and had to order and it would take a few days. it was a Friday evening so it would take until Tuesday. But Brandon I think his name was. So stopped in there twice to get routine service done on my Fleet Vehicle. Twice I walked out with nothing. First time I was a walk in, was told that they were short staffed and it would be a 3 hour wait. Ok, but I would never wait that long for an oil change and rotation. So next service interval I thought I was smart made an appointment. The morning of the appointment I get a call, hey we are short staffed can we get you to move your appointment to another day, if you come in at your appointment it will take about two hours. So every day you are short staffed sounds like either s huge coincidence or you have some serious management issues. I work in the “vehicle service industry “ and would do the work myself if the company would allow, but they won’t. Sorry Morgantown NTB you won’t get a third shot. You just missed out on no less than 90,000 miles of routine service, and any issues that might have arose in the vehicle lifetime, not to mention the next fleet vehicle I get. So I hope your management team is happy.

This place is hit and miss. Sometimes you get somebody good, sometimes you get somebody bad. I mark my tires and my oil filter before the service and then check if the tires were rotated and filter were changed. Over a year period my tires were missed once and the oil filter was not changed. What angered me recently was I pointed out that the filter was not changed and the store manager tried to cover up the error. I will never go back. Merchants needs to manage this store better...quality control is poor.

OMG! I fort want to say they need a 0 star , because some people like NTB at 108 Chalmers Road in Greenville, SC really, really deserve one. I wish that I could AT LEAST comment about the car service that I received, BUT unfortunately I didn’t even make it that far. I toggles there today as my car is in need of an alternator, the young lady at the desk said there’s nobody to do the work today, but we can at the very least look at it and have it diagnosed, I said: have someone do it the next day, okay so that was a few minutes to 5 o’clock, so I had a seat and waited and waited, then I came up to see what was happening, I heard the girl in the front saying something to the short gentleman, and I heard him yell out: well is she here, and I began to walk up, and they looked at me and stopped talking so I knew it was me they were disgusting, so I sat down up front. He dilly dallied some more then finally goes to the care with a jump, I do not see him even attempt to jump it, then he walks back to the front throws the keys on the desk and walks in the shop area, and the motorcycle guy, and the front desk person look at each other and say what’s that all about, then the front desk girl continues her cleaning with another girl, and the motorcycle guys walks in the shop area to talk to the guy to see what was going on with my van, comes back says NOTHING to me, and then they explain it to her, and she says we’ll explain it to her meaning me, they do very dry and reluctantly, saying they need to do whatever and can’t do it and then they get in a small thing about who was and wasn’t going to be there tomorrow, so I get my son and my keys and call my insurance company to get me a tow truck to another nearby, we’ll know dealer, and they did not ask me anything, and saw me outside after I told her I didn’t have a ride, and just pulled away. Well needless to say, I told every person I spoke to on the phone from the warranty company to the insurance company, as well as the towing company and I will absolutely continue to tell ALL who will listen of my odd, and extremely unprofessional experiences here...PERIOD. So if you did not believe ALL of the negative reviews of posted past.. believe them, they are OBVIOUSLY ALL BERY TRUE. I was treated basically like I was invisible, with people walking back and forth in front of me saying nothing ! What a way to treat someone already going through the trying experience.

I had a very bad experience today with those guys .I went there one week ago they did my oil changed and tire rotation and I told them to check my AC filter and they said that they check it but when I went back home I realised that nothing was done to me because I found that the filter is not touched even one year ago . And the car came out of them with a sounds in the front tires and I went today to let them check out what's going on with my tire . I left the car about four hours although they said they will fixed in three hours max . But. Came back found my car as it was they did nothing to it . And they didn't even called me to let me now that they did nothing so I just wast my time and come back home with the same problem. If I could give this a negative rating, I would. I took my car to NTB on Chalmers Rd in Greenville in May, 2017. I was buying 4 new tires. When they were done, I checked, and my custom wheels were badly scratched. All 4 of them. Frank, the manager tried to dismiss it as "Not too bad". We finally agreed he would pay to have the wheels repaired, and for a rental car for me while the repairs were done. Actually, he agreed to that after I got my husband involved. When it was just me, Frank figured he could bully me into backing down. So after a lot of wrangling, my wheels were repaired. If you've ever rented a car that someone else is paying for, you know that you still have to present a credit card. Which is why, nearly a year later, I discovered that NTB had not paid for the rental car, when the charges for the rental showed up on my credit card. I have to pay the charges. Frank has "no recollection" of agreeing to pay for the rental. In my opinion, he is untrustworthy, and no one should trust their car to him. Especially not women.

My wife's car's ABS light kept coming on. After 4 hours NBS told us it was her brakes and quoted us 600 to replace the break pads......thats not happening. Took the car to Shorty Anderson's and within 15 min they identified the problem to be the axle and resolved the issue in a couple hours. Total cost 184 dollars.

Made an appointment for 5 pm for an alignment. Got there before 5 and was told it was a 2 hour wait because they had walk-ins come in before me. What is the point of making an appointment if you have to wait 2 hours because of walk-ins? Shouldnt the walk-ins have to wait till the people that took time to make an appointment are done? That is the worst customer service!!! UPDATE: Made another appointment to get an alignment and oil change. Today at 2 PM. Was there on time. Sat there for two hours waiting for them to do those two things. Got my final bill which listed both the oil change and wheel alignment. Get in my car and start driving. My car is driving like an alignment wasnt even done so I called them on the phone. After being on hold for 16 minutes, the assistant manager gets on the phone and tells me they didnt do the alignment. When asked why not and why wasnt I told that it wasnt done before I left...his response was basically "we assumed you knew". How was I to know before I left if the alignment was done or not if they didnt tell me seeing that's the reason I went there and its listed on the final bill!?!?!? Horrible place to take your vehicle! I questioned the oil change after all that so as soon as I got home I pulled the oil stick out to make sure it was fresh oil and they didnt lie about doing that too!

As if there aren't enough bad reviews for this location. My wife took the car up for an oil change and had a coupon for a free tire rotation. They told her the tires didn't need to be rotated. I called and it was confirmed that this is what they told my wife. I told the man on the phone tire rotation is done as preventative maintenance and we didn't want to wait until the tires show cupping or have any problems. He said I could come back and get the work done. I told him we won't be going back to his shop. He said, "good we don't need you" and hung up on me. I don't get it. If you don't want to do the work, then don't send out the coupons.

ZERO stars it what this should be rated. Took my kia to get a new battery, and they sold me a faulty battery (bad cell) for 180 bucks. Took it back just to get it exchanged and the bald guy (can't remember his name) told me its not the battery its the car. So I go to my mechanic and he says its a bad cell, the starter and the alternator are fine. So I take it back up there and he proceeds to fight with me and tells me I'm a liar and refuses to even talk with me about it, when and all I want is an exchange. TERRIBLE customer service, sketchy products, and won't help small business owners!

Dropped my truck off for a SIMPLE, SINGLE tire change at 7:10 in the morning, BEFORE they even opened (at 7:30). Front desk guy told me it would be ready by, at the very worst case scenario, 4:00 pm, same day AND he even wrote on the description of work sheet 4:00, Well I came at 6:00 to ensure it would be fully done to minimize wait, and what do you know, they HAVEN’T even started on my truck yet. Really disappointed with this place. They are too busy to respect appointment times and are poor historians/documenters of their labor. They used to be really great, but with more business their quality of service has truly gone downhill. This past visit with them I had an appointment at noon. They did not touch my car until 2pm, and did not finish working on my car until 4:45pm. All they did to my car was simply clean my brakes and "re-adjust" the shoes. They are getting 2 stars from me instead of 1 because, luckily, they only charged me an hour for labor for that day - over $100, which is a lot for a poor college student.

