I was told I needed an alignment after replacing two front tires at a tire place. So, I scheduled an alignment at Gerald's. After Luis thoroughly checked my car, he told me I didn't need it and only charged me for an alignment check. They don't try to rip people off! When I got into my car, there was a beautiful rose on my seat. What a sweet touch, made my day! I will be returning for all my future needs. Thank you Gerald's!!!!!

The prices are outrageous. I’ve been here several times before and got an oil change and 4 new tires last time. I noticed that after my oil change, it was leaving puddles all over my driveway and everywhere we would go. After further inspection, it was found that it was not oil that was leaking but was windshield washer fluid. So I then take it back to the dealership and find out that the mud guard underneath was never put back on the vehicle and it still is no longer on the vehicle. Plus the dealership said that the windshield washer fluid reservoir had quite a large crack in it causing it to leak all the time. He then told me to come back and take a look and it was almost comical. I say that because you could tell where someone attempted to cover it up and had wrapped the reservoir with soak-em-up. Keep in mind that this is a 2015 model vehicle and when we took it there the car only had 30,000 miles on it at the time. The only mechanic that touched it was Gerald’s Tires. So I let that go and attempt to go in for an oil change. My wife arrives to find out that the price of the oil change had more than double compared to what they told us on the phone. They told us it would $60-$70 for an oil change. REALLY!!! That’s the most expensive oil change I’ve ever heard of especially considering I can get it done CORRECTLY at the dealership and get a tire rotation and inspection thrown in for around $40. Then the tires they put on (which they claimed were the best of the best) were and still are sliding all over the place. This car is a front wheel drive 4 cylinder and it looses traction even slightly taking off from a complete stop. Let’s not even talk about how dangerous they are in the rain. I was honestly better off keeping the factory tires this car had on it originally than “upgrading” to what Gerald’s tires considers to be their best tire. I looked them up afterwords and these tires have horrible reviews. So I pretty much have been taken advantage of from the start by this place. I’d find a different place to get tires, brakes, and oil changes. That is unless you just like paying almost double for some reason

I gave it a 1 star because they did complete the work. I took a company truck in to get an oil change and a fuel filter change. I called for an appointment the day before and was told no appointment, first come first served. So I show up 1/2 an hour before they open. When I get to the counter and explain what I need, the counter man asked if I have an appointment. Really? They got the truck on the lift 7 minutes later. After I had been there for an hour and 40 minutes, I asked the counter man what's the hold up. He tries to tell me that the lift had been occupied by another vehicle, not knowing that I watched them drive the truck onto the lift. The tech working on the truck then said the work was completed but the truck wouldn't crank and the batteries died. I asked if he had primed the fuel system after replacing the filter. He lied and said yes. When he finally got the truck pulled around and I received the bill it was $120.00 more than anywhere else.

2 Very poor experiences in a row with this Gerald's. Wife feels like they tried to take advantage of her as a woman. 2 different times, 2 different issues we show up and are at the door before the place opens. First time to get Air Conditioning checked second time was to get tires rotated and brakes checked or fixed before we take a trip to Florida. BOTH times we call them around 3 because we know they close at 4 and have not heard anything despite being the first customer there one time and the third one there a second time and are told are truck is being looked at now only to get a call 40 minutes later saying they did not have time to get to our truck and need us to leave it over the weekend. If this happened once, no problem we can deal with it, but 2 times in a row, makes me wonder what good we did ourselves getting up early and making sure we were one of the first customers there. Any ways we then go to pick up our truck after paying for our front brakes and tire rotation and the truck wont start. Battery is completely dead and the guy tells my wife this happens to him all the time, he gets in his vehicle every day and there are lots of days the battery is completely dead. Do you think you should be working on cars sir? You need to check your starter or alternator if you are having this issue regularly. Either way we understand someone probably left the lights in the car on or something and guess what we would not have minded if that happened and you just let us know, but you want to lie to us? Too many lies. Like the wife said the rose doesn't mean customer service and she would rather not have the rose if we are going to get lied to every time we come. 1st lie was first visit- we are looking at your truck now, when they called us later to admit they were not 2nd was the exact same thing the second time and 3rd your battery dies several times each week and that is normal? Seems like it is time to start looking for a new place to have our vehicles serviced. *** have not heard back from Brandon as of yet, this morning my wife also informed me that they broke the lock on our driver side door while the truck was being worked on. I am really trying to be fair her, we have done business with this Geralds for 10 years and usually had no issues, but tomorrow morning my wife, me and our 3 little kids all under 4 years old are supposed to be heading to Florida for vacation. I had the truck serviced before hand hoping to prevent any issues and now with no time left to resolve these issues I can either come out of pocket another $800 to rent a vehicle or take my truck which doesn't lock now and is having battery issues and the headlight we asked to have fixed still not working. The good news is the brakes that we had installed seem to be working well, the rest has me very worried.

