If I could give 6 stars, I would. These guys are the absolute best. Brought the car in for a broken windshield wiper arm. While fixing that, they noticed a flat rear tire. While replacing the tire, they noticed my inspection was up. I was a challenging customer, let's put it that way:-) but they got to work and I was DONE—out the door and on with my day—within an hour of the inspection discovery. Wow. They have been the nicest, most helpful, most thorough, most accommodating service shop for me for going on 10 years now. When I lived in Phoenixville I received 6 years of the same high-quality service from their sister store on Bridge Street. Now I'm back in Downingtown, and still wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you, United Tire.

Not only did these guys get my flat tire fixed, but they stayed open late to to help me out! I was on a long road trip by myself and had quite a hectic drive and these guys (along with a few good Samaritans who pulled over to help) got the job done! I’ve come to this location for oil changes, flat tire fixes, inspections, and a few other issues and the guys are always ready to help, friendly, and professional. There were a few times I called and need to get in ASAP (flat tire) and they were able to accommodate me immediately. Excellent service, knowledge and professionalism is top tier, and I will continue going to United over the dealership or other shops because I trust them and know I am in good hands.

Overall, I was disappointed with the service when I recently had my tires replaced here. They were relatively friendly, and I did not think that they tried to gouge me with their prices, but I did not get any impression that they cared about me as a customer or that I got a great deal. Getting tires aligned after replacement was an upcharge as well, unlike some other tire companies. Because they weren't jerks, I'm still giving them three stars, but I won't go back.

I liked this place at first, but now I'm not so sure. When you replace the universal joints on a drive shaft you put it back the way it was originally. There were mark's on the shaft and flange because I changed the pinion seal. So when the "mechanics" can't line up lines so that there isn't vibration in the driveshaft that's a problem. I shouldn't have to go back and fix an "ase certified mechanic" screw up. I would have done it my self but it was there for inspection. Prices are high on par with a dealer. The place is clean and the customer service seems okay but this is the second time I had and issue and will not be going back. And what's worse is that universal joint it's already bad three of the four retaining pins are gone and it was pressed into to tight. Alignment was also done incorrectly, the adjustment for the steering wheel was not even touched and the truck still pulls to the right but I was still charged for it.

Would have been a 5, but when we brought our car in, they were unaware we had ordered(from Malvern warehouse) tires. Was asking if we ordered from other store? When they found them, they asked if we wanted alignment check. I told them the person I talked with day before said alignment check couldn't be done in the time we needed (also weather, sports car) car back. He persisted to sell us. Not that big of a deal, but to have two conversations with different people, who are not sure what other said, was frustrating. Otherwise great service.

I heard stories about Jekyll & Hyde shops. This one is it. I got a good 'ol switcheroo: first couple of visits were fine, polite. Then the games started. $160 to adjust the tension on an alternator belt....wow. Followed by a desperate attempt to convince me to replace the transmission pan. And lastly, and this is a reason to never go back again, they used conventional oil despite knowing that previous oil changes for the car were synthetic.. People get excited when they find a shop that's "watching out for you." Just wait a bit before you start singing praises.

Staff is friendly, honest, and proactive. Most recently took my vehicle here because I had a nail in my tire first thing on a Monday morning. They patched the tire for me quickly while I waited. They also had wifi, tv, and coffee while I waited. They asked if I also wanted to do an oil change (because I was very close to needing one) and reminded me of my upcoming inspection. I appreciate the reminders as I’m always running around between work/kids. I declined the oil change and they did not pressure me whatsoever (they are friendly and helpful with no pressuring!) but I will be sure to go back soon and get my oil change and inspection taken care of. We now bring all of our cars here for everything.

Super experience! Checked out tires online. Within 12hrs got an email with out the door price. That same day called and made an appointment for very next day. Kevin was great on the phone. Super friendly environment and the waiting room is nice. ‘Free’ soda, coffee, WiFi etc. Will definitely use these guys again.

Hard to say from my first visit. I made an appointment over the phone which was not put into the system and it made for a confusing time, but they did take me right away anyways. The service seemed to take a very long time, but it was very quality work as I'd expect from United Tire. Prices seemed competitive as usual. Will update and give more feedback after a second visit.

When I wanted a particular tire for my Porsche Cayman S, they searched all over, only to find out that there were none available in the country, and the manufacturer wasn’t going to have them available until late May. I switched to my “Plan B” tire and asked if they have them. As it turned out, they didn’t have them in stock, and there were only a very limited number of the size I needed in the United States. They promptly had tires shipped in from Orlando and Charlotte. Within a few days, I was able to schedule an appointment to have them installed. Their shop is immaculate, and they cared for my car as well as anyone could ask for. They have gained my loyalty and I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants superior professional service

Needed a oil change and walked into United Tire & Service to give them a try. I live right around the corner and just moved to PA last year. I've used a couple of our auto service companies in Downingtown and was not satisfied. But the minute I walked into the doir of United I could already see the difference. The gentleman behind the greeted me warmly and told me he could do the oil change immediately while I waited. They even had a small problem while servicing my car and were caring and professional. That's what you want with the people that service your vehicle. I will certainly be black and my fiancee will be using them now for her car as well. Thanks United. We've been going to United Tire (previously Downingtown Tire) for over 10 years and even though we moved from Downingtown, we still come back here for service. The people here are honest and fair and always go above and beyond in service. Not only do they take great care of our vehicles but they have helped us fill bike tires when we experienced a flat out on a ride through town, provided me with a cell charger while I waited for service, and offered comforts in their waiting area while I'm there with my small children. The guys here are wonderful and I'm happy to do the drive to Downingtown for their service!