This location of Tire Kingdom is one of the worst managed stores I've ever had the displeasure of entering. I went there for an oil change in April. I was yelled at by the man behind the counter as I had not made an appointment, therefore, he could not help me out, as they were too busy. The parking lot and service bays were completely empty??? I had been to other Tire Kingdoms, who never treated me this way. I left, in tears. I went back, as I needed my tires rotated, and their price happened to be the best. I also wanted to see if the service would improve. They insisted that I needed to purchase new tires, instead of getting a rotation. I calmly explained to them that new tires were not in my budget that day, that I had had them looked at by a friend, who told me I didn't need new ones quite yet, so I just wanted to rotate them until I had the cash to get new ones. I did go back to them for the tires, as they gave me the best quote, out of everyone else I got quotes from. I scheduled an appointment, called to make sure they would honor their quote, and was reassured they would. I arrived for the appointment, and they told me they didn't have the brand of tires available they had quoted me on, so would have to go with a more expensive tire. I told the manager that the only reason I was there was because of the original quote, and if they were not willing to honor it, I would leave.They promised me they would honor the quote, which was for 4 tires with at least a 60,000 mile guarantee. I came back to get the car, and they told me the drive shaft needed replacing. I told them I would not let them do that, as I wanted a second opinion. The manager tried to bully me into having it done, and I told him that it wasn't going to happen, as I had had the car looked at by other mechanics recently, because of the sound they told me was the drive shaft, and the other mechanics told me it was nothing to worry about. They then tried to get me to buy hazard insurance for my tires, which seemed to be a ripoff to me. I declined the coverage, paid my bill and left. Then this past week, while driving home from work, my one tire went flat driving down a major highway. The gentleman who helped me change it saw a nail in it and told me that was probably the cause, not this scratch on the sidewall, as it looked as if it hadn't even punctured the tire. I took the flat to Tire Kingdom to get patched, as part of the package was free patching of tires. The techs told me that the sidewall scratch was the hole, and then told me I had to buy a new tire. I asked them if they would at least give me a discount on the replacement, as the tire was less than 4 months old, and had less than 5000 miles on it. They told me they couldn't, but told me if I had bought the hazard insurance, they would have replaced it for free and I should buy it that day, along with the new tire. I told them it was not in my budget to spend close to $200 that day, so all I wanted was the tire. The manager told me he would give it to me half price, but then backpedaled, and told me if I would buy the insurance, he would give the tire to me for free. I told him I would just pay the discount price for the tire, as I did not want to spend $80, which was more the replacement cost of the tire. He then told me the only option on the table was for me to buy the insurance and get a free tire. He was quite condescending to me, telling me that I could afford to pay for both the insurance and tire. He also talked down to me, explaining to me why they couldn't fix the tire. He also told me he couldn't give me a free tire every time I came in with a problem unless I bought the insurance. I told him that I wasn't asking for a free tire, that I just wanted a discount on a new tire, as the tire that had gone flat was pretty much brand new. Instead, I was bullied into buying that hazard insurance, which is pretty much a waste of money. So, instead of paying the $35 I was more than willing to pay for a new tire, I left $85 poorer. I will never return to this Tire Kingdom again.

Went here to try and get a tire plugged, front desk personnel was nice but when the tech came out to get the car, I had noticed there was a nail in the tire and could see it clearly. He just looked at it and said after I showed it him, sorry, can’t fix it and started to walk away with no other explanation. Abysmal - avoid this location. I dropped my car off to have one tire with a slow leak patched. I was told they would call when ready. After 4 hours, I called them. They claimed to have tried to call me yet i have no missed calls and no messages. Then they told me that they recommended i get 4 new tires as one had a nail in it. I have worked on cars all my life. This was fraud at worst and a ridiculous upsell at best. Then when i went to pick up my car - the battery was dead. Honestly you cant even make this up.

My battery died just outside the Merchant's Reston location. The guys jumped my car three times, ran diagnostics at a very reasonable rate, and kept me informed every step of the way. My Father is a mechanic so I opted to have the work done on the side but strongly believe the excellent customer service and knowledge nearly swayed my decision to have the work done at Merchant's. Very pleased with their service and trusted them completely (which is rare in the automotive repair business)! The usual and expected parts markup wasn't ridiculously overpriced as compared to most service centers. They made recommendations without stating "required". Should anything arise in the future, I would recommend this station to anyone. Great customer service Guys!!

I took my car in June 26 for a tire rotation. Before I took my car in for a tire rotation I knew ahead of time my passenger back tire had a nail in it. However the price they quoted me for a patch I thought was too high so I didn’t come back. For the last week my back passenger tire has been losing air. That doesn’t make sense if my tires were rotated, correct? Well I purchased 2 new tires and had the short pump location put them on and check that back tire and what’s there? A nail. No nails in any other tire so it’s not new. So I paid them to patch it. But it seems like I also paid this location to rotate my tires and it was never done. Very upset because I always recommend NTB for service but it seems like they took advantage of me like I wouldn’t know or because I wouldn’t purchase 2 new tires there for $200. Not coming back to this location ever. Need to find a new location or new place all together for my tire needs from now on!

We first took our car to the Honda dealership in Dulles and they performed a scan to determine the issue. We were told that we would probably need a part replaced costing $1400 for the part and labor. On the way back to the dealership our brakes went completely soft so we did an emergency stop at merchants. We were pretty sure we were screwed and wouldn't be leaving Merchants without an even bigger bill than Honda but to our pleasant surprise they fixed our brakes and the underlying issue (a rusted bolt) for way way way less than expected. At 4pm on a Sunday (10/07/18) a tire on my car blew on 79. Having a newer car I had no spare. I called my insurance company because I knew I had to be towed. I called several places to have my tire replaced that said "sorry but we close at 6pm" when I called NTB I spoke with John (I think that was his name). He was extremely understanding and even though NTB closed at 6pm and I was waiting for the tow truck to arrive he told me not to worry and that if I would keep him updated on my ETA he would stay and wait for me to get there. The tow truck arrived around 5:30 and we did not get to NTB until almost 6pm. John was there as promised waiting for me. He NOT only replaced the blown tire BUT all my tires as I knew I needed new tires and now I was afraid to travel 6 more hours home on the old tires. The cost was reasonable and the service was top notch. If he had not stayed I don't know what I would have done. I recommend NTB to anyone looking for GREAT service with caring people. I scheduled a fleet vehicle oil change here. They typically take 30-45 minutes depending on what else they try to squeeze on. I waited for over 3 hours while being told, "it'll only take 10 more minutes" repeatedly from 1 hour onward. When I get into my car I found the interior and steering wheel marked in grease. I'll sooner drive a hour to Firestone than come here again.

While every time I have been in people have been very friendly and nice, but this time they tried to say my car would cost upwards of $1500 to pass inspection. Said I needed completely new struts and that when the car was put into gear the engine swayed six inches. Took it home and first looked to see the engine swaying which it didn't at all besides vibrating when it was turned on (definitely not moving a whole 6 inches). Then took it to another place in town for a second opinion and even after asking them to take a closer look at the struts that supposedly needed completely replaced, the other shop passed the car for inspection and said it would be $11. Either NTB tried to rip me off exponentially or the other place is completely overlooking issues even after being told to look at them.

I am trying to find a mechanic in the area to work on our fleet of work trucks as needed and to perform regular maintenance, particularly having the oil changed. I talked to Frank who was rude and short with me and turned me away. He said he didn't have time because they are too busy on Fridays. He must have been really busy because he didn't allow me to explain that I wasn't trying to drop a vehicle off that day but sometime within a week or so and continually in the future. Perhaps he was having a bad morning, but I hope he doesn't treat all his customers that way.

Last week my truck stalled out in the road right down the street from this merchants. I realized that the problem was just due to a corroded battery terminal. I was able to make it into the parking lot and went inside to ask for help. The manager came outside to look at my truck and even though they aren't a retail store, he found an exact OEM replacement part inside and gave it to me for free. He also took the time to explain how to install it. It seems like it's rare for people to go out of their way for you these days, even in a customer service driven industry. I also should note that when I lived in Reston in the past I've taken other vehicles their for tires and service and always had good experiences.

I've seen the other reviews on Merchant's in the area and they were horrible. Even before looking at those reviews, I went to this location and never wanted to go anywhere else. Kye, the manager, really goes out of his way to make sure that everything is done right. He never tries to "sell" me on anything. If something is wrong with my car, he'll show me exactly what it is and explain why it needs to be fixed. I've never felt cheated by these guys. They work hard and do a great job. They're often very busy and that, to me, means that they have a lot of customers who like them and use them. Very happy with the service here

After finding a much better, more professional and LOCAL service provider, I want to share my experience with NTB so other customers can avoid it. In December 2017, I hit a pothole that popped one of my tires. I was due for a new set anyway, so I purchased them and had them installed at NTB. The only issue I had after this visit was with one tire, which I was having to put air in on a weekly basis. I assumed this was due to damage to the rim. About a month later, I hit another pothole and damaged another tire. I went back to NTB and they told me I had driven 14,000+ miles since my last visit, and therefore, no longer had warranty. 14,000+ miles...in one month...just by driving in Morgantown? I paid for a new tire anyway and said "The tire that was damaged last month always has low air. Can you fix that?" They said yes but the problem persisted and actually got worse. Needless to say, I never went back. There are better service providers in the Morgantown area who deserve your business, folks. Choose one over NTB.