I really appreciate the way I was treated here. There was a price discrepancy with the battery I was going to purchase, and they were willing to accommodate. They definitely do not want a bad taste in people's mouths when there is conflict of any kind, just take care of your car needs and let things go smoothly and friendly. My family and I were in Charleston for a wedding this past weekend. We were heading back to Michigan early and hit a raccoon that took out radiator, ac condenser, and a front tire. Tow truck driver recommended Gerald’s and thank goodness. From the start the experience was great. After I explained the situation they handled it. From Rich checking us in to Brandon handling the repairs they were incredible. Got us back on the road in 2 1/2 hours and home safe. Everyone there had a positive, upbeat, and professional attitude. I purchased a set of 4 BFGoodrich KO2s in November for my wifes Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and upon completion after waiting the 4 hours for the tire change noticed that all 4 of the Jeeps wheels had grooving the entire circumference of the wheel. I took the Jeep back, waited a few more hours to be seen again and had it looked at by the Tire manager at the time, a man named Philip. He said he wasn't sure who it was that changed the tires but that they did cause the damage and that we'd get it fixed back to stock. He suggested a shop down near the Joint Base so I took the Jeep there. They wanted to powder coat all the wheels which is exactly not what my wife wanted. So then we discussed having them re-machined and repainted but the shop would only do all 4 at a time and it would take two weeks and the shop has no where to keep the Jeep and can't provide a rental to allow my wife to get to and from work. So I went back to Philip who then suggested Custom Wheels Express on Rivers Ave who let us send one wheel off at a time. I had dropped the wheel off a bit before Christmas and didn't get it back without having to call 3 separate times. They finally got the wheel back January 28th but had misplaced the brand new tire I had just had installed. It took them a few hours but they did eventually find it. When I came to pick the wheel up the wheel did in fact look stock in the sense that it was the same shape. But the color was off, the clear coat on it way too thick, the Jeep symbol obviously was just a piece of vinyl that they put down and clear coated over which left a raised area, and the machining quality was terrible leaving burrs everywhere that they just clear coated over. When I said that wasn't acceptable they said it was the best the company they send them off to can do. They wanted to send off the remaining 4 wheels to have them all match, but why would I, my wife, or anybody want to settle for something that isn't correct. I work rotating shift work in the Navy and my wife works two jobs and goes to school so finding time to try to get this issue fixed has put a lot of strain on us. I got around to taking the Jeep back to Gerald's in the end of February and they left a note for Philip. A month goes by and I don't get a response. So I went back in the beginning of April and found out that Philip was again, not there and that I could try to call him on his day off. I'm not trying to make anyone work on their day off so I said I'd just come back again when I can. Went back in may to find out that Philip doesn't work at Gerald's #6 anymore and talked to the current Tire manager who had a physical and verbal response to my issue that came across as if it wasn't his problem so he can't fix it which I can remotely understand but don't appreciate. The cashier and another worker however may have seen my irritation and gave another suggestion. To call a Mr Clay Watts. So I've been calling this individual over the last 3 or 4 weeks, leaving notes with who I can only assume is a receptionist or his scheduler. Not once have I had a talk with Mr Watts. It's getting extremely frustrating that a company that boasts about customer service isn't helping me get this issue resolved. However, I do appreciate the cashiers' attitudes and willingness to attempt to help. If I can finally get this issue resolved I may end up giving the company another shot at working on my vehicles but as of right now, I don't think I can stomach the potentialof giving them another vehicle that may get damaged. Update: After getting in touch, I have had the damaged wheels replaced with nearly brand new take offs from another Jeep owner in a very expeditious manner. The entire process has been quite a ride but towards the end I'm not sure it could have gone smoother. As always, the people operating the front desk were fantastic and the tire manager was more than willing and was happy to help.

My wife's car needed a new starter on her honda civic which was a common problem for that model year. She took it to a dealership which charged her $100 to tell her that was the problem then wanted to charge $900 for the job including the part. Not sure if the service department was up charging her for being a woman or what but that is a ridiculous prince. I bought the starter for $150 at a part store and was going to install it myself untill I had a look at it and realized that it was going to take me forever without a car lift and 10 rachet extensions. It was in a location that required you to have 10 year old hands and 4 foot arms.I decided to go to Gerald's to have it installed because I had a great experience before. They said they would install the starter for her for $200 plus tax which was what I would expect for the man hours of that job. We dropped the car off the night before and the next morning when they started the work they called her to verify what they were going to charge her before they did the job which is great to know and called.when the car was done that day. What my wife loved was when she picked her car up they left a single rose with a note telling her thank you for being a customer. It was great that she went somewhere to get work done and didnt get ripped off for being a women which tends to happen when I am not around, we love this place to get work done that I may not want to do myself.