Recently had to have some work done on my truck and was referred to United Tire. I am so glad I went to these guys. From my first meeting with Kevin at the front desk I was put at ease, his humor and knowledge made me very comfortable. Then when my insurance company came to do the estimate, they worked with Bob in the back, who in turn walked me through the covered items as well as some other recommended work they noticed. Bob was very helpful citing all my options both for the insured work as well as the other work. I have already recommended United Tire to a few co-workers that live in the area. 25-30 years of service. These guys surpass my expectations of service. They’ve given me solid advice & sent me to the dealer for service on some items if it was covered under warranty. I’ve called them from Virginia, Michigan, Jersey, with car issues & they’ve walked me thru telling the other service company what needs not to be done so I’m not ripped off in another state. I started coming here about 2 years ago because my friend Earl works here. Earl is a hard worker and always willing to help anyone. Kevin and Bob are awesome!! I am a single mom and have been concerned to take my car places because I don't want taken advantage of. Here you get honest service and out of their way accomodations. I stopped going here after they try to rip me off on a faulty calipers and rear brake job by quoting me over $700 worth of repair estimates. All this from going there for a simple oil change. Received two different opinions from two other mechanics and they both didn't find anything wrong with my calipers and there were still life left on my brake pads. Lot of these Auto repair shops will act as they're an honest repair shop at first, but after 2-3 routine services, they'll come up with something that needs replacing. Apparently this is worth it for them to lose a customer.

This United Tire is the only car shop that I have had consistent quality and continued success with. I've been to PepBoys (once, never again!), 2 or 3 Firestones and yet, I always find myself wanting to come back here! The people at this United Tire always surprise me by the quality and level of work they WILL accomplish. If quality of work is not something you care about, then you can go somewhere else because you will always have quality work performed to your car here. Not only is their exceptional work a highlight, their customer service and willingness to help is second to none! I have, and always will, recommend this United Tire to people I know and it is because of the great people like Kevin and Bob that make me want to keep bringing my cars here! I needed an oil change. I walked right in no appointment and it was done within 45 mins. Great customer service also. Too bad I didn't know they were literally right around the corner. I was using tires plus in Exton. But I'm moving out of state and they reassured me that my highlander Toyota 2008 would be just fine to do 741miles.

I had a screw in my tire that didn’t go all the way through. Instead of trying to make a quick easy $40 off me, they came out and said that there will be no charge. I was shocked and couldn’t believe that there are still honest and down to earth garages out there. I really appreciated that and will be going back here for any of my car repairs. An extremely similar experience to another reviewer, Rev Doe, who posted here. Went in for a state inspection and was told I'd need $700 worth of rear brake and calipers replaced. That's highly unlikely since my vehicle was checked 1000 miles before without issue, but I went ahead and did it against my better judgment. On my way home from picking up my vehicle, the check engine light came on for an emissions leak. I note here that the shop supposedly performed an emissions check as required by the state inspection . I brought it back to the shop and they had the audacity to invoice for another $130 for "diagnosing" that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The man at the counter claimed it was just coincidence and my gas cap must have been damaged after leaving the shop. That's quite a coincidence considering the shop JUST checked the emissions system and was only touched by them. I have no issues with the original work or customer service performed and the prices, while high, are not crazy. But I strongly encourage motorists to look elsewhere as they do not take responsibility for issues created by their own work . Edit: revising my review. The president of the company made a great effort in contacting me and refunding the additional services charge, so I'm adding a star. I don't think I'll return here but I did appreciate their follow up and fairness in resolving my complaint .

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! I came in as a walk-in because my car randomly started making a terrifying metallic screeching sound. I was in Downingtown for work and live an hour’s drive away, so I wanted to make sure it was safe to drive on or take care of it if not. They checked it out right away and found the issue - a rock stuck between my rotor and backing plate. I am so impressed with these guys I literally want to drive back an hour to get my tires replaced here instead of going to my local shop. Excellent customer service is worth the trip.

Alan gave excellent, unbiased advice and answered all of my questions (I do not know much about cars myself). I made my appointment for 4 new tires online and received a confirmation email that the appointment was set. When I arrived at United Tire in Downingtown, the man at the desk, Kevin, told me I was not on the list he had in front of him. It was a hand-written list on the desk. I told him I had a confirmation email, and while I looked for the email on my phone, he found the appointment on his computer and read off my name, the date and time (which was then). He was clearly angered. "I didn't authorize this!" I just stood there looking at him, waiting for what should have been the proper response after finding out the customer had indeed made the appointment: "Sure, we will take care of this as soon as possible." Instead, he was annoyed and mumbled that he would "see what he could do." The man was angry at me for making an appointment, having it confirmed, and showing up to give them my business! Over an hour later, I looked outside and my car was still sitting there. So, I was treated with contempt for showing up to a confirmed appointment and sat waiting for 2 1/2 hours. I would have walked out right when treated that way if I hadn't already paid for the tires online. I didn't need the hassle of trying to get a refund. Later I called them back on my car speaker phone while driving because my tire pressure light had come on. It was Kevin again, and again he sounded annoyed and was very short with me. The passenger in my car said he was ready to cut in and give this guy a piece of his mind. Wow, what a horrible experience. I will NEVER go back to this place again!