I've been switching to this Merchants over the past couple of years. They've now got me as a regular. Took the car in for a lot of shakiness in the steering. They got me in on a Sunday, stayed late to finish the job so I could pick it up that day. Car drives like new, now. Just went in to have my tires rotated and wheels aligned and had a great experience. I made an appointment and they took me right in and got me back out again in less time than expected. Ziya checked me in while David checked me out; both of them were courteous and professional. The waiting area was clean and neat as well. I have been here in the past for similar work, even buying a set of tires, and have had good experiences each time. The location is very convenient, being near restaurants if you want to wait, and near other shopping if you want to combine your trip with other errands.

Extremely poor customer service. I took my vehicle in to be aligned. The person waiting on my was very dismissive and did not go over any details about the service provided. When picking up the vehicle the person that started to check me out said 'hold on a second" then left for about ten minutes. When he came back he started to make conversation with a customer sitting in the waiting area and it was clear that he went to check on something for his vehicle. He continued to make conversation with the other customer and I had to ask if the transaction was complete. Made a appointment for alignment 1 day prior. I called them before my set appointment and told them that I did not want the alignment and need just my tires balance and rotated. Asked the person that answer the phone if there was going to be problem with my change of surface and said no and will see me at the time of my appointment. Waste of time and couldn't get order correct. I have wasted 3 different appointments. Had a flat, ordered one from MT, they "forgot" to call me to tell me it was in. A wk later I called and they scheduled me to come in the next day. Unfortunately I did not check the new tire when I left the shop. Buyer beware. I took my 1997 Ford F350 in for a new set of tires, Cooper RTX 235/85R16. The work was done promptly and so far as I can tell to a good standard. I bought these tires on their buy 2 get 2 free deal that requires you to purchase an alignment package. After they completed the tire change I asked about how my alignment looked and they told me due to the length of my vehicle they cannot perform an alignment. Well I guess that is $105 (the price of the alignment package) I'll never see again. At least tell the customer before you do the work that you cannot honor the alignment!

We are from out of town. Found a nail in my tire at 5 pm on Saturday. No spare. Called and went to first NTB and guy inside at register didnt care or want to help as there were 2 cars ahead of me. A second guy came outside and checked for leaks. Tire needed to be replaced but inside guy said they were too busy to help (even though 3 guys were standing inside). Fortunately there was a second location 1 mile away. They likewise said they could not patch the tire but offered to replace it. Didn't have a perfect match in stock but sold us something that would be safe enough for us to drive several hours home. They finished right at closing at 7. We much appreciated the service as we were stranded without it.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I took my F150 in for an aglinement at 8:30am today, after I put a lift kit on it and new mud tires, you could visually see the camber is out, (front tires leaning out at the top). 2 young boys pulled my truck inside and put it on the lift and hooked the aglinement equipment up to the front wheels. I could hear them talking to each other, one boy asked the other if he knew what he was doing, the boy answered "I'm pretty good with trucks, it's car's I have trouble with". The girl at the counter walks over and shuts the door. If I heard them, I'm sure she heard them too. I watched them pushed the truck forward on the lift, mess around under the front of it for a few minutes, then let the lift back down. They walk inside and hand me a print out, and told me "Your camber is good, but your toe is way out, BUT, we couldn't perform the aglinement because your tie rod ends are bad, couldn't get them to move, they're stuck" he said. I said "they're stuck? Which one?" "Yes Stuck" he said. "all of them, inner and outer, I couldn't get them to budge, so you're going to need new inner and new outer tie rods on both driver and passenger sides." How much is that gonna be I asked? "For us to do it, about $500.00" he said "Or you could do it yourself and bring it back and we'll perform the aglinement." Still being under warranty I took it back to the lot I bought it from. They put it on the lift, loosened the jam nut and turned the inner tie rods with ease. The mechanic said he could see where they had a wrench on the inner tie rod, but never touched the jam nut. They either had no idea what they're doing, or they just tried to take me for 500 bucks. If they didn't know what they were doing, WHY WOULD YOU LET SOMEONE THAT WASN'T CERTIFIED AND KNOWS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT AGLINEMENT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM ONE???? MY FAMILY RIDES IN THIS TRUCK!!!!

The service at this location is sub par. Took our car in for one issue that they “fixed” but when driving it away, our brakes were barely working and they had been replaced elsewhere less than a year ago. Took it back in but they did nothing to fix it. Throughout this whole time they had our car, we never received phone calls with updates and were without the vehicle for approx 3 weeks even though they left us with more issues than we came in with. Don’t take your vehicle here if you care about it!

I came here to get my tires replaced and my oil changed. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly staff member who signed me in after I told him what my car needed. I left my car there and came back a couple hours later when they were finished with my car. They did a splendid job and the manager even replaced my windshield wipers as a bonus. Absolutely garbage, im currently sitting in this location in the waiting room and ive been waiting for over an hour, i had called and asked what a good time for me to bring my car would be and was told 1 so we set up an appointment for 1 and i was early to the appointment and was told it would take about an hour..... For an oil change? Scheduled online for a 9:00 a.m. oil change. I arrived on-time and was told that they can only honor appointments made by phone. There was a backlog in service, so the best they could do was attempt to reschedule on a weekday. Poor integration and time-management are bad omens for what they'll do to your car.

After three appointments finally got the repair done correctly. First time, didn’t diagnose the problem. Second time problem mid-diagnosed, parts installed that probably didn’t need to be, and told me it was repaired. Problem wasn’t fixed until the third time. Appears they got it right this time. Friendly staff that is sincere though. I think the quality control and quality assurance could be improved though. After last appointment, they said my header gasket was bad. $68 part with $1200 labor. Now car has annoying rattle from engine like a bolt wasn’t tightened properly. I will be looking for a new mechanic shop for my future repairs. Not bad for new tires but anything requiring a mechanic is best to go somewhere else.

What a joke of a shop. 4 times I've taken a car there and 4 times they've been a let down. They broke my wheel hub covers on the first trip, and wouldn't own up to it. The second time they outright refused to change out a heater core for me saying it was too much work. The third time they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of my tires after a simple inspection. And now I try to stop in for a simple tire patch and they refuse to try to work me in. Worst shop in town.

This place is a joke and a scam. Well We took my girlfriends Jeep in to get tires, oil change and inspection sticker. Btw the Jeep was running perfectly fine. They called and said she needs a new tie rod for it to pass inspection so she gave them the go ahead. Get it back Saturday evening and they never reset the oil sensor, the steering wheel was turned in the 2 o’clock position while driving straight, if you let go of the steering wheel it pulled to the right, they gave her different tires than they said they were, and the traction control was stuck on. So we take it back Monday and they say they are going to fix the issues. She picked the Jeep up and the steering wheel is still the same position, still pulling to the right, and ten mins after driving it the traction control light comes back on. So, we take it back again on Wednesday and Six and a half hours later she calls them to see if it’s ready and they tell her the tie rod wasn’t the issue. They tell her it’s the steering rack and pinion and she has to take it to the dealership because it’s under warranty. So the refund her the money for the part and labor due to incorrect diagnosis. Not to mention they threatened her to rip the inspection sticker off because it had the guys name on it after intalk s to them on the phone. We take it to a Jeep dealership and have them look at. Come to find out there wasn’t anything wrong with the rack and pinion, it was just out of alignment. They fixed the issues for another 100 dollars. So I call and talk to NTB today in attempt to get refunded and the only thing the offered to refund was the alignment package that came with the purchase of the tires. Like we were going to take it back to them for an alignment ever again! Save your time and money and go to professionals elsewhere if you don’t wanna get ripped off.

Very condescending.. apparently my previous oil change notes were written in my account stating that I needed new tires... So I come in for a routine oil change and requested to have my tires rotated being that I had suspicions that they did not do so with my previous oil change... in a very condescending tone with a firm clap of her hands together she tells me that they cannot rotate the tires being that I need new ones... I won't be returning and am discouraging anyone else to. Since management changed it seems that they try to fleece you for every penny... btw... please look at the pics of my tires that needed to be replaced

I just called for a quote to replace a (passenger side only)headlight HID bulb and an high mileage oil change. The guy told me $326.00. I couldn't stop laughing. I thought he was joking but he wasn't. The HID bulb at any autoparts store is approximately $120. That's the only reason I'm not installing it myself. Too expensive a bulb to mess up. So after taxes you're charging me roughly $180 to pop in a bulb and do a 20 minute oil change?

Took my car in for a state inspection on Thrusday night. Received a call late in the day Friday that the car was ready for pick up. When we picked the car up we only then found out it failed for a license plat light that was out. Was never told this on the phone and was too late to do anything about it then. Never given the option to just have them replace it and be done with the process. So having to take it back two days later after having to replace the bulb myself, was then told the inspector [ guess they only have one] would be out till Tuesday now. What a waste of time and effort for what should have been an easy process for a simple item. So now will require another trip to the shop and another day without my vehicle and having to arrange other transportation again during the work week. Disappointed of the bad service received here.

