Our car had a catastrophic failure near The Dalles while we were on a trip, 700 miles from home. After this team provided a reasonable quote it was still going to take a few days to source a replacement engine and get the work done. We decided to trailer the car home and not have the service done in The Dalles. Austin, Kody, and the rest of the crew were still super helpful. They communicated well with our home mechanic, helped us load the car on our trailer, provided their expertise, time, and equipment to make it happen, and helped a lousy situation be less miserable. I would trust them and use their services without hesitation. These are the hometown mechanics you are looking for.

Kinda bummed . I went to buy new snow tires and they didn't have much snow tires in stock to choose from . Wish some one could fill the shoes of the old style of lesvscwabs way of doing bussiness , plenty to choose from and sudden service . You don't get that any where any more

Went in to get a quote on some new wheels and tires for 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, Guy at the counter was named Jon. He seemed nice at first but when i told i was going to go from a 17" wheel to 16" wheel he argued with me and said that they would not fit. I had done research to make it would fit my Crosstrek, after he said a bunch of great things about BF Goodrich KO2's i was informed that they were not in stock. After all was said and done i was quoted over $1600 for wheels and tires, I told him that was crazy and i couldn't do it, he then suggested i run studdless snow tires during the warmer months! I looked at him and told i know that snow tires will wear faster in summer months and he replied with a "well duh" this guy needs to trained more or something because i feel like he is probably selling people the wrong tires. I drove to Discount tire in Gresham and got New Wheels and the same tires i wanted and purchased the better warranty for $300 less than what Point S wanted. Never going to these guys again, don't know how to take care of their customers. Seriously save some trouble and money go to another shop.

I was really disappointed. This was my first experience with Point S. I see quite a few people on here have had fast service, and I am sure during certain times if the year they do just fine. Now that things are really busy with snow tire season I experienced something different. I arrived early, only 2 cars in front of me in the bay I was lined up with. I thought for sure I would be in and out in no time. After an hour and a half I began to wonder what was taking so long. So I watched the crew through the window. The employees in the tire room were standing around joking and laughing. Some of them seemed to be aimlessly wandering around not really doing anything. Now with more than 20 cars lined up outside, NOBODY was hustling, not even moving with a sense of purpose. The crew looked very unorganized and under no direct supervision. As a person who has been a manager of a large crew, in a fast paced environment. I was very disappointed. The staff inside was friendly, but oblivious to what was going on in the tire bays. Finally after almost 2 hours my car was ready. I am not sure if I will try Point S again. They haven’t given me much incentive to choose them over their competition. I hope management sees this and takes note of what is going on in the tire room and helps give the employees a sense of urgency. Hopefully your visit will be all the better for it.

Got two new tires and an oil change price is good for the dalles so happy bout that what im not happy about is in regards to the oil change they didnt use synthetic which is recommended nor did they ask. Also no sticker of millage when work was done. The tires i asked if they rotated them the lady said well they usually do. And im almost positive they didn't. Have had better experiences in rhe past

I needed an alignment on my BMW X5 and after being told by several dealerships and tire/alignment places that ONLY BMW can do the alignment, which wanted an arm and a leg to complete, I heard about Point S. I called and Kody got me in next day and Austin did the alignment with ease, plus it was really affordable. I have definitely found my new place to go and would recommend them to anyone. Good place to do business with. Bought a set of BFGs for my Honda and a set of Nokians for my wife's Subaru here. Both sets of tires have worked flawlessly so far. There aren't as many tire distributor choices in The Dalles as in Portland, but I am completely satisfied with the service I've had at Gills. I will need a new set of tires for my F-450 soon (six 19.5" wheels to cover). When I'm ready to buy them Gills will be the first place I look.

I had tires put on , and also had a front end Alignment but when I asked for the sheet that gives the specs For the alignment the tech just came out and told me when did , and he didn't know the numbers of the specs and I told him would like to see the print out and he said he didn't print one off, because most people don't want to see it, I said I did and he said he would have to put our truck back on the machine . I said don't worry about it and left. NOT GOOD BUSINESS .

Blah!!! I made an appointment. I told them what I drive and what kind of oil...yet it wasn’t on hand when I arrived. They seemed kind of clueless here, nice but totally dull. All that would have been good for 3 stars but then I got my bill. Somehow, even though I went to the same chain in the same state last time, this time my bill was $21 more. Finding a new place to go next time for sure. Second picture below is the last service, for comparison.

After the local Honda dealership told my 81 year old mother that her tire could not be repaired (it only had a small screw in it) and she would have to spend over $800 for them to replace all 4 tires (even though they had only 5000 miles on 80,000 mile tires), the guys at Point S fixed the tire for her at no charge and assured her that none of her tires needed replaced. I was out of state and unable to help her at the time but knew that by sending her over to Jon and his team, I could trust that she would be taken care of honestly. They already had my business, now she is convinced they will have all of her business also.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I drive around with three children in my vehicle. This point S told me the ball joints were bad and needed replaced, hence the shaking at high speeds. They "fixed" the issue...yet my car still shook. So I took it to another tire shop. It turns out my wheel was bent and had wear bad enough to start showing wire on the inside of one of my tires. I understand that that the wearing may have been due to a bad bearing...but NO WAY should a tire shop put a car back on the road with wire showing on the inner tire. Putting an unsafe vehicle on the road that has obvious wear is beyond lazy and dangerous.

had to get a new tire cause of a blow out that happen to hit when everyone was getting tires after snow so the wait was longer than normal. only gave 3 stars cause they kind of dropped the ball after they pulled my car from stall and i had to wait longer. but even with that place had a good feel and dog friendly to since i had her with me when it happen. i would recommend them

Kinda slow response but very friendly help! Half the crew were just wandering around aimlessly but luckily the gentleman who helped us got right on our leaking tire. He found and fixed a leaky stem that two other tire stores couldn't.

Purchased tire chains last year. Was told I could return them for credit if unused to put toward the purchase of new tires. First day of snow this year, I called at 8 a.m. (the earliest they would answer the phone). Was told they had 1 set of tires that would fit my car. I said I was on my way and asked if they could hold the tires. I was told no. I arrived by 9 a.m. The tires were sold. I was finally given a refund for the chains, but only after speaking (angrily) with a manager. No apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Horrible customer service.

Put your fax machine on another line and clean the snow out of your areas. Also put some signs up for larger vehicles instead of just "oh 'round back" and directing people to mud filled pits in the backyard.

While the location is optimal there is so much clutter/junk around the building it was difficult for us to pull our rig into the back to accommodate the oversized vehicle. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and had us taken care of in a timely manner though!

I scheduled an oil change on my lunch break, and sat in the waiting room for a full hour before I was told that they didn't have the filter in stock. It would have been nice if they knew ahead of time the item wasn't in stock and let me know... Not really much of an apology or offer to make it right... they asked if I wanted to wait another two hours or come back later for the filter to arrive, but I was already running late coming back to work, and I was out of time to take care of the car. Faster and nicer service can be found elsewhere. Disappointing experience.

Wow! Great Service thinking it was going to be faster by taking the flat tire instead of the whole vehicle but I was wrong.. I got there around 3:50 pm and left after 5:35 pm when they were turning off the lights and closing for the day.. for my surprise once they knew that I was waiting for my tire...it was done in around 10 minutes. like I said Great Service waiting for more then 2 hours just for one flat tire. At the end I didn't know if it was a nail or just a low tire.. (great communication).