I've read some of the negative reviews. I can honestly say, I have never experienced anything but integrity and good work at a reasonable price. They are extremely busy because others feel as I do. They are not perfect, but I feel they try hard to take care of their clients in a honest and timely fashion. Used to always go there. But then had to go back 2 times to get things fixed over and over. Took my truck to check squealing brakes. Paid $600 for recommended all new brakes. Went back since still squealing. Sat again 2 hours. Brakes still squealing today??? Had them put new brake light bulbs. Was told after my break lights not working. Went back again to get new bulbs. I am done wasting my time and money.

We had tires replaced and received very efficient treatment. Work was completed in less time than they estimated. The price was much better than I had expected. About a month later I had a nail in my tire. I popped in with no appointment, they made room for me very quickly and repaired the tire. No charge and a red rose left on my front seat. When my truck had a screw in a tire we received the same fast, kind service - with no charge again - even though we had not purchased our truck tires there. This is a business that really cares about people - and I will always choose Gerald's for my future car needs. You deserve 10 stars.

After calling 2 days in a row for reassurance they had my size in a used tire I was told they had them as it was a common size. I get there after taking the day off to be rudely told they don't carry that size cause it's a 10 ply LT tire. No offer to find a alternative tire or nothing. That amounts to poor customer service all the way around. Since when does a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 not have a common size at 275/60/20? Very disappointed with service here and wont ever return to this location. Wasted day.

I've been on twice now and they are always so nice and helpful. The waiting area is clean and overall comfortable. The bathrooms are clean. They are always busy but they're also fast and good. Very classy! Received a rose with special note on my passenger seat when I picked up my car. I'm sure it was because I'm a first time customer. I can't imagine they do this with every customer every time! They were courteous and quick. A flat tire is not the greatest way to start off my weekend. Plus the added stress of just having moved here and having no clue where to go, I choose Gerald's partly because it was close to my exact location at that time and so glad I did! I'm nervous and anxious by nature, especially with anything auto related, being a woman, I feel out of place at such things. But upon entering a woman was my first contact! I felt so at ease. A few minutes (yes! minutes) a gentleman came out and explained to me in terms I could understand why my tire couldn't be saved and how much I would spend on a new tire. A few more minutes later, I was on my way, all this happened in a flash without an appointment! When getting back into my vehicle (more than ready to end my day) there was a rose. That was the most thoughtful thing ever! My experience here will not be forgotten.

I initially went in on Tuesday midday, and they said the wait could be up to 1 hour 45 minutes, so I opted to go back Wednesday morning for 7:30 opening. (I try to get there before 7:00). I had discussed the purchase of my tire on Tuesday, so handed them my paperwork and they had me out in no time. They put my tools and spare tire back where they belonged very nicely. As always, I love the rose on the seat when I leave. They prove you can be businesslike and still have a good time. Thanks, you guys.

They were very nice as always and found why my tire was leaking. Felt like $22 for fixing a nail in my tire was a little high, but they fixed it and were nice about it. No complaints about the service just the cost, but I guess you pay a little more for good service.

I took my car in for an oil change and brake service. They couldn't find my wheel key, so my husband located it, and I called and spoke to the service manager handling my vehicle to let him know where it was within. After a few hours and no notice on the status on my car, I called. They did not go back to make the repairs. I let it go because mistakes happen, I'll just use a different service provider. But once I saw the condition of my vehicle I question if they actually did the work. They didn't clear the maintenance required light, did not put the trunk back together from where they were searching through my Wheeljack 4 the key. I am highly disappointed. Unacceptable.

They take forever. Forever. If you enjoy waiting rooms for extremely long periods of time, or don't need your vehicle for a long time, this is the place for you. 4 hrs to patch my Brother-in-law's tire one afternoon. Today, 6 hours to balance tires. 6. Hours. Dropped the car off (which we wouldn't have needed to do if they balanced the tires with new tires like they're supposed to the first time) at 8 am. 1:30 pm, car is returned with ROTATED tires, not BALANCED tires. Take it back again, finally returned at 2:00 pm, 6 hours later with corrected work that should've been done the first time. Never using Gerald"s again.

I was at this Gerald's at 11 a.m. on July 2. 2019. Just stopped in to get air in my front right tire. Levi was the person who put air in my tires. In that short amount of time I knew Levi was honest and reliable. Levi explained where to see how much air I needed (side of driver's door) and then told me. He smiled and thanked me for coming in. I was impressed with how quickly he worked. Levi explained things well and you could tell he takes pride in and really loves his job. The expansion of their business locations show you how there service works. We now live in Summerville and am so glad there is a location closer to us on Dorchester Road. Had my girlfriend drop off my car to diagnose noise in front tire. They told her they didn't know what would fix it. Said I needed new rotors and tie rods. Said I needed new tires that mine were bald on back. Said 2000 dollars. I said no and looked. The noise was a missing bolt in my mud flap inside the wheel well. My back tires had crazy tread still. I think they mixed up which car mine was cause they kept calling it an Impala We don't own an Impala....that or they were trying to trick my girlfriend because she is a woman. She used to be a mechanic and they were talking to her like she was ignorant. Never again.