Took my car there a week ago for an inspection and oil change. Was told it needed 2 tires which it did and I agreed with. I was then told I needed 2 new struts and 2 new shocks and it was going to cost me around 1300 dollars for it to pass inspection. I said no way go ahead and fail it. After telling them this it took over 3 hours for the oil change while employees sat around eating and playing on their phones and chatting with some girls that had come in. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and he got it up on the lift and showed me there was no way any of those repairs were needed!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE!!!

Great place for all types of repairs and maintance, not just tires, batteries, and oil changes. I've had my car diagnosed and checked up multiple times as a courtesy and got honest and reasonable quotes. Any work I have had done has been reasonably priced and done properly. They won't just go throwing parts on your car and tossing the bill at you, they actually want to do the job right and get your car fixed correctly. My car has had a lot of problems and it being a european car not many places want to service it but NTB never backs down. The service manager John and all his mechanics are great and very accommodating. Definitely the go to place in Morgantown for honest and reasonably priced work.

I want to start this review by saying we had an awesome experience!! The staff was extremely helpful and showed me everything that was in need of repair in a way that I trusted them completely. I went to Nissan of Sterling and they overcharged me by 3,000 dollars for things I didn't need and that weren't even broken! So I thought I would get a second opinion from Merchants in Reston and Ziya the manager walked me through every part of the car that needed work and where Nissan of Sterling was lying about fake repairs and they saved my family 3 thousand dollars!! I'm very lucky and grateful to have found this place! My car is running great and my wallet didn't take a beating from crooked Nissan. A+++

I have bought several sets of tires here over the past 10 years. They are never able to help me when I really need it. Went in needing a tire repair 3 different times only to be told booked solid and cannot help me. I'm done with taking care of a company that won't take care of me. They have done same to my children as well. They also use pushy sales tactics that offend most people. Poor attitudes if you express dissatisfaction. My advice is Firestone if you need real help right away. More friendly folks too. Called them from Tire Kingdom parking lot after being rejected and they said we can help so come on over. If you wonder if this is true ask about a tire repair when you walk in for a new set. You will see the real tire kingdom right then.

Went there to get my Land Rover LR3 serviced. This place literally changed my oil and sealed the skid plate with zip ties. What ever happened to bolts? They also used tape to fix coolant hose. The one star was just so that I can write the post. They deserve negative 5 stars and should be put out of business or at least Merchants Corporate should visit and revamp. I did not ask for a dealership job but just expected they could have at least changed oil correctly.

So this may sound like an exaggeration (I can assure you it’s not), but I took my car in for an appointment (changing my two front wheels) that I scheduled two weeks ago for 12:30 today. When I took it in, the guy told me it would be a couple hours so I went next door to Tim Horton’s until about 2:30. At 2:30, I decided to have my wife come pick me up and that i would just wait for them at my apartment a couple minutes away. Since I figured it’d be done by about 4, I was waiting around for them to call at any minute once 4 o’clock came. But then I just kept waiting for a call, cancelled plans at 5:30 that would’ve gotten me bonus points in a class in which I could really use those points. I called in at 6 asking for an update. The guy told me, “we are a little behind, obviously. We’ll get it done tonight” So, once again, I waited. Since the store closes at 8 I called back in at 7:30 asking if they were gonna get it done before they closed and they assured me they would get it done (On-Star sent me a notification at 7:36 saying there was a problem with my tires so I know that’s when they got them off. I finally just drove down there at 8 and my car was ready to go although they hadn’t called me yet. I do not understand how it took them 7 AND A HALF HOURS to change 2 tires, but I hope to never experience an interaction with NTB again.

Ziya was the guy who helped out me and my wife. We were traveling back from New York to Virginia and got a flat. When we came in it was probably close to 530. Luckily we were staying in the area for the night. He said they would patch the tire and it would be ready in the morning. When we came the next morning, he gave us our tire patch for free and even put the tire back on the car for us (I had only brought him the tire in off the car). While we were waiting he chatted with us and was extremely hospitable. It was honestly one of the most pleasant and helpful experiences with an auto shop I have ever had. If you need some work done, I'd go here!

Hear this loud and clear! Yesterday I had an appointment to replace brakes and inspection. I asked when making appointment how much for brakes. I was told $185. I get there (taking time off work) they tell me $260. I pitch a fit and they give me a price for $223. And thank goodness the inspector was sick. I take it due to time restraints. The manager comes to me and says my brakes are not a priority but my tires wont pass inspection. I told him replace the brakes and I know my tires have been cupping but they will pass inspection. He disputes this 3 Times. I insist on replacing the brakes and told him I'd get my car inspected somewhere else. He told me it wouldn't pass. He could give me a good deal today on the tires. I left with new brakes no grease on them and no tires. I directly went to a tire store and they said the cupping was no problem on the inspection. I went to 2 inspection places that did not have time to inspect but looked at my tires and said they would pass. I went to a 3rd place and I have a new inspection sticker. Thank goodness the inspector was sick or I would have new tires that I didn't need. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO MERCHANTs TIRE.

I took my car in for routine maintenance and was told that the car needed an alignment and the breaks needed to be replaced. I told them I would think about it. That same day I took it to another place and was told that the vehicle is fine. You'd be better served to allow a blind man with a nervous twitch work on your car than bring your car to this horrible place.

While traveling through the area on a road trip my car developed a shimmy. Female, senior, traveling, Sunday...now what. Found Tire King on line. Drove over. Place was busy but service by Cyle was excellent. In less than an hour I was on my way. The car was test driven, problem of rolled steal belt in front tire identified. Tire was replaced, put on back so front end would have even tires on it, balanced and the price was reasonable. Thank You Cyle!

Let me start off by saying that Morgantown has been very hard on my car and I've had a lot of experience getting my car worked on the past few years. NTB in Suncrest has by far been the most fair, reasonably priced, friendly, and seemingly trustworthy place I've gone, anywhere. In my 4-5 visits they have never tried to oversell the work that needs to be done. They have even looked at and fixed things without charging me at all. I have never had to have anyone redo the work that they did, unlike previous shops. Example: When my tires continuously slowly leaked air for months, I took my car to 2 other places that "fixed" them for about a week or two. By the time I took my car to NTB, one of my tires needed replaced from being driven on low, and they still would get flat a couple days after I filled them with air. The guy at NTB told me the three options of tires, and that I could get just one if I wanted, but two would be better. I really didn't have the money at that point and said just replace the one with the least expensive model. When I went to pick up my car, they had put on a nicer tire because it wasn't part of a full set anymore anyway, and resealed the others for me. All they charged me for was the cheapest tire price. 4 months later I haven't had any issues with any of my tires since, and they are the only one who didn't charge anything for cleaning and sealing my tires.

On 2 seperate occations my vehicle has not been ready as promised. On both occasions I dropped it off first thing in the morning with an agreement that it would be ready when I get off work at 330. That gives them almost 8 hours with my vehicle. Once for 1 new tire and at 330 it was just being pulled in causing me to wait over an hour with barely an apology. Then today it was dropped off for an oil change. Again at 330 they hadn't even pulled it in the garage when I got there and again with barely an apology. On neither occasion was I given a courtesy call to let me know they where behind and ask if I was ok with it being a little later then agreed. This is just poor business.

Absolutely terrible experience! If you are a woman, do not take your car to these men that are sexist and try to deceive woman. I took my car in to get an oil change, they kept it for over an hour, called me and said it was done. When I picked it up, I found out that they did not change it because the oil was too low. Then they topped it off with oil and told me to bring it back in a week. I brought it back and they had it for almost 3 hours and didn’t call me, but I was going by and saw my car there, so i went in and waitied 10 minutes for someone to even come up. I then find out that they had the car for that long and didn’t even do anything to the car. They gave me a list of things wrong with my car like dirty air filter and brake light needs to be changed and said they could not change my oil. I truly believe that this is because I am a woman and they believe that I would have just said oh fix all that and then change my oil! I’m not stupid nor do I appreciate that they completely wasted my time.

My first visit was with my wife's car. I had some questions. They checked her car out thoroughly, answered my questions. I didn't spend a penny and I left and they were fine with it. So, I bought tires for my daughter's car there. They were patient and very helpful talking me through my tire options. After the install started and determining that it needed an alignment, they reworked my work order and gave me an alignment guaranteed for 1 year, but it wound up not costing me a dime. Know that I had already had this Xterra in an alignment shop that had told me these vehicles were not able to be aligned. Turns out it is possible, just a pain. They did it with a smile. I'll never go anywhere else.

This place is a total scam, especially if you are a student and/or a woman. Took my car for an inspection sticker and an oil change since it seemed like an easy fix. They failed my car and I was told I needed to pay $1400 to fix it. Took it to a different mechanic and was charged less than half of that price and told that not everything they claimed was actually wrong with my car. Highly recommend doing your research before taking your car here. Not to mention that it took them 4 hours to look at my car.

I will definitely not use this auto center again. The only plus was that the gentleman working here were pleasant. They also come across as inefficient and incompetent. I went to the store to buy two new tires and get an alignment. My car was quickly taken to the work area and fairly promptly I was notified that brake pads and rotors were also needed. I declined the brake job, stating that I hadn’t come prepared to do that work on this day and would also want to get a second look prior to agreement. After two hours, I’m still waiting for tires and my alignment and I ask for a time frame. I’m told the technician is having trouble getting the tires to hold air between the wheel and tire and that mounting was more difficult than it should be. I don’t understand but I continue to wait. Thirty more minutes and my car is brought out. I notice that the bill does not charge for the alignment but has the charges for the brake job on it. The paperwork gets fixed but it then becomes clear the alignment hasn’t actually been done. I wait another thirty minutes for this to be completed. The Manager offers a $20.00 discount on the alignment and I’m appreciative yet feeling stressed By lengthy delays for quite simple work. (There appeared to be no other customers in the shop at this time). Finally, I’ve paid my bill and my car is pulled up. I quickly see the new tires have been put on the front instead of the back of the car. I also notice that my bill says that my car has higher mileage than it does, so my 6000 mile warranty on the alignment would be reduced to only 2500 miles. I go back inside and ask for corrections. Although nice about it, these men simply seem incompetent. I was told: “Well, you have two tires that are still 60-70% good and a front wheel drive so it’s okay the way it is”. I pointed out a customer learn and education message playing on a computer screen in the lobby. It clearly stated that new tires would always be put on the back when only two new tires are purchased and listed the safety and technical reasons for this. The gentleman made the switch. The mileage situation???? The manager stated that “we all make mistakes because we’re human”. Yes, we do. But is that response helpful in any way? It felt almost like an excuse at a time when nothing seemed to go as expected and I’d spent way too much time waiting on small jobs unsatisfactorily completed. While sitting in the lobby, I observed three additional customers being served that afternoon. One seemed to have been satisfied. One was quite unhappy at having called to arrange an inspection and oil hange only to find out no inspectors were on duty either that day or the next. The third customer to be apparently popped in without an appointment and learned she could not get an oil change on that day. I won’t be going back. Timely service, honest and competent service, and full explanations and disclosures are hallmarks of professionalism. I’ll be having my car evaluated by another service provider for the brakes on my next day off from work. I’ll let you know how close the second opinion is to the one received at Merchants. Addendum: Just returned from Seredni Tire and Auto on W. Broad. They agreed that brake pads and rotors on the front of car were needed and completed job with lifetime warranty on pads and 2 yr warranty on labor for $336.37. They did not agree with Merchants assessment regarding back brakes and indicated that my rear brakes probably have a year or more of remaining wear.

I called another place and they charged me much less, were very nice and did an amazing job. When I told the employee at merchants about the price at the other place he had an attitude and started talking to other employees about how I was going to another place. It does appear that there is frequently something that needs to be done that had never been brought up before. This time it was the cabin air filter. It definitely needed replacement after 174,000 miles, but most likely needed it much earlier. (I didn’t even know such a thing existed until I was shown it.)

Scamming and failing state inspection for illegitimate reasons. I usually go to Shorty Andersons or South Park Service Center but I needed new tires and figured I’d get an inspection while I was at it. The tires were pricey but otherwise fine. The state inspection however... They rejected my inspection for “oil pan gasket blown, timing cover leaking and valve cover gasket leaking” they quoted me over $1k for repairs and I promptly left. I checked with WV Police and South Park Service Center, both said they cannot fail it for those reasons unless it’s a hazard to others. There are no oil leaks, I have a full oil pan, and I’ve had my valve gaskets replaced 10k miles ago. DO NOT GO TO NTB for any service or inspections, tires maybe are okay. They are understaffed, overworked and visibly unhappy. Choose one of the numerous other reputable shops around Morgantown for service and inspections.

I got tires from NTB in February 2019 and didn’t have the best experience with communication regarding cost and the time it would take to fix the car. I wasn’t planning on returning to NTB after that experience. Fast forward to the present and I took my car where I normally have it serviced and they informed me my tire would need to be replaced because of where the nail in my tire was located. I called NTB to see if my tire was still under warranty. Good news- it was ( you should explore the warranty on the tires, I was only responsible for paying the install, $60ish). I called on a Friday and was told the tire would be in that following Tuesday or Wednesday. I called to see if the tire had arrived and the service manager, John, informed me that the tire wasn’t going to arrive until the following Monday (practically another week). I needed my car by the weekend as I was heading out of town. I explained my frustration and how I was upset again with the communication I’ve received from this location. John immediately went to work to try and fix the issue. He was honest about the mistake that was made when ordering the tire and assured me he would resolve the issue. I spoke to John around 9:0AM and my car was totally fixed by 1:00PM that same day. Thank your John for making this situation right and for changing my negative experience into a positive one. I will use NTB in the future. Thank you!!

They were closing within an hour Saturday evening, I called needing to have a flat on my wife's car fixed and Devon said he'll make sure it's fixed. Drove up there on the donut and they showed me the inside sidewall has a 1 inch irreparable gash. Said he can get an exact-match tire there by Tues. But they also said that my wife can drive up to the Dealership where she recently bought the tires and either use the tire warranty or get pro-rated for another tire. Then he made sure the service-tech checked out the donut to make sure it's road-worthy. Honesty & integrity go a LONG way. I will bring my business here every chance I get from now on. I would like to express my appreciation for the superior service I receive at NTB in Morgantown this past weekend. While in route to Pittsburgh from Washington, DC for a weekend road trip, I was plagued by a series of unfortunate circumstances: a flat tire, rain, sleet, snow, cloudy wind gusts, and a 2.5 hour wait for AAA to tow my vehicle while only 30 minutes outside of Morgantown. Since I was staying overnight with a friend in Morgantown, I left my vehicle in the parking lot of this NTB location at about 3:30am Saturday morning and dropped my key along with my contact info in their key drop box. I contacted NTB as soon as they opened at 7:30am Saturday morning, and was told that I would receive a call back once they are able to diagnose the issue with my vehicle and provide an estimate for getting a new driver rear tire installed. Assuming they were busy and flooded with appointments since it was a weekend morning, I decided to take a Lyft to NTB to finish resolving the issue. Once I arrived at NTB, I was greeted by Fred and was provided with a detailed synopsis of my vehicle issues by Josh. He informed me that I had obstructed the rear differential on my driver rear side and that in order to get my vehicle back on the road, I would need to get 4 new tires. I explained to Josh that I wasn’t prepared to spend a lump sum of money, considering I was headed to Pittsburgh to visit some friends and was only in town in passing. He understood and proceeded to provide me with the most cost-efficient tire options that also included a buy 2 get 2 free tire deal. Since the price was feasible and I had no other options at this point, I agreed to the work, and he let me know that my vehicle would be ready in about an hour and a half (which was fair considering I had no appointment on a busy weekend and the fact that there were limited technicians available). I decided to wait in the waiting room for my vehicle to get serviced and was constantly apologized to by the staff for the wait. I told them it was no worries since I understood they were busy, but surprisingly, the work was done sooner than expected. Upon completion of my vehicle repair, Josh let me know that I could apply for an NTB credit card since the work was over $199 and that I would also be eligible to receive a $75 gift card since the work was over $500 (if approved). I was apprehensive about running my credit, since I had recently purchased a home. But, needless to say, I was approved and won’t receive any interest if I pay the balance off within 6 months. Once I was back on the road, my car was running smoother than ever (thanks to my new tires!) and I was able to enjoy the rest of my road trip without having hurt my pockets. Because of this experience, I highly recommend NTB to anyone who is looking for professional vehicle service, cost-efficient options, and a team of talented technicians who work to ensure that you are well taken care of. Super special thanks to Josh for his sensitivity to my concerns and for providing me with excellent customer service!

I had my car in for a conventional oil change and a tire rotation today. When I picked up my vehicle and got it home I realized that the tires were not rotated. I know this because my tires are marked. I took the vehicle back and the man at the front desk spoke with the mechanic who worked on my car. He told me that the tires did not need rotated , which is why he didn't rotate them. Even though I asked for a tire rotation, and I was told I received a tire rotation. I then left my car to have the tires rotated. When I returned to pick up my car I saw that they only rotated one side of the vehicle. On top of that, one of the lug nuts of the rotated tires was stripped. I did not go back into the store and ask them to complete the work, because I am afraid to let them have my car back. I have been a loyal merchant customer for 4 years, since I purchased my tires there. After this experience, I doubt I will return.

I've used this particular store for my oil changes for a long time. This was the first time i dealt with a new manager, Seth. It is the outstanding personal support like what he provided this trip that keeps me returning. While changing my oil the mechanic discovered the drain plug was stripped and would not come out. Although it was late and he needed to close the store in less than an hour, Seth located an oil pan at a dealership and got it. Then, he got the oil change completed and the new oil pan installed. And, since only NTB had been doing my oil changes for a long time, he didn't charge me. He could have easily tried to put me off until the next day, and charged me for that pan. But, he was determined to do what was right for his customer. So, again that is why I will continue to use NTB, and this store whenever possible for all my oil changes, mechanical work, and tires.

09/20/2018, Today my husband took my van in to have brakes checked due to the grinding and screaming sounds coming from front brakes. There is a free brake check promotion that they're running right now. After checking the brakes and determining that they were fine. They pointed out that my airbag light was on and the repair would cost over $100. However, my airbag has never been on before they looked at my van today. I am very disappointed with this store. I have been a customer with this store for over 4 years and they have always been very fine with me. The fair thing to do would be to repair my airbag now since they broke it. It's very greedy to run a free promotion then try to find other ways to nickel and dime your customers by creating a repair. I definitely plan to stop by that store tomorrow to find out how you plan to fix this.

I'm sure the management of the Chalmers road store would be absolutely thrilled to know that their employees start turning business away at 6pm, an entire hour before the store is supposed to close at 7pm. I could understand if they were busy and could not work anything else in, but EVERY single bay was EMPTY and all the employees were sitting around in the waiting area. Before I was even asked what I needed done, I was told "We already cleaned up and we not taking anything else". I sure wish my job had a "sit around hour" at the end of each day. Needless to say I am not impressed.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This place said they fixed my car. After 795 dollars of so called repairs they called me back to tell me that did not fix my car.And that they could try a fuel pump but that may not work either. And would cost me 800 more dollars. I had to haggle to pay just 525 dollars for a car that wasnt fixed! So if you want to pay 500 + dollars to not get your car fixed this is the place for you.If you dont want to get ripped off I would suggest finding somewhere else. Update:Not only did they try to rip me off.Also tried to say I was "Stealing my car" after I had paid for work that didnt fix my car and was getting it towed. This is by far the most incompetent mechanics service in Richmond.Seems the people who sit right next to eachother all day can't communicate with eachother. I went in for a simple oil change because I had a coupon. They told me all these things that were wrong with my vehicle and all these expensive repairs that they wanted to do. When I said no, their exact quote was, "Be careful driving that thing, it is not going to last long." I then took my car to my regular mechanic, that I trust, and he told me nothing is wrong with it at all! NTB is a SCAM and will try and scheme you out of your money, I would never go here for any work on my car!

Last Spring I took my wife's car in to have new tires installed due to a blow out she had. One of her tires had a hole the size of my fist in the sidewall. Several months later, I was checking the tires on the van for a road trip and decided to check the spare (which I almost never do.) When I lowered the spare, it was flat and had a huge hole in the sidewall. They had put the blown tire back on my wife's van as a spare. When I think of all the miles my family traveled without a spare I feel really fortunate we did not need it. Some of those miles were very late at night in the middle of nowhere. As far as I am concerned, they put me and my entire family at severe risk by placing that tire back onto my vehicle. When I approached the store manager and presented my receipt from my previous tire purchase which clearly indicates to "Make sure the spare tire is in good shape and check tire pressure" he offered to sell me a new tire. I couldn't believe it. How do you put a spare tire on a vehicle with a hole the size of a mans fist? I just don't know how this mistake happens. Since we were about to leave town, I paid for the tire. It is the last of my money they will see. I cannot recommend doing business with this store.

I give one star but feel it should be all or nothing. I took my Excursion there for an alignment that came with a free tire rotation. I needed both. After picking it up I of course paid before inspecting my vehicle. I was about to leave when I decided to check to see if my tires had been rotated and they in fact had not. I went back in and confronted them about it and how they word let me leave thinking they rotated my tires. They told me they couldn’t lift my vehicle. Then I was invited back to see how they didn’t have the correct attachment to lift the entire vehicle. I asked if they had a jack and jack stands and still I received more excuses how they only had 1 and that they may not hold. In the end I guess it was more work than they wanted to do so lying to the customer was the result. They said they “owed me” a rotation. Of course I still payed full price for the service and nothing in retiring for a free rotation. Never again will I return. I got there at 11 and picked it up at 4. They said they would call me when it was done and they did not do that either. Looks like I’ll be doing this myself NTB. I don’t have another 5 hours to waste. Time is money.

They are terrible. I made an appointment for 4pm (several hours in advance) to repair a slow puncture. I checked they would be able to START the work at 4pm, and they confirmed they could. I arrived at 4pm, and I checked they would be starting the work at 4pm. They said they couldn't because they were busy, but they thought they'd be ready at around 6pm. When I asked why they accepted a 4pm appointment, the commented that (despite what I was told on the phone) I had made an appointment to drop the car off, not to start the work. This dialogue with the person who accepted my appointment took place in front of 10 other customers, so I hope Merchants enjoyed the very bad publicity. I will not be going there again. They deserve their dismal rating, and if I can give them 0 stars I will do. They are amateurs.

Made up fake problems to charge me more to fix my car. They quoted me at 680; I took it to Shorty Anderson’s and they fixed the problem efficiently for $260. They also charged me for two headlights, and only put in one. When one went out, they said I should have paid for two. Lol. If you’re young, they’ll try to take advantage of what you don’t know. At first when I called the woman answered the phone then hung up, after calling the NTB on woodruff rd the man there told me he didn't have anyone to do a transmission flush and to call the one at this location an I did, but after I called the woman back she asked what year was my car and I said a 98 Expedition and she told me that they do not really mess with that sort of thing exactly with that age on it. I had to go in on a Memorial Day weekend and very few places were open. This was the first place that came up on google search. But this place was really awesome! The staff were super friendly and helpful. They did a thorough job patching up the tire. We were also in and out of there in a lot less time than we expected. Needed new breaks. Thought NTB would be able to help me out. They informed me that I had all of these issues.. calipers no longer good, new rotors, brakes. New rear breaks. They wanted to charge me $920. Did some research. Their explanation didn’t make sense, their charges were significantly greater than they should have been. $650 is standard for 2 axels, full break service. Product cost and labor combined. Got a second opinion. Calipers were fine. Rear brakes were fine. Only needed rotors and breaks. Got that done in 40 mins and $700 less than what NTB was charging me. I guess they thought they could sneak one past me. Don’t recommend. Won’t be going back.

I made appt online for 3pm on Thursday, arrived was told the online appt was having issues so there was 3 cars ahead of me and it would be 2 to 3 hrs, I was going to wait. Decided to set appt for 3pm on Friday, called at 2:15 to confirm I was good to go, I was arrived at 3pm was out the door by 4pm. They had the upgrade filter I wanted put on, were careful to keep interior clean, were polite with all who came in while I was there. Restroom was messy but usable. Could use a cleaning company to come in and clean at night after closing. Needed a good wipe down at minimum.

Took my car in for an oil change, because it was the fastest apointment I could get in town. Despite previous bad experiences with NTB with my old car (it would have six new problems after getting one fixed every time I took it to NTB), I figured “it’s just an oil change, they can’t possibly mess anything else up”. Well, they also took it upon themselves to rotate my tires (as a “complimentary service”) without asking or telling me. All I asked for and wanted done was a simple oil change. The mechanic broke one of my lug nuts, and asked me to pay EIGHTY DOLLARS to fix what THEY BROKE when all I asked for was an oil change. Employees were incredibly rude when I brought it to their attention, claiming that “they didn’t mess anything up”. How then, do I come in for an oil change and end up being asked to pay $80 for a freaking lug nut by the time I leave? The manager, being pretty rude himself, finally agreed to replace that lug nut free of charge, but still told me that this whole thing was essentially my fault for not knowing they would also rotate my tires, when none of his employees informed me or asked me if this could be done at all.

I went to this NTB to have a oil change and tire repair and of course my vehicle needs more work done to it. Jake told me that I needed new brake pads and new rotors. I asked him if the rotors could be resurfaced and he informed me that they were under the Chevy specs so I would have to buy new ones. I opted out of the brake job and did it my self. I took the rotors up to O'Reillys and they informed me that I had plenty of thickness left on the rotor that it could be resurfaced. So the moral of the story is I was lied to so that I would spend more money with them.

I had the most awful experience here today. I dropped my car off to get a new tire because I had a blowout on the near by highway. The gentleman who checked me in was courteous and professional but unfortunately, that is where the positive experience ends. When I arrived at 6:30ish to pick my car up, I stood in line for 10 or so minutes as the (different) guy behind the counter flirted and joked with the lady at the desk. When she finally wrapped up what she came for, a quote for work she might have done before September, the guy in front of me asked for an oil change. He was told there was still too much work to be done and only one technician so he couldn't be helped today. Keep in mind there was only 1 car in a bay and they close at 8pm. He left angry saying he wished he'd have known that '20 minutes ago.' Next it was my turn, so I told the guy behind the counter I was there to pick up my car. He nonchalantly found my paper work, checked me out, and handed me my keys. It seemed odd that they're so busy they couldn't do an oil change, but this guy seemed without a care or a deadline in the world. I walked out to my car, put the key in the ignition....and nothing. It didn't start. I've owned that car it's entire life and it had never done that before. I walked back in to the store, looked around for the guy, and finally found him literally kicking tires in the shop. I said, "Excuse me, my car won't start." His response? He shrugged. That was it- palms up, head cocked to the side, shrug. When I just stared at him, flabbergasted that a shrug was all he had to offer, he finally said he'd hook it to a jump box. 4-5 minutes later, he finally saunters over to my car. Then, as he's hooking the jump box to the battery, he adds that the car had done that to them twice earlier today, and so they jumped it off before and left it run for a while. I asked him if it was really the battery or if they had just run it put of gas. (I was on my way to the gas station when my tire blew with less the 1/4 tank left.) He responded "I don't know, is it on E?" Yes. Yes it was. A real feat, considering I drive a Nissan Versa that get 30+ miles to the gallon. So they managed to run my car completely out of gas, they then jumped it off twice, let it run like that, and managed to ruin my battery as well! Not only was the guy behind the counter (no name tag) incompetent and devoid any sense of urgency, but the people I trusted to fix my car lacked basic understand of how cars actually work *and* manged to damage it further. Also keep in mind, this facility never ran a test on my battery, they just assumed that was the issue, and never called to ask me if I knew of a reason why my car wouldn't start. Furthermore, no other issues with my vehicle were ever mentioned at anytime, until an employee was out in the parking lot jumping it off again. After dealing with them in person, I decided I'd have someone inspect the tire they installed. No surprises, they broke off one of my wheel studs. Conveniently, that was never mentioned either. Rest assured, I will never darken the door of another NTB, and I will go out of my way to make sure no one I know does either. What a joke!

They went over everything that was wrong with my jeep since it was sitting in the driveway for almost a year, then covered the bare minimum I needed to pass the inspection since I was short on money at the time. NTB on Chalmers rd. has the best customer service!!!! I was traveling from the Greenville Hospital because my son was injured while camping a hour and half away and notice one of my tires had something in it and was losing pressure. I pulled into NTB on Chalmers rd and they were slammed. Frank Georgetti was the manager and greeted me quickly. I told him a quick story of my son and issue and he said he would work me in and get me back on the road. Not only did he do that but he himself fixed my tire and got me back out on the road in less than a hour even with all the customers he had waiting. These days you don't see a Manager that will get his hands dirty and help out the team when needed and have a smile on his face doing it. If I owed a business in Greenville I would steal him away from NTB. After 3 days with my son having surgery and then having a tire issue I was stressed to the max. Very good service. Took my car in thinking I needed new brakes which were going to cost a small fortune, but was called later and told the brakes looked great and did not need replacing. They easily could have done the work and charged me for it, but didn't which I really appreciated. If you're ever there, ask for Ryan; he was very friendly and didn't force any extra warranties or services on me.

They asked me if I wanted them to continue, before they did so. The issue was they had to correct work from the previous mechanic(mobile mechanic from CL) I asked them not to continue, and I fully expected them to charge me for the hour labor. They did not, because they said they couldnt do what I asked. Very fair and honest, they were. If you live in Reston, and you dont come here - youre crazy.

Was broke and credit card maxed out. My front passenger donut blew out on Reston Pkwy and I managed to pull into Merchant's parking lot. I explained the situation to the manager. I wish I would have read the reviews before scheduling an appointment. Our car was scheduled at 2:30, at 3:30 it finally entered the garage bay and at 5:10 we were finally ready. This ridiculous waiting is completely unacceptable with a scheduled appointment. The two employees that I had contact with were courteous and apologetic, however it was obviously not an uncommon situation. My tires seem very well balanced and my car is handling perfectly. I was wondering if that would be the case, since walking around the perimeter of the building looking into the garage was disturbing. I have seen high school auto mechanics classes have more maturity and professional. Guess that explains the large scrape in my door..... Save your self time and frustration, your business elsewhere.

I have never paid so much for a tire change fee, and not had the guy put my spare tire back correctly. I went outside to see what was taking so long, and the guy that was handling me told guy(2) to put the tire back in properly in the trunk of my car. I went to this location to have my windshield wipers checked out because my wipers were skipping when I turned them on. The manager told me that the wiper transmission was bent and she could easily fix it, if I brought it in another day. I came in a week later to have it repaired prior to moving and she then told me that the entire transmission needed replaced and it would cost me close to $500. I stated I was moving in a few days and needed to know if my wipers would still work and she stated no. I then took my car to another location for a second opinion, where they said the transmission was fine and it was the wiper motor. I was able to buy the motor myself and install it and now my front windshield wipers are fine. I was charged $60 for the diagnostics on my car that was not even correct and was attempted to be charged almost $500 to fix a piece of my car that is not broken. I am a young girl with little car knowledge and this business took full advantage of that.

I was quoted over a grand to replace parts that I had personally replaced less than a year ago with minimal driving. I took it to another shop that said everything looked great and passed my inspection with flying colors. I also found that my fog lights did not have power to them after using them less than 24 hours before my visit. I find it hard to believe that this a mere coincidence. Whoever allows this type of thievery to continue should be in prison.

VERY DISHONEST. If you want to save money, please keep reading. NTB is the worst experience we've had with an inspection station lying to customers in order to make money. Don't be fooled. We do all maintenance and nearly all repairs on our vehicles. We took one vehicle for inspection elsewhere and they told us a couple items that needed repair to pass. We fixed those but that place was closed when we were ready to take it back in, so we took it to NTB. They told us entirely new things. My husband pointed out those things had just been recently replaced and he had the receipts. The guy said "oh, yeah, the handwriting is just hard to read." Then he rattled off new things that had nothing in common with the first things he listed. In other words, it couldn't possibly be a situation of misread handwriting. We left and took our vehicle to the Toyota dealership, since the driver airbag light was on. They told us that was due to a recall, corrected the issue (free, since it was a recall), and confirmed NTB was lying about our vehicle needing any additional repairs. They gave us a passed inspection. We will never return to NTB.

I don't know if it's just this location or if it's company policy to overbook, but even with a scheduled appointment, installation of four tires took nearly 2 hours. The counter attendant (who is usually some arrogant male that talks to me as if I know nothing about my car) let me know that he had call-offs so the shop was backed up, but this isn't the first time this has happened. Four tires without the TPMS should take maybe 40 minutes to install. I just don't get it. If it weren't for the 6 months SAC offer, I'd definitely go somewhere else.

Thank you John Cicci! My wife picked up a nail in her tire on her way to work. She was able to pull into a shopping center on W Broad St. and got a coworker to pick her up to take her to work. It would have taken me 2 hours to get there and I was at work. So I had to find a way to get her tire fixed before her shift ended. The vehicle was less than a mile away from NTB so I gave them a call. Thank God for their Service Manager John Cicci. He drove to our vehicle and changed the tire in the rain. Then drove the vehicle back to NTB. The tire was badly damaged and needed to be replaced. They replaced the tire and only charged me for the tire and install. We Thank the entire team at NTB on W Broad St.. John Cicci went above and beyond for us. Thank you very much!

You had my car for almost 2 full days for an inspection and tire change. I was called at 10 the day after I dropped it off and told it would be ready around 12:00 and that I would need new wipers to pass inspection, and they recommended a tire change. I showed up a little after 1 to pick my car up and it hadn't even been looked at yet. My 12:00 estimate turned into a 4:00 estimate. I took off work, which is hourly so I lost money, to have my time wasted. So I get the car, and find that I was charged four times the average price for the wipers, which is outrageous, but I needed to pass inspection that day. Only to find that the passenger side wiper wasn't even installed correctly (you left the shield on!) and that you didn't even put valve caps on my brand new tires. I called corporate about the long wait and they had the gall to send me coupons to your very chain I complained about. I paid you only to have to fix your mistakes. Horribly unhappy. You will be hearing from me again.

I went to this location for an oil change and inspection. Immediately the guy (who made it clear that i was interrupting his day) at the counter said they were too busy and only taking appointments even though I was the only person there and it was 9:00 in the morning. I asked if I could drop it off he said yeah, but it would take all day. I went back at 10:00 as discussed and he said well we can probably do the oil change, but I am not sure if we can get the inspection done. I said "you remember me right, you told me to come back to get this done less than an hour ago." He was visibly upset so I just left. This guy did everything possible in 2 different interactions to have me take my business elsewhere. So I did. Been using NTB since high school. Just too many options these days to have to put up with someone who clearly has no interest in helping.

This review is specific to the Simpsonville Location: VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Had a 12:00 appointment for a $19.98 oil change. Arrived on time and salesman explained to me that due to my mileage I should really go with a different type of oil. I understood what he was saying and I did agree despite my $19.98 oil change turning into a $48.99 oil change I was okay with that. I asked about windshield wipers and he said they were about $15. I asked for those to be changed(only later did I realize they were $15 EACH) and he asked if I wanted my tires rotated, he said that was FREE so of course I agreed. TWO HOURS later........ TWO HOURS with no explanation ( and remember, I had an appointment) I paid a little more than $100 for my services. Services I originally thought were $19.98. That's what they call a good old fashioned bait and switch and I fell for it. Honestly I'm not even that upset about the cost because I know you have to take care of your vehicle. I'm more upset with the fact it took TWO HOURS and that at no time during those two hours did anyone come and give me an explanation as to what was taking so long. I truly believe they went to lunch and left me sitting there. But then that's not the end of the story. Four days later, I get on the interstate and I'm scared out of my mind when I hear and feel a violent knocking noise coming from under the car. It really feels like something is going to fall out or break. I go immediately back to the shop and its explained to me that my tires are probably out of balance given the fact they were rotated. Oh, ok! Surely that's an easy fix. So I wait 30-45 minutes for that service and I am in complete and utter disbelief when the salesman tells me that it will be $21.98. "Excuse me? Isn't it part of the tire rotation service you performed 4 days ago?" His response: oh no, the rotation is free but we have to charge you for balancing them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I would have NEVER agreed to the FREE rotation had I known it would then require them to be balanced and I was going to have to pay for that. I can promise you that will be the LAST time I bring my vehicle to NTB in Simpsonville OR anywhere else for that matter. And I will not be recommending them to anyone. Poor, poor, poor customer service and poor business practice. Taking advantage of customers is unacceptable.

Inspection time is always stressful for the client in a rush and the front desk personnel making the appointment. For inspection and oil changes, I usually wait for my vehicle without making time demands and find that Daniel (at front reception) is always pleasant and cordial. Although my inspection had some repair issues, they were still able to get parts and fix in timely manner. I waited roughly 3 hours.

Watch out. These guys prey on those who don't know much about vehicles; particularly, college students at nearby WVU and on the elderly. I've taken my vehicle to this location in the past over the past couple of years because of a coupon I got in the mail advertising for a cheap oil change. I've made appointments with them, and twice after the oil change was complete they've told me there's something seriously wrong with my vehicle and it's going to cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Both times I've taken the vehicle elsewhere for a second opinion and those shops have said nothing was wrong that NTB had indicated. Today, the same thing happened with my brother's vehicle. These guys are *not* trustworthy. They're running a business model of luring you in for a cheap oil change or inspection but then attempting to bait and switch once they've got your vehicle. They should be out of business for the predatory way in which they go after vulnerable people who don't know much about vehicles.

We took the car to the mechanic shop we have used for years and they said that the car absolutely did not need the work recommended by NTB. So, I would consider that "Strike One". Today is our first visit to have the tires rotated and balanced. Let's see how they do. They could not get us in yesterday. Really?? Let's see how they fare today. Well, back from the appointment now. They did not have a record of the appointment. Very disappointing. I, like so many, wish there were an option for ZERO stars.

I had a unique need for a hydraulic press so decided to call Merhants to see if they had one in their shop. Ziya answered the phone and I explained what I needed done. Ziya told me he has never performed the service I was asking about but was happy to give it a try if I wanted to come down. Ziya personally took it upon himself to help me. He went out of his way to figure out how to get it done. This type of service is rare to come by anymore these days. I would highly recommend this shop to my closest friends. I came in because my front driver side break were start to make a high pitched sound, soft breaks, grinding noise in my break pads, I ended up spending over $530.00 to replace a part. Well come a month later the noise has come back, the breaks are still soft, there is still a grinding noise in my breaks. DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO FIX BREAKS. I will never use your service I would rather spending my money else where knowing that service will be done Right the First time. This just shows a level of service where getting repeat service is through terrible work on a car so the person will have to go back for "warranty" repair and discover something else wrong. Terrible place, I know Mike was lying to me when he told me about the part needed I could hear in his voice. You are just a terrible place.

Just so you know guys, extreme research was done prior to posting this review. One day, I went to Toyota dealer for a safety recall and while doing they did a complementary inspection of my car and found my rear set of wheels needed brake pads and rotors. The estimate was $700. Same day, went to Merchant's auto - estimate $550. They charged $25 for just looking at the car, while others are free to look at. In any case, On the internet, I found out it cost no more than $200 for both parts considering the BEST brands (rotors and pads), cheaper less than $100. Now, labor most auto folks say it's 90-120 mins. In reality, it's just 30mins, max 45mins. At $2/min, it's $90 bucks. Auto folks charge: 2 times or 3 times that amount depending the gullible customers. So, the total actual cost is : $290. Auto Mechanics charge around $550 - $800 for replacement depending on how stupid the customers is and kind of car they drive. Expensive cars have to pay more just for being rich. For average folks like me, even $550 is too much. Similarly, auto mechanics can throw cheap parts to maximize profits. No shame in charging BMW/Mercedes owners etc $2000 for pads and rotors replacements. I think - Merchant would charge insane amount for high end cars.

Truly sick. They are WAY Overpriced and like to take peoples tools out their Vehicles. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. As a matter of fact, BRING BACK MERCHANTS!

Got rescheduled after I set an appointment days in advance. Should have done the oil change myself, they didn’t touch my car til two hours after my appointment. Which I made an appointment a week in advance. Normally don’t ever comment on this stuff but I don’t want this to happen to someone else.

Took my 1998 jeep Cherokee to get my front brakes fixed 06/01/14. After they looked at my jeep they told me I needed to replace my brake pads and brake line and charged me a little over $300. A couple hours later they called and said I also needed to replace my right caliper but my left was still in good condition but they did not charge me for that since they did not inform me of that when they told me what was wrong with my vehicle. So far so good... Not even a month after they finished my jeep I was driving and my brakes started doing the same thing they were doing when I first took my vehicle to them. When I returned my jeep and told them the problem they called me and told me my rear brakes were bad and needed to be replaced and they were gonna charge me $642 just for pads, drums and cylinders! I looked up all the parts I needed and if I were to buy the most expensive product the most I would spend was $200. I told ntb that I was gonna pick my jeep up and do the work myself they then started to come down in price but it was still to much. I took my jeep to a dodge dealership and had them look at it and they did they entire job for $60!!! I needed $45 worth of parts and the rest was labor. If you are going to get brake work done at ntb I do not recommend them at all! the first gentleman that helped me was very nice and was a big help but when I returned a month later the manager was very rude and tried to blame the problem with my vehicle on me.

This is the second time I took my vehicle in for an inspection and I failed yet again. The first time I took it in my side mirror wasn’t clear, I had a amber light out l, a liscense plate light out and my “headlights were not clear enough.” No problem right? Well they wanted to charge me 1100 dollars to fix these minor things. Not really minor price tag. In matter of fact the car is probably worth less than that. Not a problem I fixed all the issue myself. Took it back to get re inspected and now at this point they either didn’t find all the issue wrong the first time OR they just keep pulling things out the bag so they can charge you a large amount of money to fix something simple. Long story short I miss merchants where they were actually helpful and not trying to rip people off all the time. Never the less. They lost a loyal customer today. I don’t recommend this place to anyone unless you want to pay 1100 dollars to get a few light bulbs changed. Trash company.

I have a wheel alignment program with Merchant and regularly do my oil change with them. They have always done a good job and are reliable in the service. AS a regular customer they recently comped my VA service inspection. Fair prices and reliable service.

My appointment was for 10:30am. I got here at 10:00am. I went for breakfast and came back, it’s now 12:30pm and my truck has yet to be moved!!! If I wanted such horrible service, I would of went to Walmart Auto Center!!!
